Eugenia listened with interest as Alawa explained what a phone was. “Wow! I have to tell Mama about this! This is really cool!” She said excitedly. Alawa released her from the hug, muttering a soft ow. “Oh, sorry!” She smiled widely when Alawa saw Ja-ja. “I’m glad you’re happy!”

Alawa ran her long fingers through Ja-ja’s white coat, it was soft and felt nice on Alawa’s fingers. “I’m glad you’re happy!” Alawa rose her head to look at senior, “T-thank you senior!” Alawa said given her a smile that was brighter than the narrator’s future-
Alawa suddenly remembered something and accidentally dropped Ja-ja.
‘ouch!’ Ja-ja said to Alawa as his face came in contact with the floor,
“Ja-ja!” Alawa screamed tears springing from her eyes, she had been crying a lot lately. Alawa was emotional but never this emotional, probably because she missed her family. “A-are y-you ok Ja-ja?” Alawa said wiping her tears.
‘yes?’ He replied to her. Alawa beamed, “YEAH!” She cheered. She looked back at Senior Eugenia, “During school break my parents are having a ball! A lot of royals, nobles, lord and guest! Would you like to be my guess?” Alawa asked excited.

Hanako snickered when Lav compared her to Gollum. “My precious!” She rasped, doubling over in laughter. She recovered from her laughing fit, patting him on the shoulder as he hid himself in his shirt. “Don’t worry about it. I guess the raw fish thing does make you think of him. I also like glittery things.”

She nodded graciously, bowing her head. Rushi carried herself with so much elegance. Even her hand motions seemed to be smooth, all flowing together perfectly. “I understand now. It seems very nice and laid-back.” Theodore nodded simply, agreeing. Those would be the perfect words to describe her experience at this school. She signed the word ‘yes’, nodding her fist. “It is.” Almost to laid-back. Theodore had been quite the mess last year, and hadn’t done too many entertaining things. Though there was only her to blame. She could feel the table shaking lightly as Rushi’s leg bounced up and down. She didn’t really mind, it wasn’t a huge distraction. Her invention lay nestled in her mustard-colored backpack, she was paying no attention to the teacher she couldn’t hear.
Rushi raised a curious brow. It looked as if a light bulb had sprung over her head. “Why don’t we join those together!!” Despite how chipper she looked as her hands arched through the air, she maintained her composure, lips pressed together in a pretty smile. “I mean, if you’d like…I’d rather have a friend with me than do a club or so alone, right? Seems fun.” Theodore’s deep eyes seemed to sparkle with uncontainable excitement as Rushi tapped her fingers together to sign friend. She was glad Rushi was feeling the same way-she’d made another friend! It was quite the relief that this year already seemed so full of bright and fun times. “I’d really like that! I’m open to other clubs if they sound like more fun to you.” Rushi was kind enough to be her friend, she shouldn’t force her to go to clubs she had no interest in.
And…Theodore supposed she could reveal a small thought to her newest friend. “I actually wanted to start a sign language club to teach more people ASL…you’re the only person I’ve met who speaks it here.” She admitted, looking away in a bit of an embarrassed way. “I don’t even know if that’s possible or silly or… It was just a thought.” She finished before she could add something she’d regret, pressing her lips together even though she wasn’t speaking. She didn’t want to do something stupid that would haunt her at night like what had happened with Matt.

