Sadie sat in the passenger seat of the car, immediately feeling the blasting heat after being out in the sprinklers. She looked at Valerie, looking even more pained up close. Though she knew it wasn’t any of her business, Sadie couldn’t help but wonder what it could have been that brought her to this place. They hadn’t continuously kept in touch during Senior Year, and she had certainly never been here for a moment like this, and she didn’t keep tabs on who she was friends, and no longer friends with. So, Sadie quickly gave up, knowing that she really had no chance at guessing what it could be.

As Valerie struggled to find the words that summarised how she was feeling, Sadie completely faced her, listening attentively. An answer came in the form of a whisper and on instinct she put her hand on Valerie’s shoulder. “What’s too much?” She asked, not necessarily because she was interested, though she was, Sadie also knew that getting it out might be better than not talking to anyone. “Tell me about it, Valerie,” Sadie said, softly, trying to lift her head by meeting her eyes.

Reina Katherine Monroe

It didn’t matter what the situation was, Sadie would always be there. Reina knew Sadie loved her, and didn’t judge her. Circumstances just weren’t in Reina’s favor. It was hard enough to be the person her parents wanted her to be, but walking the runway would pull her even further from who she really was, and in front of so many people. She couldn’t do that. She wasn’t the girl she let everyone see. Reina talked with Sadie, telling her about what her tasks were before Sadie had to get ready for the fashion show. When Sadie was modeling, Reina had made certain to take a bunch of pictures to show just how awesome her sister looked up on that runway. Though, soon the sprinkler system was set off. With the rush of people, Reina lost where her sister was, but upon stepping outside she did end up finding, or well running, into someone she knew from behind. Daniel Parker.

After Candice telling her she appreciated it, to which Delilah silently dismissed, she went on to talk about their mother and what she was going to do now. She sighed as Candice theorised that Lily-Ann would make false statements to take the baby, and how she would probably win, too. “That’s not going to happen, Candice, it won’t,” Delilah argued. No, she didn’t exactly know how maybe having both daughters against her would convince people who the real mentally unstable one was. If that didn’t work, the last option and… the worst case scenario was demanding the input of a certain someone that could get Lily-Ann out of the picture and that suddenly owed her one, or two. Or several hundred.

Though she chose to specifically miss that part out, not wanting to formally put that up for consideration. Of course, she didn’t ever want to turn to the fall-back option, but this wasn’t about her. “I promise,” She reassured despite not giving her any reason to believe her, but she was now convinced that it was going to work out for her, “Lily-Ann is not going to be a problem.”

When the subject was changed by Delilah, she lost all eye contact with Candice, to hide the emotion that was obviously there. For a moment, Candice was silent, and Delilah let the silence take over the room again, until she broke it, beginning to compose the question that was whether or not she was going to see him. That hadn’t been something on her mind, but now she couldn’t stop playing around with the idea of it in her head. “I don’t know,” She replied, shortly, her shoulders dropping. Then after a pause, she continued. “I mean, I don’t even know… if he’s allowed… visitors, I’d never checked and… I only just now found out… about it.”

There was nothing better that could happen on his birthday. Nothing better than hearing what he believed in wasn’t true, that maybe he didn’t do anything wrong to deserve what happened. And yes… for a very long time he did blame himself. He had no reason not to but holding her at that moment, he felt a weight lifting off his shoulders as he kissed the top of her head before pulling away.
“Rihanna’s music video, of course,” subtly but jokingly, he rolled his eyes at her answer. “Hope you did better because that video sucks. And I was just here, waiting for you…”

There is one more thing we need to talk about. If they weren’t hugging each other just seconds ago he’d think this was the moment he’d been waiting for. The moment someone would say something that would cause a fight and maybe for a second he was scared of that actually happening until he heard what else she wanted to say. With a soft smile, not taking his eyes off of her, he leaned back against his car and simply nodded. That’s all he ever wanted. Needed. An explanation, a reason for why she left without saying anything, to anyone. He just wanted to know why, as selfish as it may be he felt like he, out of everything, deserved to know. “Okay,” keeping that soft smile, he whispered before she even finished. But a chuckle escaped his lips the moment she mentioned being four. If she never said that he would’ve but he soon shook his head and jokingly pouted, “I won’t, I won’t… no need to get violent now,” he teased, slightly raising his hands in surrender. “And since when do you ask to come over? Didn’t you say you were going to break in and do some grocery shopping I can take credit for later?” Laughing lightly, he asked, remembering a short conversation they had right before the show, at that moment feeling… happy. It would be hard, maybe even impossible for things to go back to the way they were, but that depended on them. He just knew he was willing to give it a try. “Of course you can, whatever you decide to do…” After a moment of silence, he softly spoke up, with a genuine smile looking at the girl before pushing himself off his car and glancing to the side just to see if Elodie was coming, before adding, “Just don’t steal my clothes, okay?”

