Wren groaned, being woken up by one of their maids. Getting dressed, they glowered at the dress they’d put on. After getting coffee before breakfast so they didn’t rip anyone’s head off, they headed back to their room. Passing a closed door, Wren’s ears picked up the sounds of a piano. Their curiosity overriding their aloofness, Wren slowly opened the door, seeing a dark skinned girl sitting at the piano. They stepped inside, quietly closing the door behind them to listen closer. They made sure they were unseen to the pianist so as not to disturb her. They’d make themselves known once the girl stopped playing.

// The first day - Walking around //
“Lo que es más importante para ti, tiene el poder de volverte loco” she said speaking quickly “That what you care about most, has the power to drive you crazy. Something my grandma used to say. And she surely was right surrounding my siblings.” she chuckled.
Camila wasn’t surprised by Alviva’s answer, most higher castes had relatively high functions. Most experiences Camila had with what she imagined to be similar people to Alviva’s siblings hadn’t been great. Having power over others, it usually didn’t bring out the best in people. She could feel Alviva was not that comfortable talking about this matter, but she had thoughts on her mind she wanted to share, even if she was a bit nervous about how Alviva would react to her honesty. “Not quite sure they would be my type of people” she said “A good job doesn’t impress me, what’s more important is what’s inside. How you treat others, especially family. Sorry to be so negative, but them not being in touch much,” she said softly “it doesn’t give me the best impression of them. Though I guess it’s fair enough if they have their busy lives, at least they take out time every now and then to be in touch” she said shrugging, nuancing her previous statements somewhat and not wanting to give Alviva the idea she was attacking her family, as that wasn’t her goal. It was mostly her general frustration with the caste system that upset her.
She felt bad for Alviva, as those moments had always felt so, normal, not out of the ordinary, for Camila. “They are amazing nights. You deserve to experience something like that” without hesitation she continued “Consider this an invite once again to come over and hang out with me and my friends, I’m sure they’ll love you and you would blend in right away” she smiled at Alviva. “Plus, I bet you that our smores are the best you ever had. I don’t know what Ximena does to them, but they are the definition of perfection”
“Maybe” she shrugged “Maybe not. I’ve heard stories about how in the past they invited lower caste girls just to boost their own image. But I guess as the Queen is born lower class, you might have a fair point” This made her think, would she actually have a shot at winning this whole ordeal. She never had expected to even be one of the Selected, let alone that she thought she even had a shot at winning over his heart.
She couldn’t help but laugh with Alviva, but she quickly followed by “Well, good for you that you’re in that first category” she gave her a soft wink.
At that moment they turned a corner into an hallway, with a massive clock “10:30 already” she exclaimed. “We’ve been out here talking and walking for 2 hours now. I can’t believe it.” she said shocked. It felt like maybe 30 minutes had went by, but she didn’t expect it to be this much. “I think this is our sign to say adios, goodbye for today.” She smiled as she said: “I’ve really enjoyed tonight” she truly meant every word of that. Alviva seemed like a wonderful and very genuine person and the time they had spent together had flown by as if it was nothing.
She purposely not said goodbye to Alviva at their rooms, she needed some time to process everything before having to be social once again and talk to her maids. Usually Camila doesn’t mind people, but today had been a rollercoaster of emotions, she had lauged, cried, truly it would be a day to remember forever. A day that changed her life forever. With a detour she walked to her room, where she allowed her maids to help her change. Had some small talk with them, and vented about the day she had had. Once they left her to rest 30 minuted later, she brushed her teeth extensively (as that was not a luxury she had back home every day) and went lay down in bed. The most comfortable bed she had ever laid in. She fell asleep quickly, with a smile on her face, at least she had already made a friend here.
