  • Lolllll, almost everyone thinks that all British people sound posh. :skull: NO WE FKIN DON’TTTTTTTTTTT, well some people do but not everyone. :v:t4:
  • Also, a lot of people think that all we do is just drink tea ahahaha. That’s so funny. I COULD NEVERRRRRRRRRRRR. But fr, we don’t just only drink tea lol, we don’t just be going to people’s houses like: ā€˜dO yOu wANt a cUPPA tEA?’ :joy:

Lots of people think the Netherlands is just Amsterdam and therefore just a lot of partying :grimacing:
Anyway other stereotypes are in this image:

Like the tulips and many flowers in general, wooden shoes, the windmills.
The Dutch people are also known for being very straightforward :eyes:

Okayyyy, I’m gonna do mine.

India:

  • All the people aren’t fluent in English, like what?
  • Everyone speaks ā€˜Hindu’ if that even is a language. THAT’S A RELIGION, GODDAMMIT!
  • All the foods are spicy or have spices added in them. Wow, you’ve never heard of gulab jamun or jalebi?
  • That we’re familiar with everyone! We’re the second most populated country, how the f---- can we know eVeRyOnE?!
  • We only have arranged marriages. No, we’re allowed to marry the people we actually love.
  • All Indians are vegetarians. Wow, seriously all my friends are non-vegetarians.
  • We’re all loud and have no other job than dance at weddings. Seriously? I’m an introvert.

Well I couldn’t come up with many my brain hurts

So… I googled it

Israel -

  • Israel is a war zone - well that’s technically kinda true, I mean it’s not a legit war zone but actual terrorism and the fear of war are literally always there
  • Israelis lack manners - 100 percent true. And you cannot change my mind.
  • Israelis have prickly and unfriendly personalities - also true in many of the cases
  • Israel is an unsophisticated, camel-riding desert land - I did go out with my friends to the desert and we saw a donkey once but we do not ride camels :joy:
  • Israel is a country of white Jewish people - well jokes on you I’m black.
  • Israel is a conservative, religious state - people don’t like hearing this but it’s definitely true, even though people go like ā€œoh no we have a pride parade and most of the people aren’t even religiousā€ but that doesn’t change the fact that the extreme religious people control everything and everyone, making it a religious state 100%
  • Israelis hate Arabs, and vice versa - many actually do, and vice versa. But it really depends on the family education, some people actually teach their children that Arabs are bad, Muslims are bad, etc etc… but overall it’s not necessarily true, it’s just very specific.

The USA:

Gonna list some stereotypess~

  • Most Americans are arrogant.

Admittedly there are a good amount of arrogant Americans but a ton of us are actually friendly, And the ones showcased in TV are usually openly racist, Insensitive, And nationalistic. This isn’t every American you come across.

  • Americans are stupid, And Uneducated.

Our president is, But not every American here. Despite America’s slew of issues a good amount of them are of personal reason then overall reason. A country as a whole- Our education is more developed, And many people come here to study abroad etc.

  • All Americans are rich.

Haaaa! I wish, America has a genuinely bad rep when it comes to poverty, I’m 100% sure it’s worse in other countries but ours isn’t sunshine and rainbows either. Not only that but a good amount of our poverty is systematic. Racistly Systematic, If you are of the minority be prepared to see majority in the slums of America vs the suburban dream America showcases.

  • Americans are all Obese, Overweight, And addicted to food.

This is semi-true, Only to an extent. Obesity and weight gain is a major issue in the States- Two out of three adults are considered overweight or obese- Although the US has made several efforts to battle this growing epidemic. Schools are cutting calories, improving nutritional content, and reducing portion sizes, providing healthier choices to kids.

  • Americans are overly patriotic and proud.

Unless you see an American Flag in plain sight, Like on someone’s car or anything of that sort. Trust me- A TON. And I mean a TON. Of Americans hate America. Including myself, Our country goes by ā€œThe land of the free.ā€ But it’s really ā€œThe land of the free if you are of certain education, race, and income.ā€ If not, Your just another toss away into the slums. Please don’t come here expecting royalty if you don’t have the funds- They will happily throw you into whatever struggling homeless shelter without a care in the world. America has a large race problem, Considering the BLM movement and constant media coverage of racism. Gun violence and Poverty. We. Are. Not. The. Land. Of. The. Free. You will get stuck here if you come, And not for the good reasons sadly.

Feel free to ask questions~

Mine here: Spain

  • party all day and night (cap, that’s mostly what tourists do when they come here)
  • if we’re not partying, we are doing siesta (more cap, the ones that do siesta are mostly old people, not all tho. My grandma, for one, doesn’t.)
  • we are lazy af ( more cap)
  • we are mega racist. (no, I’m not saying there isn’t racism because it’s everywhere but most people are not racist and are well educated in this term)
  • it’s always hot. (no? Haven’t you heard of Mediterranean climate? In winter there’s snow and during summer, some places reach over 40 C )
  • we always smoke weed and have s*x (let me just say this: tv shows are the least accurate thing ever)
  • i can’t remember more :eyes:

Seriously. I want to bang my head on the table everytime someone asks me if I speak Indian like for the love of God please don’t—

Other stereotypes that annoy me:

Indians can’t speak English, or is heavily accented. While that’s the case for a lot of people, its not necessarily so. English is one of our official languages, and is used more widely than any other, I believe.

Most indians are poor. We’re not.

All our food is spicy and we’re all about music and dance. While we’re known for our spicy foods, we’re also famous for our sweets so there’s that. And for music and dance, it’s certainly an important part of the culture but it’s not all we do.

Cows and stuff roam around (just because we treat cows as sacred animals doesn’t mean they’re just randomly on every road…) or that the dirty slums or something are ā€˜real India’ like no, like any other country, we have good parts and the bad parts and you shouldn’t identify anything with it’s bad qualities only.