Theo raised his brow as she teased him with young Johnny depp, “Don’t worry though. I’m glad it is you, You looked really good up there by the way,” ”Not as good as you do” he said, looking at the girl in the pantsuit.
Theo smiled as she mentioned she preferred being here with him and not have to leave, which was something he agreed with ”so do I” he said with a light smile
”… I know, thank you. I just don’t know what’s up with this. I’m fine, don’t worry about me. This pantsuit is driving me crazy. For some reason it is super irritating and itchy."
She said, giving him a reassuring smile. ”For what it’s worth, you look absolutely breathtaking in it” he said, ”But maybe you should take it off…” he then added, and as much as that sounded like it had intentions behind it, it didn’t, not aware at least… ”I can help you if you want” he suggested

"What’s too much? Tell me about it, Valerie,”
Sadie said, softly putting her hand on Valerie’s shoulder. Valerie has never been one to break in front of others and tell them her problems, almost nobody has ever seen her cry, well, at least until the funeral of undead candice. She has always kept on a strong face, hiding her problems like her life was perfect when every day was actually painful in it’s own way. But now? Now Valerie felt vulnerable, and honestly didn’t care who saw her and what they thought, she didn’t care about letting people, or Sadie in this case, see her like that.
”It’s not just one thing” she said quietly looking out the window ”Its so many things together. But right now, I wish… I wish I just couldn’t feel.” she said ”That I wouldn’t be able to let anyone in my heart so they won’t be able to break it” she then added with a sigh ”I don’t know why I’m crying like this… it’s just… I don’t know” she shook her head

Elodie May DeLoughrey

The moment they both got out and Riker took off his coat, Elodie crossed her arms shyly looking down at the ground. Not like she was leaning against his bare chest or running her hand up his stomach earlier… It was different when she didn’t have a little control over the situation, so she naturally became more reserved until he mentioned leaving marks on her neck. “Riiiker…” she finally looked up at him, jokingly whining but having a grin on her face. Her hand immediately moved up to her neck, covering those marks. “Remind me not to let you do that next time… okay? I’m going to meet my family soon,” she added, laughing lightly as she just stood there watching him run away from her and then shook her head before she continued walking. Little marks didn’t bother her, she just didn’t want her family to see them and know what she’d been doing… it was embarrassing. She didn’t want to explain anything, she wouldn’t even know what to say and she really didn’t want her brothers to tease her… after asking way too many questions like protective brothers would do.

As she reached Riker and his car, the smile on her face faltered seeing what he was holding… or standing behind. It was obvious what it was and it didn’t need the wrapping but that only made it more adorable. The smile on her face didn’t falter because she didn’t like it, no, quite the opposite - she loved it. And she wasn’t surprised he went for that but she really loved it. “Ohh, what is that??” Elodie jokingly but quietly spoke up, slowly walking up to him as her smile grew again. With that smile, she stood there for a few seconds, looking between him and the gift before shyly adding, “I’m not mad,” and starting to unwrap it. The moment she saw what he did for her, a yellow heart and her initials, she stopped, letting her hands fall down. So once again she was standing in front of her gift, speechless but taking the towel from him and slowly starting to blot her wet hair. She was surprised. She could see what he got her but she didn’t expect anything like… that.

“I…” whispering, she finally looked at him, leaving the towel on top of his car before getting on her tippy toes and tightly wrapping her arms around his neck. She stayed like that for a moment, with her arms around him before slowly pulling away, letting her hand slide down to his chest before saying “It’s perfect… thank you,” now looking up at him with a sweet smile.

