“I am not!” Aidene insisted, getting even redder. Ivan believed her, she had this innocence about her-not really one with a dirty mind. In a way, it reminded him of his younger Brother, Clay. Wide eyed, curious, Clay who wanted nothing more than to walk at his brother’s side and listen to his stories. Ivan snapped out of it, frustrated. He couldn’t compare Aidene to his brother ,that would make their relationship more personal. She looked away, adding, “My sisters are more interested in that.” Ivan pressed his lips together, feeling slightly guilty as she mentioned her b-tches of sisters again. He supposed everyone’s interest in the topic varied, which was fine. Still, he couldn’t help but scowl and think negatively of the people he had heard so many bad things about. He didn’t joke back, the mood was a bit darker now. Instead, he laughed as she glared, asking if she should stammer as well. “Well,” He put his hands behind his head. “If you insist.” He looked her up and down, grinning mischievously.

She turned to face him as he finished. Her cheeks turned light pink and she rose an eyebrow. “Huh, striking similarities.” Ivan’s eyes widened and he threw out his hands. “I know, right?” She chuckled. “Huh, you’re sticking with that nickname, then?” Ivan shrugged casually. “Again, it fits. Plus, I think you secretly like it.” He grinned cheesily, wagging a finger at her. “But yes, of course, as royalty, it is my duty to protect the environment around me.” She gave him a sarcastic curtsy. Most of the royals Ivan had met didn’t care much about the environment, turning forests into cabins for weekend getaways or taking endangered species in as their personal companions. Even though she was mostly being sarcastic, he couldn’t help but smile. “I guess you think you’re a better royal than me, then? Not everyone has a built in incinerator.”

She nodded at his “middle name”, not saying anything. Ivan’s eyes flickered from Aidene to his hands, and back to her again. “Mine?” A small smile flickered on her lips, and after a small pause, she continued. “Carina.” “Carina.” Ivan repeated. “That’s-” He stopped, hadn’t he called her pretty too many times in the conversation? It was almost like - “A cool name.” He finished, sounding odd. He would have to remember her name- Aidene Carina. The words felt warm in his mouth. He would keep them along with all the memories, tucked away in his mind, to take out and remember when he was locked back inside the agency, never to see her again. “If you could go and visit anywhere, where would you go?” She asked, it being her turn now. “Wonderland.” Ivan replied immediately, thinking of his father and brother. He wondered if they still lived in that cobblestone house. He wondered if they were safe. Snapping out of it, he slipped back into his “Ivan Beast” persona with ease. “I’ve been before and it was pretty awesome. They have the best activities. It’s been a while, though.” The last line wasn’t a lie at least. He didn’t want to ask the same question she had asked him again, even though he was curious. Instead, he asked, “What would your perfect day be like?” Like the agency would want to know… After his day with her, he was pretty sure he knew his answer. Just add his family and remove his agency…

He was caught off guard when the pink haired girl threw her arms around him, standing on tip-toe. Still, he smiled and gave her a friendly squeeze. “Thank you!” Ivan ran his fingers through his brown locs, which were still un-gelled. “It’s no problem, really.” I should be the one thanking her… Aidene rose a brow at him, and he couldn’t quite tell what she was thinking. “Don’t come to me if you end up getting Mononucleosis.” Ivan leaned in close and smirked at her. “Aw, but what if I want to share it with you?” He teased, before pulling back so she wouldn’t punch him in the gut. He frolicked away to behind the booth, wondering if she would follow him. Hopefully the pink haired girl wouldn’t mind her being there like he would. She brushed some hair out of her face as the intimidating group of girls began to close in on him. “You’ve already got a crowd. Like Pinky said, I pity you. Deeply.” Ivan shrugged arrogantly. “As expected. But you wish you were them.” He nodded towards the girls before giving Aidene one last look. He had to act confident if he was going to be able to pull this off. He already felt strange about kissing all these girls in front of Aidene.

I took a deep breath, staring up at the school in front of me. My mother had already left, after making sure I was ok, and I clutched my bags, highly apprehensive of this new place. (1)“Ceart go leor, seo linn…” I muttered, lugging my bags into the building, wide eyed, looking around in shock. (2)“Wow…tá an áit seo ollmhór…” I whispered in awe, going to get my dorm assignment. I got settled, deciding to look around.
(1) “Ok, here we go…”
(2) “Wow, this place is huge…”

After the lunch was over I felt as if I was bothering Tatiana with my presence so I wrote down in her notebook “Thank you Tatiana, you’ve helped me a great deal more than anything or anyone else in my life did. I’ll never forget it. But however good it feels to help somebody out I feel as if I stayed now it would be asking too much of you. There’s a limit between helping somebody and doing everything for them and I don’t want to cross it no matter who it is helping me. So goodbye, I better leave you alone now.” I gave her back the notebook and waved before she even finished the first sentence so now withouth reading it through she knew I was about to leave. I turned around and walked a away after the goodbye. I also made sure there was a smiley face at the end of the last sentence, but I’m not sure why I felt like including it. I focused on the floor and started walking in a bad posture trying not to harm any more plants or trees. I think walking like this could end up at a chiropractors office if I walk like this but honestly he likes it better than the guilt that would come with killing any more vegetation.

After a few minutes of walking around not knowing where I’m going becuase I can’t face forward made me almost bump into a girl standing still around some corner. Even though I didn’t trip her or bump into her I felt an apology was needed for probably scaring her. I raised my head and since it was in a unnatural position for a while it hurt and I whimpered instantly rubbing the back of my neck before saying “Sorry for that, I didn’t … see you there.” I said trying to readjust my aching neck.