// The next morning, 6:30AM //
She had decided to wake up early this morning. She wanted to experience the sun rising. For now, she put on the easiest dress she could find in her closet and brushed her hair before turning it into a solid ponytail. She didn’t want to bother her maids at this hour, more so because she needed to wake up on her own. She needed these minutes by herself to become a functioning human. She checked herself in the mirror, and wasn’t too unhappy in her flowy blue gown and neat hair style. She put on a flowery pair of heels, and now she was ready to face another day, she walked out on the same balcony where she had met Alviva the previous day. She was greeted by the most gorgeous sun rise. Camila took a minute to take it in, the beautiful landscape, the sun rise, and the birds waking up. Soon however, her photographers instinct took over, she went back to her room to grab her camera. She went out to take some pictures, while they turned out beautiful and captured the sun rise perfectly, Camila felt like something was missing in the picture. It suddenly hit her what could add that extra layer to the photo. She was gonna keep Alviva to her promise. She wasn’t sure if the sun rise would ever be this gorgeous again, so she walked over to Alviva’s room and knocked on her door and a few seconds later softly said “Are you up? You have to see this, it’s spectacular this morning” She started slowly ticking with her feet, she was a bit impatient, while the actual sun rise was nearly done by now, the excellent lighting it would leave behind would maybe last for another 30 minutes, so it was now or never. Or well, at least not this day.

// bedroom //
Alviva listened intently to Camila as she talked. The invitation to visit her began to sound more and more enticing. Even though she didn’t know who or what Ximena was, she was eager to know. “That sounds like fun,” she says with a smile.
Camila’s words brought support but also pain. She knew her family wasn’t great, and especially compared to what Camila’s sounded like, it wasn’t surprising that her family was portrayed negatively. “I know they don’t sound like the warmest family, but they’re still my family,” she says softly with a weak smile. “They care about me in their own way,” she adds.
having to say goodbye was the last thing Alviva wanted to do. This was the most fun she’d had in years, and Alviva had hoped it would never end. “They say time flies when you’re having fun,” she notes with a chuckle. “I also thought it was a nice evening and I really had a good time with you” she says and impulsively she pulls Camila into a hug. “Thank you” she whispers before letting go and they go their separate ways.
Once in her room, she can’t stop smiling. She hasn’t felt this good in years and the more she thinks about it, the more she realizes that this was a happiness she had never felt before.
However, this feeling was quickly broken with a soft, tight knock. Eloise walks in and the maids quickly leave the room without saying a word. “What can I help you with, sister dear?” asks Alviva eagerly as she sits on the bed. “What, you suddenly got some confidence because you can have a general conversation, congratulations sister, you can now do the skills of a small child” says Eloise bluntly before she walks to Alviva. “I just wanted to see if you made a fool of yourself. I heard something about a mysterious pot that fell” she snaps.
Alviva lets out a sigh and rolls her eyes as Camila’s words pop into her head. “Did you just roll your eyes at me, little pest?” Eloise yells angrily as she grabs Alviva by the chin. “Don’t forget that I can make sure that you can leave again tomorrow, dear sister of mine” she threatens sweetly.
Still, Alviva was not afraid. “I really don’t feel like this nagging Eloise, when you’re done with your regular insults can you go I’m tired” says Alviva pushing her sister away. “Don’t forget you’re the one who didn’t want to be seen as family, when you come so often it gets noticeable” she mutters. “Oh you’re so tough today, don’t forget I’m also your tutor while you’re here” says Eloise before she walks out of the room.
With a sigh, Alviva drops onto the bed as she tries to calm the tension. Once calm, a small proud smile grows on her face. Even though it was terrifying, this was the first time for Alviva to stand up to her older sister. Tears of excitement and happiness roll down her cheeks as she grabs a pillow and hugs it. Despite the streaming tears, she can’t stop smiling. due to the amount of new experiences, it took her a while to fall asleep, but once gone, Alviva slept like a baby.
until she was awakened by a loud knock. Startled and afraid it was Eloise, she jumps up, only to see Camila in front of her. with a groan she falls back into bed. “OMG girl, you scared me, I thought you said you weren’t a morning person” she moans with her face in the pillows, but secretly she was very happy to see Camila again. “But since I’m already awake, come on, let’s see that beautiful morning,” she says as she jumps up, quickly slips into one of her favorite outfits, and then leaves the room with Camila.

Even if Elena retrieved the dagger, Edith’s heart wouldn’t slow down. But this time, it wasn’t fear, rather anger. She took a few deep breaths, holding herself back from any emotional reaction. Releasing her fists, she looked at Elena. At that point, she was out of words. Nothing she said would’ve expressed the rage she felt, and yet, she knew she couldn’t show it. Although Edith could’ve easily reported the guard for her behavior, she couldn’t disagree with what Elena was saying. She sighed, pausing to think. If she turned her in, then she would possibly land Elena in prison, the only guard who could protect her when male guards can’t. And even if she was angry at her actions, she could understand there was no other way for her to test Edith.
