we have a 24 yo man and he’s an avid long distance runner who comes to use for “exercise eval” so like, we gonna make him run on a lil treadmil and see what’s up
he’s a lil worried about his health
his gradpa had a heartattack at 40 and had to go through a bypass surgery
so rn
his bp 122/70 (he’s normal)
Pulse is 49/min (low - normal is 60-100 beats per min)
This is what we know
also his right ventricular cavity is also a lil increased
so what do we think is going on

he has an athlete’s heart like @kristi
meaning there’s some adaptations that are normal - such as his Left heart being a lil bigger

Okay now
we gots a 25 yo old pregnant woman who had a stillbirth at 18 weeks. Her only symptoms during her pregnancy was PAIN IN BOTH KNEES AND FEET. this lasted like a week and went away and the woman was like “nah it’s just my weight gain, nothing to worry about” (oop she was wrong). Now we’re looking at the fetal autopsy and we see pleural effusion, pulmonary hypoplasia, and ascities
what’s up?
wellll she caught parvovirus which is a single stranded dna virus that has an ICNREASED incidence in children and teachers because it usually spreads in school infections (@Madilfill miss nelson be careful)
What tells us it’s parvovirus? She had pain in her knees and her baby had hydrops.