She peeked out from the depths of her sweater like a blonde prarie dog, eyes glimmering with fear as they met Sonny’s. “Y-You’re not going to laugh at me?” She stammered softly, as if she were quite confused with the entire notion. Sonny shook their head quickly, “Of course not! What happened to you wasn’t funny at all.” They said compassionately, looking down at Autumn with gleaming brown eyes full of pity and worry. They wondered why she expected this-perhaps people often mocked her for getting into these types of situations in the past. Autumn’s cheeks darkened, becoming redder than Sonny’s. Sonny wanted to use their magic to turn the color of their ruby cheeks back to normal-but they were a bit too occupied to hide the flush that came from being so close to the girl below them. “Er…sorry.” Their fingers floated away from Autumn’s scalp and back to their side. But their eyes did not yet leave the soft blue ones in front of theirs.
Both students snapped out of their trances soon enough. “Um, I-I suppose I could make you an apple pie. I mean, as long as you’re not allergic or anything. I would never forgive myself if I made you something you were allergic to.” Autumn said slowly, her voice racked with guilt as if she had actually done the deed she was describing to Sonny. Apple pie sounded even better than a latte-they’d only had a bowl of cereal for breakfast so they were fairly hungry. Still, it sounded like a lot of work for Autumn, who was now playing with a strand of hair. “Nah, I don’t have any allergies.” Sonny smiled fondly, showing perfect white teeth. “I love apple pie. You don’t have to make me one though, I’m sure it’s a lot of work.” They looked away for a moment, then grinned again. “Hey, what’s your absolute favorite type of pie, Autumn?”
Autumn, things collected, began to collect apples in a woven basket-possibly for the pie she’d mentioned, or perhaps she didn’t want them to go to waste. Sonny began to help too, avoiding the kicked one-they figured they should make themselves useful. They gathered the apples to their chest, keeping an eye on Autumn, who had a pretty, soft smile on her face. Sonny felt an uncontrollable blush again, this time they swept it off their face with their magic hand. “Don’t feel bad, it wasn’t your fault.” A voice that could barely be heard sounded from behind Sonny, who immediately turned to see who Autumn was speaking to. She cradled the apple that had been kicked aside in her hands. “You’re a wonderful apple whose done a great job.” Sonny blinked, keeping their blushing under control long forgotten. How was she this d-mn cute?! What the actual-
Autumn whipped around, looking like a deer in headlights when she saw Sonny still stood there watching her. Sonny got a bit spooked by the sudden movement. She apologized, but it was unnecessary to Sonny. “If you wanted to, I could make that pie for you. I mean, only if you wanted me to.” Sonny tilted their head, smiling at Autumn like she was the cutest thing in the world which she was hands down. She seemed determined about that pie. “Why don’t we make it together? I wouldn’t want to sit there while you do all the work.” They offered in their usual calm, kind manner, as they walked up to Autumn and piled their collection of apples into the basket.

As Luan Phong prepared for his first day of school…ever, he thought about home. His home, the moon. He missed it already-so much different from Earth. Of course, he had expected this vast difference, however, he hadn’t been quite as prepared for how much his heart would ache for the silvery comfort of home. Last night, he’d spent hours looking at the white circle in the sky. From his dormitory window, it looked like a smooth white circle in the sky, void of craters, only light markings. The moon comforted him, the subtle glow lulling him to sleep.
The morning greeted him, sunlight streaming through the window, which he decided he didn’t care for one bit. He dressed in the white uniform he had been given. It was white-which he liked, though she sun colored buttons glared at him, taunting him like the big ball of light that had woken him up by creeping under his eyelids. He wore black shoes, and styled his hair the same way he always did, brushing his bangs over his forehead and parting it in the middle. Tiny cakes that tasted like dusty vanilla were breakfast, along with lotus tea sipped from a silver set. Phong left the dorm room, giving himself a good amount of time to get to class.
Classes passed by slowly and silently. He took notes on parchment bound together, not speaking to anyone around him. If he didn’t focus, this whole thing would end as a waste of time on his part. However, third period was different. The classroom was extremely dark and chilly, giving the classroom the feel of a pitch-black evening where anything-good or bad could happen. Phong was able to find a seat anyways, one without anyone around. If he sat next to someone, they’d think he wanted to converse. That was the wrong idea. However, this didn’t even matter, because soon, a boy-whose features could hardly be seen in such dimness-took the seat next to him, greeting him with a siple, “Hi.” Luan stared at him with a cold and unwavering expression. “Hello.” He replied.

Autumn nodded with a soft smile and a sigh of relief when Sonny said they didn’t have allergies. “Good, good. That makes me feel a little better knowing I won’t hurt you accidentally.” Autumn laughed softly and shook her head, “It’s not work, not if you love it. And I do, I love harvesting and I love making food with the fruit and vegetables. I don’t know why, but I just do.” A soft corner smile appeared on Autumn’s face, “The homemade ones. As long as I could remember, I’ve been making pies and other baked goods. When I started, the very first thing my dad did was take me to this Mom and Pop bakery where everything was made by hand, fresh everyday. Before we went in, he told me to close my eyes and just take in the smells. The first thing I could smell when we walked in, I’ll never forget it, was the rich aroma of fruit. I could smell the baking of the golden crust to perfection and hear the soft splat of ice cream on the side of a plate. I opened my eyes and saw an old woman with a smile as warm and inviting as the fresh-baked pies, she wore a flour stained apron with an apple design on it. She said, ‘What looks good, hon?’, I knew right there I wanted to be exactly like that old woman when I grew up.” Autumn sighed with bliss, “I want to make people feel as happy and filled with wonder as I did in that moment, every day.” Sonny offered her help in making the pie, Autumn’s face lit up like it was the sun with excitement, “Okay!! I promise you’re going to love it!” She said as she picked up the basket and grabbed Sonny’s hand, excitedly pulling her to the main building where she hoped would be the kitchen.

