I smiled back as my confession was answered by a kiss and a smile. It was an confession I had been giving a bunch of time in my head when I was alone, but I had been afraid to tell him, scared that his answer was different from mine, but it wasn’t. It wasn’t and that made me happier than I’ve ever been.
I nodded at his question and after he removed some hair, I took his hand and started to skate again. “Do you want to take the forest route?” I asked, I’ve heard that the rivers have frozen as well, so you can take a route through the forest by ice" I explained and looked around. “we’ll have a little more privacy” I added softly as I already made my way towards the forest.

I loved that he had no complaints that I held him close. I never wanted him to know the kind of pain he had before me ever again. I was glad he loved me back it meant a lot to hear that from him especially since I had never been very successful in relationships. I lay my head on his shoulder I just liked knowing he was close.
I smiled holding his hand as we skated a little more. Honestly this day would forever be one of my favorites. “Yeah let’s take the forest route maybe we will get lucky and see some animals or something.” I say as I get excited as I hold his hand and skate in that direction. “I dont mind privacy either.” I say as I blush a little and kiss his cheek again. I just couldnt help myself.

I smiled as I took his hand and we skated to the forest part. the little kiss made me feel fuzzy inside and somewhere I wondered how I turned from a lone crow into a love dove in just a few days. I didn’t think I would ever find someone as special as Arch nor think anyone could ever mean so much to me. but it also worried me.
When we were alone I took a deep breath and took both his hands as I skated backwards so I could talk to him. “Arch…I…First of I wanted to tell you just how special you are to me, you’re amazing and I never thought I would ever have someone like you by my side” I started. “Before I met you I didn’t care about anything, not even my own health or safety. Because I lived as a crow so much, I thought I was untouchable and so I made a lot of people angry. I don’t know if they are even going to show up, but I wanted you to know, if it ever came to it, I would do anything in my power to make sure you’re safe, and I’ll always be by your side, not matter what happens” I told him.

We headed down the forest area and I kept Gen close to me he meant so much to me so suddenly that it still shocked me. Every little kiss of affirmation of love he gave me made me feel warm, cozy, and above all els so loved. He was so special and amazing already. I didnt know what I would do without him but I didnt need to.
I was shaken out of my thoughts when he took both my hands and began to skate backwards. “What is it Gen?” I asked as I heard him stumble over his first few words. He words were so sweet I needed to hear them I enjoyed that I now knew for certain that he felt the same way that I did. I started to cry a little when he started to tell me about how he didnt even care about his own health before me. I wrapped my arms around him and held him close. “You know I am always here for you and you mean so much to me that I wouldn’t let anyone hurt you if I had any say in it.” I say as I smile at him and tug his hat back down over his ears. “I love you Genosta.”

Holding him tightly I felt safe in his arms, and I held him safe in mine. "I can’t lose you Arch, you’re the first happiness I have had in so long"I said and held him closer.
In all honesty, loving him was both the best and the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced. I loved him, but loving him meant I now had somethong I could lose. I was scared the happiness I felt with him would slip away from me, be taken from me or just vanish. I was scared if I didn’t hold him close, I was going to lose him. “I just don’t want to lose you, now that I found you” I whispered.
It was this moment that I showed weakness for the first time in a long time. I didn’t have to act tough around him, nor pretend to be invincible. I could show all my sides, even the weak ones.

I smiled as he wrapped his arms around me too. It was an amazing feeling it warmed my heart and and made me feel so amazingly loved.
I loved him so much and knowing that he loved me just as much made me feel safe with him. I could tell he was scared about something but that was really worrying me. When he spoke I imediently knew what it was that was scaring him. “Gen deep breath no one is going to take me away from you if I have a say in it and Im not willingly going anywhere.” I say as I smile and run my fingers across his cheek. “I dont want to lose you either but I think we can manage to keep ahold of each other.” I say as I smile
I just held him I liked the softer more emotional side of him that I didnt get to see much. I kissed his cheek and smiled. “I am so glad we met and that you gave me a chance Gen.”

I gave Arch a soft smile as he tried to reassure me but there were still worries. “What if you
didn’t have a say in it? And you weren’t
willingly taken from me” I asked and sighed. “I’ve seen good people be taken from me by no one but life. I’ve seen good people being influenced by bad people, not knowing what they did” I added and sighed before I felt his hand on my cheek and I put mine on top before I gave him a sad but honest smile. “I just don’t want to have to feel like that again” I explained.
I then chuckled. “To be fair…” I said and hugged him back. “…it was you who opened the window for an injured bird” I explained, not realizing where we were skating and my skate got stuck behind a air bump, making us both fall onto the ice, me at the bottom. I start to chuckle. “ouch” I laughed though the pain before laying down, wrapping my arms around Arch and just laying there.

