It was a pleasant morning at Once Upon a High. The sky was cloudless and a bright robin’s egg blue. It was sunny, and if you listened hard enough, you could hear the chirping of birds and the scampering of chipmunks in the trees. It was the first day of classes at Once Upon a High, but no one was awake yet. The halls were empty, save a few cleaning fairies scrubbing the tile. Headmaster Grimm was in his office, of course at his desk scribbling furiously. Sweat dripped from his forehead and onto the yellow pages of the book he was writing in. He looked like he hadn’t slept all night-which he hadn’t-dark circles under his eyes, and messy white hair. He glanced up at the clock-it was almost time. He couldn’t stop now. He kept scribbling, the clock ticking as he did so.

The castleteria manager was stressed. It was the first day, but they were incredibly understaffed as well as behind. It seemed no one was listening to her, everyone doing something different. The eggs were blackening to a crisp, the ice cream maker had magic oozing out of the sides. How would she get everyone together? It wouldn’t be long before the students came in, expecting to be fed.

Kacie walked by only to her what sounded like complete chaos. “Do you need help with that, Miss?” She asked with a smile as she entered the kitchen. The smile disappeared as the woman explained and chaos still happened. “LISTEN UP!” Kacie grabbed a quick drink of water, she didn’t like yelling but everything that was happening was honestly a nightmare. She assessed the situation, noting the limited number of workers on duty as well as the increasing number of burnt food, “Ok, first everyone stop what you’re doing and go wash your hands. I don’t care if you already did, do it again. And you, put on a hairnet.” She washed her hands and put on a hairnet as well. Kacie then grabbed a menu off the wall, she glanced over it and nodded. “Ok, it looks like we have three flapjacks with a syrup river and 4 oinkers on the farm. There’s also…” She scanned the list muttering to herself and nodded before turning to the woman, “Ok, given the surprising number of extra crispy eggs, I’ll take the goose’s treasure chest with Mother Nature’s greens dish and the flapjacks, you give the rest dishes fitting their strengths then you will deliver the orders to us, got it?” The manager paused, her eyes wide. “…What she said.”

Soon, everything was alright, and the castleteria as well as the school hallways filled with the smells of a good, healthy breakfast. “Thank you so much for your help…” The woman paused, not even knowing the girl’s name. “Kacie.” She finished helpfully. “Oh! Yes. Thank you, Kacie.” The woman pulled out a few slightly crinkled golden tickets from her apron pocket. “Here, you can have these. Each of them is good for a free breakfast or dinner.” At first, the student humbly refused, but the woman insisted. After Kacie accepted, the room began to fill with more students, attracted to the smell.

The students were everywhere now-the hallways, classrooms, and Castleteria. Some dressed in uniforms, others not. Some hurrying for their classes, others seeing if they could get away with ditching. With so many different kinds of people, it was going to be an interesting first year let alone first day

♔ castleteria

students are free to grab breakfast in the castleteria [maybe even with a friend], however breakfast costs money. please check the student guidebook for the breakfast menu and how much each item costs. you can just say “she got her food and paid”, you don’t have to wait for me to rp the castleteria workers. student’s dorm pantries are stuffed full of food, so they can also make their own breakfast for free. or they can just not have breakfast/ditch and head into town for a restaurant.

♔ uniforms

students are required to wear uniforms which they received along with their invitation. check the student guidebook for dress code rules. however, they are free to break dress code and wear something else. if they do this, i will put them into a large wheel called the dress coding wheel of shame. the students the wheel pick will be warned and maybe even given a punishment.

characters & starting your intro posts

let me start with this-i do not expect you to rp all of your characters at once-especially if you have a crazy amount!! you can choose which of your characters you want to play as or you can do all of them if you’re crazy. just because you don’t RP a character going to classes doesn’t mean i’ll mark them as absent or give them a bad grade. i hope all of this makes sense!! for intro posts, they have to be at least 4-5 sentences. you can post them individually or all in one big post, i am fine with either.

note : @FTDFam please do not post any introduction posts until I give the ok. if you have any comments or questions, please quote and add on the chat thread! ^-^ I recommend clicking all the arrows. I hope this was helpful.

Sh-t. Lilliana sat up quickly, furiously rubbing her temples with her fingers. Her head hurt like h-ll and her eyes felt caked with tears and makeup. She could feel her phone vibrating in her pocket-signaling it was five-thirty in the morning. Blindly, she groped at the screen until the alarm turned off. Stumbling out of bed, she headed for the dorm bathroom. She still hadn’t met her roommate yet… Memories flashed through her mind as she walked quietly down the icy hallway. Why had she been out so late? Flicking on the bathroom light, she stared at herself in the mirror. Her cold charcoal eyes were surrounded by ruined eyeshadow and mascara. Her lips were blood-red and smudgy, and she looked pale. Sh-t. Lilliana knelt over the toilet bowl and began to vomit. After a few moments, she laid back against the wall, taking in deep breaths. Her stomach felt hollow and her palms sweaty.

Last night’s events were beginning to return to her in fragments-each one felt like a needle stuck through her skull. A tanned green-eyed girl…she couldn’t remember her name. Shot glass after shot glass…drinking… dancing with a guy… Lilliana’s eyes shot wide open. Holy sh-t. She could remember it all so clearly now-the shaggy-haired blonde boy from the bar. He’d bought her some drinks, they’d danced together…what else had they done? That was the only part she couldn’t quite recall. She fumbled in her pocket, hoping she at least had some stomach medicine or a few crackers… Her heart stopped as she found a note scribbled on the back of a flyer-one for a club.

Congratsssssssss! You’re officially someone’s new side chick! Also, if there’s a bill in your mailbox in a few days, it’s totally not from anything I did.

Lilliana felt her entire face turn hot as a wave of emotions crashed over. The note was obviously from the girl she had gone with. She limply rested her head against the wall and let out a shaky breath she had been holding in. So they did sleep together…that made sense. Now that she had read the note, she could remember them leaving the club. His breathing on her neck… Shakily getting to her feet, she stumbled back into the dorm room, collapsing on the unmade bed. How the h-ll am I going to get through school today?

Her school uniform reeked of last night’s drinks, so Lilliana gave up, dressing in ripped black jeans and a red hoodie. The color of the hoodie was similar to the color of her uniform cloak and dress-maybe the teachers wouldn’t notice she was breaking dress code. Lilliana rolled her eyes as she combed out her tangled black hair. Who am I kidding… Sorry Mom and Dad. Her parents wouldn’t be pleased if they found out she had broken such an easy rule to follow on the first day of school. But she’d rather that then have them find out about her whereabouts the night before. Tying her hair in a high ponytail, Lilliana left her dorm. She stashed her books in her locker-same one as last year. Heading downstairs, she figured she still had time for a quick run around the school before her first class, which would hopefully clear her head.

Ace woke up alone, which was surprising to him. He had been confident that when he arrived back at Once Upon a High, girls would be fighting in order to even catch a glimpse of him. He had only spoken to two girls yesterday, and both of them were pretty b-tchy. What happened to all the sweet girls from last year? But, it had only been one day. There was still hope. Besides, he had secured a date with a cute girl so there was that.

Ace showered and changed into his uniform. Instead of the mandatory white suit jacket, he wore his classic red letterman’s jacket. He had a large breakfast at the Castleteria by himself, scrolling on his phone the entire time. He posted a picture of his food on social media, sure his fans would go crazy over it. Then, finally, he made his way to Mathematics and took a seat in the back row.

Life at Once Upon a High was proving rather easy to adjust to. Lorelai woke up, removing the sleeping mask from her eyes. She wore silk pajamas and slept underneath red silk sheets as well. While going to school on Mount Olympus, she often had the privilege of sleeping in later, but she didn’t mind. After taking a warm bubble bath and dressing an outfit that wasn’t her uniform, Lorelai prepared herself a pomegranate and lemon tea. She hadn’t yet met her roommate-with-benefits to-be, but she hoped she was good looking. After finishing her tea, Lorelai headed downstairs.

