I turned, hearing Aiden ask if I wanted something to eat. “Sure, anything is fine!” I called. I walked into an unoccupied bedroom, looking around in awe. “This is huge…” I muttered, flopping on the bed. “So. Soft.”

I opened my eyes and looked around, I where in the place I didn’t recognized. From the looks of it, it was a infirmary or something like that. I must have been very tired, because I didn’t remember falling asleep, probably I fell asleep somewhere where I’m not supposed to and someone found me and thought I was sick or dead so they bring me here. Yes that makes sense I said to myself.
Then I noticed that I’m here not alone, there was more people in infirmary and almost every single one of them were injured. What the hell happened here? Looks like I missed something really fun or dangerious, maybe both?.. Yeah whatever looks like it’s ended anyway.
I got out of my bed and headed straight to the kitchen. I entered the kitchen and it was mostly damaged and burned down, well at least the fridge was fine so I walked straight towards it. There was one other person in here, but I just passed by him and barely noticed him. I opened the fridge looking for beer or any kind of alcohol, but there was none. Oh that’s right this is some kind of school, they won’t probably have that here, “Well sh*t” I said disappointed and started looking through drawers continuing my search.

I closed my eyes, sighing. “This is all so…foreign. I should probably check out the bathroom…” I removed the woman’s jacket and placed it carefully on a chair. I walked into the bathroom, my mouth dropping open. “Wow…sadly I shouldn’t shower because I don’t have anything to change into…” I sighed, walking out. “Da*n, Aiden doesn’t know which bedroom I’m in, and I’m starving…”

He was reaching the closing verse of a Les Miserables song when the girl had walked in. The new audience didn’t faze him, however, and he belted out the last few notes like she wasn’t even there, bowing dramatically as the song came to a close. “Thank you, thank you, you’ve been a great audience!” He blew kisses to the imaginary crowd (unless you counted the purple-haired girl), laughing as he did so. He grabbed another pot from beneath the cabinet and filled it with water, placing it on the stove to boil as well. The chicken was boiling, and so Aziel stirred it, glancing at his watch to check the time now.
He glanced back at the girl, head cocked, trying to see what she was looking for. Morphing into her, looking identical to what she looked like now, he walked behind the girl, looking over her shoulder as she searched through drawers. “…What are you looking for?” He asked, a cheeky smile on his (well, technically the girl’s) face.
After some time of searching through drawers for some alcohol, I was able to find a bottle of wine. I sighed and took. Ehh, I was expecting something better, but I guess this is still better than nothing at all, I said in my head. Suddenly I heard a male voice behind me asking what I’m looking for. “And why do you care?” I asked before turning around in a slightly annoyed tone.
Finally, I turned around to see who I’m talking with and was surprised to see my face in front of me. I was confused for a second but eventually figured it out. It obviously must be some other so-called mutant with the ability to change the appearance. “Well this is interesting,” I said impressed. That was a very cool power, what a possibilities, I started imagining what I could do if I had power like that.
I took a sip of the wine right of the bottle and then focused back on ‘other me’. “And who are you? How should I call you, other me? Mirror?” I asked.

“I’ll just go find him.” I concluded, walking down the hallway and downstairs, making my way to the kitchen. There, I saw what looked like identical twins. I rubbed my eyes in confusion, blinking. “Uh…looking for a boy with red hair…have you seen him?”

She pulled out a bottle of wine after he asked what it was she was looking for, and he snorted, rolling his eyes. “Of course, some alcohol,” he said, amused. Truth be told, he wouldn’t mind pouring himself a glass either, it had been a pretty eventful day. “Pour a glass for me too.”
The girl turned around and came face-to-face with… herself. She startled, then said his power was interesting. He smiled at this, nodding. “Very interesting,” he said, his voice changing to match hers. “Yeah,” his voice dropped back to his normal, deeper octave, “this is a pretty cool trick to use at parties.”
A black-haired girl entered the kitchen, and Aziel turned to her as she blinked at them in confusion, probably wondering why she was seeing double. He laughed, crossing his arms over his (her?) chest. The black-haired girl asked if he’d seen some random redhead boy, and unfortunately, he hadn’t, otherwise, he would’ve had fun playing with her. “Nope,” he said, his (oddly deep considering the body he was in) voice ringing out. “No clue where he is, or who you’re talking about.”
Turning back to the girl he was looking like, he put a finger to his chin, smiling. “Hm, yeah, mirror will do just fine,” he said, laughing.

