Nope.
Nope.
Wear headphones and listen to music.
I’m perfectly fine walking by myself. I do it every night.
Nope, people don’t really notice me.

Oh god. Yikes…

You shouldn’t be too comfortable, be careful okay?

I agree. Not all environments are safe at all. My neighborhood may be fairly quiet but other areas are a lot more dangerous

Ok let me start

• being whistle at is very frequent for me, don’t know why. Mostly from cars.
• so this time, I was walking with a friend in a VERY busy street. It was a sunny summer day and it was DAYTIME. I wasn’t wearing ‘provocative’ clothes (I hate saying that btw). My friend and I were walking calmly when this 30 year old man started coming our way. He was holding some packages, so my first thought was that he was gonna offer us something. I was ready to decline when he came 3 inches away from my face and told me ‘GORGEOUS’. AND THEN HE TRIED TO KISS ME. My friend pushed him to help me. And luckily he walked away like nothing happened. I was terrified that he might have had followed us. I was so disgusted. But what was sadder is that nobody around me (people who were walking by) said nothing. Or even asked me if I was okay. I was only 15 btw.
• Another day I was walking again during daylight (cause now I don’t dare to walk at night) with a girl friend. When some car driven by two old men stopped by and asked if we wanted a ride. We said no. But they kept following us and catcalling us. We decided to enter a shop and luckily when we came out, they have disappeared.
• Oh and let’s not forget about all the times, they catcall me. Even with my mom.
• Another day I was walking by myself wearing a oversized hoodie and sweatpants. I had headphones on so I didnt realize I was being followed. (it was night time btw) Some boy around my age came to me and said hi like we were friends. Then he whispered to me: “this guy has been following you and he’s holding something. Please let’s just pretend I’m your friend so you can get wherever you’re heading safe.” I was shocked. We walked together and talked until the old man stopped following me.
I’m so thankful to this guy cause I don’t know what could have happened if it weren’t for him.

-this are the ones I remember the most. Maybe I’m missing something but now I avoid creepy streets, walking at night and specially walking alone.
Also please this is very personal to me, and I don’t usually tell personal things on the forums. So this has been huge for me

Thank you for reading it. :heartpulse:

please, always wear something to protect yourself with or even learn somethings about self defense. (there’s plenty of safe tutorials on youtube).

What is funny is that they don’t dare to catcall you or anything when you’re walking with guy.

That’s…terrifying. I always had my dorm key on a lanyard so I can stab someone if needed.