Her first class was Literature, although she contemplated not even showing up. Still, she had nothing else to do, she could always ditch when it got boring. Lorelai kept a dazzling smile as she walked through the halls, keeping her head high as if she were above them all. Which she was-she was a full fledged goddess! Thinking about this only made her smile wider. She slid into a seat at the very back of the classroom. A lot of students were already there, but she didn’t approach anyone. She, instead, waited for someone to begin speaking to her.

Knowing Alya was by her side, Eudora slept like a baby. Her dreams felt soft and hazy…she was at peace. When she awoke, she felt fresh and excited to start the day, almost as if all the worry had faded away. She took a warm shower and dressed in the school uniform, pairing it with black flats and hoop earrings. She tied half of her hair up, securing it with an ruby-encrusted pin given to her by her grandparents. She dusted glitter onto her eyelids and added a layer of lipstick before heading to the kitchen. After cooking warm bacon and eggs for both Alya and herself, she packed up her schoolbag and headed downstairs for her first class-Literature.

She was early, so she took a seat in the middle of the second row, with space on either side. She wondered if anyone would sit next to her. If so, she made a promise to talk to them, no matter if they were a boy or girl. She needed more friends, especially friends in the same class as her.

Theo took a seat in the back of the Mathematics Classroom. She spilled the contents of her mustard-yellow corduroy backpack in front of her : a notebook she had used for last year’s mathematics, some pencil-crayons, and a sketchbook for secret doodles. Looking around the classroom, she didn’t see Matt’s shaggy blonde head anywhere. Or was that him? She squinted at the back of a blonde-haired guy’s head. He didn’t really look like Matt. And wouldn’t Matt sit next to her? She slouched even further into her seat. Probably not.

Matt was the friend she had made yesterday and the first deaf person she had ever met. They had really clicked and had a nice conversation…until she randomly kissed him on the cheek and then ran off, leaving him confused and with her notebook full of conversations she had shared with hearing people. None of them were deep or anything, mostly orders from the Castleteria or explanations to things she couldn’t hear. Still, the idea of Matt reading through her scribbled messy notes that revealed everywhere she went and bought from felt humiliating. Great, Theo, you finally click with someone and then you do this… Giving up on the idea Matt would ever communicate with her again, she huffed sadly, blowing a stray blonde lock out of her face.

Dae woke up a bit later than he should’ve, but it didn’t take him long to get ready anyways. Being a demigod, he was blessed with perfect looks-naturally shiny tangerine hair, flawless skin, and plump pink lips. Still, he took a shower before choosing an outfit. He wanted to stand out-which would be easy when most other people would be wearing a uniform. Sitting in a chair in the living room, Dae opened his journal-a copper book that typically stayed hidden under his mattress. He had never told anyone he journaled, not even his sister Eun knew. It was embarrassing that he even wrote in one, but he couldn’t help it. He wrote about the last few days-getting the invitation to Once Upon a High, his conversation with Eun, having to take Macy along with them. Before he knew it, he had used up several pages and it was almost time to get to class.

He kept his head high as he walked through the halls, keeping a still expression on his face. As he entered the classroom, he didn’t recognize anyone yet. He took a seat nearer to the back than the front. His posture was perfect, but you could tell by his expression he was already bored and didn’t want to be there. He knew Eun was in his class, but he didn’t know about Macy-not that he really cared if either of them were. He barely had a relationship with Eun anymore and he was frustrated with Macy. Thinking about them made his eyebrows knit together, although he didn’t really appear mean because of his baby face and innocent features.

Kaden woke up right on time. He hadn’t set an alarm-he always woke up at just the right time-not too early, not too late. He took a shower, then added some product to his hair. This step wasn’t necessary-being the son of Goldilocks, his curls were naturally bright gold and hung in tight, perfect spirals. But it helped him shape his hair a bit, making him look more cleaned-up. If that wasn’t enough, his uniform was perfectly white despite his adventures the day before. Not a wrinkle or stain in sight. Kaden smiled at himself in the mirror at the thought of Maximilian. He had never felt so…strange about a friend before. Maybe because Maximilian was so different from his other friends…and anyone he’d ever met. He slipped into his shiny black shoes before heading to the Castleteria for breakfast.

Breakfast was amazing, especially because it wasn’t porridge. His mother only served porridge-for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, so Kaden was a bit tired of it. Slinging his brown leather book bag over his shoulder, he headed for his first class- Advanced Literature. He was excited to find out what his teacher would be like and what they would be reading during the year. He chose a seat not too close to the front, but not too close to the back, either. Just right - as Goldilocks would call it. He wiggled in the seat before taking out his supplies- his textbook, notebook, agenda, and pens.

hare wheelchair feather :rabbit: RYlan :rabbit: handsun desert beskicks

Rylan awoke to his younger brother Shelldon gently shaking him awake. Shelldon was already dressed in his uniform and his dark mop of curls sat neatly atop his head. Rylan groaned as he shakily propped himself up in bed. By the time he had sat up, Shelldon had sat on the floor, tossing his belongings out of his suitcase. “Where’s your uniform?” “Don’t bother. I’m not wearing that…” He eyed Shelldon, who was wearing the white mess of frills-suit jacket and all. “…thing.” He already looked stupid enough needing to be pushed around most of the time. “Nuh-uh. We aren’t leaving until you put it on.” Shelldon unearthed Rylan’s uniform from the very bottom of the suitcase, tossing it on his bed. Rylan huffed. If he could have a normal roommate-normal meaning anyone who wasn’t his brother, he wouldn’t have to deal with this. But since he relied on Sheldon for almost everything, he had no choice but to let Sheldon help him into the embarrassing white suit and then into his wheelchair.

They stopped at the Castleteria for breakfast. Rylan had to admit, even the food was amazing. Much more amazing than what he had to eat on the road anyways. Some people were glancing at him. He thought he heard laughter and looked down to his hands, face red and expression dark. Are they laughing at me? Sending the table a glare, Sheldon wheeled Rylan to his first class, Mathematics. Another thing Rylan was upset about. Sheldon was so intelligent-even with only two animals as teachers, he was much smarter, and was in all advanced classes. Meanwhile, Rylan was horrible in school and had no advanced classes whatsoever. Sheldon pushed his brother to a seat in the second row, right in the middle. Rylan glowered, he would’ve preferred a seat in the back, where he could do whatever he wanted without getting caught. After Sheldon left, he awkwardly stared at the ground, not knowing what to do.

Camilla woke up when her alarm clock rang. It was a bright pop song, but she didn’t feel bright and poppy. Usually, she slept in a lot longer, not taking much time to get ready. But, this year, she was trying to be better than that. And that meant leaving her warm, cozy bed, slipping her feet into bunny slippers, and heading to the bathroom to take a much-needed shower. After her shower, Camilla smelled like vanilla cookies. She slipped a burgundy headband into her dark locks and applied makeup-scented lip gloss and mascara-two things Jason had told her never to wear. She dressed in the uniform dress-which was itchy, black sneakers, and white socks. The sneakers added a bit to her height, which she liked. She then slung her yellow chicken-shaped purse over one arm. The purse was called Betty, and last year when she was younger, she often spoke to it or treated it like a friend. Inside the purse contained a few small notebooks, pencils, and hair elastics. She didn’t feel like using a backpack, they got so heavy with all the books. Speaking of books, she carried her literature textbook under one arm-her purse didn’t have enough room.

She ate some cereal for breakfast, leaving the bowl in the sink to clean later. She packed lunch-a sandwich and packet of chips-neither her nor her brother had enough money to buy school lunches every day. She’d probably have to get her first job this year. Speaking of her brother, there was his knock at her door. He looked surprised to see her-he was probably surprised she was even up. She let him gape for a moment before stepping into the hallway, shutting the door behind her. She heard the lock click into place. “C’mon, Jason, we don’t want to be late for class.” It took all of her not to start laughing or to mention how proud of herself she was.

