I suppose you could also simply teleport him back to the shuttle while they retrieve the fragment. It gives him an opportunity to get away as well ~

maybe Ryuko can be like 'what the hell?!" then realize its about the fragment then look at Zelda and be like. “What are you hiding?” then wrap her in a fireproof blanket and arrest her then maybe ryuko gets arrested because he was ‘hiding a lakorian’ but he can say she found the place recently?
