Mistifying rp - offical thread 🌬

You and some other people have decided to head to Misty Meadows, a remote resort deep in a valley of the Hamnach Mountains. This place is known for its silence and their mysterious but beautiful fog banks. The spa is made as a piece of land where people go for a long time to find themselves again for whatever reason. Most of these people have come to a point they need to start over and use the resort as a way of cleaning their past and starting over after they leave.

The place is so remote and hidden that no one knows exactly where it is and that a van from the resort itself is the only one going there.

Rumours have it that the drivers are being trained to blindly drive through the fog, making them the only ones to arrive safely.

However, while you are driving in the van, something goes wrong and the van ends up off the road.

You come to, and miraculously everyone except the driver has survived.

But now you have the following problem, you are stuck in a valley without an idea of how to get back to civilization or the spa resort.

As a group you decide to walk into a random direction, and at nightfall, you end up in an old abandoned village.

The village consists of timber-based houses that are rotten and fused with moss, ivy and other plants. a nasty fog hangs around the village at the time that you have seen everything. You set up camp here and discover the next day that you can no longer get out.

As the train continues it’s travel to the next town, you all walk out of the station where a little shuttle bus is waiting with a guy (Charles) leaning against it. he is smoking a cigarette and doesn’t look like someone who would work at a famous resort, but on the shuttle bus has the branding of the resort on it.

Once the guy spots you all, he throws away the cigarette and approaches you all. “Good morning, Misty Meadows likes to warmly welcome you and thanks you for choosing to use our services to improve your life” He says before leading you all to the shuttle. There he checks whenever or not everyone has arrived and lets you take your seat in the bus.

You drive out of the tiny mountain village and enter a one-way thin road that zig-zags as if it were a snake, moving along the mountain.

After 5 minutes, your view slowly changes into white, until the edge of the road isn’t even visual anymore. The driver slows down and you continue with a slower tempo into the whiteness.

Every turn surprises you that the driver knows when to turn and which way and during the ride, everyone is silent so the driver can concentrate.

After about 15 minutes, however, something happens. The driver turns right and suddenly you feel yourself being lifted from your seat, only being held by the seatbelts. time seems to stop for only a brief moment as you all hang in the shuttle before suddenly with a rough hit, everything goes black.

As you come to, you don’t know where you are, what happened, but you know one thing, you are in pain but alive. as you look around you, you see more people wake up. Most people seem to only have a small wound around their head (Winston, Leslie, Ji-Yeon, Ivan, Nikolas,). They look a bit disoriented and you can assume they hit their head hard. Others have cuts on their arms (Frederick, Aya, Eva, Min-Joon, Kendal) or on their legs (Hrishi, Marc, Daphne, Caroline).

The only person that seems to not have made the fall, is the driver. His eyes are still open and in his hand, he holds a photograph of a 7-year-old girl. on his arm, there is a tattoo of a chain that is broken and between the break, it has the date: 02-04-2018.

Nikolas got off the train, clutching his backpack which hung on his right shoulder. “Ha! Finally…” he sighed and looked for the driver. He was nowhere to be seen. “Good morning, Misty Meadows-”. He turned around to see a scruffy man escorting people to the bus which took them to Misty Meadows. ‘Huh? Weird… where’s Oliver?’ he thought to himself and followed the man. Oliver was the driver Nikolas knew. Had they fired him? What was going on?

He and the others sat. He took out his phone and texted Maeve and Kara that he had got on the bus.

He then plugged in his earphones and played music through Spotify. There was no wifi but who needs that when you have Spotify Premium? (totally not sponsored or advertised). Listening to the calming music, he almost fell asleep, but was interrupted. He felt his head hit something hard and rough. And slowly, his vision became blurry and he lost consciousness.

He was later awoken by the cold air. “Huff…” he clutched his head and slowly sat up. There was a small bump on his head. Where… was he? He looked around and saw silhouettes lying around unconscious or talking to people. Probably the people that boarded the bus with him. He assumed all were as confused as him.

‘Alright, alright, don’t panic, don’t panic,’ he reminded himself and got up. His fingers automatically went up to his mouth and he started chewing off his skin. “Ah! Don’t do that!” he said to himself and put both his hands in his pockets. Nikolas decided to look around, even though all he could see were silhouettes and thick, white fog.

I’m at the station, ma. I’ll contact you later when I reach the destination.