Jason walked her to the literature classroom. Camilla didn’t hate literature, but she was sure the class would be boring-that’s how school was. “I’ll meet you here after class.” Jason told her, but it sounded more like an order. She waved at him as he walked off towards his own class, advanced literature. A bit of Camilla felt sad thinking about this-that her brother was a lot smarter than her in almost every subject. Gosh, I really need to step it up. Putting a bright smile back on her face, she entered the classroom and chose a seat in one of the middle rows-she didn’t want to be watched like a hawk by her teachers, but she was pretty short…she wanted to be able to see.

Petra woke up early. She took some time to unpack, as she hadn’t finished the night before. Her dorm was simple and homey, although she hadn’t had time to paint the walls or purchase any decorations that fit the theme she wanted to go for. She hung her clothes in the wardrobe provided and shoved her school supplies into her worn out backpack before taking a shower. After she finished, she put her strawberry-blonde hair into one long braid and applied some chapstick. She was too nervous to eat anything, but she did have a cup of earl-gray tea, at the same time, working on a small watercolor paint by number she’d purchased while in town.

After her cup was empty, she washed it and put it back in the right cupboard. She grabbed her backpack and headed for the mathematics classroom, trying not to make eye contact with anyone. She didn’t like mathematics, she wasn’t very good at math, and the teachers tended to ask a lot of questions and have high expectations. Petra took a random middle seat, making sure she didn’t sit next to anyone else. She didn’t want to break up friend groups or make anyone uncomfortable. She took out her books and pencil, and began to doodle a jackalope inside her notebook. She didn’t like drawing in front of other people, but no one was very close to her, and she didn’t want to look awkward sitting there and doing nothing.

Jackie woke up early enough to watch the sun rise from their dorm window. They loved the sunrise because of the beautiful colors-giving them enough motivation and creativity to start the day. After a short shower, Jackie dressed in the uniform provided for the female students-mostly because the male uniform lacked any color, while the female one was a dull burgundy. Still not Jackie’s style, but they didn’t want to break the rules. Looking in the mirror, they began slowly raking their fingers through their hair, in deep concentration. Their brown curls slowly began to darken until they became black, and her eyes began to shift to a deep brown as well. Jackie smiled at the finished look-they often changed their hair and eye color to match their “vibe” and had learned to do so when they were quite young.

After a cup of coffee and a bowl of cereal, Jackie packed their backpack-a burgundy one to match their uniform before getting to class. Jackie liked literature, and was looking forwards to it. Yesterday’s attempt to make friends wasn’t necessarily a success, and they were hoping today would be better. Taking a seat near the front, Jackie tapped their foot excitedly, wondering what would happen next.

Jakob thought about ditching, but he didn’t really have anything else to do besides go to school. With no one to tie him down and all of his friends from last year busy, he’d look like a total loner if he hung out by himself. So, he dressed in an olive colored jacket and torn-up jeans, then headed to downstairs. He stopped by the Castleteria to grab a protein bar-he didn’t really care if he was late. In between bites, he watched everyone around him, not seeing anyone he remembered meeting before.

Leaving the wrapper and tray on the table for staff to clean up, he went to the Mathematics classroom and grabbed a seat in the very back. He leaned far back in his chair, and then forwards, letting the legs hit the ground. No one was sitting in his row yet… Smirking to himself, he took his sack of pixie dust out of his pocket, and secretly sprinkled some on the chair next to him. Stowing it away in his jean pocket, he took out his pocket knife and began to carve on the table, waiting for someone to fall into his trap.

Shelldon woke up early to get ready. He had dreamed of his parents, but when he woke up, they weren’t sleeping on the floor next to him. Instead, he was bundled up in a queen-sized bed alone. He took a shower-the showers in the dorms were amazing! The shampoos and soaps were also of fine quality-his smelled like tea tree and hemp. He showered for a lot longer then he actually needed, ever since he was a child, he would use a cramped hotel shower or even bathe in the lake. He could get used to this. He dressed in the uniform- he wasn’t a fan of the color, but he liked the old-timey look it gave him. He even wore the suit jacket, he got cold pretty easily. After styling his hair, he woke up his brother Rylan and helped him get ready.

His first class was advanced mathematics. He had never been to a real school before. His parents taught him everything he “needed” to know, but he’d always wondered if he could be even more intelligent with the help of teachers and actual materials. He took a seat near the middle-it seemed like the wise thing to do. He couldn’t wait to begin learning, he hoped the teacher would be challenging and exciting.

Felix smiled softly as the sun brushed his face in attempts to wake him up. He wasn’t really a morning person, but he did love to watch the sunrise, full of soft, beautiful colors. The entire room lit up with gentle light-almost magical. He got out of bed to brush his teeth, it was a school day and he only had so much time to get ready. He ran his fingers through his dark brown curls but decided to keep them that color today. He dressed in his uniform- a plain white suit. He disliked the uniform-it had almost no color besides the gold accents and buttons. However, he wasn’t about to break the rules on the first day of school. He didn’t change his hair or eye color-he wanted to keep yesterday’s look.

For breakfast he made scrambled eggs-bright yellow. He was an alright cook, the eggs tasted fine. He cleaned the plate and fork when he was done, making sure they went back in the exact spot they were supposed to. So far, the dorm still looked very clean, much to his liking. He packed his backpack before heading downstairs. He had already looked at the school map-he knew where his classroom was. When he arrived, he took an available seat and took out his agenda, textbook, and notebook. He began to write in his agenda, using a ruler to make sure everything looked neat.

Bay woke up on the sandy floor of the secret cove she shared with her boyfriend Cameron. Yesterday had been so busy, they’d barely had time to talk. Hopefully today would be different. Seeing that he was still asleep, Bay undressed and slipped into her school uniform, which she had cleaned with a few spells the night before. She had decorated it with embroidery and tiny shells and bits from the ocean, and was proud to wear it. She secured her orange hair in two tiny braids before running back to Cameron and shaking his arm. “Cam! Time to wake up, sleepyhead!” She yelled excitedly. Caspian jolted awake, her big blue eyes full of fear. She looked around-her settings were unfamiliar. She wasn’t at Rani’s house in her small, neat bedroom. Instead, she was in a a large, plain room, inside a bed much bigger than her own. She dressed in her uniform, following every rule-she’d read the rule book several times. She hated getting in trouble and was already quivering at the idea of breaking a rule and getting yelled at. She kept her hair in loose blonde curls, securing it from her face with two black bobby pins. That would be good enough-she didn’t want to stand out much anyways. She ate a piece of toast spread with butter for her breakfast-she didn’t want to bother with the stove and start a fire.

She locked the door behind her and headed for the Mathematics classroom-it wasn’t even close to the starting time, better too early than potentially late, right? She was able to find it quickly-she had studied the map to make sure she didn’t get lost. Lots of seats were open-in the front, middle, and back. She stood there awkwardly, biting her bottom lip. The teacher would pick on her more often if she sat in the front, but all of the bad kids sat in the back… and would she be able to see and hear if she sat in the middle?

Remembering yesterday’s mistake, Callie was sure to set multiple alarms to make sure she work up at exactly six-thirty. She needed at least an hour and a half to “beautify” herself for the first day of classes. Ironically, she had awoken a few minutes before her alarm was about to go off-too anxious to stay asleep. Speaking of classes… What did I have first again? She had checked her schedule last night, but had already forgotten it. Then again, it was easy to forget things you didn’t care about. Callie rolled her icy blue eyes as she remembered-Literature class. She couldn’t stand Literature, it seemed so pointless. She was a Charming Princess. One day, she would rule at the side of a handsome king, not become an old librarian. Her alarm chimed and she tapped it back to sleep before slipping out of bed and heading towards the bathroom.