A soft smile met her cheeks when he kissed her forehead - though Jess couldn’t help but notice the small flutter in her chest as he did that, at the realization of the proximity of their bodies at the moment; however, she ignored it. Friends. That’s what she had asked for and honestly, it was what she wanted… right? Yes… for sure… that was it… of course… maybe . All Jessica knew was she felt happy… at least momentary happiness that blocked off the previous feeling of helplessness that she felt with the news that Anna Pierce had hurt her friends… again. There was simply something about being near Dorian that had that effect on her; when they weren’t at each other’s throats. And a big part of her knew she needed this; a friend who she could rely on - the pain of what Andy had done still aching her heart though she knew he did what she wanted him to do. What she would have always wanted him to do.

All she knew was that right now, she wanted to be the person she was four years ago with Dorian and part of her could see it happening. Though part of her told her that was a fantasy. Though she could only hope that part of her was wrong. Closing her eyes and mentally capturing this moment; a smile met her lips again as he told her that he hoped she did better than Rhianna. “I’m sorry Dori but don’t you dare come at my girl Rihanna or you’re going to have to go through me and I don’t think you could handle that” she smiled - running her hands through her, currently, still damp hair. She missed this - their back and forth quips about god knows what. It did truly feel like home and she missed it. “Good; because I throw a hell of a punch,” Jess smiled as he agreed not to call her four - though only shrugged with his sentiment of breaking into his house. “You’re right - I don’t really need your permission but I thought it was better than just breaking into your room and going through your search history. I’m wondering how four years have changed that,” she grinned, “And yes; from the last time I was in your house - your fridge needs a redecoration… also that family portrait that stares at you with its beady eyes when you walk in also needs to go,”

“Just don’t steal my clothes, okay?”

Shaking her head, Jessica shrugged as she walked away backward. “Just don’t eat my slice of the cake okay - and then I’ll think about it,” she smiled before turning around and walking further down the row of cars. She felt… lighter, in a strange way. Though still weighted down by what Anna had done… the two emotions contrasted each other in her heart and mind. And perhaps her happiness with Dori was almost serving as a distraction for the previous. Though caught in her own thoughts, she hadn’t expected her hand to be held and pulled back towards someone. It took Jess a second to realize who it was though the second she did, a sigh left her lips. She wasn’t… mad at Kai… just frustrated with him. And if there was one day she didn’t want to continue this conversation - it was probably today.

“Kai…” Jess sighed, closing her eyes trying to ignore the feeling of his hand on hers. “I thought we had this conversation already or was setting you up on a date with someone else not clear enough… I just honestly don’t have it in me to say it again,” she muttered.

He was not having a good day. If that wasn’t clear by the p!ssed off expression on his features - more so than usual - it should be clear by the fact that anyone who dare talk to Daniel ended up running away, crying, or screaming. Not to mention; any person he chose to talk to himself. Henry Mason was simply a pawn in his game; showing him the photo of his pageant days and sending it to his friends and family was simply a ploy to make him feel better. Make him feel in control of something he clearly wasn’t in control of. He couldn’t fix the mistake he made with Delilah. What he could do was control everything else around him; rather control what he did to them. This was the thought that met his mind as he saw Henry running away to his ex-girlfriend begging her to not look at her phone. Though; with a roll of his eyes - he trudged forward. He simply wanted to get to his car and go to someplace where he wasn’t stuck in a room of idiots.

Though his day simply wasn’t in his favor when he felt someone run into his back. “For fcks sake” Dan yelled, turning around to face the perpetrator. He wasn’t in the mood; he was on the opposite side of the spectrum of where a calm person should be. He was blazing. And Reina running into him in that moment, albeit unintentionally, was something she would regret. Sure; perhaps Daniel had felt bad for the girl earlier. Pity - remorse… maybe even a speck of intrigue. Bur right now all he felt was anger; one that blinded him from what he was doing - who he was hurting. “Are you going to watch where you’re going or is it an issue when you’re not bloody wearing your glasses? For the love of…” Dan groaned, massaging his eyes as he felt annoyed by the girl. “HEY EVERYONE,” Daniel yelled around at the crowd, “Who here actually gives a sh!t if Reina Monroe wears glasses or not? No one. Wow, shocker,” Dan stated to the crowd before looking back at her. “No one cares but you Reina so maybe, just maybe - next time wear your fcking glasses and don’t run into people who can ruin your life…” he muttered - seething from his whole body. It wasn’t Reina he was mad at. No part of him knew the only person Daniel Parker hated was himself. But as of this moment; all he wanted to do was make himself feel a little less empty inside. “You know what… will ruin,” Dan continued, nearing her ear as he whispered that - removing his phone and typing a text in before hitting send.

