There were no ifs with the man. Not to mention all the worryā¦ the fear that it wouldnāt work out because of their past didnāt exist with him as it did with Jessā past lovers. Though the question of love. That was a tricky one. Jess loved being with him. She found comfort in his side. But did she ever truly love him? The intoxicating āI donāt want to be without youā love? The love that consumes you. That gives you passion, adventure, danger?
Noā¦ but she was happy with him. Though she couldnāt be sure of much, she did know that. Perhaps thatās why when he proposed to her after 3 months of datingā¦ Jess said yes. Because in the end, he did make her happy and a part of her could see herself being with him for the rest of her life, despite not feeling that rush. Because guess what? That ārushā that loveā¦ it didnāt exist in the long term. Hell, it didnāt last. That much was clear with Dorian and Kai that the type of love shown in the books and movies wasnāt meant to be. It was fleeting but thisā¦ what she had with Trevorā¦ this was what a real relationship was like.
But then whyā¦ why did Jess always feel like there should be more? Was it because she had that in the past and lost it? That love that just makes you want to wrap yourself in their warmth and never leave? It was easy to say that one could be content with loveā¦ but thatās not always how it worked.