“I see.” she sighed. Now, Edith had an idea of what to do. “You really got me, you know? If I were actually in danger, I’m not sure what I would’ve done.” she laughed, a bit nervously. “Well, I believe you. Like you said, even the guards can’t be trusted.”
“Then…” she took the dagger, standing up. “Could you teach me what I should do, if I’m in danger and there’s nobody to protect me?” she asked. Edith hated the idea of being weak and vulnerable, but usually she managed to use it to her advantage. In the case of an attack, however, that wouldn’t be so easy. She’s never had to worry about any physical harm thanks to her bodyguards, but she’s never considered the possibility of her bodyguards being the one to harm her. And so, she decided to ask Elena for help, because she couldn’t stand the thought of being helpless and waiting for someone to help her.

Just before 10AM - with Sanura
It was a big day, one Beckett certainly didn’t know if he was ready for. If he was being honest, he wasn’t rushing to head in to meet the girls. Its not that he didn’t want to, there was just a small part of him panicking knowing the importance of the day, but he had to face it eventually. What he didn’t expect however, was that on his way to the dining room, he would encounter one of the girls.
She sounded just as surprised as he was when she saw him, and he was honestly still figuring out what to do in this situation himself. “Don’t worry about it. I’m the last person who would know the answer.” He said in regards to her not knowing what was expected of her and took her extended hand with a smile “Sanura, its a pleasure to meet you. I didn’t expect to meet you here, I thought everyone would be in the dining room for breakfast by now.”
Breakfast Time - Dining Room
When Beckett entered the dining room, he knew the attention would be on him. He was the reason they were all there, which in itself was terrifying. He had no idea what he was doing, or if any of the 34 girls in that room would actually like him. One of the girls had already asked to meet him early that morning to tell him that this wasn’t right for her. The last thing he wanted was to make someone feel like they were being forced into something they didn’t want, so he let her go home, but it only added to the worry that maybe none of the girls would want him. This wasn’t just about him finding a bride, or a future queen. He wanted love like his parents had, he wanted to meet the girl he would always want by his side, who would help push him to be better than he thought possible. However things went, his life was about to change forever, and all he could hope was that it would be for the better.
He walked past the tables where the girls were all seated to the head table where his family was to first give his mother a light hug, knowing this was an emotional time for her, bringing back memories of when she first met Beckett’s father. “What took so long?” Rosalie whispered.
“I stopped to talk to one of the girls on my way here. Don’t worry about it.” Beckett responded, admitting that he had talked with Sanura before making sure the next room over was ready. He was officially meeting the girls that day so it wouldn’t be a big deal. Not like how he couldn’t admit to his sister about the unexpected meeting the night before, that Rosalie certainly wouldn’t approve of.
There was no more delaying things, it was time to talk to the girls. They were mid-breakfast, though he had yet to stop and eat. He took a second, clearing his throat before addressing the room. “Hello everyone. I hope you all were able to settle in well and enjoyed your first night here.” He paused, taking a nervous breath. “Sorry, this is all new to me as well, so none of you are the only one nervous about all of this. I just want to say that I can’t wait to get to know each of you. This is just the first step of what I hope is going to be pretty great. Anyway, please keep enjoying your breakfast, I just want to take this opportunity to start getting to know each of you privately, then you can spend the day as you please. And thank you all for being here.”
@TheSelection - Beckett was speaking to all of the Selected girls here
with Cecelia
Beckett knew just who he wanted to talk with first, the girl he met in the garden. He walked over towards her, before offering his hand to her. “I’m sorry to interrupt your breakfast, but would you give me the pleasure of taking a few moments of your time?”
With her agreement, Beckett led Cecelia to a small sitting room across the hall, where there was a table set with some smaller food items by a sofa where they could sit to talk. “I hope you don’t mind that I wanted to talk to you first. I thought it seemed right after last night.”
with Seraphina
Between talking to each girl, Beckett wanted just a couple minutes to himself, a chance to think about how the conversation went, even to make a note reminding himself of something to ask her about or do with her later. Though after only a mere few minutes, Beckett went to approach another girl. This time it was a blonde with a sort of blue gray dress, certainly befitting a princess. “Would you like to join me for a few minutes?”
Amanda usually wasn’t up early, but to be fair, she was usually also up much later than she had been the previous day. She had called her maids over as soon as she woke up at 8, who had helped her in a modern black tight fitting dress which was more her style.
