“No problem. I needed the practice.” even though he hated his Magnetokinesis he still thought it was a good idea to keep his power ready to use if he needed it in an emergency.
“I can talk to ravens too, but I don’t want to call Edgar again. He’ll want to come in, and I don’t think Mr. Xavier will like that.” I said.

“sorry about this lena.” James spoke, he hoped she would forgive him for what he was about to do. James held out his right hand and blew in to his palm before closing it for a couple of seconds. He opened his hand again and threw the CD air over her. Making her feet freeze to the floor. He was hoping to freeze all of her not just her feet.
I stared as James froze Lena to the floor. “Ok…that was cool. Pun intended.” I joked. “Do you need help?” I asked her.

“I can unfreeze her.” James held up his right hand again he touched the block of ice freezing Lena to the floor. He was really out of practice. He managed to unfreeze one of her feet.
“Uh…ok, now do you need help?” I asked, a little worried about her.

Lena watched as James and Korbyn showed off their powers a bit more, envious that she didn’t have a more physical power. And then… her feet were frozen. “Oh my god,” she said, looking down at the blocks of ice encasing her feet. She looked back up. “I hate you,” she said, deadpan. “Now my feet are cold .” She tried wiggling her toes, to no avail. Her right foot was soon unfrozen, seemingly unharmed - No frostbite? Weird,- but her left got was still stuck.

“I might be able to help…” I questioned.
@phnx - Lena
“Shoot your shot,” Lena said, wondering how shadow magic could possibly help with ice.
@Ouijaloveletters - Korbyn
I nodded, two shadowy hands gently grabbing her and pulling upwards, holding her in the air. Unfortunately, her shoe was still stuck. “Um, it’ll melt.” I said.
@phnx - Lena
“Are you hurt?” James asked Lena. He didn’t want to hurt her. He was unsure how much of her got frozen other than being stuck to the floor. James asked the new comer “what’s your name?”
I was about to say something else when the girl turned into a raven right in front of my eyes. I wasn’t used to seeing someone else do that so it shocked me. All of the things they were doing were surreal. Then suddenly, James froze Lena’s body, which was pretty cool but I was honestly worried when her shoe was stuck.
“That’s sick.” I said with a surprised expression on my face. James asked me what my name was. I didn’t even introduce myself yet.
“Well. I guess I’ll do a proper introduction now. My name’s Judas Mcbain.” I said with a faux British accent. I turned to the girl with the black hair.
“I know everyone else’s name but what’s yours?” I asked her.

going to sleep
Aiden walked through the forest, boots crunching on the thin layer of freshly-fallen leaves. he had left home later then he would’ve liked, but it wasn’t like being late ever hurt anybody. Besides, he enjoyed taking the scenic route- especially when it meant avoiding his hometown, which was way too close to this ‘manor’ for comfort.
He closed his eyes and took in a breath of chilly forest air, when it suddenly seemed like there were a lot more footsteps than just his own. He opened his eyes to see what looked like three college freshman incredibly hungover. One had a bottle of beer in his hands, the other carried a hunting rifle, and the last one had a nasty burn scar all down his chin and to his chest and arms. Aiden was immediately on red-alert- they seemed like certain trouble.
The one with the burns was first to notice him. When he did, he began laughing, his friends quickly joining, like a pack of drunken hyenas. Aiden was unnerved, but he decided to stand his ground- a decision he almost immediately regretted. “Iss the mutan’ freeeeak!” The one with the burn marks exclaimed, slurring his words. Aiden then realized that he recognized the guy- he was one of the ones sitting in the front of the room when Aiden and his tormentor had debated, egging the guy on. The day Aiden’s X-gene had activated, the day that everything had gone to hell…
Oh my god. Aiden’s eyes traced the boy’s burns. It was almost as if a small firebomb had gone off in front of him, causing the burns. It had. I did that? Aiden swallowed hard. He had heard about the deaths, the corpses charred to a point where they couldn’t even be recognized but this… he had never imagined he would be back in his hometown, let alone confronting one of the victims of his powers stirring. It was almost… surreal.
While he stood there in shock, he suddenly realized the guy holding the beer had chucked his bottle at him. Now, a reasonable, collected person would’ve just sidestepped the thing, walked away from the situation.
Unfortunately, Aiden is neither reasonable nor collected.
Aiden instinctively raised his palm skyward towards the bottle, sending out a blast of fire that shattered the bottle on contact and sent lit droplets of alcohol careening towards the flammable forest floor, setting a few leaves ablaze. Aiden was temporrily stunned, before hearing the sound of a gun cocking. Sh!t.
Aiden slowly looked down to see the group of boys guffawing, the one holding the rifle drunkenly attempting to aim at Aiden. Aiden froze. It was as if the world had gone still, and that split second lasted for hours. Then, he felt fire running up and down his body, like the day his X-gene activated, but… different, somehow. His bones cracked and shifted, and Aiden knew in the back of his mind that it should hurt, but he was too hyped up on adrenalin to care.
Aiden realized a few things at once: One, that he was still on fire. Two, that the fire was now spreading up the threes and throughout the forest. Four, that the boys were staring at him like he had grown an extra head. Five, he now felt very, very small. And six? He had a gun leveled at his head. YEt, throughout all this, his instincts yelled at him one thing: FLY!
And so he did. He pumped his arms- er, wings- like a madman, as bullets whizzed by his head. He was finally able to get off the ground, and the breeze carried him higher and higher, until he was in the sky, bullets harmlessly grazing his tail feathers. Is this real? Am I actually flying? Holy sh!t, check that. I’m so high up! I-
Aiden’s train of thought was suddenly interrupted by a very hard truth- that hard truth being a hard window that he just crashed into. His fire went out on t he carpet, leaving a dazed red-tailed hawk surrounded by smoldering carpet, broken glass, and gaping mutants. Guess this is the mansion, then.
@everyone in the hallway i guess
Another newcomer. “Hi, my name is James. What brings you to the audition?”, James asked them. He looked lime he was in his own world.
“So, sorry for not introducing myself sooner. I’m Korbyn.” Just as I said that, something crashed through the window. I jumped up, rushing to the bird. “Oh my god…” I muttered, dropping to my knees next to it.