With the look of his puffy eyes and the worry of her face, May maintained a face that spiraled him into thoughts of being so weak and pathetic. Especially since at a while, his desired perception faltered as faster as the sun could go down. Of course, he rather pretended that nothing ever happened and made sure that her replies would go back to normal; well, just in case she would float round the topic. Of course, it was not long after that the topic switched around. Valentina asked a question if he had written poetry, especially having a face that looked to her usual self; smiling and curious. With a direct confusion to his face, he was dumbfounded to how a person like her can’t pick some context. Within a second, he took a huff as he replied back to her, “Yes. Absolutely. No man is sane to speak like a Shakespearean play unless they write like they tend flowers,” Pausing with a sense of relaxing his irritation, he looked back to her eyes, “Of course, it’s not just poems. I have written sonnets, some small books, and the like. Someone like me also strives for something… grandiose, like novels and plays.”
With his rush after noticing the professor coming near the classroom door, he was quite relieve that he wasn’t late like the first class. Too close, though. With Valentina and May next to a seat, a little in the back, she expressed relief in his warning. Despite this relief, he was rather tensed up as he sat down with stoic expressions as if he was focusing strictly to the teacher. Very studious, yet his mind worries if they were caught and may be facing some type of punishment. Luckily, they weren’t, and as the classes were calming down for May, he had loosen for a bit yet still maintained a zipped mouth.
Within a second, though, he finally uttered a word as he looked at Valentina, “Hey, erm… About the time we conversed in the halls… Well, I do apologize for my impertinence at the time, I had no intention to come out in such a mess. Just so you won’t feel pity around me all the time, I will be opening up to your mission of… whatever you want to do. I’ll give this idea of yours a chance,” With a pause for Valentina to give hope, he continues, “But… let it be sure that I can prove that this will soon end in tragedy. Something so sweet could be sucked of its original taste, sweltering down to nothing but air.”

Eugenia returned Alawa’s smile, happy she was happy. She cringed as Alawa suddenly dropped Ja-Ja, the bunny faceplanting into the floor with an “Ouch!” “Are you ok?!” Eugenia yelped, in unison with Alawa. It appeared Alawa could understand him too. “You understand him?” She asked, excited at the prospect of someone else understanding animals. Eugenia thought about Alawa’s offer, nodding. “Ok! It sounds fun!”

ORP: Sorry it’s been so long, the date was supposed to last like 2 hours and I don’t even know how much time I spent I just know I came back home and it was dark
“I was frozen by …” And then I shut up. Why should I tell him how people froze me and why did I say so much about myself? Did I not find enough ways to talk about myself in my life it’s all coming out now? No, I can’t let it all come out now, I don’t want this human to know about me because suspiciously he asks me to tell him all about myself but hasn’t said a word about him. So I shut up and asked him how he brushed his teeth instead. He answered “With a brush.” I rolled my eyes “Well yes, genius that’s how you’re supposed to brush them, I mean what kind of products do you make to clean your teeth with?” I mumbled a bit at the end when the man pushed some muck into my teeth. It smelled like a mint but I’ve never actually tasted one before so that was quite surprising. “For god’s sake, are you trying to prepare me for my burial or what? I don’t stink you just washed me!”

My mouth opened and my eyes widened as she made an impression “You know the book?” I smiled knowing how good the books is. Tolkien made whole languages in his books and the backstories are all so good! The story itself is magnificent and the history of the world he created is magnificent. “That is among my favorite books. Probably my favorite book.” I smiled. This was a very happy surprise. I knew she read but didn’t realize somebody who likes to read probably knows this great book.
“Are you new in here” I asked. If he was new we could figure out what it’s like in here together, because doing it on your own is much harder and you have to ask older people who already know most of it and you feel like you’re bothering them, but if you do it with somebody else you don’t feel so alone in this. However if he was to say no, he’d be the one to ask if I had any questions.