One last text sent, before the phone was shoved into the pocket. Hrishi rose his head up with the usual shine of curiosity in his eyes and a small smile. Following the crowd, who were supposedly his co-passengers, he went ahead until they were approached by a tough-looking man. Hrishi had his eyes fixated at the man’s lips.

“Good morning, Misty Meadows likes to warmly welcome you and thank you for choosing to use our services to improve your life”

Mm-hmm. Nice - he thought and nodded. Hrishikesh boarded on the bus. So what if the track would be covered with mist , staring into the mist was a interesting thing too. Guessing what could be there on the other side, was a very interesting and challenging game. Hrishi was glad to get the window seat.

That was the last thing Hrishikesh could remember so far. Everything was a foggy blur when he had fluttered his eyes open. In a panicky state of mind, he looked around himself, blinking slowly a few times to make the vision clearer. His co-passengers , whom he saw at the station and boarded on the bus along with, were unconscious or slowly coming back to their senses. What happened? Why am I… - Hrishi tried to stand up. But had to plop back down due to a sting in his leg. Looking down, he saw a long cut, in his left leg. The wound was open and it was still bleeding.

Tearing a strip from the red t-shirt he was wearing, he tied around the wound before he managed to stand up and made his way to the only figure that was not moving at all, limping. Turning it around, he could recognize the driver.

“WOAH!”, exclaimed Hrishi in utter shock.

The next moment he drew a long breath to calm himself down first and then crouched down to check the pulse. Oh no… - he exhaled deeply. The only person to know their location or to get them out of this trouble, was no more. The stillness around them, the layers of mist, everything seemed eerie. And then there was this dead body. Was he holding this photograph when he was driving as well? Heaven knows. Hrishi pulled his phone out to dial 911. And like every horror movie, there was no signal. But Hrishi quickly clicked the picture of driver holding the photograph, of the photograph itself and the tattoo on his arm, not long before someone bumped into him and fell. “Oh! I’m really sorry.”, he apologized and turning around, offered his hand to help him up.

As I slowly come to, I look around at the other injured people around me. My eyes were extremely fuzzy; but had finally adjusted to the light. I tried to get up, but I felt a strong pain in my leg. I look down; and find a large rose red cut going down it. I wince at the sight, and push my half black and half strawberry blonde hair behind my ears so that I could get a clearer view.

The cut was large, but not fatal. I stood up and dusted myself down. Lots of grit caught onto most parts of my body. Luckily I wasn’t the only one there, so I suggest:

“Maybe we should all start walking?” I exclaimed, because we were all lost. I assumed anyway. I caught a glance at the photograph in the driver’s hand; before anyone could reply.

The events leading up to now were all blurry considering it was only us in a fog encased enviorment where no sign of anything could be spotted from anywhere within the bus. It was like an out-of body experience and felt like a dream. When the memory of it ended and I opened my eyes believing it actually wasn’t a dream, the pain from the fall set in and I realised it was actually real. My hair was going over my pounding head and as I tried to put it away I noticed some of the hairs were stuck. I reached to the sticky part of my head where these hairs were stuck to find out they were stuck to blood. With much of my hair still shielding my view I couldn’t see much, but I saw enough. Most people had wounds and considering my didn’t seem as bad as theirs I thought I would approach somebody and help them out. But who to approach? The guy with the cury hairstyle? The beat up guy? The Melanie Martinez wannabe? The girl with cure ringlets? The reepy dude? The cute f*ckboy? The asian workaholic? The cute asian? The tall blonde? The girl who is both blonde and brunette? The Indian girl? The gi … Oh that’s a guy? Or the clean chaven asian dude? I decided to approach one of them and asked “What do you need help with?”

“Woah!” Nikolas heard someone exclaim. He needed to go see who it was. Maybe talk to them about what they were going to do now. This was clearly the driver’s fault. Nikolas knew the moment he saw the new man, he couldn’t be trusted. That scruffy beard, shabby clothes and the cigarette in his hand was a big no for him.

He couldn’t see a single thing. He blindly walked through the fog to where he thought the sound came from. “Oof!” he bumped into someone and fell back. “Oh! I’m really sorry.” the voice said. It sounded like a man. “Uh… yeah, that’s fine. I don’t blame you. I can’t see a damn thing too.” he grabbed the man’s hand and got back up.

He searched his pockets for his phone and found it. It was a bit broken but other than that, it worked fine. There was still music playing. “Huh? Spotify’s still playing? How strong is this phone?” he chuckled and turned it off. He opened Google Maps and it showed nothing. No network like he had expected. “Damn it!” he clenched his fist, his nails digging into his palm.