Aiden shifted back rather quickly after the shock wore off. “I’m fine…” he muttered, trying to stand back up, but only succeeding in making himself even dizzier. He laid his head down on the floor. “I’m just gonna… rest here… for a minute.”

Location: Study Room.
“Hi” The girl said in a small voice. Gwen gave her a confident nod in her direction.
Two more girls entered the room as Gwen peeped an eye towards the two, Gwen debated on talking to them later but decided on not doing it- For now.
. “That’s both cool and disturbing…sorry for not noticing you. I’m usually the one to go unnoticed…” The girl muttered. “Your fine…” Gwen sighed plopping back on a nearby chair.
Gwen turned her view back to the professor as another girl entered. Jeez, how many females were going to enter this place- No guys? Truthfully Gwen bonded with men more due to the tomboyish stereotype she often gets associated with…Either that or most girls feared her abilities.
Gwen watched as he sent a mild shockwave to everyone. Which didn’t do anything for her. “Hello, Guinevere. It’s lovely to meet you. Your powers are extraordinary." The professor stated, Gwen furrowed her eyebrows in irritation as he obviously just used whatever name he could that could work with Gwen. Of course, he wouldn’t know it anyway considering he couldn’t put any telepathic sensor in her mind. That is if she didn’t say it beforehand. Gwen rolled her eyes as he continued.
“And rest assured, we did notice you. But, maybe, just maybe, if you hadn’t barged into the room like a self-entitled, desperate little brat, someone would have actually wanted to acknowledge you. You didn’t make a very good first impression, you know.” The professor stated in a stern and sarcastic manner.
Gwen immediately stood up getting close to him. “Let me explain something to you, You arrogant over-prideful penny pincher of a man.” Erik chuckled just a bit from the corner of his mouth, Not only for Gwen’s bold personality but because she was semi-right about the professor’s arrogance. Xavier shot him a scolding look.
“You can intimidate every person that comes in here, But I won’t be subjected to your stupid mind games, Not that they’ll work on me anyways, Some power huh?” Gwen stated smugly. Admittedly she wasn’t trying to be arrogant when she came in- She just didn’t know how to respond well to new people he didn’t have to know that though.
"You didn’t make a very good first impression, you know. But I’d like to get to know you, truly I would. When it’s your turn to be interviewed .” He said it all with a calm, gentle quietness and a fatherly, warm smile. At that last line, though, he stood up and turned to the group. Keeping the same tone but being a little more obvious, he said,
“ I believe it said very clearly on the flyers to come in one at a time and wait patiently when the study was already occupied. I am ecstatic to see you all here, but I’d much rather see you in a calm, orderly fashion than… whatever this is. If we are going to be on a team together, I will need to recieve a little bit of respect. And if you give me that respect by listening and following my rules, I’ll give equal respect to you. That’s not too much to ask, is it?” He smiled calmly and Erik snickered in the corner, most likely because he’d usually be the one in this position. After a beat, Charles turned to Jean. “Jean, would you please escort all but 1 of the children out of the room for me? Erik will help you. We can all catch up later.” The professor stated.
“Maybe if you weren’t as slow as that shock wave you sent out, Everyone would’ve been done already. Now if you could ever-so-kindly f^ck off. and do your self-righteous intercom speech. You dried up box of corn flakes.” Gwen stated snatching a chair and sitting back down on it.
Location: Outside The Study Room.
Jean nodded, Slightly amused by the interaction between Charles and Gwen, Every other girl in the room was polite and well adjusted, Whilst Gwen just reminded her of a younger and slightly more rebellious Erik.
“Please, Follow me.” Jean flashed everyone a small smile escorting the girls out. Gwen quickly shot up opening the door to escape.
“Careful now, One by one.” Jean stated in a calm manner to the girls who were leaving the room.

“Just stay there. Do you need anything?” I asked, standing up.
@phnx - Aiden
“Not really,” Aiden replied to the nice girl that had approached him. He couldn’t focus on her very well, though- his head was still swimming, his mind reeling from the events that had just occurred, and his whole body aching. “Maybe a glass of water. And my dignity, I think I left that somewhere in the forest.” He sat up, resting his head on his arm.
