Dariana grinned at that. She had a real patient, like someone to take care of- the same way her mother had her patients and Dariana, Dariana had someone. Leah Fisher was truly an intriguing human being, she defied everything about life that is supposed to make sense. “And I’ll always do my best to assist.” Dariana said with a short bow. And She will, Dariana will take good care of Leah and any of her future patients injuries, she would truly make herself her mother’s daughter and be one of the best doctors ever. Her ednos and otho won’t get in the way too, after all she wasn’t striving to be a nutrisionist, she was striving to be a Family medicine physicians, Internists or a Cardiologists.
Dariana had told Leah to go ahead when she said she needed help on the fanciness, a small maiden smile on her face. Her smile had dropped internally when she had heard the question (internally but not externally because Dariana learnt from the best on masking feelings that might come off as ‘distasteful’)
“What would be the proper way to introduce myself to the Prince tomorrow?”
It was not like Dariana truly cared about the Prince nor the selection- she cared a bit about the selection, in a way that a little part of her wants to win. For reasons that it would be beneficial for mother, Alex and her if Dariana won and how it would open more opportunities for her. Dariana also felt like she would be more graceful, more like her mother if she was a true queen but she also didn’t care much about winning because all Dariana truly desired was making her mother proud and being a doctor was part of her long dream (she wasn’t sure how exactly she could be a queen and a doctor, those two things didn’t mix and weren’t proper for a queen to do and if Dariana was to be a queen, then she would have to be a proper one. She could not be a noble of such power and treat it like it was simply just a title, because Dariana knew better, and even if it was just a title, titles did exist for a reason). She stared at Leah, if she didn’t win and Alex didn’t win, then she did want Leah to be the Queen. It would open so many doors for Leah and society and life would make sense. A girl like Leah shouldn’t be of such poor birth (economically) so Dariana smiled, yes Dariana would help Leah, Leah deserved and needed it.
“The proper way?” Dariana said her upper lips curled. “Sometimes the prince might kiss a lady’s hand when introducing himself, sometimes he might not. If he does the kissing introduction, then you curtsy and give a polite smile.” Dariana explained, “You introduce yourself by bowing your head down respectfully, for example.” Dariana bowed her head, her right hand hanged in the air, she pretended like there was a hand holding it- the hands of the crowned prince, she wondered if the Prince’s hands would be soft and comforting or rough from training, “Dariana Tiergan, your royal highness. I am pleased to meet you.” And if not that, Dariana had said to Leah, “Or 'Dariana Tiergan of Providence.” It was the less formal but yet still proper way of greeting a royal you just met when in confusion and the better way if the royal looks ‘friendly’ or a better term, doesn’t seem to care much for highly formal greetings, Dariana explained with a small smile.
“If the Prince doesn’t kiss your hand, then you can simply curstie or give a small bow and introduce yourself as I said before.” Curtsying, now in this century was fairly ‘outdated’ in a way that meant people didn’t do that on the daily basis anymore, preparing french kisses. But curtsying was still the proper way of greeting someone from a really high class or for people who didn’t like touches. When Dariana would see people trying to do ‘properly’ curtsie when her mother was near, she would laugh internally at the obvious mistakes they would make. Was that rude of her? Probably but she was young and couldn’t help it. It still amused her today but she found it fairly cute too. They were trying hard to give a good impression and even if it wasn’t the right way, it still expressed the gesture quite well and that was why it amused Dariana. It was funny cute and respectful all at the same time.
Dariana loved curtsying, even when not needed (towards her familiar friends) because the greeting was a really intriguing greeting to her and she wanted to show that she respected and held her friends at a high esteem in her own little ways.
