Caine DeMarco

Caine was proud at the fact that he was annoying Demitrius, or, so it seemed. With a wide grin, he declined. “And what makes you think I am going to travel that far… Especially when it’s out of my way?”

Caine grew a little annoyed by the fact that he had to travel quite a bit before actually gifting the letter. Caine remembered the promise he made, to never be walked over, or be anyone’s servant. So with that, he shook his head again.

“Why aren’t you capable of delivering the letter yourself?” Caine asked calmly. He fiddled with his fingers, and also glimpsed down at the money a few times, hesitant to refuse the deal. He was visibly torn on what to do. It went against his morals, but Caine has a passion for money.

“…Oh, and… Please give me a good reason as to why I should be your messenger.” He stated, hoping he’d get an answer that would be able to convince him.

Harper Merriweather

Harper glared back at Lucinda. “Well then, I assume you aren’t joining me.” With a roll of her eyes, she proceeded through the door and slammed it shut. She continued down a hallway, admiring the views and the beautifully decorated academy.

“Perhaps this place has some sort of library… or even maybe a study.” Harper muttered to herself. She strolled throughout the academy, searching for a library until she finally came across one. She reached for the door handle and head inside. When she walked inside, she was shocked at how the decor of the room fit her taste. With a warm, yet rare smile, she peered at each and every shelf.

Maybe I can find some history about this place… She thought to herself as she continued searching. She ripped books off of their shelves, determined to find information about the academy’s past, and why it was since updated/renovated due to The Great War. She let out a frustrating sigh due to her having no luck after looking at a few aisles. She smoothed out the covers of the books and stuffed them back into their appropriate shelves.

“…Come on…” She muttered, in a worse mood than she was originally in. “There’s always gotta be some secrets about an old place.” She continued searching the library, refusing to give up. Maybe I’m just overthinking things… I do tend to let things get the best of me… She thought solemnly.

“well then, Viscountess it is” Nicolas smiled. He would be honest, other than his few friends or his brother this girl, this noble from a small kingdom like his own was the only person so far that he’d met who put up with his sill little antics. Running around, weird nicknames and all of that.
He ran a fingers through his hair, smirking in her direction, “if you want you can call me Prince, or your love. Either works,” he smiled and winked in her direction.
“oh come on! Mountains are great, not to mention all the gems inside of them. Diamonds, rubies, sapphires. You’ve got to admit, those are all gorgeous.” He smiled, “Fine, if mountains don’t cut it, what does Stormholt have thats so great?” he asked, a little competitive comparison never hurt anyone.

“Writing? You’re a writer? Or do you mean like political government and formal type writing?” he asked, cringing at the last option, leaning in to whisper, “because I’ll be honest, that type is kind of, sorta, a little bit…a lot bit boring”

Elise winced, taking a step away from Columbus, not over scared, but still paranoid since he seemed to be a mix of stressed and angry. She clasped her hands tightly in front of her, closing her eyes as she heard him shout his end of the argument back.
It’s not the Earl. It’s okay, Elise, it isn’t the Earl. He’s not going to hurt you. No one here will hurt you,” she found herself whispering lightly before taking a deep breath and closing her eyes.

“You know…” She mumbled, “if we do talk to one of the royals, and they can help charge him and get me a divorce, I may come to Stormholt. My only worry is the alliance with Deagerimn.” She explained quietly, still opting to lean away from him out of precaution as he lead her back into the main lobby. She subtly looked around, “You don’t see if the Prince of Princess are free, do you?”

She let out a little giggle. Wait, what was she doing? Ali doesn’t giggle. Even though Nick was charming, a small part of her couldn’t help but wonder if he wanted to call her Viscountess because he didn’t want to take the time to remember her name. The smile dissapeared from her face and was replaced with a sad look in her eyes.
"If you want you can call me Prince, or your love. Either works.”
She stopped and looked at him. No one had ever talked to her like that. “Prince it is then.” She said, keeping her eyes on him. Big mistake. She immediately got nervous so she just looked at the ground. Shifting her weight from foot to foot. Not sure if she just keep walking.
“I don’t know. I never liked fancy things.” Ali was always scared that she’d break them. Mainly because of an incident with her and her birth parents. One day, Ali was playing with her mother’s hand mirror. It was laced with diamonds, emeralds and sapphires. Even though they were probably fake, it was important to her mother. Ali accidentally dropped it and it exploded on the floor. Long story short, Ali didn’t get food for a week and had a particularly nasty cut for the next few days. You can still see the faded scar on her left cheek. “Stormholt has…” she had to think for a minute. Stormhokt really just had mountains. “There’s a river,” she said quite weakly. It was fun to watch couples in their little boats. It made for good poems.
“No. Well it depends on what you mean by formal writing. But I don’t write things for the government. I write… poems.” She said it so quietly that Ali could barely hear herself. Realizing that he probably couldn’t her her she said, a bit louder, “I write poems. And some songs on the piano.” Ali raised her head to look at him. She had never really been good at composing things. But she was good at writing. And that’s something that she shouldn’t be embarrassed about.

