The Joker: Discussion

Okay, now. I know a lot about the Joker (Dark Knight) because my sister loves that movie to death, and I’ve watched it with her a few times. Now, I thought what better to talk about than which Joker is your favorite? And maybe which ones you liked the least. I personally think that Heath Ledger’s (Rest in peace) version was the best, but that just my opinion and I’d love to see your’s.

Joaquin Phoenix (Joker)

Jack Nicholson (Batman 1989)

Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight)

Jared Leto (Suicide Squad)

Mark Hamill/Pierre Hatet (Batman: The Animated Series)

Cesar Romero (Batman 1966)

If your favorite Joker wasn’t on the list, I’d love to know who I missed.

What I rank them
  1. Heath Ledger (Iconic)
  2. Joaquin Phoenix
  3. Mark Hamill/Pierre Hatet (My childhood right there)
  4. Jared Leto (The worst :unamused:)

(I didn’t include Cesar Romero because I haven’t seen Batman 1966)

Yeah, for some reason I really didn’t like him when I was younger. I think he creeped me out a little, lol.

Lol I can understand that

I dislike Jared Letos joker tbh

Mark Hamil is the Joker to me.

He’s voiced the Joker in all of everyone’s favourite Batman stories, and a lot of people don’t even know that he did. Luke Skywalker being able to play the Joker the best is also just great.

Heath Ledger was the best live action Joker though, that’s true

Also Joaquin Phoenix looks pretty cool, even though the film looks awful

Yeah, anytime anyone mentions him, my sister goes on a rant about how against the film she is.

The whole ethos of making a film about the Joker is simply antithetical to the idea of the character, but hey. The actor looks and sounds the part

:woman_shrugging: The film isn’t even out yet, so who am I to judge.

Who knows? Maybe it’ll be a good movie.

Fingers crossed, honestly. I want it to be good

Yup. Like how they failed when they tried to give him an identity and claim he’s 4 people. The Joker is supposed to be unexplainable. He’s chaos embodied

I totally agree with your rankings. Jared Leto did a terrible job at being The Joker.

That’s really well put!

It’s like they decided The Joker would be better as a p*mp.

At least Suicide Squad had Margo Robbie though, in opinion, that’s its only saving grace.

He did! And it wasn’t even entirely his fault. The directing for that film was atrocious. But then again, that’s what you get when you have to redo a film on such short notice. That’s what you get when you sacrifice integrity for “pleasing everyone”

It had a good soundtrack but if I wanted that I could just get it, no point in watching the movie for that :joy:
