โ€œYeah, I usually go by Ali. But people really just call me whatever they want.โ€ Although she preferred Ali, her parents called her Alicia. Not to be mean, they just believe that she should be proud of her real name. Her birth parents though, they almost never called her anything even resembling her real name. The outdoors were comforting to Ali. It helped calm her down.
โ€œI donโ€™t really travel. Besides, even if I wanted to, my parents have too much going on to travel.โ€ Ali didnโ€™t have a very good memory herself. The only thing that she could never forget is her poems. She did, however, think that it was a bit pompous for him to not remember these things.
She never knew how people lived on mountains. Were they not scared that theyโ€™d fall off? โ€œHmm. I donโ€™t like heights.โ€ Ali wasnโ€™t so much a fear. She just preferred to stay away from mountains. โ€œThere are some mountains. Along with โ€˜La Kennaโ€™. Itโ€™s an awesome river. I never really paid attention to the history. All I know is that we have a strong alliance with Daegarimn.โ€ Her parents tried to teach her the history. But she either ran off or didnโ€™t pay attention.
โ€œThereโ€™s one thing I donโ€™t understand. Why exactly are you at the school.โ€ It would make sense for him to be here to learn how to rule. Yet, he runs away from his advisor. Almost as if he doesnโ€™t want to be a Prince.

Columbus Eisenburg

At least his presence seemed to be calming her down. It made him feel like he was actually helping someone. โ€œWell, maybe we could talk to someone else. Someone even more powerful than the prince.โ€ He closes his eyes. Scared to even say it. Even if she did want to help. It could restart the war. And Columbus didnโ€™t want any blood on his hands. โ€œMaybe we could talk to the Princess of Cynaria.โ€ It would make sense. To go to the only kingdom that is even more powerful than Daegarimn. Or they could go to somewhere that didnโ€™t participate in the war. But he hated the fact that she was regaining her fear. He looks her in the eyes. Trying to tell Elise that it will be fine. Everything will work out. But itโ€™s hard to keep her gaze.
He canโ€™t help but chuckle. โ€œOh, I should definitely be scared of the guard. I am not strong. Just strategic.โ€ It was hard to tell which one was more helpful at times. โ€œHmm. Well that is a problem.โ€ Thinking over her plan, โ€œYeah, that could work. I might as well grab mine so that I can unpack.โ€ He didnโ€™t have much. But he did have a lot of books. It was almost scary how heavy his stuff was.

He looked at the money that was just placed in his hands and look back up at the man. What did he just get himself in to? He promised his family not to involve himself with this suspicious activity, or to not let anyone walk all over himโ€ฆ but this seemed different. Perhaps he should deliver the letter, or maybe he shouldnโ€™tโ€ฆ

He cleared his throat and looked back up at the man. โ€œโ€ฆAnd where can I find this Alexander?โ€ Caine the dived back into his thoughts, overthinking things as usual. Was this guyโ€™s name actually Demetrius or is it just a facade?

No. Stop overthinking things, Caineโ€ฆ

โ€œwell, what name do you prefer I call you? I like to call people by what they like, i find it wrong to address them as something they wish not to be addressed as. For example, if I were to choose I usually choose a not common name. Since I havenโ€™t met another Viscountess here at the school thats probably how I would address you, however, based on you initual reaction to the title I can guess you would not appreciate the name very much.โ€ Nicolas explained in a rather chipper tone, leading her around the side of the Academy where it wasnโ€™t so crowded.

โ€œHmm. I donโ€™t like heights.โ€
โ€œIโ€™ll be honest, I didnโ€™t like them either when we first moved from mainland to the mountains. It scared me thinking the rocks would fall or something alone those lines. But over time, living so high up, i got used to it. You get to know which rock is loose and that the mountain wont collapse. After a while, you learn to get to the top, the veiws of everything are beautiful.โ€ He smiled, it was true, his parenst chose an odd place for a kingdom, but past the oddness of it, the kingdom really was full of hidden beauty.

โ€œThereโ€™s one thing I donโ€™t understand. Why exactly are you at the school.โ€
He chuckled, โ€œWell, ill give that to you, you really do say what youโ€™re thinking. But, i came to the school because of all my siblings iโ€™m second last in line and my younger brother and I are known to not be the most formal. My parents pretty much wanted to send me here to improve myself from all my fooling.โ€ he explained.
โ€œWhat about you, why are you here?โ€

Elise Ponsonbye
Elise furrowed her eyebrows, โ€œWho could possibly be more powerful than the Prince?โ€ She asked, not seconds later her eyes went wide and she stepped back, โ€œCynaria?! CYNARIA?โ€ she yelled in a whisper, โ€œDo you realize the problems that could start? Yes, it could 100% work, but weโ€™re enemies. If it would restart the war she had absoloutly no reason to help me unless she has some ridicuously strong morals in helping against my husband.โ€ she frowned, but did contemplate it.

