I have the perfect song for this thread :joy:

Most people don’t mispronounce my name, but some add an extra syllable. :woman_facepalming::man_facepalming::purple_heart:

It’s three syllables, not four. :sob::blue_heart:

To be on topic, people mispronounce Cheyara easily, hence why I’m cool with friends using Chey lol.
It’s pronunciation is Shay-ah-ra :woman_shrugging:

Omg I did not know this and was pronouncing it wrong in my head the whole time!!!

And what’s wrong with the song?

:rofl::rofl: Let me guess, a Ch sound like church? Instead of the Sh sound? Lol…
And that song is irritating beyond all natural belief.

Yes because that’s how I think of it usually. And she’s as in Che Guevara not Shay! But now I know!

Nooo it’s a good song in moderation!

But yep now you know lol.
Yeah I think it was seriously overplayed here. Only time I can stand hearing it is in horrible bosses lol.

People have never mispronounced my name, but there was this one cashier lady person at Panera who was about to horribly misspell my name- like I legit thought that she was joking. She was like that cliche person who works at Starbucks and constantly misspells people’s names, I was with a big group and she was about to misspell everyone’s name.
It’s just Izzy.

I figured that’s how you pronounced your name. I’ve always pronouced it like that in my head anyway.

Oh everybody gets my last name wrong. Since it doesn’t at all like it’s written. I get these as the pronunciation.

Thonee
Thoui (the “N” becomes silent wheb people try to say it)
Thong (kid from elementary did this one and it has struck a nerve each time I think about it.)
Thouni (the “I” is heavily prounced)

When in fact it sounds like Tony. The “H” is silent

Is it pronounced easy? or eye-zy?

Neither - it’s Iz - ee
(or Iz -zee)

Someone I’ve known for 3 years (the leader of my youth group at church) suddenly started calling me Shannon a few months after I left the group. It’s so annoying! :joy:
