I’ve heard the argument of maybe you should dress in less revealing clothes

WHY CAN I NOT JUST DRESS HOW I WANT TO

WHY IS IT MY JOB TO PREVENT BAD STUFF FROM HAPPENING TO ME? Why do we just deal with this like men harassing women is just a part of society and women should learn how to deal with it??

One time I was walking by myself, the sun was setting. This old man was following me and he pulled up right next to me on a street where cars aren’t supposed to stop at, he asked if I wanted a ride. I said no, he kept asking, I said no, he wouldn’t stop and eventually he left. Then my friend was walking home the same day and the same man who harassed me asked if my friend wanted a ride. Then a few months later, I’m going to eat at dinner with a friend and the same man pulled up next to me, when I looked at him, he drove off—