โ€œitโ€™sโ€ฆa bad, yet perfect plan. If she helpped, or the Prince helped I could divorce the Earl, get my mom and siblings and leave, or even leave alone. I donโ€™t know what kingdom Iโ€™d go. Anywhere I would leave to I would be safe from my husband at the least, he has no power against me anywhere but Daegarimn.โ€ She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck.

Elise rubbed her face with her hands, โ€œLets justโ€ฆlets get our dorm assignments and talk about this on the way there.โ€

โ€œFascinating?โ€ Clemontine asked with a bewildered look. โ€œDo the people where your from always have guards? Back in Xusian I was never accompanied by guards.โ€

โ€œWell, what do you use your men for, then? Are men in Xusian strictly to be used for reproduction?โ€ Kanika asked, taking a notebook and pencil out of her pocket. โ€œDo tell. I love to learn new things.โ€

Musa snickered quietly at his sister. โ€œWhat are you laughing at, then?โ€ Kanika asked sternly, and Musa laughed. โ€œDonโ€™t you remember, Kani?โ€ He asked her. โ€œOn the mainland, Men are First-Class Citizens.โ€ Kanika was taken aback. โ€œBut whatever for?! What could men possibly be useful for besides breeding and heavy lifting?! Certaintly not governing!โ€ Musa snickered at her again and she gave him a shove, barely even pushing him back. The two began squabbling in Ujaaman.

โ€œIs it very dangerous where your from?โ€ Lemon asked, cutting in to their fight. Her eyes practically glowed with excitement. โ€œTell me all about it!"

โ€œOh yes, Ujaama is incredibly dangerous.โ€ Kanika said. She crouched down as if she was telling a story to a child and waved her hands dramatically. โ€œThereโ€™s snakes with venom that can kill you instantly and spiders the size of your head and ravenous, rabid lions and-โ€ โ€œItโ€™s safe.โ€ Musa cut in. โ€œVery organized. Sheโ€™s just telling her stories again.โ€ โ€œYou never let me have any fun.โ€ Kanika pouted, and Musa patted her head before helping her back to her feet.

โ€œWhat about your kingdom?โ€ Kanika asked Lemon. โ€œDo you come from a dangerous place?โ€

โ€œWhat are you doing?โ€ Sanchion sneered in disgust as he looked down at the young man in a grey blazer who was lying on the ground by a tree. The man seemed dazed and a little bit restless, and there was a large, red scuff on his forehead where little slivers of skin had beel ripped and peeled upwards. A small drop of blood trickled down the side of his face, and Sanchion sighed in exasperation and knelt down to dab it away with his handkercheif.

He looked up at the tree that the boy was lying in front of and the puzzle pieces clicked. โ€œDid you run into this tree? How did you even manage that?โ€ He asked, helping the boy up. Once the boy had gotten to his feet, Sanchion immedietly wiped his hand off on his vest, just in case.

A carriage, in the most beautiful pearl color with beautiful baby blue patterns swirled through it, came closer to the Academy. The group of elegant white horses pulling the carriage, who were controlled by the most handsome man they could find in the kingdom of Elarin, huffed as the strong rays of light beamed down at them.

The carriage arrived at the front of the Academy, along with many others as well. The driver steps down from his seat behind the horses and draws open the curtain, holding his arm out to the beautiful young lady waiting inside. The young lady stepped out gazing at the beautiful castle and the unbelieveable fantasy-like gardens she was surrounded by. The driver looks the young lady up and down to notice her beautiful fairytale like gown 6 and simple but beautiful hairstyle hairstyle 5. The girl smiled but was extremely nervous and hugged the driver not wanting to leave her carriage. โ€œNow, now Mia. You will be perfectly fine, just walk in there like you own it and youll be fine.โ€ The charming man said with joy. โ€œBut sirโ€ฆโ€ She whined. โ€œNo buts Mia! You promised your mother that you would go and make new friends and hopefully learn some new things, smartypants.โ€ He said with a little hope in his voice. โ€œFineโ€ฆโ€ She complained but kissed him on both cheeks to say goodbye. She walked over to the horses in which had pulled her to the Academy. She took a bit to say goodbye to each one individually, patting each one of them. In a daze she didnโ€™t notice the driver yelling at her. โ€œMia hurry up already!โ€ He said rushing her. โ€œJeezโ€ She mumbled under her breath. The footman who had greeted them as they pulled into the driveway grabbed her luggage, holding her things she would be wearing for however long she was staying there and carried it into the Academy. She waved goodbye and followed the man into the Academy.