“I don’t go down without a fight Gen you should know that.” I say as I smile at him. I knew that his worries of losing me would never go away and he had a good reason for those worries I was sure but I needed him to know I wouldn’t allow myself to be lost or taken from him. “Life has already thrown me more curve balls than anyone deserves in one lifetime Gen I have managed and I will keep managing.” I say as I rub my thumb over his cheek. “Don’t worry so much I am not going to let anything happen and if anything tries to I won’t let it happen easily.” I say as I smile at him. “I know that feeling sucks and I can’t guarantee it won’t but I need you to know I will do everything I possibly can to keep it from ever happening.” I kiss his head and try and get a smile from him.
“What can I say I am an optimist I see the light in any situation.” I say as I giggle and pull his hat down over his ears a bit more. I felt Gen state to fail and tried hard to correct the movement but with his added weight on mine it was pretty much impossible. As we fell I made sure to catch myself on my wrists so I wouldn’t fall completely on top of him. I didnt want him hurt again. I let my buddy fall to the ice beside him as soon as he wrapped his arms around me. “Gen I love you but this is so cold.” I mumble as I held my left wrist it hurt pretty bad and I realized I shouldn’t have tried to catch myself using my wrists.

I smiled and put a stray lock of hair back under his beanie. “What if I prefer you don’t have to fight at all?” I asked with a little sideways head shrug. I then let out a sigh as I turn him onto me so he was no longer on the ice but instead on me. “Now it isn’t” I said with a smile but noticed him holding his wrist. “Are you hurt?” I asked as I sat up and carefully pulled up his sleeve to see his wrist. It wasn’t blue or swollen, but it was red and stuff so I was still worried. “Come on, let’s go back to that lady and see if she can heal it, just in case” I said and got up before helping him.
I wasn’t sure if it was anything serious, it might just be a little sore and nothing else, but I didn’t want to brush of his pain or the chance that he was injured more serious than it would appear right now. I then skated to the side and put some snow in my scarf before returning. “Here, it can be used as a temporary ice pack” I said and looked at him. “Are you alright?” I asked.

I sigh and cuddle him close. “Well I love you so I think that is all that matters Gen.” I say as I smile and sit up pulling him into my lap. My wrist burt but I didn’t want him to worry too much because my wrist was kind of messed up before. So I didn’t know if it was hurt or just sore from agitating the old injury. “I don’t know my wrist hurts but it was messes up before now. I broke it when I was younger and it didn’t heal right.” I say as i kiss him as I smile. “I’m just so happy to have you.” I let him help me to my feet and I lean my head on him. Seeing how worried he was really meant a lot because it showed just how much he cared about me.
“Gen it’s not broken I don’t think but I am pretty sure I just agitated it.” I say as I skate with him back towards the lodge. “With both of us getting hurt today maybe that is our sign to call it a day.” I say as I giggle. “Gen I am ok i promise I’ll just put my wrist brace on when we get home. I should be fine.”

I turned to him with a frown as he insisted he was okay and we should call it a day. I then let out a defeated sogh and nodded. “Okay, but if it’s not better tomorrow, we’re getting it checked put” I said and took his other hand.
As we skated, I didn’t know what else to say, I was both happy to be with him, but also still worried about him being hurt. “guess I’ll have to cook tonight though since you’re unable to do much” I said with a joking tone of accusational complaining. “so, what’re you hungry for?” I asked.
Its been years since I had last cooked, but I was sure I could still do it, I grew up having to cook since my mom died, so who knows, it might be something I can pull off automatically.

I kissed his cheek trying to calm his worry at least a little. “Don’t worry too much ok.” I say as I smile at him and lean my head on his. “We can go get it checked tomorrow if that makes you stop worrying but the second they tell me I need surgery or something because of how it was mess up before. Just know I will say no Im not doing it.” I say as I hold his hand,
I was happy to have him and it was hard to see how worried he got about me. It had been a really long time since anyone had been worried about me at all. I smiled when I heard him talk about cooking though. “Wait you are going to cook for me tonight?” I asked excited. “Make whatever you are comfortable with I like just about anything baby.”
“I can help you too if you want me to.” I say as I head to the lodge with him. “Hey Gen I used to have a sister.” I mumble as I try to share some of my demons with him.
