Lady Cordelia Remondin
βMe? Startle you by simply standing in front of you and asking about your status, give me a break,β Cordelia scoffed, dropping her arms down by her sides, her jacket falling back to cover more of her revealing stomach. Not that she particularly cared about showing off her body, she had nothing to hide and thought she looked alright, especially for someone whoβd been recently locked away. βUh, so you are a fellow Cynarian, it is interesting that the first person I lay eyes on is someone from the Kingdom I am from.β The man in front of her, Marshallβs boy, had complimented her, which was not something that she was used to. βIs it?β, she asked. βIt is only a name, something that you address the person with the particular personality that you wish to talk to. As for my title, does it really matter? It is only what I have gain from my father, or parents in some peopleβs cases. Itβs our familyβs rank in society, not ours, as is our money. Do I have my own money?β She gestured to herself as if asking. βNo, it belongs to my parents. As I assume is the same for you. Yet, we both stand here at the same school, ready to receive the same education. So tell me, Marshalls, why does knowing my title matter?β Perhaps it came out a little harsher than sheβd wanted, though this may help give her to her point.

Squire Ranbir Mahaja
The girl that heβd just walked into was beautiful. After greeting her with his repeatedly rehearsed line, Ranbir mutter a Ujamaan curse under his breath for getting forgetting a word. He was upset at himself for getting it wrong. How could he do such a thing? However, he was able to push it to the side of his mind just long enough to take in the girlβs appearance. He liked the way her blonde locks fell on either side, framing her round face, which was dotted with tiny dots. He knew them as freckles in his language but had no idea of the English word. The way she held herself, Ranbir knew she was important. Much more than he was. That wasnβt hard, everyone was more important than him. This was going to be a long year for him, as he attempted he become a knight while surrounded by all of these people much smarter and nobler than he could ever be.
βSorry,β the girl told him while gently putting her hand on his arm. Was this actually a way of greeting someone outside of Ujamaa, maybe? To say sorry and then touch them. If so, he had to remember this for next time. βIβm sorry, I donβt really understand that.β She smiled politely and he guessed that must have been a greeting. βItβs nice to meet you Ranbir Mahaja, Iβm Anastasia Carmichael,β she answered with a slight nod, slowly pronouncing his name.
Ranbir nodded. βRanbir. Yes. Thatβs me.β He slowly repeated her name when he assumed that sheβd told it back to him, βAn-na-star-she-aβ¦ nice name. Sorry. It is nice to meet you.β He then followed in her footsteps and also touched her arm to greet her, the took a step back rather proud with his English, dumping his bag on the floor next to him.
βIβm certainly excited to be here. How are you?β She added with a soft smile. βWhere are you from?β
Ranbir was confused and furrowed his brows, feeling rather frustrated by his lack of understanding. βCertainly excitedβ, what did that mean. Though there were three things that he knew for sure. One, she looked happy, which meant that her answer was probably a positive one. Two, her question, βhow are youβ. Three, the words βwhereβ and βfromβ, guessing that she was asked of his kingdom. So he knew how to reply. βGood. I am good like youβ¦β He lifted his hand in front of his smile, using his index finger to trace it in the air in front, try to show he he was happy. βI from kingdom is Ujamaa. You from?β
