I like accents don’t get me wrong but I don’t like drool over someone’s accent. Like love island bring me all the accents (hate the American version)

I can do a great German accent.

It helps because I can actually speak it.

No, don’t … Only have the character translate it if asked, becuase I believe despite this character nobody speaks Haiti so it wouldn’t be realistic for people to just understand what she means

Neither do I, I just find that an interesting accent makes a person much hotter!

Fair, That works!

Yeah because I read a book where a character is transported back in time to a place that speaks a different language back when they had an official language, but they still spoke English with and around her. And in the series adaptation when characters spoke this language we didn’t ever have translation of it, and if it was important, it would be translated or revealed later … Because we … like her character, didn’t know the language and were left confused and wondering.

Actually, I recommend including the translation in your posts.

Whether or not the characters would know what it means or not, doesn’t matter. As an rper (particularly as the rp creator) I want to know what the characters say.

Sorry Levi, I know you may prefer this, but I disagree for the sake of the rp it’s better to have the translations.

Not having a translation is best when it’s a situation where a communication barrier is important.

Same.

I’m going in the direction of Jane Austen here, and says that a translation is needed only when it’s important … If somebody curses at another character or makes commentary in another language, the translation shouldn’t be given unless it’s important to the viewer or to the character

But I’m not Jane Austen.

You may prefer to follow that, but this is my rp and I put value in having the translation even for something meaningless. You aren’t required to read the translations, but I view it as important regardless. As it helps me understand the situation and character better.

So, as the creator of the rp, it is my decision that a translation is important. In an RP you create, (or for characters you own in RPs that I don’t own) you can make the call of what you feel is important, but please don’t try to pressure me into agreeing with your view of my opinion being wrong.