“You understand him?” Alawa smiled and nodded, “I can!”
After some time, they parted ways and Alawa went to her class. Alawa sighted as she checked her watch and saw she was 2 seconds late, ‘oh no’ Alawa said. Now the teacher might think of her as a disappointment, maybe it was true, what does mean royal bullies said to her when she was 5 that she was a disappointment and weak. Alawa sniffled a little. ‘Don’t cry Lawa’ Her rabbit said as Alawa entered the classroom. And Alawa nodded. If she cried too much they might think of her as a cry-baby.
Alawa put Ja-ja in her backpack and looked at the classroom, she shivered a little from the cold. The walls were the color of the beautiful obsidian, the desks were arranged in neat rows and the atmosphere was so magical. ‘Wow’ Alawa said, was this how ‘normal’ school were? Alawa was homeschooled in her kingdom for most of her life so she wouldn’t have known. She gave a curtsy to the teacher and went to find a seat, she looked around until she found a seat near a handsome young man. “Hello senior” she greeted as she sat down.

sorry it’s bad, I had no idea what to write-

“Well yes, genius that’s how you’re supposed to brush them," Colden shook his head, “Actually bull, ancient people or more specifically ancient europeans- God, the ancient Europeans were really dirty compared to ancient Americans, Africans and Asians. Anyway, Ancient Europeans used rags dipped in salt or soot to wipe their teeth A French doctor named Pierre Fauchard, believe it or not, advised patients not to brush in the early 1700s. He is also known as the “Father of Modern Dentistry.” Instead, he advised using a toothpick or a sponge soaked in water or brandy to clean your teeth. And You’re the child of the minotaur right? Who was birthed in ancient Rome and that is the reason I said with a brush, because your people did not use brushes before.” Colden smart@ss said. , "I mean what kind of products do you make to clean your teeth with?” As Colden cleaned Alciabiades dirty, dirty teeth he muttered. “Toothpaste” he simply said . "I don’t stink you just washed me!” Colden wrinkled his nose “Be quiet, your breath stinks.”
“You are very wrong.” I said. “You should trust my word because I lived back in those times. There was a lot of hygiene, especially in rome. The most certainly used brushes for their teeth.” I looked down “They looked a bit striaghter than this brush though, but they were for the same purpose nonetheless. Ancient Egyptians made the first toothpaste, I’m not sure what it was made of, but ours in Greece and Rome were made with either crushed up bone and shelves or some other herbs. But this herb, the mint, I recognize it’s smell, was mostly used on dead people to hide the smell of the rotting body during the funeral. It could’ve also been used as an early perfume. Also just so you know Roman soldiers were provided with thermae and latrines. Thermae’s are bath houses I just realised you probably didn’t understand that. But thermal baths are still used all over the world. In Ancient Greece where I lived most of my life, we used to bath for aesthetic reasons, but we didn’t use this block thing” I said as I picked up this sticky bar that left bubble residue on my hands as I touched it and tried to remember the word “Soap. No we used many things, but most commonly used is oils and the strigil. But the strigil was used mostly by men even thought women also used them from time to time.” I looked at him “How does soap get rid of the dirt though? I understand you can scrape the dirt of with the strigil before finishing your bath, but the soap does nothing, no?”