I opened another drawer and took out two glasses, I poured them and gave one to my doppelganger. Then I put a bottle aside and took the remaining glass. I sat down on the counter and raised my glass in the air. “Cheers,” I said and took a sip of my wine. “Instead of drinking alone I’m now drinking with myself,” I said and laughed a little bit.
“So mr. mirror…” I started to talk when a cute black-haired girl walked in the kitchen looking for someone. It was obvious that she was confused by seeing two of me, who wouldn’t?. At first, I just grinned at her reaction, but when my doppelganger started laughing I couldn’t help myself and joined in. After I calmed down a little bit, I shaked my head as an answer to her question. “No there are no red-haired boys. Only purple and black haired girls” I said and smirked at her.

I reeled back in shock when one of the girls spoke with a male’s voice. “I…I’m not going to ask. Thank you for your help.” I said, quickly walking out. “Ok, I’m in a house full of people like me, and that was still the weirdest thing I’ve seen all day…” I muttered, looking for Aiden.

The older girl repeated her hesitance about letting the girl live, to which Lapis let out a bored sigh. “Yes, I know she hurt your friend, but that’s not in my jurisdiction, and neither is it in yours. We can’t be vigilantes, no matter if we are mutants or not.” Then, the girl seemed surprised that she wasn’t joining the team, to which Lapis only laughed. “Oh, no. I have no need for protection nor shelter. Unlike the children here, I can take care of myself, thank you very much.” These kids like to think they have it hard right now. Wait until they have to fight in a war over something they were born as.
As they followed the young man towards the quarantine room, Lapis noticed he seemed to be eavesdropping on the two of them, which he confirmed when he asked whether Charles was actually dead or not. “No, he’s not, but if you really must know, he’s in critical condition in the infirmary. We’ve offered to take him somewhere that has more than just Tylenol and ice to offer, but he has since declined.” Lapis repeated back what she had been told exactly, not exaggerating or underplaying any detail.
They arrived to the quarantine room a few minutes later, the girl still unconscious inside. “Thank you, that will be all. you can go back to whatever you were doing before, we’ll take care of the rest o-” Lapis was interrupted in the middle of her sentence by a buzzing in her wire. "One moment.’ Lapis walked out of earshot and turned the corner before answering the message. “What?” She asked, slightly annoyed.
“Listen, Lapis, they can’t get a transport to you right now,” A voice on the other end said.
“What?!”
“They don’t have any level four transports out right now, they need you to stay put until then.”
“How long will that be?” Lapis asked, increasingly miffed.
“I don’t know, three or four days? Along with the only rational one in that madhouse close to being a vegetable, they want you looking out, make sure nobody blows anything up.”
“A bit to late for that,” Lapis said bitterly, remembering the smell of smoke from when she entered.
“Well… that’s not our problem. Anyways, I-”
“They can’t make me,” Lapis said.
“You know they can. Lapis, they could put you in jail, and even if they didn’t, who’s gonna hire an immigrant mutant fired by the government?”
Lapis thought for a minute. “Okay, fine, whatever,” she said, like a petulant child. Before the man could respond, she turned off her mic, returning to the three other mutants.

