Like my previous BBO, this will likely also feature an unknown number of parts, each to be posted at an undetermined date as I think of more to add to this same subject.
Anywayyyyyyy this oneās a fun one that Iāve been working on for a while.
BR Characters as Characters/Character Pairings from Books
Note: This includes BR characters, BR2 characters, and characters only from the misc/questions threads (such as character relatives).
Note pt2: Please be aware, light spoilers may be found if you havenāt read the books/series referenced in this BBO.
First up, these first matchups are all in reference to characters to the Bridgerton series
First, we haveā¦
Dan & Val (@benitz786 & @CerealKiller)
These two are without a doubt, Kate and Anthony.
That clear hatred of each other to start that eventually became pure chemistry, how could that not be Dan and Val? The vibes are strong here.
Next upā¦
Xander & Jasmine (@benitz786 & Me)
These two are Penelope & Colin.
Friends, to eventually more Her being completely in love with him without him knowing they might be anything more than just friends. All until he finally realizes that sheās the one he wants after sheās been there the whole time. It doesnāt get much more Penelope and Colin than that.
Finally, just a single character instead of a coupleā¦
Logan
She actually gives me a little bit of Sophie Beckett just without a Benedict Bridgerton to match her.
Coming from a complicated, but rich, family background, then finding herself as a simple, poor girl barely with enough to get by, working hard for everything. It just seems like her to me.
Now onto our second series of booksā¦
A Court Of Thorns And Roses
First of all, we have our favorite trio, the Montoya bros. Even if their family situation is more complicated than that, theyāre still an iconic trioā¦
Raphael, Enrique, and Diego (@CerealKiller, @benitz786, & Me)
These three have to have an iconic trio to match, so of course theyāre Cassian, Rhysand, & Azriel, in that order.
Theyāre of course the bat boys, and despite not being actually brothers they act as such, having grown up together. Sort of like the Montoyas, who grew up as brothers, despite finding out later on that their family history isnāt what they thought.
Itās clear that Ricky is essentially the leader of their trio. And letās be honest, he has more main character energy than his bros. Heās just more of someone who can be more of a leader, who isnāt afraid to get his hands dirty and step into a more āevilā persona if thatās what the situation calls for.
Raph, ah heās the outgoing Cassian of the group without a doubt, and certainly can fill the role of wingman/loyal friend who can fight for those he cares about. Even if he might get himself into trouble. And certainly not one to have trouble with girls, unlikeā¦
Diego, heās Azriel. The one with the least luck in the love department. But also the most reserved of the three. Certainly not the one to lead, having a little bit of that confidence struggle at times, but heās always listening, and always taking the time to think things through before acting.
Now alongside Raphael we also have Laurel (@CerealKiller & Me)
And together, they are quite the pair as Cassian & Nesta
Like Raph being Cassian, Laurel is soooo Nesta. Like she needs herself a Gwyn and Emerie as friends to help her improve herself, and that she can look to for support and everything. Like Nesta, Laurel keeps her walls up to protect her heart, whether she should are not, and nether has had the best coping skills.
Then Laurel and Raph are clearly drawn to each other, physical chemistry undeniable, yet trying to resist deeper feelings, particularly on Laurelās part.
And alongside Diego thereās Phoebe (@astxrism & Me)
Together, they remind me of Azriel and Mor
Like how Azriel has long held feelings for Mor, Diego has had feelings for Phoebe for a long time. However, sheās done a bit of leading him on, and showing more interest in Raph/Cassianā¦
Then next up is another solo characterā¦
Sophie
Now sophie, she definitely gives me Elain vibes.
Sweet, gentle, and someone others view as needing protection. Thatās the same for both of them. Both suffering from the trauma theyāre forced to endure.
Now although the others picked have all been BR2 era characters, this final pair isnāt.
Leo & Addie
With a hint of Harry included
Those two are certainly a power couple when theyāre together, just like Rhysand and Feyre.
These two make each other stronger. Theyāre their best selves when theyāre together. Then that makes Harry sort of take the role of Tamlin in the way he treats Addie through the early years of their marriage especially. Controlling, and willing to put her down and not supporting her even when sheās truly falling apart.
