CAMERON CANES - COVE

Cameron chuckled as she gave him multiple looks. most of them were chastising ones, and all of them were cute as heck. He was glad that she agreed that they didn’t need to leave the cove. he loved it here. It was quiet, peaceful, and most importantly private. There was no curfew or dorm inspection either which was awesome.
As Cameron mentioned the fish, he watched her eyes grow impossibly wide, and her legs tense slightly as she obviously wanted to go see it.
“Mine is most definitely bigger than yours,” Cameron joked, smiling kindly. “Although I think it caught me, rather than me it.” As she tried to insinuate that he wouldn’t cook for her, Cameron shook his head.
“Not a chance,” He said, grinning. “I have big plans for that fish.”

“Cam, that’s so cool!!! You should’ve told me,” Bay exclaimed as he finished, shaking his shoulder. “Do it! I wanna see!”
Pressing his lips together, Cameron shook his head. “It’s too embarrassing, trust me. I turn into a biscuit for god’s sake.”
When she asked about the gingerbread, Cameron knew in his heart that she wasn’t going to let this go.
“…Fine, alright then.” Exhalling loudly, Cameron grabbed the cove wall and attempted standing. The gingerbread wasn’t gonna mix itself.

”Oh! Like MnMs!”
The girl smiled ”Ooh I like those they’re tasty” she said ”Now i want” she added and smiled as the girl told her she was not officially m&m.
When she told her she liked it when people play with her hair, the girl responded with an excited smile and started playing with her hair again, telling her he’s hair was soft and asking what hairstyles she had done, ”I don’t know I don’t really do too many hairstyles I just let it grow it’s fun” she said with a shrug. ”I braid it sometimes” she added answering her question ”Or like, do two small braids in the front” she said and opened her phone to show her an example ”Like this” she said showing her a picture of her with the hair like that.
“How do you like the school? Why did you decide to go?”
”I think I like it” she said ”I went looking around yesterday, this place is so big” she added emphasising the so, as the place was indeed very big. ”Who is-“ She asked, and Maya raised her brow, ”Who is… My parent?” she asked, assuming and completing the question in her mind ”My mother is Adella, one of the seven princesses of Atlantica” she explained, even though she wasn’t necessarily proud of it, the relationship between her and her mother was quite complicated ”And yes, I am a mermaid” she added before the girl could even ask ”Who’s yours?” she asked curiously.

“F-cks sake.” The boy muttered when his plan failed. Ace laughed cruelly, looking down at him. “Oh, so the little b-tch can talk,” he said mockingly. He missed the boy’s nose, hitting his cheek instead. But, when his face twisted with pain, Ace felt successful anyways. However, he wasn’t smiling for long, the boy grabbed him by the neck and punched him in the gut-hard. Ace choked, tiny beads of spit landing on his opponent’s clothing. This time, the boy succeeded in flipping Ace over. Now Ace was the one getting dirty-his iconic Letterman’s Jacket was covered in mud and peaches. This sh-t better wash out- His face was red with anger as he kept his shoulders somewhat hunched, ready to defend himself from the next attack.

He chuckled at her. Whenever he looked at her, she felt like the only girl in the entire kingdom-he made her feel special, like everything she did was adorable. That was one of the reasons she liked being around him so much-and living with him was amazing. They hadn’t had a single fight, despite what Bay had heard about couples who lived together. Besides, if they went back to OUAH, there was no way they’d be able to live together-boys and girls never got put into dorms with each other.

“Mine is most definitely bigger than yours,” he joked, “Although I think it caught me, rather than me it.” She giggled at this, although felt a bit bad, as the injury probably still hurt. “Fine, you win then,” she said, her tone upbeat. She wasn’t upset about losing-she just enjoyed a good competition. She finished wrapping the bandage around his leg and secured it-“How’s that?” She hoped she’d done a good job. “Not a chance.” Cam shook his head. “I have big plans for that fish.” “Well…if you insist,” Bay said. Inside, she really did want him to cook for her if he felt up for it. “You deserve to get revenge anyways!”

At first, he shook his head, which made her slump a bit. Did he think she’d make fun of him? “It’s too embarrassing, trust me.” She gave him puppy dog eyes, trying to convince him to change his mind. “You’ve seen me as a mermaid, though,” she pointed out, even though she knew the two were pretty different. “Fine, alright then.” He finally agreed, sighing loudly. “Yay!” She jumped to her feet, and did her best to help him up.