After taking a shower and drying her hair, Callie changed into her uniform. To most, it was the removal of self expression, a simple, stiff, and ugly cloak and dress. But to her, it was a sign of pride for her school, and actually kinda cute. Still, the fact she found it cute didn’t stop her from making sure the skirt was a few inches too short and the heels a few inches too high. She also stuffed her bra as much as she could, as per usual. She pulled her curled blonde hair into a high ponytail, tying it with a black ribbon. Then, she headed downstairs to her locker, where Duchess had already organized her books and supplies. She grabbed her Literature book as well as an empty notebook and pen. She felt a few guy’s eyes on her, so she gave them a bright smile before turning on her heel and heading for the Literature classroom.

Porcelain groaned and rubbed her turquoise eyes, leaving her hands smudged black with makeup. After arriving at school, she had locked herself in her bedroom and fell right asleep until the next day. She had tried talking to a boy, but it hadn’t gone well due to their history from the year before. Whatever. It was over and she didn’t want to think about it anymore. She slipped into her outfit for the day-a tattered black dress- and ran a brush through her bird’s nest of silver hair. She hadn’t bothered to remove yesterday’s makeup, which had now sunken below her eyes, making her look like a very pale raccoon.

Porcelain did her best to gather her things in her arms before going downstairs. She didn’t have a book bag of any kind, and nearly dropped her things several times. She had planned on ditching, but she hoped to catch even just a glimpse of her ex-girlfriend. Of course, she would never talk with her. There was a bit of guilt about what had happened, but she would rather go back to living with her mother than own up to her mistakes. She took a seat at the very back of the classroom and glared at nothing in particular.

Li Jun woke up to the beeping of his alarm clock. Yesterday hadn’t been too eventful for him, he had met a few other students, but he hadn’t made any definite friends. He smiled fondly as he remembered the dark fairy girl who had helped him with his glasses. Although she was intimidating, he wondered if they might be friends. He hoped he’d see her again. Li Jun dressed in his uniform, leaving the jacket behind. He could tell it was going to be a hot day, and the jacket wasn’t mandatory.

After a small sesame seed bagel, he slung his book bag over his shoulder and headed for his first class-Advanced Mathematics. He kept his eyes on his shoes, hoping he wouldn’t trip and embarrass himself again. Still, he couldn’t help but notice how beautiful everyone was. He even found some of the guys attractive-what was he saying? He found and entered the classroom, taking a seat near the front. He took out his supplies, organizing them neatly on the desk : a navy-colored notebook, calculator, and three sharpened pencils.

Valentina slept in a little bit longer than she had intended to-she had worked late into the night planning school events and writing about cute couples she had noticed. She got up, took a shower, then changed into the uniform. She styled her hair into two space buns and applied her makeup. Then she crunched on a bowl of cereal before grabbing her leather bookbag and flying out the window so she wouldn’t have to walk through the cramped dorm halls.

Her first class was mathematics-a bit boring but she wasn’t bad at math or anything. She drifted to the ground, remembering the numerous times she had been scolded for flying in the halls. She took a seat in the very back-that way she would be able to see everyone. It would be easier to tell who were together, who liked who, and such. She took out two notebooks-one for class notes, the other for matchmaking notes.

Eun hadn’t slept well, knowing she now shared a dorm with her half-sister Macy. But why ? Her eyes narrowed and she shook her head as she slid out of bed. She doesn’t control me anymore. She has no place in my head. Slipping out of her room, she locked herself in the shared bathroom. She shrugged off her silken pajamas in the secrecy of the bathroom and changed into her uniform-or rather, the boy’s uniform. It fit her very loosely, hiding any curve in her figure, the legs of the pants traveling past her feet and to the floor. She looked like a child wearing their parent’s clothing. Even though she usually tried to stick to the rules, she hated dress codes with a burning passion. Not only were they sexist, they also prevented individuality. She scowled, glancing at herself in the mirror. This was her own little statement. And some might think she looked silly, but she felt powerful wearing the overly frilly white suit. At least students got one day to dress how they liked. She left her hair down, combing through it a few times to make it look extra shiny. Being a demigoddess, she was blessed with her mother’s beauty. She almost never woke up with tatted hair or a pimple on her face.

She had been so excited about going to Once Upon a High. A place where she could finally belong, and no one would know her history…the old her. A place away from her home-if you could even call it that. But having Macy tag along was a stab in the back. A permanent reminder of how much she had suffered. Eun scolded herself for thinking so negatively. Making sure the coast was clear, she left the dorm room to grab some breakfast in the Castleteria, as well as get her supplies from her locker. When she arrived, she noticed Dae was already sitting near the back of the classroom. She didn’t want to sit too close to him, so she sat nearer to the front.

Ivan stripped off his uniform, which was covered in sweat and grass stains. Leaving it in a heap on the floor, he collapsed onto his bed. He couldn’t believe his clothing had looked so terrible all day. He wasn’t used to dressing in all-white, at the agency, he usually wore only black. His room was large-much larger than his room at the agency and he had it all to himself. He hadn’t yet had time to decorate his room and he wasn’t sure if he would decorate it at all. Why decorate if he was going to be leaving soon? He adjusted himself, the soft white cotton brushing against his bare skin. This was one of the most comfortable beds he had ever been in-but for some reason he didn’t feel sleepy. Though his body was exhausted, his mind was full of thoughts-he couldn’t stop replaying the moments he had shared with Aidene. He rolled over and picked up his phone-which was given to him by the agency. It worked like a regular phone, but he had to be careful, his activity was tracked. Let’s see if I actually learned something at that sh-thole…

Sure enough, he was able to find one account-although he wasn’t completely sure it was Aidene’s. The username was @mynameisnotf-ckingaiden, and while the profile photo was Aidene, the account was private and only had twenty followers. Still… the description…well to describe it in one sentence, was very Aidene. Twenty-one followers now… Ivan clicked the follow button, he had already followed a few other people with OUAH in their bios so it wouldn’t look too suspicious that he was following another. After a few minutes of reloading, he still couldn’t see the private posts. Screw it… Ivan typed out a message to the account and sent it. So… I guess you have mononucleosis now, huh? After a long moment, the word seen popped up, and then he saw the account was typing. He propped himself up in bed, his eyes glued to the screen. Shut up. He chuckled, it was definitely Aidene.

you seem oddly excited by that prospect His reply was quick- Well… I didn’t really picture our first date at the doctor’s office. He pressed send and then sent another. But it is what it is. He doubted he really had mononucleosis, though, after all the people he’d kissed, he wouldn’t entirely knock it off the list. yeah, that’s not happening. Ivan sent her a ‘:sob:’ emoji before replying, Guess we’ll just have to wait it out together, then . that is the most terrifying idea i’ve heard in a long time. Aidene messaged back. But exciting all the same? When she didn’t reply, he sent one more. You kiss like an angel btw. This time she replied with, Huh, you kiss a lot of angels then? He shook his head, even though she couldn’t see. Hadn’t met one until today.