She walked around a bit once she was let go, and stumbled upon a cozy small room with a piano. Her musical urges kicked it, and she decided to play some. Piano wasn’t her favourite instrument to play, but for now it would have to do. She went back to her basics, one of the first songs she had taught herself, Für Elise. It wasn’t necessarily her type of music, but it was all she had access to when she was 9. The sound coming out of the piano was spectacular, and combined with her skills, it sounded special. She got lost herself in the music, becoming one with the musical piece. Once she finished, having played flawlessly, she noticed a girl watching. “Hi” she said, feeling a bit embarrassed she hadn’t noticed her before “What’s up?” She studied the girl, she had something unique. Amanda thought she was quite cute with her piercing and glasses, though she didn’t seem all that comfortable in her dress. Something about her gave Amanda a feeling this girl might be part of her community, a gut feeling, called a gay radar. She had learned from her experience last night, and knew she had approach this situation with caution. She didn’t want to potentially get sent home herself yet for being lesbian. “I guess we’re about to meet the prince soon, feeling nervous?” Amanda asked, hoping this would let her analyse the situation better.
@Ouijaloveletters - Wren. Amanda doesn’t know Wren is non binary, so that’s why I went with she, as Wren comes across as female at this point to Amanda…
Breakfast w/Fabiannne - mood board
Azra woke up lying diagonally in her bed. You would’ve thought a tornado hit the room with how the blankets and pillows were scattered. She remembered getting too hot in her sleep last night, well when she could sleep. She was too excited for today. She spent most of the night thinking about what she was going to say to the prince. She had never spoken to any of the royal family yet and she knew she needed to make a good impression. If her mom was here right now she would tell her to watch her mouth and not swear. She needed to remember that for herself now. The minute she saw even a peep of light coming through her window she was up. This wasn’t any different from at home. She wondered if she would be able to go for a run but before she even had a chance there was a knock on her door. Her three maids came in to help her get ready for the day. She was thankful for them. All three were kind and even had a really good sense of humor.
She didn’t usually do any hairstyles with her hair pulled back but she loved the way they fixed her long locks today. While she watched them do it she made sure to take mental notes so she could try and recreate it. Once the intricate braid was once done, they moved on to her makeup which looked similar to the first day’s look. Accenting her high cheekbones and adding a red lip. She had naturally plump lips so they didn’t find a need to use a lip liner to overline them. They moved her out of the bathroom and had her take her robe off to put on a long red dress. It hugged her curves and had ruffled that ran down the length of the gown. Finally, they showed her the shoes that had been picked and her jaw dropped literally. The shoes were a square heels and only about 3 inches high. The straps that held her foot in were braided and had little flowers made of fabric.
Once Azra made it into the dining hall for breakfast, her nose was hit with all the smells. Her eyes immediately were drawn to the pastries and wished her brothers, especially her twin, were here to try them all. As much as Azra loved baked goods, she was not good at baking. She didn’t like the waiting or how you had to follow the recipe to a t! Her brother was much better at this and that was why they usually tag teamed dinner. Azra on the main meal and her mom and Aahil on dessert. She thought about how she could secretly package some up and send them to her family.
As she took a bite of a buttery, sugary, and raspberry-topped tart, Beckett started speaking to the women. She hadn’t even looked at the table for the royal family until now because she knew it would just make her nervous. But she did now. She squinted her eyes and leaned forwards in her chair a bit. Was that…no, it couldn’t be! Nope. It is. Mr.Fox? Azra leaned over to the girl next to her. The boy next to Beckett is the other prince, right? She asked with a raised brow. She felt a bit of anger in her starting to build. Her cheeks were hot. He lied to her. He let her make a fool of herself in front of him! She swore in front of the prince! What a great first impression… What’s his name again? She asked the girl next to her also.

The day of the arrival, Kaia tried her best to lay low. She didn’t want her father noticing that she’d left, especially before she got on the flight.
But ever since she arrived, she’s been having second thoughts about her actions. Was running away to meet the prince really the best choice? She was rarely good at making rational decisions quickly, but this was among the worst decisions she’s ever made. Not only did she abandon her father and her home, but now she was faced with several other girls, all of which are competing for the prince’s hand.
