or is that not under y’all’s control?
because these are all horrendous

I am pretty sure that is out of our control. I will have Cali verify but as far as I know that is out of our control.
Then by the looks of this, it’s just a verification link, which is how many logins work these days. For user protection, you know, the reason for 2-factor authentication, it looks similar to that.
Yes, Kate is correct. Sadly, this is a discourse update and change, and we didn’t plan for this. It was just given to all the discourse forums in the latest update. Here’s what they changed in terms of the emojis; see below:
Unless this thread is outdated you should be able to select the emoji set to be used as an administrator, they probably just changed the default one from apple to twitter or whatever that one is?
I BEG IF THIS IS POSSIBLE PLEASE
Oh, thank you for this, duckling. Usually, in the updates, they explain that they can be changed in settings if it is the case, so I foolishly assumed it couldn’t. But yes, it appears we can. Thank you.
It is, although, before anything is changed, we’ll make it a forum decision, yeah. Let’s make it a poll for this weekend and everyone can decide what we change it to in a couple of days.
Sounds completely understandable!! Let us know when the poll is up :).
You may have noticed over the last week or so that the emojis have changed after the last update. Thanks to @/Duckling, we now know that we can choose which ones we’d prefer to use, and that’s up to you guys this weekend (or the next couple of days).
Look at each one below and choose which one(s) you’d prefer to use on the forum. And hopefully the majority agree.
Yes, many of these are the same, but we wanted to give you all the options in case certain ones switch the version they’re using down the line.
I just posted it. ^^^
It’s very close in votes, but currently we’re keeping them as they are. I’ll leave the poll open until later today (closing it around 2025-03-21T04:00:00Z) for anyone else who wants to vote.
Alrighty guys, it seems the decision was made in the poll above, and we majority decided we are staying with…
Soooooo new update huh?
Is there an issue? Or is there something else different besides the typewriter font in post drafts?
I’m not sure about anyone else, but anytime some comments on a post I’m getting notifications. And I’m muting them so I won’t get them from ones I don’t want.
That will probably be linked to the users you’re following, as the follow seems to have been fixed with discourse moving it into their selection of built in apps. So I suggest looking at who you’re following before mute any threads.
Or it also could be from some of the staff editing thread tags or closing threads. If this is the case, you’ll only get the one notification from each one.
Not necessarily an issue - just defo changes that are noticeable and I didn’t see an official conversation about it yet.
Though I will say the fact that we can’t use “[color]” if we’re not on the “M” function is frustrating
Especially with the M function changing the font type
Woah! That’s interesting.
Alrighty, I’ll have a look tomorrow (as today I can’t ’cause I’m now work and then I think people wanna do stuff with me for some reason). But I’ll look to see if we can turn this off and if we can, I’ll do a poll to ask. But I’ll also look at the other new changes.
I know they’ve changed the themes and I want to look at how, but ours are still the same, for now.
The M function? What’s that? Is that the new button ypu have to press to simultaneously see both the text editor and the finished text?
P.S. @CrazyCaliope Happy birthday!
Not really liking this forum updates they feel weird, especially the emojis