I may be good darling, but I’m no angel. Ivan chuckled to himself. Hmm… we’ll see about that. He typed out another message after that, with simply calling her angel again. angel. He could almost feel Aidene punching him in the shoulder as he read her reply- u are literally so annoying. Ivan smirked. But you love me anyways. Still doesn’t change the fact that you’re annoying. His heart skipped a beat at this, even though he knew it wasn’t what she meant. Still, he couldn’t help teasing so you love me. good to know.

you assume the wildest things, Aidene replied. You know me, Ivan typed. Tall, dark, and wild :smirk: Aidene replied to this with a photo-one of a small black bunny sitting in a field. Ivan smiled at this-he found it almost as adorable as him. Actually… it kind of resembled him, except it was black, not white. Aww, he sent. I’m cuter though, right? Her reply was surprisingly-possibly. He’d expected a “no”, but… definitely. He corrected her. possibly He raised an eyebrow-he wouldn’t let her beat him. definitely. He shot back. I could do this all night :upside_down_face: Aidene said. Ivan raised his eyebrows. I could do you all night  He teased her. time for you to sleep. Aidene said, obviously not knowing what to say. So, I take it that’s a no… Ivan mused to himself as he typed With you? A little soon but alright.

keep dreaming. Aidene said. I will. Ivan replied to her. Of you. He slouched a bit-he was getting tired. will you be less annoying in the morning? Aidene asked him. yes, he replied. because I’ll get to see you again. Uhuh…what’s your first class? Ivan strained to remember…what was it? He hadn’t been too concerned with the whole ‘school’ aspect. sh-t, we’d better have the same ones. Surprised you’re not ditching to be honest. He raised his eyebrows at her reply- my dad would not be happy about that. I try to keep my Dad happy. Ivan tilted his head. He knew his dad would probably want him in class as well. He began to type You keep me happy- but deleted it. What am I saying? Instead, he replied with a simple Mine wouldn’t be either. also it’s math. He smiled at her reply-which confirmed they had at least the same first class. I’ll see you in math, then. Unless you happen to ditch? Ivan laughed-he wouldn’t ditch even if she was, he wasn’t supposed to get expelled on this mission. Not if you’re going to be there. See you then, princess :kissing_heart: She read the message right as he sent it, but after a few minutes, there was no reply. Giving up, he set his phone back on the nightstand, rolling over. Maybe now he could finally get to sleep.

The next morning, Ivan woke up, still tired. But he had to get ready, he didn’t want to be late for class. His uniform was still dirty, but even if it wasn’t, he still wasn’t in the mood to wear it. He dressed in an outfit that fit his style perfectly-a white t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and a denim jacket with a hood. He didn’t bother gelling and styling his hair, instead hiding it with a black baseball cap that read “f-ck it all”. He paired the outfit with black sneakers and a silver watch. He also put a silver stud in each ear-he had them pierced, but he normally didn’t wear earrings. He checked himself out in the mirror and smirked before tossing his stuff in his bag and heading out the door. He had spent almost half of his money from the agency in one day, so he decided to skip breakfast, no matter how much his stomach begged. He slid into an aisle seat in the very back bleacher of the mathematics classroom, tossing his bag on the seat next to him for Aidene for no reason. Then, he casually leaned back, wondering if anyone familiar would enter the classroom.

Cara yawned. She’d much rather stay in bed and sleep, but good grades were a priority for her. Besides, there was a chance she’d see Kai-the guy she’d been crushing on for a year straight despite knowing he didn’t feel the same way. Unfortunately, she hadn’t seen him yesterday, but maybe today… Cara dressed in the school uniform. She loved fashion and would’ve rather worn one of her own outfits, however, she had helped design the school uniforms, and would feel like a hypocrite for not wearing something she was so proud of making. She accessorized with chain jewelry and black platform boots, and tied her two-toned hair in a high ponytail. For makeup, she drew gothic, bold eyeliner and powdered her cheeks with lots of blush. She took a photo for her social media before slinging her black-and-white checkered backpack over one shoulder.

She had a cup of coffee for breakfast as well as a slice of toast. As she ate, her mind drifted back to Kai, and couldn’t help but smile. She really, really wanted to see him again. She waved to the girls she knew as she left the girl’s dorm hall and began making her way to the literature classroom. Cara didn’t mind literature, but she did find it a bit boring. A few doors down, she noticed a girl she had never seen before. She was probably a new student, a lot of the girls in the hallway were. Still, this girl stood out and Cara didn’t know why. Her fashion was not remarkable in the least. Perhaps it was her shocking green eyes-no it was the fact the girl had black-and-white hair, similar to hers. Should I say something? Cara slowed her steps, trying to decide whether to speak to her. Finally, she gave in-and approached her, mustering her most friendly smile. “Hi! I really like your hair!”

Kellan woke up to his phone alarm-a Beyonce song. He yawned dramatically, stretching his arms above his head before hopping out of bed to get ready. He dressed in the white school uniform, accessorizing with gold dangling earrings and a pair of white heels. He added blush to his cheeks and glitter to his eyes-he’d been experimenting with makeup lately. He used some gel to tidy up his shocking blue hair, then headed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. He poured Lucky Charms into two crystal bowls-one for himself, and the other for his pet pig, Hammy. As he ate, he scrolled on his social media, admiring outfits that were much cuter than his uniform and scanning for upcoming trends.

After finishing his cereal, he slipped into his backpack-it was a faded rainbow one he’d used a couple years ago-and headed for his first class, Literature. Kellan didn’t dislike literature, but he was glad he had that first instead of Mathematics like last year. He was mostly looking forwards to Fashion Design class at the end of the day, and maybe Light Magic as well. But, all of the big fashion trade schools wanted well-rounded students, not students who only excelled in one class.

room 214 → Advanced Literature classroom

Abdiel De Lacey was not yet used to their new life at Once Upon a High. It was still strange to them to wake up in their new room -or in a proper room, for that matter-, in a soft and warm bed that -despite its lack of blankets (aside from the quilt the school had given them) or any personal belongings- made them want to stay cuddled up there forever. Or at least until their stomach grumbled with hunger.

It took them a couple of minutes to get out of the warm bed. Their hunger and instinct to remain where they felt safe clashing until the former overpowered the latter. Still, the sensation of safety lingered, making their skin tingle with warmth as they made their way to the kitchen of their shared room. It was strange to live like this. So carefree. Of course, The Creature always made sure Abdiel would have something to eat every morning, but now the fear of someone being after them was slowly disappearing, something they never imagined happening when they lived with their father.

Abdiel let out a sigh when they thought of him. Was he safe? Was he taking good care of himself? He had spent so many years looking after them, Abdiel wanted him to treat himself that way, too. Not that they’d ever know how he treated himself when they weren’t around, nothing past what they knew about their story with that doctor who abandoned him. It was only when a chill ran down their arms that Abdiel realised they had frozen in front of the open fridge.

Right, they were meant to be getting food.

They grabbed a small portion of fruit and closed the fridge, maybe a bit too hard. Hopefully their roommate hadn’t heard that noise. Still, the cold lingered in Abdiel’s skin, a cold that did not go away by rubbing their arms. Maybe it was the cold from being away from their family, instead of just the fridge.

No. They couldn’t think about that now, there was no way for them to go back to their father now, they had to focus on their first day of classes. Finishing their breakfast, they tried to distract themself by getting ready for the day, going through the motions of their recently acquired routine, they had to get to class. No attempts to distract themself stopped them from carefully caressing the worn out cover of their father’s copy of Paradise Lost before packing it along with their materials for class, though; or from placing the pocket watch their father had given them in their school uniform.

Okay, maybe they got to the classroom a little too early. Abdiel looked around the empty classroom before a coffee pitcher caught their eye. Looking around, as if not to be caught by anyone, Abdiel made their way to the table it was on and poured themself a cup, enjoying how warm it felt in their hands.

Could they stay around the classroom until class started? Abdiel liked how it felt there.

Taking a seat on the second row, Abdiel decided they could probably stay there for a while. Either until class began or someone chased them out.

There wasn’t anything that annoyed Temni Bogynia than the way light filtered through her closed windows.

Okay, that was probably a lie.

Many things could annoy Temni. But a lot of them were somewhat related to the sunlight, so that was still somewhat true. As soon as they deemed themself awake enough to use magic, she made sure the room was nice and shadowy again. She had to find a way to make it so no sunlight would come through their windows before they could put on their sunscreen- or any other protection they could find. Their father’s voice whispered in her head again. Reminded them that light was a threat to her life.