โ€œA new startโ€ she said sighing

Musa sighed and stepped forward. โ€œMusa Mshindi, Queenโ€™s Protector and Prince of Ujamaa.โ€ He gave a slight bow. โ€œWomen are โ€˜treated betterโ€™ back home, if thatโ€™s the way you want to put it. Every person in Ujamaa is bestowed with the rights they deserve at birth. The more useful you are, the more you are respected. โ€œWhy do you seemed so surprised about this?โ€ Kanika asked Lemon. โ€œWomen and Men are equal on the mainland, yes?โ€ She became a bit worried. Had she come on too strong to this girl? Did sharing her countryโ€™s customs somehow offend her?

Pushing up her glasses, she regarded Bronwyn with a cold yet curious look, and continued about her business sorting several books into their places behind her desk and scribbling their names down in a large ledger that was almost twice the size of her. The fact that she was using a footstool to even reach the desk also didnโ€™t seem to dent her unwavering pride or confidence.
โ€œI own a collection considered to be amongst the oldest and most sought after in all of Altaer, and you ask me if I have a book on โ€˜horsesโ€™.โ€ She chuckled, though one could almost call it a cackle by the tone in her voice. โ€œOf course I have a book on it. I have several, actually, depending on which topic about such a creature you would be wanting to know. Biological? Theoretical? Historical? Practical?โ€
She sniffed, finishing the scribblings in her ledger and slamming the book shut. โ€œBut if what you want to know is simply, โ€˜where can I find oneโ€™, as I am to assume it isโ€ฆ then no. But I do know that they are rare on Altaer. In fact, theyโ€™re not native to this continent at all. Theyโ€™re much further to the south-east, and you would need to sail very far to even find land in that direction. Howeverโ€ฆโ€ As she thought, the little lady tapped her chin and flipped a set of very jangly keys around, causing Adam - who was busy admiring a large ebony and silver globe set - to look up curiously.
โ€œโ€ฆIf I were to look into such a breed, I would speak to someone from Rhytora. The Sinclair March, for example, or the County where the Curtis family live. Both families and their kingdom alike are known and respected for their breeding of horses. If anyone were to have such a breed, or know of their whereabouts, it would be them.โ€

They believe that they have the right to marry them off to as a second wife to some rich family without asking or taking away their rights to their lands just because theyโ€™re female.โ€

โ€œWHAT?!โ€ Musa and Kanika said in unison, both equally outraged. Musa drwed his short sword, fuming, and Kanika furiously scribbled down her thoughts in her notebook, planning to jot them all in an angry letter home. What kind of barbaric place was this? Why were all these useless scabs given such privledges, and who told them that they deserved to have them? The two siblings grinded their teeth and clenched their fists with the identical fury theyโ€™d gotten from their mother.

โ€œI think that everyoneโ€™s equal.โ€ Lemon confessed, and the two both snapped to face her. โ€œMen, women, noble, commoner, weโ€™re all the same to me. โ€œTHAT IS NOT TRUE!โ€ Kanika cried.

โ€œItโ€™s kind of true.โ€ Musa admitted quietly.

โ€œBe quiet, Musa!โ€ Kanika snapped at her brother. She then wheeled back on Lemon. โ€œMen were born as second class citizens, created as second class citizens, and the lot of them are lucky that women even allow them to be that! Before women took Ujaama, our island was soaked with blood, children were orphaned and slaughtered, entire geneaologies were irradicated with a single slash of a sword! That is what happens when you give men too much power, and that is what is begining here! Women are objects here; How long will it take before those objects are broken, or thrown away and replaced like nothing? How long before the men start another war with eachother and burn all of the kingdoms to the ground? MEN CANโ€™T BE TRUSTED WITH ANYTHING THAT MATTERS, AND NEITHER, IT SEEMS, CAN YOU!โ€ She turned back to her brother. โ€œWe are going to our rooms. Now.โ€

Musa stood there simple, barely acknowledging her.

Kanika huffed aand grabbed her luggage from him. โ€œFind me in my room when you are feeling reasonable, brother. I will write mother immediately of these barbaric customs.โ€ Then, with a huff, she stormed off.

Musa sighed, exhausted, and re-sheathed his sword. He turned appologetically to Clemontine. โ€œIโ€™mโ€ฆ Iโ€™m sorry about her. Motherโ€™s taught her all the old traditions, andโ€ฆ Well, she hasnโ€™t had the best expieriences with menโ€ฆโ€ He rubbed his neck sheepishly. โ€œPlease, My Lady, how can I make it up to you?โ€ He asked, bowing.

To be fair, she never actually told them to stop. โ€œI guessโ€ฆ Well. Viscountess works fine.โ€ She smiles up at him. On the one hand, Ali didnโ€™t believe that she deserved the title. But on the other, it made her feel special. It made her sound important. It made her feel wanted. Ali did notice that he was bringing her to a more secluded area. It made her a bit uncomfortable. But also giddy.