She didn’t want to think too much about it, what’s done is done and cannot be changed. She went to sleep as soon as she arrived, and yet, she found it hard to sleep the entire night. Most likely a mix of excitement, regret and confusion. She didn’t know where to go from this point, but she believed she’d figure it out. After all, her life would’ve gotten boring if she hadn’t done this - is what she was trying to tell herself so she doesn’t have a breakdown.
Her maids woke her up fairly early, another thing she wasn’t used to. As much as Kaia wanted to go back to sleep, they insisted on helping her get ready. Apparently, it was their job to invade on her sleep. War crime. Half asleep, she only told them to give her a comfortable dress and tie her hair in a way that won’t bother her. After Kaia got dressed, she headed to the dining room to have breakfast. At last, something familiar. But unfortunately for her, she had to eat breakfast with at least 30 other people.
Kaia sat down on the emptiest table she could find. She wasn’t feeling too hungry, so she decided to wait a bit before eating. Noticing a napkin in front of her, she couldn’t help but try to make origami out of it. A girl was sitting across her, making Kaia start to feel a bit awkward.
“Hey, do you need that napkin?” she asked, attempting to break the silence. “Scratch that, that is not how you start a conversation. I’m Kaia.” she extended her hand.

Wren jumped slightly when addressed, raising their hand in greeting, smiling slightly. “Hey…I heard music, so I came to check it out. I’m really sorry if I disturbed you.” They said, pulling at their dress. “I like your hair. It’s pretty.” They said, walking closer to her. “Oh, I’m Wren…what’s your name?” Listening The what The girl said, they nodded. “Yeah, I’m excited to meet him. I don’t know how much he’ll like me, but if he doesn’t, thats ok. I’ll Just be happy to get to meet him. What about you? Are you excited?” They pulled up a chair next to the piano bench the girl was sitting on.

Hehe, gaydar. Yes.
// before breakfast //
Sanura let a short chuckle escape from her mouth. In a way it was reassuring that even the prince wasn’t sure what to do. He had immediately wiped away all her prejudices. At his comment about breakfast, she shrugged with a smirk. "I’m someone who lives to the beat of her own drum. Today I happened to be up early and so I wanted to find some places for meself that appeal to me a bit more, especially places outside. If I have to plan when I’m going to eat, then I end up eating little, and become hungry later, no thanks I like to eat well when I need to eat. As Sanura talks she realizes that she sounds a lot like a nagging teenager. “that’s how I’ve always lived, so… it will take some time before I can adapt to all the planned moments” she explains in a softer tone. “Especially since I didn’t even have the time to prepare, I was just thrown in at the deep end,” she jokes with a wink and makes a pushing movement by tapping the air twice with open hands. “I’m actually more surprised that you don’t quite know what to do, I had…and sorry I’m going to be extremely honest so don’t take it the wrong way…I expected you to be more…rehears… .no not really rehearsed but more…prepared nooo…co-ordinated, that’s the word I’m looking for…i would have expected you to be more co-ordinated in the general things that were expected of you. I kinda suspected that from the moment word got out that this was going to happen, they pretty much programmed you in,” she explains, very serious at first but ending with a chuckle. “Don’t worry, you’ve already proven me wrong,” she reassures him with a smile. She would actually be disappointed if she had been right. “I expected you to be much more of a straight serious person, apologies for the bias, but I’m positively surprised that’s not the case,” she added.
@Littlefeets - prince Beckett
“No worries” she said “no worries at all. I shouldn’t have played in a public space if I didn’t want to be disturbed” She smiled “plus, music has the tendency to bring me into my own world, so I hadn’t even noticed you yet” she chuckled as she said this.
Amanda couldn’t help but notice she was blushing a little when she got the compliment, her hair was quite special to her. “Thanks. Wren is such a rad name, parents named me Amanda, but actually, much prefer when people call me Dee”
Wren feeling excited about meeting the prince more or less ruled out the idea she could be lesbian, or maybe Wren was just a much better liar than Amanda was herself. She felt that regardless she would be safe by telling Wren the top of the iceberg “Honestly?” she said “Don’t really feel any type of way about meeting the prince. I’m not that interested in meeting him. If it had been up to me, no way I’d have been here.” Now she said this, she got nervous. “You better keep this a secret” she said, as she started playing the Pretty Little Liars tune and singing in with a kinda hoarse voice “Got a secret, can you keep it? Swear this one you’ll save. Better lock it in your pocket, taking this one to the grave” She meant it kinda jokingly, just taking any tension out of the situation. Amanda wasn’t the best in being serious, she had a tendency to change conversation once things got too serious for her liking.