Columbus took a step back. He hadn’t meant to scare her. Maybe he should stay a good few feet away from her for now. Taking a deep breath, he walks around her to look out. The guard seemed to be distracted.

“Yeah, I was thinking that as well. There are some places that stayed out of the war. Maybe we could go there.” He immediately regretted his words. He hadn’t meant to say ‘we’. It was completely her choice if she wanted to join him or not. Saying we made it sound like she didn’t have a choice. He grimaced, but didn’t say anything else. “It looks like the Prince is talking to a girl. As for the princess.” He looks around, trying to find her. Finally seeing her he says, “same goes for the princess. Do you want to go first?”

“Me? Startle you by simply standing in front of you and asking about your status, give me a break,” Cordelia scoffed, dropping her arms down by her sides, her jacket falling back to cover more of her revealing stomach. Not that she particularly cared about showing off her body, she had nothing to hide and thought she looked alright, especially for someone who’d been recently locked away. “Uh, so you are a fellow Cynarian, it is interesting that the first person I lay eyes on is someone from the Kingdom I am from.” The man in front of her, Marshall’s boy, had complimented her, which was not something that she was used to. “Is it?”, she asked. “It is only a name, something that you address the person with the particular personality that you wish to talk to. As for my title, does it really matter? It is only what I have gain from my father, or parents in some people’s cases. It’s our family’s rank in society, not ours, as is our money. Do I have my own money?” She gestured to herself as if asking. “No, it belongs to my parents. As I assume is the same for you. Yet, we both stand here at the same school, ready to receive the same education. So tell me, Marshalls, why does knowing my title matter?” Perhaps it came out a little harsher than she’d wanted, though this may help give her to her point.

Squire Ranbir Mahaja

The girl that he’d just walked into was beautiful. After greeting her with his repeatedly rehearsed line, Ranbir mutter a Ujamaan curse under his breath for getting forgetting a word. He was upset at himself for getting it wrong. How could he do such a thing? However, he was able to push it to the side of his mind just long enough to take in the girl’s appearance. He liked the way her blonde locks fell on either side, framing her round face, which was dotted with tiny dots. He knew them as freckles in his language but had no idea of the English word. The way she held herself, Ranbir knew she was important. Much more than he was. That wasn’t hard, everyone was more important than him. This was going to be a long year for him, as he attempted he become a knight while surrounded by all of these people much smarter and nobler than he could ever be.

“Sorry,” the girl told him while gently putting her hand on his arm. Was this actually a way of greeting someone outside of Ujamaa, maybe? To say sorry and then touch them. If so, he had to remember this for next time. “I’m sorry, I don’t really understand that.” She smiled politely and he guessed that must have been a greeting. “It’s nice to meet you Ranbir Mahaja, I’m Anastasia Carmichael,” she answered with a slight nod, slowly pronouncing his name.
Ranbir nodded. “Ranbir. Yes. That’s me.” He slowly repeated her name when he assumed that she’d told it back to him, “An-na-star-she-a… nice name. Sorry. It is nice to meet you.” He then followed in her footsteps and also touched her arm to greet her, the took a step back rather proud with his English, dumping his bag on the floor next to him.
“I’m certainly excited to be here. How are you?” She added with a soft smile. “Where are you from?”
Ranbir was confused and furrowed his brows, feeling rather frustrated by his lack of understanding. ‘Certainly excited’, what did that mean. Though there were three things that he knew for sure. One, she looked happy, which meant that her answer was probably a positive one. Two, her question, ‘how are you’. Three, the words ‘where’ and ‘from’, guessing that she was asked of his kingdom. So he knew how to reply. “Good. I am good like you…” He lifted his hand in front of his smile, using his index finger to trace it in the air in front, try to show he he was happy. “I from kingdom is Ujamaa. You from?”