The creature had been awake for much longer that the mutants that captured her seemed to have realized. She would have escaped- Or, even better, killed them all- a long time ago if she hadn’t been restrained. She could extend the claws on her knuckles just fine, but they would do her any good if she couldn’t move her arms. The ropes had been tied to cover the spot on her forearms her dewclaws extended from, and even though she could extend the dewclaws on her calfs, she wasn’t flexible enough to make that ability useful. So she kept her eyes closed and her limbs limp, let herself be carried like a useless damsel, and listened.
The woman was from the government, from some kind of agency, either defunct or covert or semi-illegal or all three. The others were suspiscious of her. That could be used. And Xavier was… alive. Just barely, but alive. And it wouldn’t matter how much she’d injured him; The facility never care for technicallities. All that mattered is that he was alive. And she’d failed. She’d failed her one mission, her primary objective, failed at the one thing she was built for, the only thing she was good for. She failed, and now she was useless. Was this woman sent to her as a test? Was every filthy mutant in this mansion placed here to test her? And now that she’d failed, what would happen?
Who was she kidding. She knew what would happen.
The transport would arrive. The woman would take her somewhere, some remote facility, maybe even back to base. Someone would get orders from their wire, and that’d be it.
She’d be put down like a dog.
…She’d never gotten the chance to taste strawberries.
As soon as she was put down in the Quarantine Room, the creature gave up the act. She lept to her feet and ran at the door just before it closed, slamming her full weight against it in a futile attempt to open it. She heard the lock shift into place a few seconds afterwards. Now that she was trapped, she used the same protocal that she’d practiced time and time again; Shaking her head until her earpiece fell to the floor, she crushed it under her boot. Now no one could trace the signal back to base. She couldn’t carry out the second step of the protocol. If she wasn’t flexible enough to cut herself free, she wouldn’t be able to make the dewclaws on her calfs reach her throat. So she sat on the medical bed in her cell instead, giving a challenging glare to the government woman through the one window. She’d die anyway. Mission accomplished, as far as she was concerned.
He smiled, clinking his glass with her. “Ah, well, drinking buddies are always good to have, even if they look identical to you.” He sipped his wine, sighing contentedly.
He and the girl shared a laugh together, much to the further puzzlement of the poor girl who’d walked in. Aziel’s twin said, "No there are no red-haired boys. Only purple and black haired girls,” which he raised his wine glass to. “Yes, all is as it should be, only purple and black haired girls here, darling.” He drawled, his smile stretching as the girl backed away slowly. “Aw, leaving so soon? Too bad,” he pouted, waving as she left the room.
He turned to the girl, laughing. “She was so startled, did you see her face?” He morphed into the girl who had just left, making a perfect imitation of what she’d looked like when she had walked in on the two. “I… I’m not going to ask,” he mimicked her, his voice rising to meet hers at its octave. He let out a sigh, changing back into his usual appearance. “How fun,” he said, checking his watch. Enough time had passed so he moved to the stove, taking the chicken that was boiling and putting most of it in the oven, while he cut a few into little pieces. “So, while you can keep calling me Mirror, that’ll do fine, my actual name is Aziel. And you?”
@Owertym - Cobra
The black-haired left as soon as she entered, she didn’t said her name or anything at all actually. I would have liked to know her better, well she is gone now, so I focused my attention back to my doppelganger. Soon after the girl left he morphed into her and mimicked her face expression and voice. I laughed a little bit and then took another sip as he turned into someone different.
I assumed this is his original form, or it could be someone else. I didn’t knew how he looked or how does his powers works, so I wasn’t sure. He introduced himself as Aziel, “Mirror fits you better” I said slightly grinning and smirked. “I’m Cobra” I simply added and took another sip of the wine.
I studied him from head to toes, “So this is how you usually look or just someone else?” I asked interested. “Also how does that work? Do you have to see person you transform to or you can change into whoever you ever saw before?” I asked. “I mean for example would you be able to turn into me like 2 days later or you have to see me before you do that?” I added explaining.

I walked into the living room, sighing. Food appeared to be being made, so I’d wait. I decided to walk around for a bit, familiarizing myself with the place.