@Ouijaloveletters - Wren
“Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I wear headphones so I don’t disturb people.” They nodded when the girl, now known as Amanda, or Dee said that she got lost in her own world when playing. “That’s how I am with singing or working with gems. It’s so calming, that I just fall into a stupor.” Wren tilted their head when Dee said she wasn’t excited about meeting the prince. “Why not, if you don’t mind me asking?” Dee’s next words seemed to mean that they were about to find out. Wren smiled when she began to sing, and joined in with a quiet mezzo soprano. “Of course I’ll keep your secret. Unrelated, but I’ve never seen Pretty Little Liars, and I’m not interested in it. I do like The Pierces, though. They sing the theme, if you didn’t know. Wait. Your secret isn’t that you
murdered someone, right?” Wren chuckled nervously.

Seraphina awoke with a smile, having been woken up by the gentle hand of her maid instead of the screeching voice of her stepmother for the first time in what felt like ages. She got dressed, selecting a gown that had been custom-made for her in Baffin, one that she felt represented who she was in a way. She then sat down at her vanity and one of her maids, Maria, began brushing her long, blonde hair. Sera was quite proud of her hair. It had taken her years to grow it out to its current length and she did everything she could to keep it healthy, even after bleaching it. When Maria had finished brushing her hair, she styled it in a half-up, half-down hairstyle, securing it with a blue-grey ribbon that matched her dress. She did her own makeup, sticking to peachy/nude tones but allowing herself to put a light dusting of glitter on her eyes.
She made her way to the dining room and was amazed the minute she stepped into the room. She was used to having her meals prepared for her by her family’s chef but they were nowhere near this extravagant. She took her time examining all the food that was available and carefully selected a few items, all fruits and pastry before making herself a cup of milk tea and finding a place to sit. When she found somewhere, she walked over, carefully holding her plate and cup to ensure she wouldn’t drop or spill anything. She delicately placed them down on the table before sitting down and crossing her ankles.
She ate for a few minutes before she was approached by a man who she immediately recognized as the prince. She smiled at him as he spoke to her, inviting her to join him. “I would be delighted, your highness.” Seraphina responded, trying her best to keep her composure and not let the excitement bubbling within her show too much. She stood up from the table and turned to face the prince. She curtsied before standing to her full height, finding herself to be almost at eye level with him. Already considered tall by most of her friends and family, Sera stood at 5’7 with her shoes, which she always made sure had no more than a 2-inch heel. She then waited for the prince’s instruction.
@Littlefeets - Prince Beckett
“Fair enough” she nodded in understanding “what music is on those headphones?” Amanda asked curiously.
“You sing” she exclaimed. This right away made her like Wren more. “I can totally see you having an amazing voice” she sort of thought out loud. “And working with gems sound cool as well. You took some of your work with you?” she asked.
Amanda got a bit nervous by Wren’s question, she leaned over to Wren and softly whispered in her ear “Let’s say, if Beckett was a Princess I might have been interested, I’m like totally not into guys.” She wasn’t sure whether she was more nervous about Wren’s thoughts of her after hearing this, or any potential consequences she might have to face later if this would get out. A nervous chuckle came out, as she leaned back a bit again.
@Ouijaloveletters - Wren
“I listen to a lot of different genres. Like, a lot. We’d never get out of here if I started talking. It’s better if you just list artists and I’ll tell you if I like them.” They explained. They smiled bashfully when Dee said she could see them having an amazing voice, nodding at her assumption about the gems. “Thanks, I really appreciate it. My family and people I know have said my voiceis nice. I just like singing. About the gems, yeah, you’re completely right. I have some polished and uncut gems and stones in my room. I also brought a lot of already made jewelry with me. I actually made most of the jewelry I have.” Dee leaned towards Wren, and they tilted their ear towards her, eyes widening slightly. “Welp. My secret suddenly seems less…problematic. I’m non binary.” They stated matter of fact. “If you couldn’t guess, I don’t like dresses much. I’m trying to wear ones that make me comfortable. There’s also the…uh, chest issue.”