He smiled as he watched her laugh, he had to admit it, thouhg with most women he flirted and fooled, this young Viscountess was actually quite cute, innocent seeming even. It worried him that he would do something wrong and end up hurting her in some horrible way by accident.
“You don’t? That’s…different, I wonder why” he said, digging in his pocket and pulling out a small emerald. Nicolas always carried gems, for people who made impressions on him, for flaunting wealth, for a little piece of hime.
“Here,” he said, taking her hand and lightly placing the gem in it, “That’s for you,” he winked before continuing on like her had done nothing out of the ordinary. Nodding alone as he listened about Stormholt and it’s little river. Not that he was very fond of the water, lake, rivers, oceans, none of it.

He rose an intrigued eyebrow, “Thats cool. I’ve never met someone who wrote things. Of course I’ve read poems and heard songs but never met the person who wrote them. Would you be okay showing me one or two?” he asked

She trailed behind Columbus as he scouted out and around. He had stepped away from her also. Which worried her, as she wasn’t sure if it was because she had seemed afraid of him, or if she had done something wrong to where be prefered to be farther from her. She could only hope it was the first option. But even that posed problems.

“Me go and ask them? I What would I say? They’re busy with people, I have no right as a mere Countess to intrude.” she rapidly spoke. “Not to mention I haven’t the slightest clue or idea o what to day, how to address them, when the right time is to bring up our…my concerns”

I was staggered by her strong will to carry on her parents occupation. I thought for a second she would be the kind of girl who only care about looking beautiful or being on top, and have nothing more to accomplish in life than looking good to the public. Yet this girl she was so determined she even wanted to run her family business. Now I definitely get the phrase don’t judge a book by it’s cover. You can know a person by there action and what they say, and I think it’s obviously to see if this girl put her mind to it she could accomplish great things.
“Miss Winchester, I must admit you surprised me today. You impact me deeply in a way I didn’t know you could. Your not just beautiful your also smart. I’ve never meet a person like you before. I’m sure if you work hard enough your parents will most definitely choose you to run their business.”
I smiled at her. Surely if she can try hard enough to run her family business than I can try hard enough to speak in public and maybe I might be able to do what I’ve always wanted to do.

Lord Harlan Godebert

Harlan was stunned for a moment, not saying or moving a muscle. Only staring at the trunk of the tree he had just hit. His head was throbbing from the blow, as was his nose. Carefully he lifted his hand up and placed his fingers around the bridge of his nose, giving it a gentle wriggle. Luckily, it wasn’t broken. However, he did suddenly feel a trickle of warm liquid escape his nostrals. With the side of his index finger, he touched the liquid and pulled it away to look at it. Great, blood, he thought. I have a bleeding nose. He begin to tilt his back as he attempted to stand with the support of the tree trunk while reaching into his pocket for his handkerchief.
“Well that was certainly graceful,” Alistair quipped, leaning against the tree that Harlan had just crashed itnto and crossing his arms.
Harlan laughed half-heartedly, continuing to joke with him, “No, I don’t suppose it was. I will just have to give up on my dreams of becoming a ballet dancer.”
Before the man replied and before Harlan could stand, another man came over. He asked, “What are you doing?” and then began dabbing at blood under Harlan’s nose with his own handkerchief. “Did you run into this tree? How did you even manage that?”
Harlan laughed dryly and joked again, “Yeah, I was just running and just thought the tree needed a kiss. It looked lonely just standing out here.” Harlan patted the tree trunk as the second man helped him to his feet.

Ok, how do I help him? She kept thinking as she took that a moment to analyze him. She might not know much about languages and what he was saying but she could certainly tell he was from Ujamaa, you can’t miss that accent. Besides that he was a good looking guy and obviously a bit older than her. With a smile, she proudly nodded when he repeated her name, telling her it was nice. “Thank you and you don’t have to say sorry.” She tried to keep her words as simple as possible just so he could understand her better and not in the way of making fun of him or anything of that sort. It was obvious he didn’t understand much of what she was saying but she tried her best to keep her patience, it was never a problem for her.

“Are you happy to be at the Academy?” His way of showing his happiness made her giggle lightly, moving a strand of her hair over her shoulder. She was extremely happy she got the opportunity to be here, it was something she was proud of and couldn’t wait for.
Hearing he is from Ujamaa she lightly nodded as her guess was right. “I am from Cynaria.” She answered with a polite smile, letting her gaze lower down to his bag. The roomings still haven’t been given out but her bags were in the dorms lounge area so he should probably leave his bags there too. “I can help you find the lounge area so you can leave your bag there?” With an encouraging smile she looked back at him. Maybe that wasn’t the best idea considering she doesn’t know where anything is but it can’t be that hard, can it?