The woman’s patronizing tone was beginning to get on Ziva’s last nerve, and she breathed in deeply through her nose to try to control her rising temper. “I just don’t think she’d be missed,” she said finally, her words even. The lady rebuked her question about joining the tea, saying she could take care of herself unlike the “children” here. Ziva pinched the bridge of her nose, attempting to calm herself down. I’ve been taking care of myself lady, but even I wouldn’t turn down free lodging and security. The lady’s whole superior attitude irritated Ziva, mostly because she seemed to differentiate her from the rest of the mutants, but the fact of the matter was that she wasn’t so much better than them. “Great for you,” she replied through gritted teeth.
Oh, so Charles isn’t dead. The revelation didn’t particularly bring her relief, but it didn’t bring her regret either. She didn’t know Charles well enough to feel one way or the other about it. It did surprise her, however, since the way the woman had described his injuries had made them seem fatal. Maybe he’s invincible or something, she thought.
They arrived to the quarantine room, and they put the girl inside, before pushing the door shut. As they did, the girl rammed into the door, apparently awakened. They were quick to get the door all the way shut and slide the lock on, and the creature didn’t attempt to escape anymore. Ziva moved to the quarantine window as the lady went off to take a phone call, watching the creature through the window. The creature was glaring pretty hard, and Ziva couldn’t help but roll her eyes before turning away to lean against the door. She briefly wondered what was going to happen to the girl, but it wasn’t something that was going to affect her so she didn’t dwell on it. “So is that it? The creature gets put in here and you and your buddies take care of it?” She asked the government woman.
He noticed that the girl seemed kind of disappointed that the black-haired one had left so quickly, and he furrowed his brows studying her. It was very possible that she had wanted to get to know the girl, but he wondered if that was for entirely platonic reasonings or, perhaps, more romantic ones. He smiled slightly to himself; he would figure it out eventually.
He snorted, taking another sip of the wine. “Well guess my new mane is Mirror then as I’ve now been renamed by a random girl I met.” She introduced herself as Cobra and he raised an eyebrow at her, a laughing smile on his face. “Let me guess, your mutantness is snake related?”
She asked him if this was how he usually looked and he nodded, spinning so she could see him in all of his glory. “Yep, this is my first and best appearance. I know, I know, utterly fabulous.” He dusted off his shoulders, grinning. “I can technically transform into anyone I’ve ever seen, but I’d have to have a pretty good picture of them in my mind, or else I turn out sort of… blurry.” He thought for a moment, thinking of everyone he passed by that morning. “Like on the way here, I passed an old woman, but I don’t really remember each distinct feature.” He morphed into the old woman, becoming white, shorter and more wrinkled with a gray bob. His face was blurred and not as detailed as his Cobra face had been. The features kind of faded into each other, and there wasn’t anything particularly defined on the face. “See? Also, I have no idea what she sounds like so I’ve got no voice to change to.” He morphed back into himself, shrugging. “So it really depends on how much I see you and how much I remember of you.” Aziel poured some pasta into the boiling pot of water, before turning back to Cobra. “Oh and I can also walk through walls and stuff, so there’s that.”
The guy asked if my mutant abilities are snake related, I raised an eyebrow at him trying to pretend that he is wrong, but it was clear that I was faking it. “No, Why would you think that?” I asked slightly grinning. “What if I just like snakes very much,” I added and stick out my snake-like forked tongue making it slightly longer than a normal person.
I studied him from head to toes again and nodded in agreement, “Yeah it is the best one from the ones I saw so far…” I said slightly grinning. “Of course if we won’t count mine” I added and winked at him. I listened interestedly as he was explaining how his powers work. “Well I’m hard to forget, so you should have no problem turning into me even after few days then” I said and laughed a little bit.
I took another sip of wine as Aziel added that he can also walk through walls. “Cool, but not as interesting as shapeshifting,” I said.

Ajee was walking around the mansion, trying to get used to everything. It was a new experience that was out of her element. She decided to make herself some tea in the kitchen, but when she looked around she saw twins talking to each other. Something was strange about it but she couldn’t think of why. After coming out of the kitchen, she sat down on the couch next to the girl from earlier. She was watching a show that looked like it was for kids.
“What is this about?” Ajee asked while crossing her legs on the couch.