“You should trust my word because I lived back in those times. There was a lot of hygiene, especially in rome. The most certainly used brushes for their teeth.” Colden smiled, the kid (ok well he was more older than him) had no idea Colden also had a friend from the ancient past, well he was more of Theorous friend. And he was from rome and although h there were many sewers, public latrines, baths and other sanitation infrastructure, disease was still rampant. The baths are known to symbolise the “great hygiene of Rome”. Although the baths may have made the Romans smell good, they were a cesspool of waterborne diseases. -credit to google But he decided not say anything, and the fact that Alcibiades did not correct him when he said the minotaur was from rome instead of Greece made him question his intelligence and how much he forgot from being stuck inside ice. Also the fact he never said anything about him having the power to control ice when he froze him, a mistake on his part but he was glad he met someone who was so dumb they forgot and kept thinking of him as human.
“How does soap get rid of the dirt though? I understand you can scrape the dirt of with the strigil before finishing your bath, but the soap does nothing, no?” Colden look digusted, he was talking of the great hygiene of ancient europe (which didn’t exist until the Egyptians and the moors helped them as proven and studied also the fact native americans when they first smelt the europeans were disgusted) but here he is. Another reason not to believe him. “What?” he asked as he dropped the brush.
“What?” Asked the man and I explained myself “Well the soap … I suppose it does smell sweet and you smell just as good after you’ve used it, but how does it get the dirt of you? I mean when you apply soap while the water is running down on you, do you scrubb it away with your bare hands? I have to admit, that’s what I’ve been doing since you people don’t have a strigil. Was I doing it right?” I asked. Before he could say anything I also asked “Also, what products do you use on hair? My mother used certain oils and herbs on my hair, and that would clean it. I didn’t know how much … well” I chuckled as I said this “shampoo” and then I continued in a serious tone “How much shampoo to use. Considering the fact we’d use a big amount of oils and herbs back then, I just learned, because of you, that I’ve been using too much. It’s so nice to see my hair brought back to it’s former glory. I just thought you had horrible products for hair. Also, before coming into a new town my mother would always making me look nicer by using a calamistrum on the hairs on my head. Could you maybe … curl my hair for me, just slightly to take me back … God I haven’t seen her is soo long.”

Sonny smiled gently, glad they had been able to reassure Autumn a bit. They were an excellent listener, they always had been. With the apples clustered close to their uniformed chest, they listened as Autumn spoke about how much she loved harvesting and baking, she always had. As she spoke about her childhood, Autumn became much more talkative than usual, speaking of her past with gentle fondness. Sonny wished they could do the same-while their childhood was utopian, the recent years shrouded over, filling them with regret. They could almost taste the pie Autumn described in great detail-the frosty ice cream, the flaky gilded crust, the tangy apple flesh underneath the top layer. She sighed-a happy shudder. She never seemed to snap out of her dreamlike state, keeping her wistful smile. She seemed to know so much about herself-Sonny knew their passions, though they didn’t have anyone they really wanted to be. They just wanted to be their own person. They supposed they had…forever to live, so it didn’t matter too much, they could do anything and everything. “Well…I mean, if you really do enjoy it, I would love to try one of your pies.” Sonny said, smiling genuinely. “Thank you for sharing that with me. The way you told that story was breathtaking. I can imagine all the flavors and colors… I bet that was the best pie ever.” They wanted to hear more about the colors so they could imagine it in even more vivid detail-but Autumn had finally opened up, and they weren’t going to ruin it.
Autumn picked up the basket and grabbed Sonny’s hand, excited grin on her face, deep blush on Sonny’s as they raced towards the looming white castle. Sonny was able to keep up, but still let Autumn drag them along like a kite, growing just as excited. “I’m convinced it will be the best I’ve ever had.” They guaranteed behind her. The building grew closer, and Sonny spoke once more, “We could go to my dorm, if you wanted. Though I don’t know if I have all the ingredients for apple pie.” Stupid! Sonny scolded themselves for bringing that up. “…On second thought…maybe not mine. If you don’t want me in your dorm I get that though!” They sounded a teeny bit less chill than normal-they were still quite embarrassed with themselves.

I mean when you apply soap while the water is running down on you, do you scrubb it away with your bare hands? I have to admit, that’s what I’ve been doing since you people don’t have a strigil. Was I doing it right?” Colden cringed. Sure he didn’t have to be perfect with his hygiene (well he has to be to Colden but lets ignore that) the world was beautiful but not perfect, but the fact he asked that. Colden shuddered, being lock in ice when you were born in the ancient years can do unspeakable things to you, can’t it? The thought of the hygiene there made Colden internally puke, the thought made him shudder a little, he was reminded by the sigh of Theorous boxers that was really really dirty and laying on the ground. It was really disgusting, and he made Theorous serve a punishment for that. “You use a sponge to wipe the dirt, cow. Scrub the dirt off, it does the trick very well.”
“Also, what products do you use on hair? My mother used certain oils and herbs on my hair, and that would clean it. I didn’t know how much … well” Colden eyes widened in horror, his stoic face completely fallen. There was just so much oil and herbs could do for the hair and too much oil would make your hair all greasy and horrid. “I use a product called winterion calliot, a type of shampoo” a type of shampoo he had made himself. “How much shampoo to use. Considering the fact we’d use a big amount of oils and herbs back then, I just learned, because of you, that I’ve been using too much. It’s so nice to see my hair brought back to it’s former glory. Could you maybe … curl my hair for me, just slightly to take me back … God I haven’t seen her is soo long.” When Alcibiades asked for him to curl his hair, his first thought was to reject and go back to class but he realized he could trick Colden into telling him more about his past, “Sure” he said as he searched his back, hopefully to find a hair curlier and successfully he did.