“Shut up.” No one was there for her to groan at. If everything had gone according to plan, their father wouldn’t even know where Temni was.

Slowly, she took the pillow away from her face. She couldn’t let anyone see them like this. She rushed to the bathroom, hoping she could get a shower and get ready before their roommate could see them. It would take her a while to shower, prepare an outfit, put on their make-up and make sure she looked the same as usual. Attitude included.

That was going to be the hardest part.

They let out a content sigh as they looked at their reflection in the mirror, at least that was under her control. Temni chuckled to herself thinking about how dumb it was that the child of Chernabog, out of all beings, was worried about their makeup for the first day of school. It wasn’t that bad, though. It made them feel… normal.

Once that was done, Temni looked down at the small compass they always carried around and smiled to themself. “It’s going to be a good day,” they whispered as she tucked the compass away in her pocket. They were in control of themselves now, they were doing what they wanted -even if it included some classes that weren’t all that interesting to her-, they had the chance to meet humans now, actual, living breathing humans. And they had their lucky charm with them in case things ever got too confusing. With that in mind, she made her way towards the castleteria.

Temni smiled to themself when they stepped into the Castleteria, noticing it wasn’t as crowded yet. Being among the first people to get their food that day felt somewhat like a win.

She chose an empty table to sit at after she had gotten her food and paid for it, enjoying both her pancakes and the chance she had to observe how others acted when it came to getting food. So far they had grasped the concept that eating seemed to be a social ritual, with everyone getting together to chat about… things she didn’t quite understand yet. Was it too bad to eat on their own? Between her food and everything going on around them, Temni didn’t see how they could have paid the correct amount of attention to a conversational partner. That was something they had to figure out.

That would be after they finished their breakfast, though. The bacon was too good to ignore with thoughts about these things.

As I wake in the morning I realise how early it is. The sun has not yet come out and my roomate is nowhere to be seen, yet I cannot close my eyes and drift off to sleep again. Going to sleep early becuase of jet leg caused me to wake up sooner and will probably make me sleepy earlier in the day. That’s why I decide to make myself a cup of human’s drink called coffee that’s apparently supposed to keep me awake until it’s the propper time to sleep. Deciding not to eat anything that early in the morning I put on my uniform, take my school bags and go to stright to the classroom. In all honesty I was excited for this class and wanted to be here earlier than I would if it were any other class.
The room was a bit empty because there was plenty of time before the bell would ring. After sitting on the chair for a minute I decide to entertain ymself by picking up a book off the shelf and hoping to find something light as it was morning and I’d just woke up. And there I was, in the classrom with a scarce amount of people, reading away. I’m not even sure if I was allowed to touch those books, but who can refuse John Steinbeck?

It was raining last night. I could tell because the way from my stables to the school were all muddy and I was worried people would hate to see muddied hoovemarks on the floors, but it’s not like I could clean them off of change shoes like them. So I decided not to think anything of it and join my class. Knowing I cannot write I mentally prepared myself to remeber everything I’m about to be told. The truth is I’m scared. I have the capacity to think and talk like them, but I don’t have the capacity to memorize better than them and I’m affraid most of the information will be lost on me if I don’t find a way to jot it down. Silently I trotted over to the assigned classroom and the moment I saw the chairs meant for humans I felt so out of place I wanted to leave. I do want to learn, but do I want to learn so bad I would feel this different and like such a freak? I decided to keep at the back of the room where there were no chairs so I can comfortably stand withouth getting in anybody’s way.

Alicia Liddel
Alicia woke up after having a nightmare. In this horrible dream everyone was laughing at her, pointing, teasing. It was not a fun experience. Which made her extremely nervous for her first day of school. She put on the white dress and grabbed her leather-back satchel with a few personal books, along with her school books. She went to the cafeteria and paid with the weekly allowance her mother gave her.

She immediately went to her advanced Literature class - she was not in the mood to loiter - and took a seat next to someone reading a book. Seemed like an appropriate person to sit next to. She was planning on reading her own book when she noticed the book they were reading. “Is- Are- Are you reading John Steinback? He’s an amazing author. H- Are you familiar with his work?” She brushed a loose strand of her gold hair out of her face, after a pause she added, “My name’s Alicia.”

TristanWestergaard
It was official, Tristan hated this school. He hated his father. And above all else, he hated his brother. He even hated his roommate, even though they hadn’t talked yet. He did not have high hopes for his first class, which was literature for pete’s sake! The boy had barely opened a book and still hadn’t had a cup of coffee yet he was expected to attend a class about poetry and reading? That was not cool. Just goes to show how you never let your father pick out a schedule for you - well Tristan didn’t really have a choice but the point still stands.

He begrudgingly got up, even though he was planning on skipping he didn’t know where to go and he didn’t really want to go alone. He had to activate his plan somehow, and sitting around would not make that happen. He put on some jeans and the school blazer, he didn’t need to go full on preppy and didn’t want to get detention either. Hopefully this would stop any teachers from immediately noticing his outfit. He skipped on breakfast and went straight to class - what he thought was his class, at least - and decided that the girl in the very back would be the best person to talk to. “You know, I think there’s this thing called a dress code? And, I’m not saying it looks bad, but your hair could look better. Quick question, is this Literature? Not that I really want to be there anyways, it would be nice to know if I am in the right class.”

IsaiahWestergaard
Isaiah had been up since five, but hadn’t started making food until six. In his defense, he was supposed to be up and ready to go at seven every. Single. Morning. So it wasn’t really his fault. Nor had it been his fault that no one had ever taught him how to cook. Which was the exact reason as to why he was making so much noise, clanging pans together and plates slamming in with others was an absolutely dreadful noise. For the record, he was trying to make scrambled eggs. Something he had never attempted before, yet for some odd reason he thought he could do it. You just put the eggs in a pan with some water. Turns out that’s not how you cook eggs. Isaiah was diligently wearing his school uniform and attempting to clean up the mess he had spilled on the counter.

Advanced Literature | Approachable

If there was one thing Cepheus feared he would never grow accustomed to, it was the feeling of safety. There was the ever looming dread that nothing was secure and he’d have to face his past, but today was not that day. It had been easy to fall into a pattern of sneaking into the Castleteria for food and then retreat into the library, before heading back into his room. It was something structured and comforting for him, but he had classes to attend now.

Advanced Literature was in Room 214, a number he had practically ingrained into his memory by now. There was a pang of worry that stormed in his stomach, perhaps he had gotten the wrong number and was now on his way to the wrong class. The thought of not only attending the wrong class the first day, but also feeling the shame of having to excuse himself was daunting. With his worries and fears threatening to overtake him again, he gently ran his fingers down the spine of the soft book he held in his arms. Cepheus had few supplies for the class, but had brought his favorite book with him for comfort. The familiarity of the book’s glazed surface brought him further comfort, allowing him to finally walk into class.

It seemed there were few people here at the moment, possibly because he had insisted on getting up earlier than needed to make it to class. He was simply worried that not being punctual would not only leave a bad impression, but it would mean he’d be forced into a seat that placed him in the spotlight. Hastily, he claimed a seat on the side of the class and near the back. His fingers instantly snapped the book he held open, drawing him back into the climatic scene of the hero and villain dueling over the lost amulet.

-=[ Hadrian ]=-

Mathematics | Valentina

How mundane. School, that is. What a concept it truly was, for Hadrian to learn of. Children just spent over a decade of their life trapped in an institution to learn about the world? Perhaps they were bitter that they had to live through life, rather than learn about it from the safety of a classroom. Hadrian had taken measures to spend time outside of their dorm and in the woods, practicing magic away from everyone else. It had not gone so well, though they had repaired all the damages. Cursed blood, cursed lineage. What isn’t cursed about me?

A bitter thought, one that would not do so well. While they had seen school as a waste of time, they had little else to do than attend. They stopped by the Castleteria to get some fruit, before making their way to class. While they did enjoy holding superiority over mortals, Hadrian was quietly plagued with the notion that they knew little about math. In the herd, they had learned legends and magic, not… whatever multiplication was. Perhaps they had spent a bit of time in the library, learning about what “mathematics” was about and found it extremely irritating.

Upon entering the class, taking care to take as long as they wished to, they saw someone quite… how could they put it? Elegant and naive enough to be their first target. They noticed the girl had two notebooks laid out and was sitting all the way in the back, a curious notion that confused them. Why would one need two notebooks? Is mathematics that complicated? Regardless, they walked over, seemingly to sit down in the seat next to them, but ended up knocking one of the notebooks down. Without hesitation, they let out a small gasp and picked it up, holding it out for the girl. “My apologies, it’s been difficult adjusting to the school, I wasn’t paying much attention. Here is your notebook,” they said, flashing out a cunning smile.

Castleteria | Temni

Math. Why did it always have to be math? Clayton was… a bit perturbed to say the least about having math this early. He was mainly looking forwards to Band and Languages and Culture, classes he knew he could ace. Letters and notes made sense to him, they were easy to decipher and interpret and understand, but numbers? For Wonderland’s sake, there were imaginary numbers and the only thing he wanted to imagine was the Jabberwocky!

This wasn’t even noting the fact that he had woken up late because of his pocket watch! Tracking detailed weather conditions and constellations came easily to the watch, but apparently time itself was just too tedious, wasn’t it? He ended up a whole thirty minutes behind schedule, something that made him uneasy and restless. While Clayton was tempted to just go to class and get it over with, his father always had made a point on how breakfast was the third most important time of the day (the other two were something about sleep and midnight).

He made his way over in a pair of baggy pants and a loose, graphic shirt to the Castleteria, his ears disappearing as he walked out of the dorm. He chose something simple and cheap for breakfast, before making his way over to a table and sitting down. “Erm, hello, mind if I sit here? I’d rather avoid the more crowded tables for now, if that’s alright,” he said as he balanced his plate, hoping whoever this was didn’t try and bite his head off or snap at him.

Alaric Adonis Tremaine (the First) was not one for early mornings. Unfortunately, having classes in the morning was an efficient way to provide extra time in the evening for studies and socialization. Aric was awoken by his alarm, groaning as he shut it off and realized he was not on his bed. He had promptly fallen asleep on his desk, after perusing A Short History and Analysis of Arthurian Mythology which spanned nearly 25 chapters. He had only made it to the 14th chapter, regrettably, but he closed the book and wiped his glasses off. Aric snuck into the bathroom, putting his contacts into place before picking out a tailored uniform for class.

He provided himself an allotment of thirty minutes for breakfast, choosing the most nutritious option without worry of cost. Aric made sure to politely wave and move out of the way for students in the Castleteria, wondering if anyone would recognize him as the son of Prince Edward and Princess Nan- his thoughts abruptly cut off, as he realized his mother had essentially abdicated the title with the… He bit into some fruit and wiped his face with a gently folded napkin. What room was his class in again? How silly of him to forget, he’d just have to check it again.

Making his way over to his class after eating, he sat down in the front row, a bold move but a calculated one nonetheless. He was intent on becoming acquainted with the class structure, instructor, and the requirements he would need to meet. Aric was willing to work twice as hard as the other students in order to preserve the sanctity of his name and honor. With his ego distracted, he absentmindedly ended up scribbling on his desk, hurriedly wiping it off with his sleeve.

Rory had woken up early on his own he had always been an early riser. He got out of bed rubbing his eyes as he walked to the bathroom to clean up. He brushed his hair and looked at the uniform that he had hung on the hook in the bathroom the night before so he would remember to wear it despite it being far from the ease or comfort that he longed for. After fixing his hair he reluctantly dressed in the uniform putting on a rough pair of brown lace up boots. They were a little scratched up from their frequent uses in the forest and he hoped no one got mad about that. Rory chose a silver and put it in the piercing in his septum. That and his shoes were about the only parts of this new look he recognized when he looked in the mirror. He walked to the kitchen making a single scrambled egg and a piece of toast. He ate his breakfast as he took his phone out he had made an instagram account a few days ago because Lilliana had urged him too since he hadn’t come to school here with her last year.

Once he had finished his breakfast and done his dishes. I picked up his bag and threw it over his shoulder it was an army green and leather messenger bag that he often used to carry little treasures and maps around with him back home. He headed to his first class Literature. Rory was decent at Literature but didn’t know if he would stand out here in it at all. Rory much rather preferred math but he wasn’t sure that here he would make any impression in that either. He wasn’t sure he even really belonged her despite who his mother was. He hadn’t even met anyone and just simply by the way he had to dress he felt out of place. He took a deep breath as he left the room walking into the halls as he tried to keep himself from over analyzing his situation.

@ethereal (They meet in class or the hall on the way there its up to you)

As I was reading the book somebody asked me about the author. I would say it’s a stupid thing to ask a person “Are you reading John Steinbeck” when they can see the author name, so I figured this was the human way of jumping into conversation. Something that I never knew how to do. I closed the book knowing I won’t be reading it anytime soon and said “Yes, it is. I love these types of books. What about you?” I tried following her hoping the general question I learned to ask are not too boring for this conversation. I don’t know how to converse and I hope thsi doesn’t show so, to avoid seeming dull and very predictable, I said “You know, the kinds of books where the author describes a way of living. For instance the way John describes how the chores on western farms in America work. It’s fascinating.” I hoped that wasn’t too much information.

”Okay, that would be it for today,” Zuberi checked off the last pixie hollow inhabitant in aer list and slumped down against a wall. Delivering Pixie Dust was more tiring than what they remembered. Or more boring, maybe. Maybe it was so boring it drained aem.

At least back in Pixie Hollow they had been able to watch other fairies doing their tasks and training with their talents while on delivery duty. Now? Now everyone was just getting ready for their classes. And even if -for some strange reason- Zuberi decided they wanted to watch their fellow Pixie Hollow inhabitants, ae didn’t have time for that. No, ae had to rush from room to room, barely even being able to say hello. If ae wanted to have enough time to get ready for class. Not that mathematics were all that thrilling to them, but they couldn’t disappoint Queen Clarion, or worse, Zarina.

And yet, there they were, complaining about having to rush to make it on time to class and not making any effort to move at the same time. Zuberi groaned, skipping class was starting to sound tempting, then ae could use that time to rest. Except skipping the first day of class would mean they would have a slight disadvantage when it came to staying on top of things. And if Zarina heard ae wasn’t responsible enough with aer academics, she would sure find a way to take away anything related to pixie dust alchemy that ae had managed to bring to Once Upon a High. Now, that would be a nightmare.

With a sigh, they resigned themself to their fate. To the fact ae didn’t have nearly as much freedom to do as ae pleased. There was a reason for that, though. And ae had to make things up for their mistake.

With that in mind, Zuberi took off their gloves, shoving them in one of the many pouches in aer belt, and dipped aer hands in the pouch that contained the purple pixie dust, sprinkling a pinch on aer wings. That should make up for the time they lost moping around.

They fluttered their wings a couple times, making sure no particle of dust was still flying around, and then proceeded to fly around the corridor to make sure it had worked. When ae was sure that ae now had the fast-flying talent, they rushed towards their room to-

“Woah-”

Okay, maybe they needed to practice fast flying more often. Or to use less dust. They took a mental note of this before resuming aer flight, making sure they were in control of their movements this time.

Zuberi laughed in amazement at how they had managed to grab breakfast and get changed into aer uniform in a matter of minutes. They definitely had to try fast-flying more often to see what else ae could do. Now they had time to spare before class, and the idea of sitting in a classroom waiting for it to begin wasn’t so appealing, truth be told, not when they could fly around, testing aer new fast flying abilities and practicing to see just how much they could do.

