The difference between the alt timeline and the real timeline is because he had more time to get to a better place mentally before Skye died in the real timeline. Like in the real timeline, he had years between losing the child that he would have had with the princess, and losing Skye. In this alt there was just so much that broke him in a shorter period of time (not even a full year) and he couldn’t recover. His mental state in this alt was only barely getting better while Skye was pregnant. Just to have it all fall apart on him again as soon as he was starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
And I mean, even in the real timeline Kai’s still struggling. This alt just made his lowest point, even lower..

Yeah he does. Maybe not more than a day or so worth, and only 1, maybe 2 bottles.
Like, really he brought nearly nothing with him, maybe 2 days worth of baby supplies, and a single change of clothes for him. He went into this not prepared or with any plan in mind at all.

Kai in a normal state, even doing something reckless on a whim, would still be more prepared, or at least have a backup plan in mind…