She was extremely curious as to why Cotton was so dead-set on teaching Mei how to do a chignon. She raised an eyebrow as Cotton continued her explanation, which Mei felt was a little unnecessary as she could very obviously see the chignon Cotton was wearing, but Mei was near positive Cotton had no malintent in her over-explanation so Mei kept quiet. “Why…” she didn’t know what to say. She sighed and shook her head, lifting her shoulders as she did so. “Seeing as you’re so passionate about the subject, I suppose there’s no harm in learning how to do one. Perhaps… it will prove as a useful way to tie up my hair in battle.” Though her thought process was unorthodox, the idea behind it was genuine.
Mei let out a small chuckle and tilted her head slightly to her right. “Who said I wasn’t stressed?” Mei was only slightly offended. Did Cotton really think that she was just some run-of-the-mill girl who had everything easy and handed to her on a silver platter? “Sometimes we need to make a sacrifice to achieve things. If you’re expected to do something, you’ll do it. That’s how life works. There’s no room in the Halls of the Great for those who didn’t risk anything and instead spent their prime years doing nothing of consequence.”
She had to admit, Mei needed help with fashion. She had never managed to dress herself for social gatherings as the colors clashed or some other unimportant and ridiculous social rules were thrown upon her. “Well… that is certainly interesting. I suppose we all have our own strengths. Say… there are often more professional things that I need to attend and I could definitely improve as choosing outfits and accessories. Perhaps you could go to the town with me and help me find some clothes that would be good for said occasions? I’m sure we could work out some way for me to repay you.”

“Are you going to be sick? Do you need me to escort you to the nurse’s office?”
Joelene looked at him. “I was gagging because of you, troglodyte. Do not try to make it look like you care. Because if I was sick, I would tell someone who is not a sleazebag,” Joelene explained. She assumed he was acting. No one’s eyes would ever go that wide from one gag.
“…I like all of those, too. Especially marinated chicken. One of my neighbors made the best version-they brought it to every potluck.”
She was pleasently surprised. Kaden did not seem like someone who would have tastebuds. “Well, at least you know what chicken is. I was worried your tiny brain would not even know. Especially with how stick like you are,” Joelene snickered. Still, he was disgusting for eating that much porridge. She’d never want to meet or visit his family, that’s for sure.
“But a smile is not “out of style” during a funeral, it is just not appropriate. Those are different-at least I think so.”
“Yes, it is for you, doofus. Now take it before I decide to slam it into that curly blonde head. My arm feels like it will fall off any second. And a smile smiles are clearly out of style. Some people look ugly with smiles, like you, for example,” Joelene snapped back with a huff. The boy was annoying with his persistence of smiles were creepy, not to mention how he acted. Perhaps he was just misguided. Joelene accidentally thought aloud, “Either way, he would never get a lover how he is now.”
@ethereal ~ Joelene This is just to bridge the gap and give Kaden a break. Next will either be nice or mean. It depends