Fiona giggled as he chuckled, which was reassuring to Beckett, at least he knew she didn’t dislike him. She still managed to smile at Beckett as she spoke, catching onto his obvious confusion from earlier statement. Beckett flushed a little, was he that obvious? Yes, he was an open book and let his emotions show plainly upon his face as well. “It’s ok,” Beckett rubbed the back of his neck. “I get the general idea, I’m just your everyday commoner anyways I’m not used to the aristocrat speech.” Beckett grinned before adding, “I agree, spicy cheese fries are amazing. Especially when they’re fresh.” Beckett’s mouth nearly watered at the thought, he had only had coffee this morning after all. That was not a suitable meal for anyone, as pained as Beckett would be to admit it.

“Well, I mean if it isn’t too daunting for you.” Beckett’s voice dropped to conspiratorial whisper. “You could always break the dress code if you want.” Beckett’s eyes glimmered with a spark of mischief. “Either way, we always get Fridays to wear whatever we want, I would love to see your fashions if you don’t mind.” Beckett listened quietly as he explained her story’s origin and he noticed Fiona lost some of her smile from their early conversations. He nodded sympathetically before reassuring her, “Of course… No one’s as mean as the stories say. Either they’re worse… or they’re nicer. Besides, it’s not the losers who write the stories.” Beckett raised an eyebrow at the mention of her “shortcomings”. “What ‘shortcomings’ are those?”

Fiona’s eyes widened in excitement and Beckett was pleased to see someone else who entertained his French pride. “Oui, OUI je parle français.” His accent was perfect as he was native and he smiled as she continued to speak. “Yes, I speak French as my native language. I speak English because the entire world is going English,” he waved his hand dismissively. “Ugly language if you ask me, but your advisor is indeed correct.” Fiona was kind as his excitement bubbled over from the idea of ballet. “Wow,” Beckett gasped, impressed. “Imagine, I’m less graceful than a rug.” He shrugged slightly, he didn’t mind it though. “That’s good though, to learn grace and practice.”

Fiona murmured something to herself, almost as if sulking back into memories. Beckett was familiar with ruined feet and broken bodies from ballet dancers, he head of it often. Perhaps Fiona had experienced that…? “Yes, it does.” Beckett affirmed, offering a smile to Fiona.

Valencia noticed the anger that zipped through the girl, faster than lightning. The girl had schooled her face back into a small smile before turning her attention to Valencia. As the girl lifted her hands, Valencia noticed the white, dead grass under them. They must’ve been the child of a destructive fairytale character then… “Meh, I don’t really care. The grass’ll live…or it won’t” She had brushed off Valencia’s warning as she tugged back on her own gloves. Valencia didn’t recognize the accent that lined the girl’s words, it was definitely foreign, however. “I’m Ailbhe”. Valencia didn’t want to shake hands, she was already wary of the girl who had let anger break through her features already. Not scared, she had lived in Xibalba for most of her life, she was just wary. Still, throughout it she kept her face perfectly neutral, she was Valencia del Reyes. Bravery of the Kings. She didn’t need to fear. “I’m Valencia,” she reached out her own hands. Her hands managed to be dainty yet with small callouses on them still. She shook the pale girl’s hand, admiring her white hair for a moment before asking. “Is this your first year here?” She asked as she retracted her hand, letting it fall to her side.

Ivan leaned closer until his head rested on Aidene’s shoulder before he repeated her obviously, sarcastically. She didn’t move her shoulder though and just let him look, although she glanced towards him before turning to her pens. She noticed his eyes narrow and she half-smiled as she realized he was trying to understand her chaotic organizing. He lifted his head from his shoulder and pulled out a black pen, black mechanical pencil and a black click-clack eraser from his bag before asking. “So where would these belong in your…organization?” Aidene took the supplies from his hand, her own bushing against his and added them to her line-up, with the black pen at the very beginning of it, the black mechanical pencil in the middle and the black clickclack eraser at the end. If it were a normal organization where they were lined in color, the black supplies would’ve ruined the entire scheme. However, It fit right into the chaotic organization. “They would be… there.” Aidene answered after a pause, nodding and looking at Ivan. “Wow, not complimenting you again.” Ivan joked as he rubbed his forehead and Aidene. “These compliments come from your own choices, they’re particularly bad ones too.” Aidene pointed out, teasing him slightly. “L-O-V-E.” He spelled out, leaning forward. “T-O-L-E-R-A-T-E.” Aidene countered, leaning forward herself, her eyes meeting his. He thought for a moment before giving her a problem. “Four divided by 6. Aidene frowned, that was a simple question, it ended in a repeating decimal of course. She had memorized her multiplication and division tables as a kid and still recalled them. It was silly question in her opinion, and for a moment she wondered if he was joking with her. Still, she wrote out the problem on paper with a simple rounded equal sign followed by the rounded answer. 4 ÷ 6 ≈ .667 She looked over towards Ivan before saying, “It’s a repeating decimal so it’d just be better to round to the nearest hundredth.” She drew a line under the problem to separate it from the rest of the page. “Anything else, something preferably challenging?”

