I always got C’s on essays in school, and I have a very poor vocabulary. I didn’t realize I liked telling stories until later.

I think unless you have trouble with the subject, your teacher is probably the reason for you not to like a subject. Some teachers are great at there job, and some others…not so much 
Another reason why we don’t like a subject could be we never wanted to learn the things we had trouble understanding. And then that follows us in the next grade (or year)

I disagree sorta.
I hate history. It’s so boring but I didnt always dislike my history classes. Some were fun and usually had the funniest most outgoing teachers. And my stepdad is obsessed with history and made learning about it fun with traveling and stuff, but I would never choose to learn about it on my own unless I need to. It just doesn’t interest me.
I also loved my high school science teacher. One of my faves, but I hate science.
And I also love math and all my math teachers were boring and hated. All we did was take notes every day. I actually liked those teachers more because they specifically taught math.
But I agree a passionate teacher can get you interested in a topic I’m sure. And a not so great one can make u hate it.
I think my dislike for writing had to do with me just not being good at it. I liked that teacher too.

Oh god I remember those old mandatory swimming lessons my school made us do, I was about 9 and hated swimming I was put in the lowest group and got swimmers ear every week, I hate sport but swimming is some higher level of satanism

That sounds terrible
The most boring subject in the school (and in the world) is civics. I really dislike that subject. Each class on it is such a suffering
And school itself.