As May stared at her like her brain was no bigger than a grape, Valentina felt as if Eros, too, were judging her from above, criticizing her every word towards the droopy-eyed boy in front of her. Valentina was a cupid-she was supposed to take every microscopic bit of information she could, and analyze it-figuring out exactly who a person was, who they would be compatible with, and what they wanted. And something as simple of this…Valentina was not one to get sidetracked from her goals, but her brown eyes flicked away from May’s as her smile turned sorrowful with self-disappointment.
He then huffed, loud enough for Valentina-who was quite attentive now-to hear, then responded, “Yes. Absolutely. No man is sane to speak like a Shakespearean play unless they write like they tend flowers.” That was beautiful. Her smile was a bit sweeter now as she listened. “Of course, it’s not just poems. I have written sonnets, some small books, and the like. Someone like me also strives for something…grandiose, like novels and plays.” Her eyes widened, she was quite interested in things like theatre and plays, which could include another one of her interests-poetry. Perhaps May would be compatible with someone who shared his passion. That way, the two could have cute writing dates at the shop or on a picnic, perhaps. They could write poems and letters to each other too, ones as beautiful as the way May spoke. He would at least need someone that approved and supported these hobbies, anyways. Valentina wondered May’s orientation, but she didn’t dare poke her nose in that. He’d spoken about a boy-so he liked boys. She wondered if he liked people other than boys-she felt absolutely no attraction to her coming from him, but this was likely because she was a nuisance to him, and not his type at all.
“Agreed. They sound absolutely wonderful-if the way you speak is this eloquent, I can’t possibly imagine what your writings are like.” Valentina said, voice dripping with sugary sweetness as she gave him a smile-not too broad and over the top, though. She did not yet ask to see them.
For a while, the two did not speak, May’s face still as a stone statue as he watched the teacher-Tal-speak. Valentina, meanwhile, listened as she unpacked her belongings-two notebooks and a pen with a pink fluffy tip. The feathers on the end fanned through the air as she wrote, the tip spilling glittery pink ink. Her Chemythstry notebook was a rose-gold color, the same as her textbook marked with silver engravings. The other notebook she took out was a hotter pink that matched the plume of her pen. That notebook was for people watching and taking notes on her peers-what they were like and if they seemed to have a crush on anyone. She turned to a fresh page. Meanwhile, the classwork assignment was to create a potion of her choice. She smiled secretly-a love potion perhaps? Or was that too predictable? “What are you thinking?” She whispered to May in regards to the potion he would have to concoct.
May shifted in order to face Valentina and speak to her. She met him with expectant eyes and a slightly tilted head, quite open and excited to hear what he had to say. “Hey, erm… about the time we conversed in the halls…Well, I do apologize for my impertinence at the time, I had no intention to come out in such a mess.” She gave a more sympathetic smile at this. “Just so you won’t feel pity around me all the time, I will be opening up to your mission of…whatever you want me to do.” Valentina’s heart rose like a hot-air balloon, trembling with tension and about to burst into colorful pieces. She pressed her lips together, wiggling excitedly in her seat like a pink-haired worm. She had to wait until he was done speaking, though. “But… let it be sure that I can prove that this will soon end in tragedy. Something so sweet could be sucked of its original taste, sweltering down to nothing but air.” Despite her eyes widening with a slight bit of fear, Valentina’s toothy smile did not wave. When she was certain May was done speaking, she decided to revert to her old ways and bombard him with enthusiastic questions. She whispered to May in regards to the potion he would have to concoct.

Her eyes sparkles with determination and enthusiasm, full lips stretched into a cheshire-like smile, everything about her seemed to be beaming and shining with bliss. “I accept!!” Valentina crowed-similar to a battle cry, but not quite as loud as one. “Thank you, thank you! You won’t regret this.” She showed no fear. This was her first mission of the year!! Finding May someone he would be happy with, someone he could make romantic memories with. Quickly, she wrote down the name “May” at the top of the blank, pink notebook page, scented lightly with rose perfume. Folding her legs, potion forgotten, she prepared to take notes. “Alright, alright, I’ll try not to be too nosy, but as your official cupid and matchmaker, I need to ask you some basic questions.” She looked at him with hope behind her eyes-hope that would be shattered into a million pieces if May changed his mind. “In return, you are free to ask me whatever you want. I’m an open book, as you should know by now.” She grinned teasingly at the boy in front of her, the pen wiggling in her fingers, sharing her excitement.
“I am under the assumption your ideal partner would be strictly male. I don’t wish to assume though! So if you could enlighten me on this…” She blushed, looking away bashfully. It was quite the awkward question. But now that it was out of the way… “I also predict you would flourish in a relationship with someone who shares or supports your way with words-please, if at any time I am incorrect, let me know-as well as someone who is patient and shares some of your other passions. What I cannot yet predict is what your “type” is, or if you have one at all. I know this is a bit awkward, but I’d never tell anyone or judge you-cupid’s honor/” She patted her chest, keeping her smile, trying to create a warm and open atmosphere where he would feel comfortable telling her these things. “Lastly-for now-am I right in presuming I get only one chance? Is there a deadline? And please, any questions you have, ask me, and I will do my very best to answer.” Her eyes gleamed with passion as she spoke-she was a natural, and completely in love with her occupation.
