Okay, that makes more sense. Thank’s for letting me know. I might need to alter my main post then?
I mean, I don’t think you said it was braids in the original post.
I’m just gonna be honest: I have zero knowledge about hair styles. and maybe episode has the same problem because I think they just googled the name/found a few pics about it and used that as reference. Because if I search those 2 styles I get this for Feed In/Cornrow braids:
and this for double dutch:
but then again, like I said, I have zero knowledge about this stuff and the only hairstyles that I know are straight and a messy bun maybe you can explain this why I get these pics as results? because if I should believe these pics then episode did the hairstyle right?
The media tries to change the names. You need to search up “Feed in” braids and “Two cornrow braids” and you’ll see it’s the same.
I think this conversation might interest @ChaoticDeluge
oww now I see thanks !
This is the same way it’s made in Episode.
He was pretty interested in my other one like this. He’d love this.
Honestly, they always white wash names for ethnic and protective hair styles. Especially celebrities and the media. It’s pretty annoying.
They’re really pretty and it would be awesome to have them in the portal if they’d be done nicely the chances of them being correctly done are pretty slim tho . I think it’s worth making a feature thread for them
Double Dutch and French braids are names just a stupid way to push out these hairstyles from the ORIGINAL culture: African. These were African hairstyles. Originated and born.
ah! this is why episode just has to do a lot more research to things like this and tbh I never understood the name “Double dutch braids” they aren’t exactly our hairstyle and everyone in our country knows that. they are just some easy braids we like to create for fun. I was really surprised that these hairstyles were called Double Dutch Braids in the portal.
Thank you for the support.
Me too. And pissed. It was stupid. This is why they need people who specialize in these hairs and knows how to create them to be on the team.
and in my country mostly cilderen around the age of 10 wear those and after that we just don’t care about our hair that much.
Plus they aren’t braided much the same. Cornrows are tight, not loose.
they really do or they could just ask the people on the forum for some help I mean it isn’t so hard
They don’t communicate with us so I doubt it. Plus, some POC on the forums don’t even know the correct names.
No offense but some of the black people on those forums are–just not really strong in the head. Specifically one person. They think they know so much but they don’t and just sounds stupid and coonish.