“Ooh I like those, they’re tasty,” Maya said. “Now I want.” “Wait a second,” Camilla told her, holding out a finger. She picked up her purse from the chair next to her-a butter yellow purse that was shaped like a chicken. She dug around for a bit, but didn’t see any MnMs. She usually kept candies and sweets in her bag, as she was addicted to junk food. She took out a handful of gold-wrapped Hershey kisses-“Will these work?” She asked, offering them to MnM. “I don’t know, I don’t really do too many hairstyles, I just let it grow. It’s fun.” Maya shrugged while Camilla continued to touch her hair, twirling it around one finger. “How long have you been growing it out?” Maybe if Camilla started now, she could have very long hair by the time winter rolled around. Maya talked about braiding her hair, and even pulled up a photo of her with two small braids in the front, the rest of her hair down. She was also wearing pale green eyeshadow on both eyes. “Wow you look beautiful! I wonder if I could do my hair like that,” Camilla wondered aloud, her eyes glued to the photo.

“I think I like it.” Camilla nodded happily as Maya recalled the day before. Maya raised a brow, “Who is…my parent?” Camilla’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment-she had stopped speaking too late. “My mother is Adella, one of the seven princesses of Atlantica.” Maya explained. Camilla listened excitedly-she had always been fascinated with mermaids. “Wow, that’s so cool!!! You’re really lucky, I wish I was a mermaid, too!” She couldn’t believe Maya had guessed what her next question would be ahead of time. She tilted her head, “But you can also be a human?” The next question was expected, but still filled Camilla with anxiety- “Who’s yours?” Camilla didn’t want to lie, but… “It’s…Gaston,” she admitted, looking at her hands, her cheerfulness long gone. “But I’m nothing like him! I never even knew him or anything…” she continued loudly, trying to defend herself.

He realized a bit too late that perhaps he was erred in approaching the student, wincing as he watched a minute amount of coffee spill onto the page of some sort of journal or recordkeeping book. He only prayed the pages had been empty and nothing of importance had been marred with coffee. “Yes, much better ways than to wake up so early,” Aric nodded, taking note of the curtness in her voice. “I do apologize for that, I had no intentions of startling you.” He rubbed nervously at the cuffs of his sleeves, pulling them downwards to straighten them out.

It was then that he realized he had not managed to receive her name yet. He found that when he usually introduced himself, people either returned the notion with their own name or immediately swept into a bow. “What might I call you?” Part of him did feel obligated to change the conversation away from a common dislike, hoping they might find some semblance of relation through interests or mutual likes instead.

He paused awkwardly as the other student stared blankly, wondering if he had stumbled with his words. Don’t tell me I already messed up? He was also partially worried that perhaps he looked strange or was doing something that was considered to be rude. Wonderland could… definitely warp one’s perceptions of normality to say the least. After all, the food hadn’t burst out into song yet or tried to melt through the silverware. “Ah, thank you,” Clayton nodded as he noticed their extended arm.

Without thinking, his left arm shot directly towards it for a handshake, before his tray began to lose balance. He quickly jerked his arm back to support it, with the sudden motion only causing it to tilt even more. In the nick of time, his leg shot up onto the seat and balanced the tray with assistance from his knee. While he would like to think it looked cool, it probably looked more awkward and clumsy than anything. Clayton offered a small, nervous laugh as he set his tray down, only having lost some of the food to the floor which he promptly cleaned up. “Erm, sorry about that,” he smiled as he appropriately shook their hand. “Nice to meet you as well, Temni Bogynia. I’m Clayton Ezra Rabbit, but people just tend to call me Clay for short.” Please, please, please forget you saw me almost drop my tray.

“So, uh, how’s your first day?” It came out as an awkward squeak more than anything, a truly pitiful way to start off his first interaction.

“Your father has good taste in names it seems,” they laughed, before edging in a question they found useful. “Does he travel often or something of the sort?” Directness was an approach they would save for a more trusted time, for now, they would start off easy. “Ah, thank you. My name means ‘dark’ according to some, a meaning I find rather opposite of me.” Oh Gods above. They had just lied, a slip of the tongue so easy it fell off like raindrops from a gutter. Their magic flared up for a moment, causing the air in the room to turn sour momentarily. As if reigning in a wild horse, they snatched at the fleeting sparks and coiled it away, returning the air to normal.

With a small cough, they moved away from the sudden burst, hoping it would appear to be a minor relapse in smell, an odd incident without any trace back to them. “I have quite the feeling you’ll still grow to be one of my favorites here, Miss Valentina,” Hadrian smiled at them, catching the minor insinuation they had made. Friends, already? Is it truly that easy to make friends? How odd, though they supposed they had never really known how easy it was. When everyone avoided you constantly, how was one to make any allies?