I was being sarcastic. Geez, you really don’t get out much do you.” He could hear his mother chiding him in his head for being so mean, and sighed heavily as they continued walking. “Yes, I actually live in Elarin. Like I said, I live further to the north of the island, so we don’t really involve ourselves much in court. How about you? Clearly you don’t live in the capital, so it must be one of the countryside regions, right? What was your last name again?”

:rose:Adam Riposte

Adam rose a brow at the petname, surprised she was trying to keep up that appearance, and Lady Mamie just scoffed.
“Not long. Well… not long for a person with more than two brain cells to work with, that is.” She replied, hopping off her stool and beckoning them to follow her down the many isles of shelves.
Following after her, Adam slyly laid his arm across Bronwyn’s shoulder, deciding that if they were still playing the part he might as well act up to it. Matching her smile, he couldn’t help being curious what the two ladies had talked about. “I didn’t think you’d have an interest in books… or were you two just talking about how lucky you were to be seen with me?” he teased, taking a random stab in the dark in the hopes to learn a little bit more about this girl he had wound up fake dating with.

:cyclone:Malo Traduro-Gavishea

The fact that they hadn’t seen her made Malo worry just the slightest bit. It wasn’t unlike his mother to isolate herself, but that bread had gone a long way in hard times for the two of them, and if she wasn’t eating… Worry started to gnaw at his mind as he began walking in the direction he assumed was towards the girls dorms. It was only gentlemanly he escourt Eulogia to her dorm, and then he only had to go in the opposite direction to reach his, so in a way it was a lot easier. Two minds were better then one, after all.
“I’m glad to hear they were okay. I know… a lot of families suffered in the attacks. Especially to the end of the war…”
“What about you? Any close friends that would be here with you?”

“Ah, uh… no. Not really.” he ran a hand through his hair, looking around at the extremely old but polished and newly renovated corridors. The building was truly exquisite. “None of the people I knew back home were… well, ‘noble’. Those that were…” his half brothers and sisters, all of whom had been cut down in battle or slaughtered without mercy as they defended a crown they had been cast down from. Shunned by their own blood, and tossed into a massacre for a father that had never cared for them. Or, at least the ones I knew… He grit his teeth, trying to not think about such things in public, as he knew it would only make him cold and angry. By this point, he wasn’t sure he even wanted to make friends, knowing that at any point he could stumble across someone who might have cut down his own blood at one point.
“You…” he started, trying to think of a question to change the topic. “You, um… you mentioned that you have friends from the city? Tell me about them. Maybe I know some of them?”
It was a long stretch, as Malo had only lived on the outskirts of the city and rarely ventured in, but there was a small chance. And besides, hearing something nice about home might help distract him from the constant horrors that were starting to cloud his head with red. His time in the army… in battle… he winced.

Lemon was stunned by Kanika’s sudden outburst. Tears welled up in her eyes and she did everything in her power to stop them from falling. No one had ever yelled at her before. Her parents didn’t even raise their voice at her when they scolded her for doing something wrong. She had been spoiled and pampered everyday of her life and this was the first time she had ever experienced something like this.

With misty eyes, she looked back at Musa.

“I-I’m sorry for upsetting her.” She said with a small sniffle. “I really didn’t mean to.”

“Actually, this is the first time I’ve left my house before.” He said with a small smile. “I’ve lived in the manor my entire life. The only people I’ve been around are my relatives and our manor’s servants.”

He was feeling quite happy that someone bothered to ask him about something that he continued to chatter on with newly found confidence.

“I’m the middle child of my family. I have six older siblings and six younger siblings. I also have 34 cousins that live in our manor as well. I go crazy just being near one of my siblings… Oscar struggled to imagine how this boy even coped being around so many at any one time.
“Thirteen children? She was so preoccupied in her mind she nearly forgot that, maybe Columbus had things he’d rather do.

“I don’t understand why you’re so worried. You told me about it.”

Elise stopped in her tracks, staring at him in hurt, disbelief and frankly disgust. She took a step to the side, away from him once again.
“Well, I don’t understand how you can’t seem to see the importance of such a small act to me. I don’t understand how you went from wanting so badly to run away, to suggesting I go to my rival country, and then just shrug as wonder what the big deal of it is.” She ranted, seeming…angry for the first time in a long time.