Just before 10AM - with Sanura
Beckett nodded slightly as he listened to Sanura talking about how she’s always been one to live and eat on her own time. “That makes sense actually. All of this would be a lot to adjust to anyway, especially if you aren’t used to how planned out the schedules are.” He let out a slight chuckle at her joking about being thrown in the deep end. In a way, he was in the same position. He was expected to know what to do, but he really didn’t. He had to figure it out as he went, and hope nobody could tell he was just trying not to drown. His gaze went to the ground for just a moment before returning to her as she brought up how she expected him to be more serious and certain about what was happening. He gave a slight shrug. “Honestly, my sister is the one who always seems to be the most coordinated and serious about everything expected of any of us. I just try to make it look like I know what I’m doing. I grew up knowing this was how my parents met, but its different actually being here, getting to meet you and everyone else.”
with Seraphina
“Excellent.” he said softly with a smile. When she stood, her heels gave her an extra couple of inches to nearly meet his height. “Come with me.” he said, offering her his arm to lead her to the other room.
“Please forgive me if I’m wrong, its Seraphina, right?” Luckily, Beckett was fairly good at remembering names, but he did still worry that he wouldn’t be able to remember everyone after only seeing their pictures and names. Fortunately, with Seraphina being a more unique name, it stood out in a way that was easier to commit to memory. “Make yourself comfortable, I just want to know a little bit about you. What makes you, you?”
Drew had not intentionally kept a low profile on the arrival night but she had been shocked by nearly everything and despite practically never being a quiet person she had been. She had talked a little here and there but nothing overly meaningful. Small talk with a girl here or there a quick my name is your name is there with a different girl. It was a lot to take in she was excited but also rather overwhelmed especially since everyone seemed to be so perfectly put together and she very much knew she wasn’t. You could take the girl out of the work shop but it seemed you couldnt take the energy or the workshop out of the girl.
She hadn’t met any of the royals that night to her knowledge at least and had primarily set her focus on remaining herself even if she made a fool of herself in the process. Her father had always told her even if you make yourself memorable by mistake you sill made yourself memorable. She had never thought that was really a great sentiment but was willing to risk it now. Maybe because she wasnt quite as polished as most of the other girls she would stand out. Standing out in any way she could use that. The one thing that stuck out to her the most about herself in contrast to every other girl she had seen or spoken to was that they were in heels she was not. She had been encouraged to try heals but quickly opted to wear boots or flats because she looked like a baby deer when she walked in heals. It was not in a cute way either.
She headed off to bed as things began to wind down she was a night owl but still all the excitement and out of water experiences had worn on her. She tried to work everything out like a puzzle in her head as she drifted off. There were just too many moving parts and variables for her brain to make heads or tails of anything as she drifted off though.
Drew woke up even before the maids had come to do so. The early morning work schedules had really paid off as part of her routine for once. She was alone for almost an hour before the maids even came looking for her as she sat in the rays of light the sun cast into her window and drew out a new puzzle she was working on. When the maids came in they gathered her attention and helped her choose her clothes and hair. Drew had opted for a braid to hold back her mess of long untamable curls. Her dress was simple but not too simple. She wanted to be her but not lost to the sea of ball gowns she knew would inevitable show up. She finished her look with slight blush and a lip gloss and frilly socks accompanied with a nicer pair of leather boots than she had ever owned in her life.
Drew was told to head to the dining room for breakfast, where the others would be, when she was done. She however had taken a little detour though the garden before and picked a few wild flowers from along the wall to tuck into her braid a lot like she would often do at home. It was a small reminder of when her mom would do the same thing for her as a little girl any time they would have a special day or do anything important.
When Drew had gotten to the dining room her eyes went wide with what they fell on. It was extravagant and there was more food in one place than she had pretty much ever seen but she assumed that was pretty much expected from here on out anyway. So she took a deep breath and found a place to sit. She smiled when she saw pancakes. One of her favorites simple and filling. She placed two on a plate and doused them in some syrup.
Drew looked up when a girl asked if she needed a napkin. “Have I made a mess?” She asked honestly worried she had. “It wasnt intentional.” She responded as she took her own napkin off her lap and looked around for what seemed to be a nonexistent mess. She then heard the girl again and looked up doe eyed with her mouth still partially full. She swallowed and smiled when she processed what the girl had said. “Im Drew.” She replied as she took the girls hand firmly and shook it. A firm hand shake had always been ingrained in her as a good way to seal a business deal so she hoped it applied here too.