“I’m Nikolas,” he said to the man after a few minutes of silence. “…It looks like we’re… lost…” Nikolas has had no problem with his words. But now, he didn’t know what to say… What exactly do you say in this kind of a situation?

After a few seconds after being awake I started cursing my life decisions in my head. Why did I think I needed change? Look where it lead to? I was perfectly fine the way I was. You know this is all Jack’s fault. If he wasn’t such a horrible father maybe I wouldn’t need to change in the first place. He’s the one who needs to change but nobody sees that. When I saw a very young girl approach me I wondered what she wanted. When she asked “What do you need help with?” I looked at her curiously and when she reliased I didn’t know what she meant her eyes dropped down and I followed her gaze to my arm, which had a cut along it, and was bleeding. “Oh my god!” I exlaimed as I noticed the ring of red colour arnound my sleeve was spreading and the cloth sticking ot the open wound. “I assume that means you do need help.” She said.
"Why are you offering help? Are you … " I realised a girl who’s barely a teenager cannot be a nurse or a doctor so instead I said “studying to be a nurse?” instead.
“No, but the thought to be here and watch people die jsut because I don’t have the knowledge to save lives makes me feel useless and guilty.”
“Well maybe you should check if there’s a nurse or a doctor anywhere on the bus, I don’t want yo uto screw anything up. No offence kid.”

The girl stands up as much as she can in thsi wreck of a bus and shouts “Any doctor or registered nurse here?”

FREDERICK "You really think any of the people here who are medically trained would be sane enough or unharmed enough to do this?
GIRL : “Well do you want my help or not?”
I rolled my eyes and was about to nod when from the end of a bus I heard. “HEY KID!” And we both turned to see a guy with a wounded leg. Looking at the girl she realised what this means and went to help him get here immediately.
GIRL: “So you’re medically trained?”
GUY: “Tehnically, I’ve got the best education a cell can get you.”
Me and the girl looked at each other, not knowing how bad his treatment would be. Now I wish I hadn’t said anything and just let her wrap my arm in a piece of cloth rather than some maniac manhandle it and make it even worse.
Worried what he might do I asked “So … what would you do in this situation?”
He noticed the blood slowly pooling on my sleeve and he said “I’d call the prison doctor and lie about how it got slashed in the first place, but in this situation. I’ll have to try the movie logic of a hot knive.”
FREDERICK: “I’m sorry but I’m not having movie logic treat my hand! I could go for the … girl’s logic or prison logic, but movie logic is out of question!”
GIRL: “Yeah I owuldn’t go for that either.”
“Btw the way it’s Leslie.”
FREDERICK “Yeah whatever, Leslie.”
GUY : “Well if you’re so picky why don’t you just not get any treatment at all and risk infection? There’s a big chance nothing happens.”
I was about to insult him on his lack of intelligence when somebody asked the whole bus “Maybe we should all start walking?” and I shouted back “Take him withc you” as I painfully pointed towards the guy “He’d risk infection!”. And after a pause I said “If you want more people to join you though, you gotta stope the bleeding.”

@anon48598989 ORP - If you want you can only take Marcus with you on the search, but if you join them and help Frederick you can also have him and Leslie join you.

Hrishi found himself in an awkward position when his companion mentioned music. Okay, Spotify was a music app and it was still playing. Good. But Hrishi could not tell. “Your phone seems to be quite strong.”, he could still joke, standing beside a dead body, talking to a total stranger, having no idea of where he was standing and where he would go from there. Yes, that was pretty messed up.

Now it was time for concentration again. “I’m Nikolas,” the man said before letting a note of silence fall, “…It looks like we’re… lost…” he added later. Hrishi nodded in response. “I’m Hrishikesh, and if it’s too difficult to pronounce, just Hrishi will do.” , he introduced himself. “If you’re gonna try Google Maps, or calling someone, don’t. We got absolutely no service here. First time experience in starring in a Horror movie. I’d say I’m quite thrilled”, he joked laughing lightly before his tone got gloomy again eyeing at the dead body.

“He’s… Uh… He’s no more.”, he stated gloomily. “You…might wanna check what he’s holding.”, he added

“Yeah…” my voice trails off after looking at all the wounded people across the concrete. Was it the best idea to start walking now? I sighed as I felt overwhelmed; not knowing what to do. A sharp pain entered my leg every few seconds; and I thought maybe it would be best to now stop our wounds from becoming infected.

