They really did. For Jez, she was lucky to have much of anything at home for her birthday and Christmas combined. A tree and some lights in her living room, and a tree she’d put up in her room was about it. Add in a few presents and that was about it… Her grandparents were always too busy, and her mom was too uninvolved even if she was there…

Jez probably would’ve gone over to Dan’s a lot.

They at least had the advantage of her grandparents being busy with work and her mom not wanting to be around for the holidays (or Jez’s birthday really either…)