“Ah, it was… an interesting place to grow up, that’s quite certain. But you are correct in assuming I could handle myself.” Not lies. Don’t try it. They scolded internally, as they realized how sincere the words had been. Perhaps it was the most honest Val would ever find them and she would never even know. “Alas, I certainly have time now to learn more about you. Come, where did you spend your youth? Perhaps it was some beautiful port near the sea or a rich farm bordering a lush forest?” I will try, try, and pry again, if I must.

She let him stay on her shoulder-surprisingly, or maybe she was too busy to notice. She even smiled slightly, though he doubted it was because he was there. As she took his supplies from him, their fingers touched, sending the tiniest bit of red across his cheeks. The feeling wasn’t new, and he didn’t know why he still turned red whenever they made contact. He watched as she placed the black pen at the very beginning, the pencil in the middle, and the black eraser at the end. “They would be…there.” Ivan stared at the strange arrangement, now even more confused than before. He also felt that the black supplies threw off the aesthetic-if there was one-of the red and orange ones. “I see…interesting,” Ivan mused, pretending he understood perfectly. “These compliments come from your own choices, they’re particularly bad ones, too.” Aidene told him, not showing any guilt. “Well, there won’t be any more coming,” Ivan lied stated. She leaned forwards, and his eyes widened slightly-now they were even closer than before. “T-O-L-E-R-A-T-E.” Ivan found his cheeks to be warm again, even though she wasn’t really complimenting him. “Aww, you can spell, I’m so proud.” She frowned, which made him wonder if he’d picked a question that was too hard. After a moment, she began to write out the problem, and solved it fairly quickly. Whe looked at him, explaining she had rounded the answer because it was a repeating decimal. Although it sounded vaguely familiar, Ivan felt a bit lost. “Anything else, something preferably challenging?” Ivan sniffed, “I guess I went too easy on you, there, kiddo.” This time, he thought of a harder problem, “One-half divided by eight, times five.” He added an extra step, to try to make it more complicated.

”Is that a chicken?” the girl asked as she watched Cami pick up her bag, yellow and shaped like a chicken ”That’s just iconic” she laughed, and nodded as the girl pulled out some Hershey’s “Will these work?” ”Any chocolate works” she said and took one, taking the wrapper off it ”thanks” she said and ate it.
“How long have you been growing it out?”
”Um… not sure. But I don’t really cut it at all, only if the ends get really bad” she said with a light shrug while her hand played with the chocolate wrapper

“Wow you look beautiful! I wonder if I could do my hair like that,”
”Aah thank you!” she grinned at the compliments the girl kept showering her with ”Well you can” she said ”Maybe you should try, see if it fits you” she suggested looking at Cami trying to imagine how that would look on her.

“Wow, that’s so cool!!! You’re really lucky, I wish I was a mermaid, too!”
”Definitely has it’s perks” she said with a smile, ”the inside of the ocean is beautiful, I wish I could show you” she added
”But you can also be a human?”
”I do have legs don’t I?” she said with a playfully raised brow moving her legs a bit glancing down at them. She did love the sea, it was a beautiful place and her home, but she wanted to see things, there was so much to explore on land she just needed the legs for. ”Magic” she smirked

“It’s…Gaston,” she admitted, her tone going more insecure, as she started explaining herself trying to prove she’s not as bad as her dad. ”Its okay you don’t need to defend yourself I don’t judge you for that” she said reassuring her ”you’re a person on your own, you’re not your father” she shrugged, just as she wasn’t her mother.

Ivan stared at the chaotic arrangement of the supplies before musing, “I see…interesting,”. Did he figure it out? She thought he still seemed a little confused, but perhaps he understood. “Do you understand, now? What they’re arranged by.” Aidene asked, tilting her head to the side a little. “Well, there won’t be any more coming,” Aidene made a face at the statement but didn’t offer a response. His eyes widened when she leaned forward, was she too close? She backed away an inch, warmth sweeping across her face. She held his eyes still, although little too long, studying them before her eyes flicked to his hair. “You didn’t gel your hair today,” She noticed. She recalled his hair getting drenched from yesterday, and her messing it up and burning his hat. Quickly, her mind ran through the days events, again. “Aww, you can spell, I’m so proud.” Aidene wrinkled her nose at that, before responding in an equal manner. “And you can comprehend what I’m saying, I’m so proud.” Aidene was dyslexic, if he had written out the word it would’ve taken her too long to have figured it out. Dyslexia just made English difficult in general and if it wasn’t for her father making her practice she would have worse communication skills in English. “I guess I went too easy on you, there, kiddo.” “Sure, old man.” She muttered under her breath, but she still smiled from the nickname. She waited patiently as Ivan gave her another problem. “One-half divided by eight, times five.” Better, but still easy. She wrote out the problem, using the PEMDAS method (1/2 / 8) x 2 and then simplified from there. It didn’t take her too long, perhaps around 3 or 4 minutes before she circled a final response on her paper. 0.125. She pointed to the answer with her pointer finger before asking. “Do I get to ask you a question now?”