“What’s your name?” I go up to the guy that spoke back to me. It would be best to get to know some people, right?

“Good morning, Misty Meadows likes to warmly welcome you and thank you for choosing to use our services to improve your life”

I’m sure it does welcome us. Kendall thought. They were only here temporarily, trying to get a break from the drama in real life. Peace did sound like a very nice option.

Kendall looked around. The shuttle bus looked rugged but nice as the heel of their shoe making contact with the steps. They looked directly at their husband and daughter, Lucy. Kendall loved Lucy to bits, but was always focused on her. They had lost themselves in the process, the the Misty Meadows was a place they heard of to find yourself again.

As Kendall sat softly on their leather seat, then the bus began. Every minute, the road seemed to be shrinking and the bus appeared to be twisting farther and farther. Each violent turn made Kendall even more short-breathed until the edge of the road was no longer visible. Kendall knew they were in for a stomach-aching ride, so they pulled out a pack of trail mix from their pocket and began nibbling on it.

The last thing Kendall remembered was the steady, soft rhythm of the shuttle bus, then a massive jerk that lifted them of the seat. Then everything went black.

They were awaken all of a sudden. A moment of confusion lingered around the air before Kendall was hit with a sharp, deep jab of pain on their right forearm. They were laid on the ground, arm facing up, and as they turned to inspect it, another jab of pain hit them, even harder than the first one. Where were they? They opened their eyes a little more to see everyone around them. Kendall recognized some of the bus-goers around them, and the driver as well. The thick, white fog masked the already limited view. They had full confidence in themselves, however, that they could somehow get up. They put their hands down, then slowly lifted themselves up. Their right forearm was visually damaged and bruised, and it hurt to even move. Their left forearm was sore as well, but still useable. They took a few deep breaths to center themselves before they shuddered in pain. Kendall had no clue what had just happened. Maybe talking to some of the awake survivors would clear the situation and their mind.

The train ride lasted way longer than expected, though long trips weren’t out of the ordinary for Ji-Yeon. She walked out of the train station, making sure to wait for Min-Joon to catch up to her. “Hold these for me.” she handed him her bags. “It’s about time you do something productive in your life.” she added, heading straight towards the bus awaiting them. There was no time to waste, as she swiftly made it to her seat, saving the other one for her twin. The seating order didn’t matter, surely the others can compromise.

The bus driver seemed very unprofessional, not someone Ji-Yeon would assume works at a famous spa resort. And his smoking indoors further raised her intolerance towards him. Thank you for using our services? This was a complete mistake, but she had no other choice.

After a while, Ji-Yeon had completely lost consciousness. She couldn’t recall anything before that, she could only notice people lying unconscious, panicking, or just talking like nothing had happened. Her head was spinning, as she raised a hand to feel her forehead, noticing a small wound. Just then, a realisation hit her; the driver had crashed the bus, leaving everybody injured. Of course, someone like him couldn’t even drive a simple bus. What were the resort owners thinking?

Her first instinct was to check on her brother, Min-Joon, who was luckily sitting right next to her. He still had a pulse, and it seemed he only had a minor arm injury. Ensuring he’s safe, Ji-Yeon got up from her seat, looking around to assess the situation. She made her way to the bus driver, noticing the picture in his hand, along with the tattoo. Has he seriously been driving while looking at a photo? Standing at the front of the bus, she then turned to face everyone.

“Listen up! As you may have noticed, there has been an accident, and I’m afraid the bus driver has passed away! I suggest you all calm down, so we can better work together to get out of this situation!” she addressed the passengers, as loudly, yet calmly as she could.

“Well my name is Frederick, and this girl here is Leslie” I pointed ot her as if she needs to be pointed to considering she’s the only girl in this group. “About this guy, I wouldn’t know.”

GUY

I said “Sup’ I’m Marcus.” I looked at her as I said "And you know what … The idea Freddie here had wasn’t at all bad. I mean I can just take my … "I don’t finish explaining as I’m too busy actually doingthe thing I was about to explain. I take my earing (he has earings on the FC so I thought it would be okay) and with needle part of it I rip my sock open so it’s bigger and I wrap it around my wounded leg, barely.
“Let’s go shall we?” I ask the girl as I put my earing back into my ear.

“Nice to meet you all! I’m Daphne.” I say, but I’m too busy noticing what Marcus did with his earring.

MARCUS

I nodded. “Okay so first … you need a fire and a piece of long metal or something that will get very hot and not melt, so no plastic. Then you just put the heated metal on your wound and let it scorch. And then you just let it be.”

