Names! We’ve all got one. I think my name is easy to say but over the years, I’ve gotten:

  • Jennifer
  • Gemma
  • Jenny
  • Genuivive
  • Gwendoline (this one was an inside joke but still)
  • Gem

I could do my surname but that would take a week :ghana::ghana::ghana: People with African surnames where you at?

I don’t mind when people say my name wrong I just find it annoying if I have to correct them over and over. And don’t get me started on the people that say your name wrong on purpose! Seriously if you’re one of those people that says ethnic-sounding names wrong for banter you’re the worst kind of person. Stop it.

My name is pretty simple it’s legit just “Eleanor”

I get alot of people saying “El ah NOR”

When it’s supposed to be “El uh ner”

I hate when people call me Ellie, especially after I correct them. Ellie just isn’t my name.

I have an African surname.

Also, I just use Faith on the internet because people always mess up my real name.

My name is Lexi (Alexia) and I’ve been called:

  • Alexis
  • Alyssa
  • Alexa
  • Lexis

(Not to mention my last name, which no one ever gets right because it’s Lithuanian and is long as hell)

No one has ever mispronounced mine :joy: but people have misspelled my name because my name, Jordin, can be spelled in many ways

  • Haquiequat (never spell my name like this, I will kill you)
  • Haki
  • Haqi (the only nearly correct spelling of my nickname)

And my last name? I live in a Latinx-majority place so people pronounce it with an h instead of a j