“Your father has good taste in names it seems,” Hadrian said with a laugh. Valentina nodded humbly, agreeing. She even had to admit Amius wasn’t a terrible name-even though hearing it made her blood boil. “Does he travel often or something of the sort?” Valentina smiled a bit as she thought of Eros-“You could say that.” Again, she didn’t want to speak too much about herself-she wanted to gather as much information as possible. “Ah, thank you. My name means ‘dark’ according to some, a meaning I find rather opposite of me…” As they said this, something filled the air-something sour and nasty. Valentina sniffed, and looked around-that couldn’t be Hadrian? The classroom had plenty of other students, many of them possessing magic, so she tried not to get too suspicious. Maybe it was just her… “Well, even though it doesn’t fit you, it’s still a very nice name,” Valentina said. The word “Dark” didn’t seem to fit Hadrian at all-even his hair was light-colored. And very shippable, she added to herself.

Hadrian coughed-maybe at what had just happened? “Did you feel that too?” Valentina asked them. Though she didn’t suspect them of anything, her tone was suspicious. “I have quite the feeling you’ll still grow to be one of my favorites here, Miss Valentina,” Hadrian said with a kind smile. Valentina blushed yet again-she wasn’t used to her peers seeing her in the spotlight. She was the pink-haired girl or Cupid’s daughter-never a favorite to anyone. Although she didn’t hate the attention, it was definitely new. “Stop, you’re too kind. I think the same towards you, Hadrian.”

Hadrian agreed it was an interesting place to grow up and they could handle themselves. She grinned at them-they sounded like they were a fun child. “Alas, I certainly have time now to learn more about you. Come, where did you spend your youth? Perhaps it was some beautiful port near the sea or a rich farm bordering a lush forest?” Valentina listened as Hadrian spoke, giving detailed guesses as to where she grew up. Why did they care so much about her? Maybe they were just the rare type of person that didn’t go on about themselves much. “Well, if you insist on knowing,” she said, smiling broadly, “I grew up on Mount Olympus. My Dad is Eros. It’s a lovely place, though…I guess it could be a bit much sometimes.” She thought for a moment, “The scenery was pretty beautiful-everything felt fresh and…glistening.” She said, trying to use detail like Hadrian had/

Although Syrus wasn’t sure why they flinched, he was glad that he had stopped attempting to touch their eye when he did. That must have been wrong, making a mental note that touching people in the land of life was a bad thing.
“You-you’ve never cried? … People cry about lots of things. I seem to cry about everything.”
The person was talking so quietly that Syrus found it rather difficult to make out. Despite this, he still caught part of it. “What things to people cry about?” His softer melanochloic tone had returned to it’s rightful place, as he wasn’t bothering to try to act as the human they expected. “Why? Why do they cry?”
Waiting a moment, she then talked about her mother. Syrus didn’t notice how awkward the pause was. “Oh… yeah… my Mom’s a pixie from Pixie Hollow. And I’m not her…biological kid. She just raised me.” Those eyes watered again. “Down where?”
“What is Pixie Hollow? Is it from another mytholgy?” Looking behind him at a couple of other students hanging back, he looked at her, legs still bent, and gestured with his arm to move inside the classroom. “Yes, down. I’m not from this realm, I suppose.” His eyes dropped to the floor. “I’ve spent my life so far in the monotonous underworld.”

Danko was up early and waiting in the Castleteria, finishing off a piece of fruit with another in his pocket. Then the order was ready and he placed it on a tray, making his way back up to the dorm rooms. This was what he did, to show Quillian he cared, he made sure he had breakfast.
"Ahem,’ came a noise from the doorway. Quillan looked up, irritated, taking another bite from his apple. It was Danko, clearing his throat, he had just entered dorm 158. Quillian glared at him from behind his glasses and Danko walked over with a breakfast. He gone down to the castleteria to fetch him some. Quillian sat up to look at the tray, as Danko asked, “What do you think, Quill? Do you think it looks good?”
Quillan shook his head, making Danko gulp. “Probs not.” A rather timid-looking Danko bent over to place the tray on the bed. Before he stood again, Quillian put his hand to Danko’s cheek, running it down to his chin, and told him with a kind of pretend compassion, yet callous way, “I’m shook. This basic as breakfast was very sweet of you to bring me.” He winked. “I always love when you do this.” He looked back down at his phone and started frantically texting as Danko made his way back to door. As he opened it, Danko’s phone beeped and he checked it.