"Even though I didn’t know you I told you because I was desperate for someone to help me. And you did. Yet…: She huffed, shaking her head and looking around, “Just…lets find the dorms and be done with today. Does that work for you?” She snapped.
God, Elise. What have you done. she thought the second the words left her lips, she’d never snapped at someone in years, not since the few weeks after her fathers death. And that was years ago. She felt bad for doing that, Columbus had helped her, and yet part of her felt he needed to her how passionate and how important a simple act of speaking was to her. How life changing one conversation could be.

Bronwyn Thompson

She starts following the teacher-child. Then Adam drapes his arm over her shoulder. What did he think he was doing? This was not some kind of actual relationship. Maybe Bronwyn wasn’t clear enough. Or maybe Adam was just going along with the whole thing.
“I don’t,” she says sharply, “I was just looking for something.” She was being a bit harsh to the boy. Maybe she should open up a bit. He was kind of trying to get to know her. Something that not mainly people have done in the past few years. She sighs, “There’s this… this bread of horses,” Bronwyn can’t help but roll her eyes. I can’t believe I’m telling his this. They’re called Camargue horses and they’re very rare. I’ve been looking for on for a while. I’m sort of a professional. Anyway, I thought that our little librarian could help me out. Alas, I was wrong." It wasn’t always a bad thing to open up to people. It probably wouldn’t hurt her to talk about herself

It was definitely nice of him to walk Gia over to her dorm. “Yeah, I’m glad they’re alright too.” Noticing his worried expression, she places her hand on his arm. But she quickly takes it off, realising it was a bit too familiar. “I’m sure your mom is fine,” she gives him a comforting smile.
“Well, I had three really close friends. Delilah Cybin, Julia Toegold and Kendall Surefoot. We were actually really close. If it wasn’t for them, I’d probably never get out.” They had helped her come out of her shell. Gia’s parents had always loved them. They introduced Gia to men, upon men. But she never found someone she liked. “They can be pretty embarrassing. Especially Delilah. Kendall’s more cocky if anything and Julia’s really the only sane one out of the four of us.” It hadn’t even been a day and she was already missing them.

Mirabella (Mia)

“It’s not that it’s boring, it’s just that you my dear obviously don’t spend enough time with your nose in books” She chuckled at how much the girl didn’t even know about her own kingdom. “I’m sure if you spent more time researching and reading maybe you would actually know more” She paused and took a moment to think.
“Although some people do just find their kingdoms boring. I find learning new things interesting so maybe I’m just a book worm” She chuckled trying to lighten the mood a little. She twirled her thumbs in circles hoping that what she said didn’t upset the girl’s feelings.
Hearing the girl bring the conversation back to Elarin Mia immediately brings her attention back. “Flatwell. It’s quite nice although its mostly filled with street vendors trying to make a living off of selling over expired fruit and vegetables.” She giggles at the thought of men and their sons yelling “fresh fruits and vegetables” when everyone really knew they were completely spoiled
“It’s nice if you’ve never been to Elarin before, but after that, it gets quite boring. I normally never go to the capital since there are many other nicer places in the kingdom to visit. Paya Point which is a cliff is so beautiful, it looks over the cove.” She closes her eyes and imagines the waves crashing against the edge of the land. She started to tear up at the thought of home, she already missed it so much and it hadn’t even been a day yet.
“What about you? Any favourite places in Cynaria?” She asks trying to not get too upset

Alicia Bennett

Ali slowly takes the gem back. She doesn’t really have any pockets so she clutches it in her hand. “Okay, I’ll keep it. For now. But if I lose it, you’re not aloud to get mad at me.” She starts slowly shaking her head. This doesn’t feel right. Ali’s not used to people giving her things. Especially emeralds. Maybe she could turn it into a necklace. That way she might actually use it.
“Okay, I’m sorry. I’ll try and calm down. I guess it would be scary if I had a straight up heart attack.” She lightly laughed. “Umm… hmm… let’s see.” She thinks for a moment. Debating what she wanted to tell him. “I hate wasps, I love gardening and I’m pretty good at jewelry making. And I was adopted.” She casually says the last part. Hoping he doesn’t ask too many questions.

Columbus Eisenburg

Columbus stares at Elise. Impressed by the fact that she was yelling at him. But disappointed in himself. How could he say such a stupid thing. “You’re right. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it like that. I meant that the only difference between me and the Prince is our titles. Deep down we’re both just guys.” He felt foolish for the way he had worded it. It was insensitive and rude.
He looks away from Elise. “Yeah, that works fine,” he said coldly. If she didn’t want to talk to him anymore that was fine with him. Even though he’d probably track her down to work on their plan later. But it did make him feel better that she was letting her feelings out.
