I am always disappointed when I read stories that feature werewolves especially, because they feel even more generic than vampires because of just how many different human shapeshifters and half-human half-other-creature combinations there are. Selkies work in a very similar way to werewolves, but they’re so hard to find unless they’re one of many, or it’s a specific folk tale. So many creatures just never get any of the attention they deserve…

I can’t think of anything specifically that I’d love to see, but I would just love to actually get to see things from other cultures and get so much more variety of things to see!

Wendigos and Cockatrice scare me-

But here’s some faves:

  • Sphinx (The riddle ones that won’t kill you firsthand)

  • Dragons which are already widely popular!

  • Hydra Dunno something about fighting one seems cool dunno if it’s cause of Percy Jackson or not-

  • Cerberus uwu 3 dogs =

  • Kitsune extremely strong and powerful fox beings with TAILSS

  • Cyclops one eyed giants, Need I say more?

  • Hippocampus, Again Dunno if it’s because of Percy Jackson But I’d take one as a pet LIKE A RAINBOW SEA CREATURE THAT JUST SOUNDS MAJESTIC :unicorn:

  • Thunderbird, Wise birds with strong abilities :bird:

Did you know that in Homer’s Odyssey the Cyclops was never actually described as only having one eye? :eyes:

Interesting. I wonder where the one-eye thing came from then.

Other Grecian myths and legends! It’s very strange how features tended to get given to these kinds of things

I think it’s cool. One guy decided ‘hey, let’s give this thing one eye instead of two’ and everyone else sort of just went along with it and was like ‘yeah, that sounds cool’