A message from Quillian:
"Hope 2 C U in class. T. T. F. N.”

Danko pulled at his uniform nervously, feeling a little giddy by the text. Then he left the room. Pulling out his map and schedule to diligently follow them to his first class. When he reached the class, he looked around for a free desk. Seeing one with someone near it, he timidly approached the person. “Excuse me, would you mind moving so I can take this seat or are you sitting here?”, he asked her politely.

Quillan was already awake, biting into the juicy red apple that Danko had left on his night stand the previous day while scolling through FairyTok (TikTok) videos. He was still liking the idea of going to learn more magic and expand on the craft, now that he was here, and had already memorised his schedule and where the classes were.

20 minutes later, once showered and changed, he went down to class. Sitting on a bench top off to the side, he pullled out his phone and scrolling through this morning’s ‘just woke up’ pictures.

”Is that a good thing?” The girl raised a brow questioningly. ”I’ll take it as a compliment, I like dogs”
Robin’s eyes widen in alarm. “Oh, yes, sorry.” Her soft-spoken voice was a little flustered in reply. “I only meant it as a compliment. I love animals, you see. I tend to use them a lot in comparisons.” They gave the girl standing before them a genuine smile. “I didn’t mean to offend, I’m sorry if I did.” Robin felt incredibly guilty that they’d offended someone already. Their nerves got the best of them and their mouth just kept talking. “Animals can be great friends. They really can understand you. Do you like animals? What’s your favourite?”

“Is that a chicken?” Maya asked when Camilla set her purse in her lap. “That’s just iconic.” Camilla gasped at this-Betty? Iconic? Usually people thought it was weird she owned such a purse, but Maya didn’t seem to be judging her… “Her name is Betty, actually! She is a chicken! I’ve actually had her since I was really young,” Camilla shared enthusiastically. “Any chocolate works.” Maya took one of the chocolates and unwrapped it. “Thanks.” “No problem!” Camilla was always happy to share, especially if it meant improving a friendship. She set the rest of the candies between her and Maya before taking one for herself. “Um…not sure. But I don’t really cut it at all, only if the ends get really bad.” Maya told her, fiddling with the wrapper. “Really bad?” Camilla echoed, not being able to see how Maya’s hair could ever be ‘really bad’. She would do her best to remember this, she didn’t usually cut her hair often anyways.

“Aah, thank you!” Maya said with a grin. “Maybe you should try, see if it fits you.” Camilla nodded, thinking. She wasn’t great at doing her hair, which was part of the reason it wasn’t very long and it was only in a ponytail. She didn’t have much experience with braiding, although she did know how to. “Okay! I’ll try tomorrow!” Camilla said with a bright grin. “Maybe we can match!” “Definitely has its perks. The inside of the ocean is beautiful, I wish I could show you.” Camilla’s eyes sparkled longingly-she also wished Maya could show her the ocean-she had only been to the beach one time and that was with… She frowned, her eyes filled with even more longing. She didn’t want to think about him. “I wish you could, too! Maybe we could find a way!!” Camilla said, trying to get out of her Ryuu-funk. “I do have legs, don’t I?” She raised an eyebrow playfully, and glanced down at her legs-Camilla’s eyes followed.

“Yes, of course!” Camilla agreed. Then, remembering the tale of the little mermaid, she gasped with fear. “Did you have to trade something to get them?” She smirked, saying only one word-“Magic.” “Magic…” Camilla echoed softly-she was awfully scared of magic-users, though Maya did seem nice. Still, so had Caela… “Are you a magic user?” She asked Maya, trying not to show her fear. “It’s okay, you don’t need to defend yourself, I don’t judge you for that,” Maya reassured her. Camilla looked up at her to see her expression-she looked kind and genuine. “You’re a person on your own, you’re not your father.” Camilla bit her lip and mustered her most genuine smile in return. She needed to hear that-it was hard to believe, but easier coming from someone else. “You really think so?”

Hilda nodded when Eun said she didn’t do sexist uniforms and dress codes. “Yeah, I feel like a sheep.” They said, their mouth quirking up ever so slightly, their tail twitching in their pants. Hilda smiled at Eun when they sighed in unison, letting out a short laugh. Eun said she hoped they treated the geese ok, and Hilda nodded. “Maybe we can go see. It’s better to know. Tristan Westergaard
|| With Porcelain || in School Hallway ||

“Are you colorblind as well as dumb? They’re completely different,”

She had finally said it, no more insinuating. Tristan gave an unamused look at the girl. “Do you see glasses on this perfectly chiseled face? 'Cause I don’t. Besides, what’s so bad about having white hair? It does suit you, and it doesn’t look half bad, either.” Tristan winked at her, something he usually saved when trying to get girls to like him. He, however, had a feeling that this wasn’t going to happen.