I jumped when I heard a males voice behind me, accidentally turning into a wisp. I quickly turned back, blushing in embarrassment. I waved, not trusting myself to speak this new language well. I shuffled awkwardly, mouthing “Sorry.” I was sure he’d expect me to speak, but I didn’t want to get made fun of.

As I saw her flustered becuase of my interaction I figured she was as shy as I am. I mean the way I talked to her was shy and she got scared. That’s why when she waved to me I felt so warm and happy. She knows exactly what it’s like and that’s rare to see for me. And also I don’t need to be afraid of what she thinks of me when I say something stupid becuase I know for a fact she’s also overthinking the interaction were in. This is probably the one and only person to whom I can say something stupid withouth having to fear what she’ll think of in the long run. I decided to make her feel the same way so I decided to compliment her powers becuase I assume being this shy she feels as they’re weird.
"Wow, I like how your eyes turned a different shade of blue just now. And you turned into a … " I couldn’t quite find a right word for what I saw becuase books never entitled me with a picture of what their words meant so I said “a beautiful blue ghost. Honestly if that’s your power I’m jelous.” I kinda was since I had a power which was practically uncontrolable and as far as I saw she could turn into a blue ghost whenever she wanted to or whenever certain reactions made her that way, but mine was on all the time and I had no clue how or if I could turn it off. I didn’t offer her a handshake knowing she could be too shy for it so I just said “My name is Lav, what’s yours?”

I opened my mouth, speaking in a strong Irish accent. “Thank ye. It’s called a Will O‘ Wisp. The eyes happen when I’m scared, angry or using my powers. My name is Aithne O’ Brien. Nice to meet ye.” I said. I was thankful I actually managed to get words out.

I smiled when I realised the reason she wasn’t talking to me was her accent. I quite enjoy accented people especially the ones with a heavy accent. I used to read some descriptions of characters mentioned that they had a strong irish or scottish or russian accent, but I never knew what it sounded like so I was actually please to hear it for once. I know what I’m about to say might make me seem stupid but I had to say it “That’s a fascinating accent, where is it from.” Becuase I’ve never heard any accent before except from the slavic accent my parents and other gods would speak in considering they are slavic so it wasn’t really my fault for not knowing where it was from.

“Oh, I lived in Ireland my whole life. I’ll sometimes start talking in Gaelic on accident. Tell me if I am and I’ll translate. Where are ye from?” I asked, walking alongside him. “Can ye give me a tour?”

I liked the fact she wasn’t from here and there was something she was ashamed of even though her doesn’t make as much sense as my situation. Now I can relate to her on another level and that’s the most amazing feeling in the world considering I’m so different than anybody I met I never had anybody that was so much like me. When she asked for my origins I said “I’m a son of a slavic God.” Which doesn’t really answer her question but explaining where I was up until this point is still a subject I don’t like sharing. I chuckled a bit when she asked for a tour. “I was goin to ask you for a tour as well, I never knew you were also new here. I’ve only been to the lunch spot with somebody and I have no idea how I got here to be honest.” I really didn’t.

I got confused “No, I said slavic, meaning Russian and Polish and Bosnian and such. I didn’t say Scandinavian.” I chuckled. “I didn’t know how I could actually say the word slavic so weirdly to sound like Scandinavian to you.” I nodded as she followed "Me too. And I’m … " I said this in almost a whisper “scared.” because admitting I’m scared was always a sign of weakness, my mom made sure to tell me that every time.

I looked at her and said “You’re not an idiot for acidentally that, I do it a lot and if I said you were an idiot for that I’d be saying I was an idiot as well. Trust me, when you get nervous about everything that happens all the time … but you … already know … that.” I got a bit flustered because I was talking nonsense again. “I’m sorry pay no attention … to … me.” I sigh knowing I have gone into madness. I can’t talk in real life.

“Oh, I’m fine. I just speak directly from my mind and sometimes while I realise what I’m saying is stupid or botched becuase the thought makes sense in my head but sounds different coiming from my mouth, I make little pauses to stop talking and every time I ask myself if I should just stop talking or continue with the thought no matter how stupid it might sounds. It’s really nerve racking. Is it the same with you?”

I thought about it a bit “Actually in my case it’s the opposite.” I smiled before explaining “Most of the times my gob can’t keep up with my brain.” I looked at her “So, where were you hoping to go? The dorms or the lunch room or the classrooms? Maybe we can find our way together.”

I hoped by following me she didn’t mean I’ll lead her to the dorms and she’ll follow behind, becuase I think I said already I don’t know my way around this school either. So I made sure to say it again. “Just to be clear, I don’t know my way around the school either. Sure I’ve been to the cafeteria and back, but I was so focused on and sidetracked by something else I don’t remeber the way to any of the places.” I don’t know how she feels right now but I hope she didn’t think I knew where I was going and is now dissapointed in me. Anyways, I kept on talking “I’ve been walking around this place with my head stuck to the ground” Which was also very literal, but I don’t think she or anybody else would get that little inside joke but me. I smiled, not at her but at the joke trying not to chuckle at something only I find funny. In that case she would think I was a mental case, which in a way I am. “But if you want you can discover this place with me. Just … when you’re with me you might want to stay away from grassy areas or areas with any vegetation around. Please don’t ask why because I’m sure a lot of people would hate me for it.”