As before; everyone’s phone went off at once - indicative of a text message being sent to the entire student body at the same time. “Good luck with that, Reina dear,” Dan smiled, “and next time; do watch where you’re going. It can bring you into a lot of trouble,” he finished - walking away from her as her eyes glued to her cellphone - as did everyone else - before they looked towards her.

Dan's Message to the Student Body

There’s more than one reason that Reina Monroe is the black sheep of her family. I mean, come on, have you seen her bubbly, head-cheerleader sister? And then you have little ol’ Reina Monroe that barely anyone knows exists. Want to know a secret? Maybe the reason she barely fits into the crowd is the fact that Reina Monroe doesn’t even know what crowd she belongs to. Yep - Reina isn’t a girl at all… or a boy… nope. Did I confuse you yet? Trust me Reina has probably been asking that question all her life - aren’t I right?

Sorry to blow the secret that you were born and still are intersex, love. Guess your parents really didn’t want another son that they decided to raise you as a daughter… seems like a mistake since you can barely do that right. I can’t help but wonder why the lottery money your family won hasn’t helped correct that little mistake yet… or did you waste all of that money already? On that note; Sadie, sweetie, did you tell everyone where you got that money from in the first place? Or is asking me to rig the lottery just something you don’t tell your family during dinner? Oops - let that one out of the bag too… maybe you should tell your sister to be more careful. And Reina, watch where you’re going next time.

One by one, layers of clothing hit the floor around the pair. His jacket, her shirt, then his. Her mind was nowhere aside from in that moment with him. That is, except for the momentary distraction of the sprinkler system going off. She laughed at his comment about what he had jokingly said about the place being flooded before, though, just as they had said, it did not stop them in any way.

“Remind me not to let you do that next time…okay?..”

Ah, what could Riker say? He was a rakish b@stard. “I don’t know if I can do that Elodie,” he smiled looking back at her with a twinkle of mischief in his eyes. Though he did feel slightly bad that she was going to meet her family with that. But what could he say; he couldn’t help himself. But even more than he loved those marks gracing her porcelain skin; he loved the way she smiled when she was happy - something that was immediately present when he stood there with the surf board.

He shrugged when she asked what it was; a playful expression on his lips when he said the next words “Well I should really let you open it; it’s a laptop,” he joked; though as she unwrapped the gift to see the customization; he grinned. “Well now that you’ve went through almost all of the lessons; I thought it was about time you had your own board,” he added; leaning it against his car as he grabbed a towel for himself and wiped his body. His smile, however, only grew when she wrapped her arms around his neck and simply stayed close to him. “I’m glad you like it… I’ll keep it with me since I don’t think your brothers car is equipped to hold a surfboard,” he revealed. “Plus you’re going to need it tomorrow when I wake you up early to go give it a whirl,” he explained - putting the board back on top of his car as he turned back towards her. “I know you probably have to go soon because I definitely see your brother giving me a look telling me to hurry the hell up but I would so rather steal you away right now,” Riker laughed - though with that he grabbed a smaller present out of his car and motioned towards Dorian who was leaning against his car. Similar to Elo’s present, Riker hadn’t gone through much of an effort to hide the shape of the gift - giving it away that it was a soccer ball. “Heads up,” he yelled towards the man - throwing the ball in his direction before walking up towards him with Elo. “Happy birthday dude; bet you can’t guess what’s in there,” Riker smiled at the soccer ball signed by Dorian’s favorite player. “Hint; it’s not a basketball,” he continued with a laugh. “Anyways, I wasn’t lying when I said I won’t be able to protect you when all those girls over there…” Riker started - pointing towards the wet models, “see your post and realize you are standing right over here,” he finished, “so you may wanna go for that fabulous meal that I wasn’t invited to before they catch on,”