Okay, she definitely wasn’t scared. She was angry, and that was proven by the terrifying look she gave Tristan. If anything, he was scared. He was used to rejection, and a slap across the face, but no one had ever seemed to actively hate him. Any normal person would have left this girl alone. Except Tristan wasn’t normal - he liked making people angry. And he was interested in whatever was happening with this girl. The girl released his arm, which he rubbed with a hurt look on his face, along with giving a key piece of information - her name. Her name that caused Tristan to burst out laughing. “Your name is what? Like, a porcelain doll? Your skin is pale but wow your parents must hate you. I mean, seriously who names a kid after a fragile child’s toy?”

“Ha! You think much too highly of yourself, Blondie,”

She started walking away, and you bet your buttons that Tristan was following her. “Big words coming from someone named Porcelain. There is no way that is your real name. If it is, I take back every mean thing I said about your hair because you obviously have much more misfortune than any human ever needs.”

Isaiah Westergaard
|| With Laurie || in Castleteria ||

Once again, Isaiah was surprised when Laurie pat him on the back. Again, Isaiah wasn’t used to his kind of affection. “Perhaps,” Isaiah replied to his question, “depends on how much time I have in between homework and school.” Isaiah wanted to relax more, but he felt useless when he wasn’t doing anything. Laurie went out the door and Isaiah closed it behind them. In all honesty, Isaiah didn’t know where he was going. He didn’t want to ask for help, however, so the two ended up walking around aimlessly while Isaiah tried tried to use his sense of direction to find the castleteria. After ten minutes or so, Isaiah found it. Isaiah bought two Scrambled Golden Goose Egg & Gnome’s Miniature Garden Salad along with two Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice’s.
Isaiah took a seat at an empty table. “I’m so terribly sorry, I’ve been a bit off this past month and the school switch hasn’t been helpful. I’ve never even been to a proper school before, only home schooled.”

Aodghan MacCool
|| With Dieter || in Level Two Room 162 ||

Aodghan took a deep breath when Dieter admitted he couldn’t kill anyone be merely being in their presence. That was something, at least. He just wasn’t very happy at being told to calm down. “Calm down?” He asked, “CALM DOWN? You just told me your oul fella is death! How is that even possible? Death is a verb, not a noun! Or… is it? I DON"T KNOW AND I DON"T CARE FOR IT.” For the record, Aodghan wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed.

“I swear, I won’t hurt you. I’m not a monster.”

Aodghan glared at the boy. What was Aodghan supposed to be then, a little bunny? Yes, he was scared. Everyone in this situation would have been - or at least they should have been. But he had slowly been working up courage and Aodghan was more of an act now, think later kind of guy. At least he was after a little bit of contemplation. Aodghan steadied his voice, “Good, you better not. I’ve killed before and I’m not afraid to do so again, so don’t even think about hurting me or my sister.” Aodghan, had sadly killed before. It was to protect his tribe, it was what had to be done. If it had to be done again, so be it.

Calista
|| With Olive || in the Garden ||

Calista had spent the night in her sad and pathetic dorm. Despite being a demi god, she still needed sleep. Because that totally made sense. She was gone before her roommate could find her. This useless school had also made the dear mistake of telling her to wear an absolutely hideous outfit. To which Calista said absolutely no. She wore one of the dresses she had packed - it was short yet simple and went well with her hair.

However, Calista was feeling bored. And even more inclined to go for a walk, which is what she did. While out on this walk of hers, Calista came across a girl. Or at least who she assumed was a human girl. She had never met many human females and was rather bad at differentiating between the two. She sat down next to the girl on the rock, making sure the patch of rock was clean before sitting. She was quiet for a minute, then asked, “Is this what all human girls do? Sit on a rock while looking at water? I must admit, I was expecting more.” Maybe manipulating these fools would be easier than I thought.

|| With Rylan || in Mathematics ||

Pin was happy to hear that Rylan was continued the conversation, “I’m nineteen.” He responded, with a sweet smile on their face. “And you,” he asked, “How old are you?” Pin was glad to know that this school was definitely more accepting than Hien. At least he wasn’t as nervous, but he still kept their hands on their lap.

Pin was once again confused as Rylan now looked mad. Pin tilted their head at them and gave an apologetic look. “I’m sorry, did I offend you?” Pin once again lowered his head when he found out that Rylan had also been adopted. “So was I… I didn’t have a very nice experience. It was… well, let’s just say it wasn’t really a legal adoption.” Pin was saddened by remembering their past. Pin wanted a new start, so why was this the first that had been addressed. “But it’s not a misfortune. I’m actually quite fortunate that my parents saved me from a lifetime of slavery.” Okay, now Pin was just freaked out. Rylan seemed to have the exact opposite of a life as him. “Oh… that’s good. I was treated as a slave in my home,” Pin said very quietly, “But I learned how to dance. And speak English!” Pin spoke in a more positive tone, he hadn’t mean to ruin the mood.

