They didnât @ anyone in the original post, but even if they did, Iâd probably blur it unless they said they didnât mind. Donât want anyone to feel called out or attacked
Soon I think?
@Ouijaloveletters maybe you could answer this for this person since itâs your RP.
Oh, im so sorry! I just havenât posted it yet. Let me do that now.
Also, youâre going to have to be patient with me. This is the first Rp that Iâve created, so Iâm new to this. I am getting help, though.
Im sure you will do fine
BRO SAME OR OR OR I FEEL LIKE MY CHARACTERS ARE JUST ALL COPIES OF EACH OTHER
You are definitelyyyy not alone in that thinking but I can almost guarantee you that they are much better than you think they are!
Definitely not alone, anonymous RPer!
Awwww, yeah.
SAME THOUGH
Like I noticed most of my characters are, like, swee tor something and even if they have their big differences I canât seem to justify that
there was actually a new one yesterday planning on posting it today but Iâm a bit busy atm
Iâm just going to remove this post, Sophia, sorry. As I know the other RP staff want to keep it open and running it.
Ooooh
Okay so I spoke with Cali and technically yes, you can make those kinds of characters, but you canât do it for like no reason. You have to show why theyâre like that and how it affects them, and the way it affects them has to be negative. Itâs similar to the way that drugs and alcohol and whatever are allowed, where it has to be mostly negative portrayal. You know, the 70% rule, where at least 70% of the portrayal has to illustrate why itâs bad.
And also, youâve gotta be careful with actually RPing that character, as if you use a racial slur or something, it can still be flagged for hate speech, even though itâs the character and not you.
I mean I donât like forming relationships beforehand because I have to actually like reach out and talk to people Iâm not already familiar with lmaoo and that can be nerve-wracking for me personally (am getting better tho yayy) but I do find it fun when there are pre-planned relationships in the RP. I donât usually plan romantic ones thoughâwell not for the most partâas I like seeing those happen in RP better. The romantic ones I usually do plan (save for g and lui oops) are more like past relationships or current ones that arenât really⌠emotional, I guess.
ME OML LMAOO
First off, Iâm so sorry it came off that way. I can tell you that nobody intended it to be like that at all, and yes, Brooke only had good intentions with the prompt as you mentioned. That being said, we recognize that it mightâve fallen short of its original goal, as it should have been mentioned that we are basing it on character not identity.
Second, I want you to know that the entries will be judged based on the strength of the character, not on being trans. On the quality of their character. The contest wasnât meant to tokenize trans people at all, and its original goal was only to give the community an opportunity to become more used to creating trans characters. It was supposed to be a way to illustrate how trans people are more than their identity.
Also, I get what you mean when you said that listing the characterâs biological sex as the characterâs gender is disrespectful, and I agree. The challenge does require both the characterâs sex and gender to be listed, but putting those two in separate sections, one sex and the other gender, is better as the two terms mean different things.
Third, would you feel comfortable talking to any of the RP staff about any further issues or discomforts you have? Having addressed this, would you be keen to enter this competition yourself?
side note: if you wanted to make a guide on how to create a developed trans character, that wouldnât be opposed
What do you mean by that? I searched up QPR 'cause Iâve never heard that term before but does it mean queer platonic relationships? But that seems cool, I could get behind that kind of relationship for sure
omg donât be scareddd weâre all very nice people promise
And you can start with this thread; youâll be assigned an rp mentor and theyâll pm you and get you used to this whole community
Maybe seems a little intimidating, but once you get into it, it starts to feel like second nature ^.^
My sincerest apologies. That was me. Which is really awkward, because I have Trans friends, and I treat them like everyone else. I just slipped up.
Donut get scared we would love to have you here!
