The Second Quest (D&D) : Official Thread

Northwood was a pretty town, but for Therai, it was only a brief stop on his adventures. There was something charming about it though, and he’d already stayed there a couple of days longer than he had initially been planning to. That also had to do with the fact that he hadn’t found another quest to partake on. The last one had kept him on the road for several months though, so it was nice to have the days off to rest.

He had spent the early parts of the day playing his flute out on the street, getting a little money from some people who were kind enough to drop some coins into the case of his flute he’d left open. It wasn’t much, but he appreciated every little generosity spared his way. He didn’t have much to rely on these days, so the random acts of kindnesses were always well received from him.

Therai headed back to the inn, the gently used flute he’d managed to buy with his earnings from adventures past tucked safely into the black case he carried in his hand as he walked. He pushed open the door, moving through the rooms as he approached the bar, where a bartender and another lady were. She was a tiefling, like him, he noted.

As he got closer, he noticed that both of them were watching him come up to the bar. His eyes flicked between the two of them, amusement glinting in his eyes. Therai could feel tension in the air, but he had no idea what had caused it, and frankly didn’t particularly want to know either. “Hey,” he nodded to the woman, sliding into a seat at the counter. “How’s it going? You a local here?”

He passed a coin to the bartender, asking for a bottle of water.
