|| Kissing Booth - Aidene
“It’s much better than ‘Kitten’ in my opinion,” Aidene said, not meeting his eyes. She slipped her hands into the pockets of her leather jacket. “So…in other words, you love it.” Ivan teased, smiling as he walked next to her, putting his own hands in the pockets of the white suit jacket. After a moment, he took them back out. Mimicking someone’s actions was a sign you liked them, right? And he didn’t want Aidene to know the truth get the wrong idea. She met his eyes, grinning as she responded. Ivan grinned back. “News to me,” He said, his eyebrows raised slightly. “But I bet you don’t have a private water park in your fire-princess castle.” He didn’t have one-neither did he have a castle. But the teenage son of Beauty and the Beast probably did-who didn’t want their own water park?
He smiled, glad she hadn’t thought his reply was odd-or at least she didn’t show it. She listened intently as he spoke about Wonderland. “It is amazing.” He said, a tint of longing in his words. “You should definitely visit. Every time you go there is completely different.” Aidene described her perfect day as hot, with her parents, and at the beach. “Oh, I really like the beach.” Ivan said it had been a while since he’d been there either. It made sense she’d prefer the heat. “You know what? I take Wonderland back. I think that would be my perfect day too. You in a cute swimsuit, applying sunscreen to my back…” Ivan teased, leaning closer to Aidene as he spoke. Of course his perfect day would still be in Wonderland but he couldn’t help but be his stupid self.
”I will happily share the sting of death with you in return.” Aidene said in a mock-cheerful voice. Ivan was glad he had jumped away before she could injure him. “Well, as long as it’s with you.” Ivan said just as cheerfully. He was relieved as she followed him to the booth, even though this probably would be boring to watch. Ivan threw his head back laughing. “You wouldn’t look too bad as a blonde, though.” He said, twirling a chestnut tendril around one finger before ducking away to face the crowd of eager girls. Was that too much? It took a lot of willpower not to turn to see Aidene’s reaction. Aidene seemed to be looking at the crowd too-Ivan couldn’t tell her expression-possibly disbelief or disgust?
Aidene laughed as she read the prices. Ivan peered over her faux-leather clad shoulder, his eyes scanning the words as she read. He whistled when she finished. “With these prices, your boy is going to be making bank!” He whooped, making a “L” shape with his fingers and putting it under his chin-a childish pose. ”Who in their right mind would buy this?!” Just as the last words left her lips, a beautiful blonde Ivan’s age approached the booth. Shooting her a “don’t mind my crazy friend Aidene” look, Ivan leaned forwards. She had a small frame and full lips, and normally she was exactly the kind of girl Ivan would shoot a wink at. But next to Aidene, even a beautiful girl like her looked dull. Ivan didn’t let his expression waver as he grinned at the girl who had just requested two kisses. He could hear Aidene muttering and choking, and then he could feel her eyes on the back of his head.
“Well, who am I to refuse such a beautiful girl?” He flirted. Putting his finger under her chin, he tilted her head up towards his. He pressed his full lips to hers for a second, then pulled away, leaving an inch between them. He inhaled deeply. Why did he feel so guilty? This felt so weird in front of Aidene… After bringing their lips together one last time, he pulled away back to his original spot. Sliding the twenty into the collection box, he couldn’t help but check on Aidene, almost desperately to see what she thought. Why do I wish that was Aidene instead of her? “I think you’re the only one who’s not in the right mind, princess.” he said, quiet enough so the blonde couldn’t hear, his guilt leaking into his tone.