“Yes, you. I don’t see anyone else around, do you?”

Alya paused once more for a second, “Touché,” she responded. Alya looked at Samantha with a curious look, that was weird. Normally the school was good at sending letters and contents. “I’m guessing you didn’t get the school uniform, either?” She acknowledged the black body suit this girl was wearing.

“Please, at least tell me you know where he is.”

Alya thought for a moment, did she know where he was? She racked her memory and stood there for a few minutes, even taking another bite of her toast. “Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss, I do. Come along,” she said after her pause. Alya started walking and expected the girl to follow after her. “Random question, why do you need to talk to the headmaster. Like, do you know why he wants you orrrrr?” She turned around to look at the girl, still oblivious to the possibility of her being a vampire.

KyleForlana
|| With Theodore || in Advanced Mathematics ||

Kyle had a late start, he had been up much too late last night studying for his mathematics class. Math was his best subject - after all, and didn’t want to come across as a dimwit. After getting dressed in the blindingly white uniform, he went to straight to class. Personally, he felt as though the coat tails where a bit too much. Maybe that was just him. He walked into his class with a white book bag. He had skipped breakfast, didn’t want to ruin his tux- or uniform after all.

He decided to sit next to the blonde and freckled girl with the mustard book bag. She had scribbled notes and maybe she could have helped him with a review before class. “Hi, I’m Kyle Forlana. I was wondering if you had any math notes I could borrow, not that I need them… but, uh, well I just like to… sometimes go over random people’s notes to make sure they didn’t do anything wrong.” Smooth, he thought to himself.

Aodghan suddenly began screaming at Dieter, yelling about how he wasn’t going to calm down. Dieter practically threw himself backwards, his back slamming into the countertop. Pain exploded in his spine, and he swore in German through gritted teeth. “Shiße! Das tat weh wie ein Arschloch!” He hissed, getting a feeling he should stay on the floor. Definitely didn’t want to look intimidating. What the hell happened? It was like a switch flipped in this guy’s brain! Dieter calmly nodded when Aodghan said he’d killed before. That didn’t bother him, of course. He was surrounded by death on an almost daily basis.

Aidene tilted her head to the side and asked him if he understood now. Ivan looked at her, not wanting to admit how stumped he was. “You know, princess, I’m starting to think there really isn’t any method to it at all,” He joked. She made a strange face, but gave no response. Her brown eyes widened and she backed away, as if she had realized how close she was. She seemed to study him for a bit before saying, “You didn’t gel your hair today.” Ivan looked up, as if he was checking on his hair. Although he was wearing a baseball cap to cover it, bits stuck out, showing he hadn’t taken the time to style it. He didn’t feel embarrassed, due to yesterday, she already knew how his hair looked without gel. He just hoped other people didn’t look into it too much, there’s a reason he was wearing a hat. “Now who’s checking who out?” He teased her. “What do you think?” She wrinkled her nose. “And you can comprehend what I’m saying, I’m so proud.” She said, in the same way he had. “So this is what it feels like-having someone who’s proud of you,” Ivan said, sighing dramatically. Glancing at an annoyed-looking Aidene, he said, “Isn’t what I expected.” “Sure, old man,” she muttered, somewhat darkly but he could see she was smiling. Guess you don’t mind too much, Ivan thought, smiling as well, but not bringing it up, knowing that doing so would make that beautiful smile disappear. He watched as she wrote out the problem, a bit bored, as it was math. A long time went by-he checked his watch occasionally-about three to four minutes. She circled her response instead of underlining it this time. Ivan looked at it, wondering if it was even right. Probably- he didn’t fully admit this, though. Instead, he said, “Not bad, kiddo.” “Do I get to ask you a question now?” Aidene asked. Ivan scowled slightly, his cheeks flushed-if he couldn’t solve this, he’d be humiliated. He didn’t want to be a hypocrite, though. “Sure. Ask away,” He said, smiling casually.

Aodghan MacCool

Aodghan raised and eyebrow when Dieter started speaking some language that was not English, “I swear if that was a curse I will crush every bone in your body.” Maybe Aodghan was going too far, but superstitions and curses were not something that he took lightly. It didn’t help that this kid was the son of Death, either. Yet Aodghan also felt a tinge of pity. Looking down at this fool on the floor, he looked even more ridiculous in the white uniform. Aodghan made sure to keep his stoic face before he pursed his lips, walked over to Dieter until he was towering over him, and said through gritted teeth, “Promise you won’t hurt me, my family, my clan, or my friends?” Some of Aodghan’s adrenaline had worn off and that similar shine of fear was seen in his dark eyes.