After his conversation with Elodie, telling her his secret, she went to model, and Kai tried to think of how to fix things with Jess. Though, there were some eventful interruptions, one being the return of one Candice Clarke, who had never actually died. Though Kai had only met the girl once, knowing her mother better than he actually knew her, he had noticed how unusual Daniel’s speech had been at her funeral. Kai had known it was off, and may have had certain suspicions cross his mind, but he never had the proof to say what the truth actually was. Then, it was afterwards that someone set off the sprinklers, which lead nearly everyone, including Kai, out of the building. Out there was where he found Jessica, grabbing her hand and pulling her towards him slightly to get her to talk to him. Though, when she saw it was him, she tried to make him just give up, mentioning the girl and that they had already talked. If she didn’t want to say anything, fine, but he needed her to give him five minutes of hearing him out. “I don’t want a date with some other girl. I want to go out with you, if you’ll give me the chance. You’re not like anybody else I know, Jess. Nothing is what I expect and I don’t know how to be when I’m around you, so I screwed up. I said what I said, but I didn’t mean it the way it sounded. I’m sorry. I’m sorry about what I said, and about every other way I’ve messed up. There are certain things in my life that I can’t tell you. If I could tell you I would, but I can’t talk about it with anyone because of my family. I’m just trying to keep my siblings from getting hurt and having to deal with all the s**t I’ve had to. Please, just give me the chance to at least try to let you know more, and make up for my mistakes.” He couldn’t tell her everything, not with details and full explanations, but he was telling her the truth, and he would continue to tell her as much of the truth as he could.

"I never wanted more. I just wanted you.”

Jordan’s eyes fluttered at the statement, his body automatically reacting to her own; the way she felt against him, the way her body smelled, everything was nostalgic… in the best way possible. And could anyone blame him if he said that his heart fluttered at her words? That was all he ever wanted… all he still wanted but he could never have. I love you. He wanted to say those three words so bad that it physically hurt. Hell, it physically hurt for him to stand there and basically tell her the opposite.

He wanted to stop her when she started going on about how she wasn’t worth it. And he would have - hell he would have spent the next three hours telling her how beautiful and amazing she was… until he heard her words. “…It’s senior year and I’m pregnant”. His heart fell as he looked at the girl in front of him. She looked… smaller than before - than he had ever seen her. Scared. And for once, Jordan Williams didn’t know what to do… what to feel… god… what to say. He only stood there; frozen as he took in the news - repeating it in his head over and over again. “Jez I…” Jordan started - his mind running as he looked at the girl in front of him. “Are you okay?” he whispered after a long time of not speaking - walking back towards her and bringing his hand to her cheek. “Listen to me…” he begin. “You’re the furthest thing from a worthless screwup Jezebel Parker - you are the greatest thing to have ever walked into my life and to so many others. That child, if you decide to keep it, will have the best damn mother in the world and nothing can change that. And if there is one thing I’m certain of; you’re nothing like your mother. You’re generous. Jezebel, you have a heart of gold - one that let you find someone you knew sleeping on a bench and bringing him home because you wanted him to be safe. I wouldn’t be here without you Jezebel. You’re my light in the darkness… you always have been,” he finally uttered. With that Jordan pulled the girl in for a hug for a long time… not saying anything. Though when he pulled away he gave her a sad smile. “Is it Mikel?” Jordan asked. “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to I just… want to make sure he’s here for you… and I want you to know that no matter what I did… I’ll be here for you too… if you forgive me,”

“That’s not going to happen, Candice, it won’t.”

She appreciated her sisters words… but something in the bottom of her heart still ached at the thought of Lily-Ann stealing that away from her too. For years Lily-Ann had stolen her life; but she wasn’t going to let her mother steal her baby’s life too. “Thank… thank you,” Candice sighed after a few moments. She didn’t know what to think but for some reason she felt comforted by Delilah’s words - the girl’s I promise sticking in her head. She wanted to see him… hold him… something she had never gotten to do when the baby was pronounced dead to her. Though she had seen him on face time… all she could think about was holding the baby and never letting go.