Ali couldnโ€™t help but laugh. She tended not to laugh at people. Usually out of fear that theyโ€™d hurt her. But Nick seemedโ€ฆ different than the other men she had met. Even though he was a bit cocky. โ€œThatโ€™s really why I stay away from mountains.โ€ Besides his comforting words, Ali still didnโ€™t like mountains. He may know how to tell which rocks are safe, but she didnโ€™t.

She canโ€™t help but blush. Ali hadnโ€™t meant to be too upfront. I donโ€™t think itโ€™s working very well. Ali would never actually say this to him. But in the past 10 minutes heโ€™s ran away from his advisor, hid in a closet with a young lady, and then ran out trying to take said young lady to her dorm. At this point, Ali couldnโ€™t really blame his parents. โ€œIโ€™m here to improve my writing. Well, and to please my parents.โ€ Though her parents didnโ€™t ask for much, they really insisted on her going to the school."

Columbus Eisenburg

โ€œYes Iโ€™m aware of all the problems that it could start.โ€ He whisper shouted back. โ€œThatโ€™s why I didnโ€™t want to suggest anything!โ€ It was an insane plan. But it could actually work. Although there were a lot of variables. It all depended on the prince. Though the princess might have some sympathy. If she approved, then Daegarimn couldnโ€™t be so stupid as to start another war. Even this Earl wouldnโ€™t have enough power to start a whole new war.

โ€œWell, maybe you could come by to Stormholt.โ€ Columbus suggested shyly. He wasnโ€™t rich enough to own much property. Hopefully heโ€™ll become a lawyer soon. Then he could support Elise better. If she wanted, Elise could stay with him until she made enough money to own land herself. Or she could stay with him until she found a man that she truly loved. โ€œOkay.โ€ He starts walking towards the lobby, too busy focusing on the plan to let her go first.

@BrookieK - Elise sorry for such the late reply. I got caught up in some stuff.

Bronwyn Thompson

Goodness, sheโ€™s tiny. Bronwyn couldnโ€™t help but notice how short this girl was. She was even questioning if this Miss Mamie was really a staff member. Well, the fact that she was even behind the desk answered her question.
โ€œIโ€™m sorry. Is it bad for me to ask questions?โ€ It wasnโ€™t Bronwynโ€™s fault that she didnโ€™t know about Miss Mamieโ€™s โ€œOldest and most sought after book collection in all of Altaer.โ€ She tried so hard to not roll her eyes. What a freaking nerd.
"Biological? Theoretical? Historical? Practical?โ€
โ€œOkay, you just threw a bunch of words that end in โ€˜ical.โ€™ Yet I have no idea what any of those mean. So could you talk a bit more like a 12 year old and not a 150 year old science teacher?โ€ It was only common courtesy to act the way that you looked. So far, Miss Mamie did not have such courtesy.
โ€œGreat. So I have to talk to more people.โ€ Hopefully they werenโ€™t all like this librarian. She has the right to know how annoying she is. Bronwyn didnโ€™t understand how her fellow staff could tolerate her. โ€œThanks, I guess.โ€ She huffed a defeated sigh. She was really hoping that this would actually get somewhere at this school.
Hearing Adamโ€™s voice, Bronwyn turns around, โ€œNothing.โ€ She says, frightened that he might find out about her obsession with Camargue horses. โ€œBabe.โ€ She adds quickly, moving closer to him. โ€œNothing to worry about.โ€ Bronwyn gives a flirtatious smile.
She turns back around to look at Miss Mamie. โ€œYes, that is what she said. Iโ€™m curious as well. How long will this little adventure take?โ€

Eulogia Woods

โ€œGood.โ€ Gia says quickly. She knew that the war had killed a lot of people. And she was worried that his mother might have been one of them. โ€œHopefully weโ€™ll Iโ€™ll see her around soon. We really miss her down at the bakery.โ€ Well, now that sheโ€™s at the school, she may not see her at all. Except for maybe Christmas. โ€œYes. Luckily my family is doing well. They mainly supplied bread and food to the women that lost their loved ones.โ€ Seeing as women really relied on men in Daegarimn, when there husbands or sons died it made things much more difficult for their families. But they did lose quite a lot of business in Cynaria. Gia guessed that was to be expected. The whole war had really just been a big misunderstanding. It wasnโ€™t really the Wolf Kingโ€™s fault. He didnโ€™t want to apologize for something he had nothing to do with. If anything, Cynaria over reacted. It was like a toddler throwing a temper tantrum, embarrassing. โ€œThe Woods try and stay out of politics.โ€ It made it really hard to own a business when people didnโ€™t agree with your political views. โ€œWhat about you? Any close friends that would be here with you?โ€