Laurie name
Laurie had woken up to extreme amounts of clattering it sounded like an earthquake in a pots and pan shop. He was generally concerned that someone was hurt or breaking into his room when he sleepy walked into the kitchen. The boy that he found there surrounded by an absolute mess and the smell of something horrendous burning made Laurie shake his head. This must have been his roommate. "Are you ok it smells horrendous out here and um that looks like all of our dishes are out…? " He trailed off as he picked up a rag off the counter and took the pan off the stove placing it gently in the sink. “Would you like me to make breakfast?” He asked softly with a little yawn at the end that he just couldn’t manage to hold in.

At this point me and my brother were traveling for a while, which besides the aching feet wasn’t that bad because at least we had more time than ever to bond, and to learn things about ourselves. As we approached the sign that said the name of the high school we were confused. It was a stormy weather, the sign was disheveled but it looked like a road sign, and I suddenly realised we were walking on the road the whole time. However that’s where the road ended. With the sign … And looking in the distance, beside the road there was nothing but desert. I became confused, a bit frightened and weirded out. Darkness swallowed us both as a huge cloud covered us and soaked us whole. I closed my eyes and when I opened them again I was wet and cold and my feet were aching, but it was just aching feet from yesterday and a cold sweat and nothing more than a dream. I was so frightened I would turn so when I saw an unfamilliar but empty room I sighed remebering I’m at the school. I looked at the time and sighed. Just enough time to shower off the sweat and to grab a little something to eat on the way to the classroom. I showered and put on the white unifrom I got with the letter before doing my morning routine and leaving the dorms. On my way to the classroom I stopped at the Castleteria and bought myself a toasted bagel with cottage cheese and one for Asa. As I approached him in the classroom I could see his senses awaken as he smelled the toasted bread and the cheese so I smiled, knowing he would turn in the direction of the smell and see me smiling.

It had been rough on the way here and I still had nightmares about what happened before I met up with Hrvoje. But I had pushed through them and woke up extra early this morning at five in the morning giving me plenty of time to get my thought settled before I went to class. I had sent my brother a message when I had gotten up that I would see him in class because I did’t know where his room was and I didn’t want to disturb others so early in the morning. I had gotten dressed in the uniform which was all white and I didn’t hate it. Honestly it was kind of fitting. I put on my gray sneakers before I had left for class. I arrived in literature and waited for Hrvoje but I smelt him and food and my eyes snapped to the door as soon as he walked in. “Hey.” I say as I smile and run over to him.

Her eyes widened a bit when she heard a masculine-sounding voice behind her. “You know, I think there’s this thing called a dress code? And I’m not saying it looks bad, but your hair could look better.” She glowered at him, though her lips parted slightly. This boy was almost as rude as she was. Before she could insult him back, he asked her a question. “Quick question, is this literature? Not that I really want to be there anyways, it would be nice to know if I am in the right class.” She arched a brow-she had a surprising amount in common with this boy-at least personality-wise. Looks-wise, not so much. He had defined cheekbones, peachy skin, and curly blonde hair. He sort of resembled a ray of sunshine-but after what he had just said to her, his personality obviously didn’t match his looks.

She rolled her eyes, responding, “Don’t go preaching to me about the dress code if you aren’t even going to follow it.” Although he was wearing the white blazer of the guys’ uniform, he was also wearing skinny jeans. “As for my hair, at least I’m not blonde-you know what they say about blondes.” Inside, she felt a bit insecure- now she hoped her ex didn’t run into her and see how bad she looked. She knew her hair was matted, but she hadn’t thought it was that noticeable. She smirked to herself- this *sshole didn’t deserve an answer or her time. But for fun… “Yeah, it is the literature classroom,” She lied to him. “I guess you aren’t as dumb as the others.” She turned away from him slightly after again insinuating his hair color made him stupid.

orp >> i LOVE tristain already!!! so excited for this ;)

“Good morning.” I said as I placed one of the creamed pastries on his desk “I hope you like cottage cheese. I know I sure do. I miss crepes filled with cheese. One day Asa, I’m gonna make them for you. I swear it’s gonna blow your mind.” I said as I placed books on my table. I talked fast trying not to think of my nightmare, but I failed. Once you wake up in the morning and remeber the dream, the feeling of weirdness after it persists the whole day. It’s not the fact that it scared me that bothers me, but that when I woke up and realised how nonsensical my dream was, I cannot stop thinking about it. I turned to face Asa again and decided to ask him how he slept, because if he had a weird but vivid dream or a nightmare, it would mean it was somehow connected. “So … New place, again … How did you sleep last night?” I asked as I took a big bite out of the toasty, warm, sweet and cheese filled crunchy pastry.

Beep! Beep! Beep! “Ahh! Mon Dieu!” Fern Blanchard screamed, falling rather unceremoniously out of her bed. She groaned, picking herself up off the floor and shutting off her alarm. Somehow, her roommate had managed to sleep through that, but how they had was lost on her. She got dressed in her uniform, heading to breakfast. She checked her schedule, sighing when she saw she had math first thing. She got coffee and ate her breakfast, taking her coffee with her to class. She walked into the class, to be met by a strange creature that looked like an impala. “Hello.” She said, moving to extend a hand in greeting, but quickly retracting it when she realized the creature didn’t have hands. “Ah, I’m sorry!”

Alicia Liddel

She took a deep breath before she responded. Alicia was getting used to this whole making friends thing, it would be beneficial to take it slowly. “Well, I think his writing can get really dark. Of Mice and Men, for example. I- Have you read the book? I wouldn’t want to spoil anything.” Alicia was trying to get comfortable, yet her fist was still clenched around her bag strap. She read, this is what she did, it should be easy to talk about.

“… I’d agree with you on most cases, but sometimes it can be wasted. For instance, I think when authors try to describe other social standpoints such as being famous, if they’ve never experienced it themselves it can be underwhelming or exaggerated. That being said, Steinback does an amazing job at portraying farm life - at least the reviews say so. Do you have any authors you enjoy?”

Isaiah was losing control of everything when his roommate, of all people, walked in. His face turned beet-red, “I am so sorry. I was going to try and make a nice breakfast. If you couldn’t tell, food is not my forte.” He was a bit hurt that the smell of his food was horrendous - apparently. Isaiah must not have been able to tell.
“It’s all my fault, really, I didn’t know which dish did what,” he covered his face with his palm and muttered, “How am I supposed to run a kingdom when I can’t even make breakfast?” The fact that he was going to be king was still sinking in - even though he had been aware of this for a while, no one had said it until a month ago.
“Would you like me to make breakfast?” Isaiah looked up, and was honored by the offer. “It’s quite alright. Please, allow me to buy you something from the castleteria.” His eyes widened when his roommate yawned, “I… didn’t wake you up, did I?” He hoped he was wrong in his guess.

TristanWestergaard
To his somewhat surprise, the girl responded. Based on her demeanor, he was half expecting her to ignore him. “Don’t go preaching to me about the dress code if you aren’t even going to follow it.” He smirked, and took a second to look at her. She was rather pretty, even though her hair was completely matted, white suited her. “I didn’t realize you were so interested in my pants, not that I’m complaining.” His smirk faded as she insulted his hair color. Tristan actually liked his hair, and it wasn’t even that blonde. “Is is that they’re incredibly charming and attractive?” It wasn’t his best response, but the best he could currently come up with.

“I guess you aren’t as dumb as the others.”

For a second he wanted to tell her he was the future king, until he realized that was no longer a title he possessed. Which mad him angry at his father, once again reminding him how much he did not want to attend class. She turned away from him and he looked away for a second. Even if this was his class, he hated it here. “Call it a guess but I think you want to be here just as much as I do - which is not saying much. However, I am new here and don’t know of anywhere to ditch. So maybe you have somewhere that could point me in the right direction?”
