“Plus you’re going to need it tomorrow when I wake you up early to go give it a whirl.”
“Good luck with that when you don’t have a phone,” with a smile that hasn’t left her lips for a while, she whispered in an attempt to tease him as she took a step back, watching him put the board back on top of his car. Although her eyes slowly roamed his body, she quickly looked up to met his as soon as he turned back to face her. “I can’t wait,” she quickly and sweetly added to that, now looking to the side where she spotted her brother waiting for her. To be honest, she’d also prefer Riker stealing her away but family dinner is family dinner. Just don’t tell him that, okay? “You can try,” chuckling at both what he said and the gift he had for Dorian, she started following him with slow steps.
Dorian didn’t wait for the two of them to approach; as soon as Jess walked away he looked around hoping to spot Elodie and leave. Maybe he was really hungry or maybe he didn’t want to deal with mad students coming after him for posting what he did. That was the last thing he wanted to do. And luckily it wasn’t hard to find her and it wasn’t hard to keep a smile on when he saw what she was doing, who she was with. If there was anyone he didn’t mind seeing her with it was with Riker, mostly because he knew the guy, knew he was a good guy. “What? Not a basketball? That was my first guess,” laughing, he caught the ball and immediately unwrapped it, revealing a soccer ball signed by his favorite player. “You did not,” looking up at the guy, Dorian slightly shook his head in disbelief, a grin on his face. “Wow… thank you… And yeah, we better go, before someone attacks me,” looking at Elodie with a sigh, he walked over to his side of the car, opening the door. “Sorry, family only,” Dorian added with a playful smile on before getting in.
“Well, you heard him,” watching her brother get in the car, she quietly said, smiling once she looked back at Riker. “But I’ll see you in the morning,” adding, she gently kissed his cheek before reaching for the door handle, letting her gaze lower and this time not hiding it. “Put on something, by the way.”
Dorian could see the exact moment Davina took one slice of the cake, saving it for Jessica and just as he promised, he didn’t say anything. Instead, when they finished dinner, he grabbed another one, hiding it from his mother like she was hiding it from him. If only she knew what his plans for the rest of the night were… So the moment they arrived home, he wanted to rush to his room… To talk to Jessica. It felt weird. It was weird. It’s been years since the last time he got home and she was in his room, waiting for him. And he thought he’d never experience that again, but here they were… Well, almost, if he didn’t hear his mother calling out his name from the kitchen and asking “Did you do grocery shopping today?”, to which he happily replied with yes. Maybe that was a mistake because she soon called him back downstairs to take something that was “his”. That being flavored condoms he didn’t buy. Of course she would do something like that. Without saying a word, Dorian grabbed them with an awkward smile, rushing upstairs again.
“Thank you, I needed this,” was the first thing he mumbled when he entered his room, throwing the box on the table before gently putting down the slice of cake. “I wanted to be generous and you do this to me?” Laughing to himself, he slowly looked towards the bed where Jessica was lying, a soft smile appearing on his face at that moment. “You have two slices of cake… but here is just one because I don’t know where Davina put the other one,” with gentle words, he walked over to her but stopped the moment he saw she was tipsy… or just seemed like she was. “Are you okay?”
The moment they arrived back home, Elodie went up to her room, preparing for a long, needed shower. Now that she couldn’t spend another night facetiming Riker, she could finally go to bed and get rest… not like she’d be complaining if that wasn’t the case. She got used to that. It was almost like a night routine she just couldn’t miss, a thing before bed that would guarantee her a good night’s sleep. That was her plan, until she heard a strange sound, coming from her window.
Hesitantly walking towards it, it didn’t take her long to realize what was actually happening. It immediately brought a grin to her face as she opened her window and leaned over it. “Are you serious?” So there she was, laughing at the guy throwing rocks at her windows, late at night. That wasn’t something she thought she’d experience or thought someone would do… but it did make her happy. “You know we have a door? You used it not so long ago… just go.” Adding through a laugh, she subtly shook her head before turning around to leave her room and go downstairs. At this point her parents were already in their bedroom so she didn’t have to worry about that, worry about explaining anything. “Welcome, please do come in,” opened the front door, she greeted him with a cheeky smile.
