The coronavirus

My state (in Mexico) has weird restrictions. Like you cannot buy “non-essential” items after 3pm. That means if you go to Walmart (for example) at 4pm, you can’t buy a hairbrush lol but you can still buy food, toilet paper, deodorant (apparently this is essential and a hairbrush isn’t) etc. No alcohol sales after 3pm either. As far as I know that’s still in place.

This week things have relaxed slightly. Gyms are allowed to open with reduced capacity and everyone has to wear masks (which sucks. Wearing a mask at a grocery store is fine but at a gym?!). But at least they’re finally able to open. There’s no real government support here so a lot of businesses have crumbled where I am, especially as they rely on tourists.

WOAH! That is odd. I don’t quite understand the logic behind the times, but okay then.

Hmm… yeah, I feel there may be more people fainting from the heat of have their face covered.

countries stopped lockdown?! My country has been on lockdown since the beginning and only gyms and cinemas are open

There was not one person wearing their mask properly lol.
The funny thing is that the gym was not-so-legally open (to a small circle of people) since lockdown because the owners need to eat :woman_shrugging:. There were no mask restrictions. Now that they’re allowed to open, the same people have to wear masks

I don’t get the logic either. I believe it was to “reduce traffic into stores” but I believe it’s done the opposite thing lol- the line ups to get into Walmart on a weekend before 3 are apparently crazy

Oh yeah it’s swarming all over London.

No I’m not scared. It’s something we have to learn to live with unfortunately and it won’t go away

My country is doing nothing. Welcome to the UK :joy:

Oh yeah definitely. The media are always over dramatic

Oh wow. Really? What have your cases been like?

(facepalm)

HAHAHAHAHA. That’s kinda funny.

Well I think it was more because of how hard it is to breathe . I live in Mexico. It’s humid enough as it is. Trying to squat and stuff with a stinky sweaty mask covering my mouth and nose was… well not fun. No one was anywhere near me so I ripped mine down so I could get air

Ooh, that sucks. I also live in Mexico, but my state is on the ‘yellow traffic light’. We still have to wear masks everywhere, but most restaurants and stores are open with restrictions, which is good. In some grocery stores, the people who help bag groceries are working again. :yellow_heart: :yellow_heart:

I think my state only recently turned orange. We were red for ages.
I actually live close to a state border and while I think both states are the same colour (or at least, were), it’s funny how the rules were different lol

We’re back to almost as many new cases as in the beginning again(so around 90/100 a day), so there will probably be a lockdown soon :eyes::eyes:
According to my city’s website, there were over 10k cases in total in my city :eyes::eyes::green_heart::no_mouth:

Our city is now considered a corona-hotspot (idk if it’s called the same in English, that’s what they called it in German :eyes:) according to the news :eyes::eyes:

Eek. I hope you stay safe then.

Oh no! That sounds awful.
Is it only in your city or everywhere in your country?

It’s mostly just single cities or smaller areas. Most regions didn’t have that many new infections anymore, the people in my city are just really stupid :eyes::eyes:

Well so apparently some oil produced inside a shark’s liver make a vaccine for Covid,
And according to a shark advocacy group, the production of that vaccine could result in the be the cause of death of over half a million sharks worldwide
Tying to avoid that, there are now scientists that are trying to make a synthetic alternative made from fermented sugar cane.