She was almost glad the subject had changed… well until she had realized exactly what it had changed to. Delilah’s innocent father. What do you say to that? To someone’s family member being wrongfully imprisoned for years. A frown met her lips when Delilah revealed she didn’t know; but could she blame her. It seemed as if Delilah had only just found out about his innocence and Candice knew that for years - she wanted nothing to do with him; assuming his guilt. “Well… maybe we should go see if he ca-” Candice started; though before she could finish the sentiment, the sprinklers went off in the room. “Sh!t we should go outside…” C sighed - making her way towards the door but before she opened it, she turned towards her sister. “We should find out if he can have visitors… he deserves to see you Delilah…” Candice explained. “He’s your father and we’ve both known with all the letters he used to send you… still sends you? that he loves you more than anything else.” Candice explained - wanting to get that out before they were once again out in a public location with everyone else.

Jessica… almost couldn’t meet his eyes as she said her words. For years Jessica had been getting into relationships that were doomed to fail. Relationships that wouldn’t last more than a date or two - simple fun and when they got too close… she ended it. Love simply wasn’t in Jessica’s cards and it was for this very reason - that she feared Anna hurting them. That… she feared that Anna would hurt heragain. And her heart just… couldn’t take any more. So yes; Jess got into fruitless relationships. Momentary fun with people she would never see again. A few stolen kisses but nothing more than that. And maybe… just maybe that was the intention when she started dating Kai. They were just so… very different that part of her simply believed they were destined to fail. But then how had Kai over the span of a few months made this part so hard. Made her enjoy his presence so much that it hurt to do this part. It never hurt. It wasn’t supposed to. Maybe she had made a mistake once or twice… Celine coming to mind. But she had done what she always did; pushed herself away.

As he spoke; her mind and heart were already filled with a flurry of emotions. Of Anna… Dorian… everything simply made it all the more confusing and Kai wasn’t helping with that. Because as much as she wouldn’t admit it out loud; she liked him more than the simple one date type of fun. A soft sigh left her lips when he told her there were things in his life that he couldn’t tell her about… and she understood that. Hell, that was perhaps the first thing she understood about him in the entire length of their relationship. Everything with Kai had almost felt like they were out of step before - as if he wasn’t being fully himself but she couldn’t sense that right now. She sensed sincerity… for perhaps the first time. She respected his want to protect his family and maybe… maybe even him asking her to give him another chance reminded her of the vulnerability she had felt moments earlier when she had asked for the same thing from Dorian.

So for a long time… or at least it felt like a long time… she stood there simply thinking. Questioning if she was making a mistake… how she could take this. But the one thing she couldn’t lie about was how she felt around him. “Kai…” Jess muttered, taking a deep breath as she closed her eyes. “I don’t… usually do second chances… I don’t. I’m the type of person that likes to surround herself with people who don’t make them question every freaking move they make but…” she started, walking closer to him as she wrapped her arms around his neck. “This one time, I’ll make an exception… mostly because you said you’d let me take you to eat street food and you complained for hours last time so this might be my only chance to do so,” she smiled softly. Though she meant it. Jessica understood mistakes but she also understood the saying fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. So the question was… was she making the right choice?

The door opened with a bang and a firefighter stood at the door looking at the two naked people in the room ”Sh!t” Andy muttered in surprise and and hid the girl behind him, privacy?. And then looked down remembering he himself was also naked, and put his hands over his penis hiding it
’get out of here kids’ they said with a partly annoyed face, stupid teenagers they sighed as they thought to themselves. ’when rain starts pouring at you from a closed ceiling you evacuate the building unless you want to be trapped in a fire’ they added before leaving ’now go. Out.’
”Well sh!t” Andy said as he turned back to face the girl before bursting out laughing ”Lets get out of here” he said and picked up both of their clothes, handing her her own.

Seeing Valerie in the state she was in, Sadie could almost feel the pain that she did. No, she knew she could never understand it, but she had soon begun to feel the sadness, and annoyance towards whoever had caused this. She listened as Valerie told her there were so many different things that had happened to cause this. She also to feel guilty that she hadn’t been there as a friend that much in the past, enough to be aware that she had stuff going on. “I’m sorry,” Sadie said, quietly, wishing that she knew the thing to say that would help.

“But it is okay to cry like this,” She replied, knowing that Valerie wasn’t someone to let her true emotions show all the time, which can sometimes make the situation even worse. As Valerie was talking, the sound of two different text tones went off simultaneously. Despite it being hard to ignore due to it interrupting her words, Sadie’s eyes stayed fixed on Valerie, not wanting to let whatever the message said distract her from this.