“Hmm.” I quickly flicked my head around in sight of any wood. I found a few loose pieces from the damage, and piled them up. As I was making the fire, I remembered all that my Grandma used to teach me. I smiled as I worked, because I thought of past memories; ah, how I miss them. And her.

I got some jewellery off of myself and left them in the fire for a while. Sadly, I had to use my own fingers to take them back out. I quickly grabbed them off the corner of the fire, then placed them on my wound. I grunted painfully as the heated metal touched my skin, but in no time, I was better.

“Oh Marcus you’re the best!” I tilted my leg as I looked at my now ‘healed’ leg. Well, it had stopped bleeding and was now a dark scarlet instead of a rich red.

“Are you good too?” I ask him.

ORP: The metal has to be big, usually in movies an iron or a heated knive is used.
This is a gruesome scene where the iron is heated on a stove and pressured on the skin to treat bullet wounds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlsuPBfA0QM&ab_channel=Struckworld in one of my favorite movies

MARCUS

I laugh as I notice she put tiny pieces of jewellery in the fire. I instantly reached into the fire and grabbed it before it got stained and nodded my head no. “Oh, honey. I meant a big piece of metal. This will take forever and hurt like hell. And it won’t do a good job. It has to be a piece of metal at least as big as the wound.” I took a shatered piece of the bus which seemed to be a metal that doesn’t melt easily. I placed the metal on the fire so that half of it would be directly in the fire while the rest of it was on the cool ground. “How did you even get the fire going so fast? And in such a cold place?”

@anon48598989

ORP: Oh- :joy: alright let’s interpret the fact that her leg is scarlet means that it isn’t properly healed yet or something.

image

“Ohh.” I laughed and blushed with embarrassment. I watched carefully as Marcus got a bigger piece of metal and heated it up.

“Well, me and my Grandma did stuff like this all the time. She was a really outdoorsy type, so we went camping almost every weekend.” I looked into the orange flames, “but… she’s not here anymore sadly.” My face dropped.

“Yes I’ll be fine, you don’t have to be so worried about me. It’s just a spa, in the middle of nowhere… surrounded by fog… with only a driver who knows the way to the spa- Okay, I swear this isn’t as bad as it sounds like. Well, at least there’s still the driver. Don’t worry, I’ll be back after this trip. After all, what’s the worst that could happen? Alright I gotta go now, I see the bus. Bye I’ll miss you.” That was the last conversation she had with her brother through the phone.

Eva scanned the faces of those around her. It wasn’t much of a surprise to find that none of those faces were familiar. She let out a sigh of relief. Eva gave the guy (Charles) a tight smile as he greeted them and as everyone picked their seats, she chose a seat in the far back near the window. The view outside the windows were soon covered in fog too thick to see anything.

Everything happened a little too quick after a turn the driver made and the next thing she knew, she blacked out.

Eva groaned as she regained her consciousness. There were noises around her. People moving… talking… What was happening…? Where was she? Her arm was hurting and looking down at it, she found that it was cut. It must’ve been the windows.

A loud yet calm voice caught Eva’s attention.
“Listen up! As you may have noticed, there has been an accident, and I’m afraid the bus driver has passed away! I suggest you all calm down, so we can better work together to get out of this situation!”
Eva looked around to find that the driver had sadly passed away. What were they gonna do? They’re all lost now without a driver. “What’s the worst that could happen?” Seriously? She shouldn’t have said that.

“I know what that’s like. To lose somebody. There was this jailbird I like a few years back. He was my friend and whenever I was transfered and I would see him in another prison, I knew it would be fun. He had amazing stories, which I always seem to forget hoping I’d hear them again … But one day he got into a fight and the b@stard pulled out a knive on him. Watch that pr^ck maul him to death. Two stabwounds to the chest, one to his dominant arm and five to the torso, I couldn’t do anything considering I was in my jail cell at the time overlooking it all. If I could’ve reach that guy before the cops did, I wouldn’ve strangled him myself, but they just put him on a chair and fried him.” When the piece of metal looked like it was about to turn red I took off my shirt and wrapped it around the bottom of the metal on the ground, which was significantly cooler, but still too hot to be handled. “Now I’ve never done this, so I don’t know if it actually works, but I do know it’s gonna hurt like hell, so be prepared for it.” I said as I placed the scorching metal on her leg, lightly, so it doesn’t leave unneccesary burn marks.