The next series for comparisons isā¦ The Selection
First up, we have one of my favorite pairs
Jez & Jordan (Me & @benitz786)
With special mention of both Mikel & Sadie (@Madilfill & @novella)
Jordan, well heās of course Jezās Prince Charming, as the Maxon to her America
Jordan, may not come from a privileged background like Maxon, but both had had to deal with their own share of hardships and pain brought by their relationships with their fathers. Then both each started with a friendship with Jez/America, and are both truly among the best people. However, there are some rocky points in each relationship, with America having at one point been torn between Maxon and Aspen, like Jez was in a complicated situation involving Mikel. Then, although Maxon and America were able to fix their misunderstandings right away, he nearly chose to be with one of the other girls, Kriss. Which compares to how after the misunderstandings between Jez and Jordan, led him to be with Sadie until he eventually got back with Jez.
This of course makes Mikel, Aspen and Sadie as Kriss
Next, we haveā¦
Leo & Miranda
In this case, they arenāt the stars, but theyāre important for the story of the next generation. They definitely give off King Clarkson & Queen Amberly vibes.
Like Amberly, Miranda is a kind person and caring mother, and despite coming from a poor background, managed to fit well into her husbandās world at the uppermost level of society. However both of them are very submissive when it comes to their husbands, but are also in many ways the one who sees his best side and a calming influence. Meanwhile, Leo is in many ways like Clarkson, just not as harsh of a father. (Which heās more like Maxon with his father as clarkson in that regard, having suffered from abuse, and his fatherās lack of loyalty to his wife) Which Leo was not necessarily entirely loyal to Miranda either, having still been pulled to Addie when their paths crossed.
For the fourth series we haveā¦ The Hunger Games
First of course, we have the relationship built on the most problems, that fell apart in the worst wayā¦
Richard & Jackie (Me & @benitz786)
These two are very much Coriolanus Snow and Lucy Gray Baird
Honestly theyāre probably the most self explanatory, and the way she forever haunts him is 100% Lucy Gray.
On a more positive note, our second pairing for this series is a sweet sibling pairā¦
Sophie & Dante
The sweet, innocent Sophie, with her adoptive older brother who she adored and felt safe with, could only be one iconic pair, Katniss and Prim
Luckily Sophie doesnāt suffer the same grim end as Prim, but the way Dante had been willing to protect Sophie was the same. Heād give up his life, to keep her safe.
Our final series of the BBO isā¦ Shatter Me
First up, once again we have of our couples with arguably some of the most main character energy, fate always pulling them togetherā¦
Leo & Addie (Me & @benitz786)
Perhaps even more so than my earlier chosen book couple for them, these two are in many ways Warner & Juliette
Like seriously, Leo is Warner. When I read the books everything I read about Warner made me think about Leo. Then thereās the way fate seems to pull Warner and Juliette together, just like Leo and Addie. Crossing paths numerous times throughout their lives, and falling so uncontrollably in love with each other so quickly once they are in each others lives consistently.
Continuing with that pick for Leo this is an even more accurate pairing, for him, and his father, Richard
There is no doubt in my mind, even when I was first reading the book itself, that they are Warner & Anderson
The way Anderson treats Warner, controlling him, manipulating, actively willing to harm him, is unfortunately just like Leoās relationship with his very abusive fatherā¦
Last but not least is a quick special mention!
Although itās not technically a specific book/series, theyāre literary characters so I have to include this comparison.
Leo, Addie, & Harry (Me & @benitz786)
These three are the legendary King Arthur, Guinevere, & Lancelot
in this scenario, Leo certainly sees himself as King Arthur, and Addie as his love, Guinevere. Which makes Harry, Lancelot. His best friend, his most trusted companion, who managed to steal away Guinevere from him.
However, itās not the way Leo would think. Especially in some of the alt worlds. Harry is actually more of the King Arthur of this scenario. Making Addie, Lancelot, and Leo, Guinevere.