“I’m sorry, but it is okay to cry like this,”
Sadie said and the sound of a text came from both their phones at the same time, so even though Sadie didn’t look, Valerie did because the phone was rested on her leg and the screen lit up catching her attention.
Valerie frowned and picked up her phone unlocking it while wiping her tears, ”You might need to see that” she said in a lowkey worried tone to her voice. It was a text from Daniel to everyone, exposing both Reina and Sadie in things that were kept secret. As if she wasn’t disappointed enough with the Parker-Pierce family today, this was really just another thing added to the pile. ”for fcuks sake Daniel” she muttered quietly and sniffled while she turned to face Sadie ”Are you okay?” she asked, still very flustered and overwhelmed with her emotions, but trying to be there for her friend anyway

It was clear that Candice couldn’t find the right words to respond, which Delilah had expected, she wouldn’t have known what to say. She didn’t when she had found out. Visiting him was something that scared Delilah. Maybe part of her was still seeing him as the guilty person who had left her alone, and she was too stubborn to admit being wrong for ten years. Or part of her was worried that he would hate her after the years of shutting him down and leaving his letters unopened. On top of all that was the debate on whether or not she would be allowed to see him, whether or not Daniel’s parents went as far as to prevent him from seeing people, she didn’t know. She knew that over the years there had been one or two charges added to the original one, which probably would have decreased the chances of him being allowed visitors.

She finally looked up when Candice’s words were interrupted by the sprinklers going off, immediately tensing her shoulders as the water fell on both of them. Delilah was already up as Candice had suggested going outside, walking towards the door where Candice was stood in front of her, telling her she should find out if he can have visitors.

Squinting to see her through the sprinkles, she realised that Candice had remembered more about her than she had thought. She knew her father, she knew he had been in prison, she knew about the letters. Because Candice was friends with the person Delilah was before she had started pretending. Despite it being years since they had spoken, Candice knew her better than anyone else. “Yeah, I know…” Delilah replied, trailing off. Then she cleared her throat, “You- You’re right,” She said, with a sense of defeat in her voice at the fact she was agreeing with her. Again. “But… there’s nothing I can do if he’s not allowed visitors,” She said, becoming slightly worried of that being a possibility.

As they left the building, her phone went off, along with Candice’s. She looked down to see a text from Daniel that he had sent to the whole school. “What the f^ck?” Delilah exclaimed before she could stop herself, reading what it had said. It wasn’t out of judgement or disgust towards the victims of the text, possibly for the first time ever. But it was out of anger, how quickly he had gone back to ruining people again.

After a moment of hesitation deciding whether or not to open her phone, Valerie unlocked and read the text that had been sent to everyone while Sadie tried to read her face, though failing to pick up any hints it may be giving. A pit formed in her stomach as, after a while of scanning her phone, Valerie finally turned to her, Sadie’s paranoia and concern causing a million thoughts to rush through at once. Her furrowed brows soon turned to raised ones as she slowly looked down at her own phone to see what Valerie was referring to.

Sh^t.Her eyes remained looking down at her phone, reading and then rereading the text. After realising that the entire student body had also read this, Sadie had to read it again, in hopes that she will look to see something completely different in the message. But, no. Daniel Parker had sent out a text, all about Reina and her. Something she had kept a secret not only from everyone at the school but Reina too. Sadie was surprised, to say the least. She hadn’t felt immune to the secret-exposing, not in the slightest, she had just expected there to be reasonings for them happening. Sadie hadn’t done anything to aggravate them into doing this, well at least she thought she didn’t.

Though when reading the text, her sole focus was on Reina, and what was said about her. The one thing that Sadie always worried about getting out. She couldn’t imagine how she could be feeling right now, but Sadie’s mind automatically went to the worst possibilities. The sound of Valerie’s voice became distorted and lost within her anxieties, and it took her a little over a moment before finally looking up. “What? Oh, sorry, I-” She stopped herself as she began to remember why she was in here. Valerie was upset. As worried as she was, Sadie still needed to be there for Valerie. “Yeah, yeah… what about you, though?” She asked, her eyebrows raised in concern.
