Questions Thread- CoffeeAunt

Yes, I was born in the US and came to Mexico later.

Mexican coffee made with cinnamon sticks and piloncillo, a type of sugar. I don’t like it because it tastes burnt.

Did you have family in Mexico?
Why did you end up going to Mexico?

Do you like horchata? :eyes:

Too much cinnamon is spicy…

Yes, my dad’s side of the family is from Mexico, and I came here first to visit some family members… and ended up deciding to move here, back in 2006.

Yes, horchata’s delicious!

In students:
Enthusiasm, a respectful attitude, and being responsible.

In people in general:
Honesty, loyalty, and kindness.

I have a fear of seeing vomit or hearing/reading details that describe it… I guess it would be emetophobia, although a lot of people with emetophobia actually fear throwing up more than seeing it.

Some foods that I ate when I lived in the USA, but aren’t available here.
And going to the cat café in Mexico City.

Aside from different content, what’s different about teaching children vs teens?

Just asking because I’m trying to figure out if I want to teach children or teens.

If you couldn’t teach the grade you teach as of right now, what would you switch to?

What’s your ideal class?

Teens are more independent. When teaching younger children, you don’t only teach content… you are responsible for making sure the kids take their things home with them, you have to aid them more in doing things like lining up, taking care of their school supplies, and reinforcing simple rules like not using violence against their classmates. If you are teaching first grade, you may also need to aid them in using their scissors and glue sticks correctly.
Also, in preschool and elementary, you work more with songs and crafts… in middle school, not so much.

And since teenagers have multiple subjects, they have more teachers, so parents can’t really nag just one teacher over behavior issues and social interactions between kids like elementary parents do. However, elementary and preschool teachers get more gifts on Christmas and Teacher’s Day because parents only have two teachers (in most cases) to buy a gift more. In middle school, they’d need to buy a gift for too many teachers.

Probably high school or upper elementary. I don’t want to teach little children anymore, not because I don’t like them, but because of the way teachers are treated by administration and parents.

A peaceful, bully-free environment where kids come to school excited to see me and each other. Everyone likes my subject, and no one misbehaves because they respect everyone’s right to learn, and they are interested in learning and having fun doing so. :sunflower: :sunflower:

  • If a dishwasher identifies as an oven would you find that weird?
  • How do you stop a tennis court from abusing a fridge door?
  • What’s the most Door-handle thing to say to a microwave?

Like into crystals, chamanes, and amarres? Nahhh.

I don’t think so? But sometimes I have that deja vu feeling.

I usually sad cry the most. I hardly ever happy cry, nor ‘this song/movie is so touching’ cry.

I don’t think anyone’s ever written a song about me.

Legs? In the winter, weeks… but in the spring/summer, only one week, I think.

Usually in the afternoon or at night, but sometimes, like during weekends, I shower in the morning.

Most houses here don’t have baths, so no baths… only showers. :sunflower:

Definitely, because I’d be like… how are you an oven if you can’t cook food?
Though I feel like I saw a video where someone actually tried cooking something in a dishwasher…

Keep your fridge far away from the tennis court.

Open the door!
