The… well quite frankly never-ending ceremony finally ended after Kai was bloody LATE to the whole thing. Let’s just say; Daniel wasn’t happy and he had a feeling it had something to do with Jess but wasn’t even able to go look for her since the idiotic staff wouldn’t let him leave. For fcks sake. Either way… the man had finally made his way down the aisle, the princess had come, and the I do’s had taken place. And finally; Dan was able to get up and go look for Jessica… though… the issue? The Castle was bloody huge and it was impossible to know if she was even still here or if she had left. Though after about 20 minutes of searching both on foot and on his phone which revealed that she was in a hotel… though he wasn’t sure how accurate it was since the device said she had been in a hotel for the past 5 hours meaning she’d probably left it there. Bloody Jess.

In any case… Dan went with the odds; leaving her a message to text him as soon as she got back and made his way into the ballroom for the reception. Royals were dancing in the hall; and the entire room was filled with a happy atmosphere. Though… Dan could see it. Looking towards where Kai was sitting with the Royal Family - no matter what facade he put on his features it was clear the man was unhappy and was it bad to say that it made Daniel glad?

In any case; catching the eye of yet another man that Dan gravely unliked - Daniel made his way over to him, taking a seat next to the empty chair. “Dorian DeLoughry… the black sheep of the DeLoughry family, how are you doing this fine evening to probably the first and last ever royal event you’ll be invited to?” Dan asked; starting with pleasantries… or his version of pleasantries. Though Dan didn’t come here with no reason… honestly; he was a waste of breath otherwise.

“I saw you and Delilah together earlier and I really just have to say; out of the hundreds of students that go to this school - do you have to hit on the ones I consider friends? Like honestly. Go after anyone else for fcks sake.” Dan stated. He knew that he and Delilah weren’t on the best of terms; but at the same time, he still felt this inherent need to protect her. “Capiche, unwanted DeLoughry?”

Ruby stood off to the side, playing with her lighter. She knew perfectly well that she really shouldn’t be, but the flickering of the fire calmed her nerves. Why was she nervous? She was sitting in a room of people she didn’t know, at a wedding, no less. She just felt downright awkward. Due to being nervous, her hands were shaking quite a bit. She was leaning on a wall near some curtains, and her shaking meant she wasn’t in control of the lighter. Suddenly, her hand slipped, and the curtains caught fire. Ruby froze, attempting to put the fire out, but to no avail. She gulped, before backing away. “FIRE!” She screamed, bolting for the exit.

Dorian DeLoughrey

If you ask Dorian, this was one good day. A smile couldn’t leave his lips as he was sitting at one of the tables, watching happy people dancing, having fun… all but one. It wasn’t a secret he was happy to see that, happy to see things ended the way they should’ve and if he could leave, if it wasn’t for Elodie, he’d leave a long time ago. Not only was he wasting his time but he was soon to be bothered by the only person he disliked as much as Kai.

“I’m doing fine, thank you for asking,” avoiding looking at Daniel, Dorian leaned back in his chair, playing with the glass that was on the table while trying to keep a smile on his face. That was hard to do around him, impossible, but not something he wanted anyway. At first he didn’t even listen to him, he’s heard enough from him to know whatever he was saying wasn’t important, that it was just a way to provoke him for whatever reason. But hearing Daniel mentioning Delilah caught his attention… in a not so good way. What was up with him and telling Dorian who he could or could not hit on? Which he wasn’t even doing. It was just getting old, getting tiring listening to the same threats over and over again. “Huh?” Pretending like he didn’t hear his words, he looked at Dan with almost a confused expression. “Can you repeat that? I’m afraid I didn’t understand. Or…” With a sarcastic smile, Dorian looked down at the glass that was in front of him before gently pushing it, letting it fall and spill all over the guy sitting next to him. “Go take care of that,” he simply continued, acting like he didn’t do anything… or at least not something bad. There were two options there - Dan just walking away, which Dorian wasn’t expecting, or Dan continuing his neverending insults. Maybe trying to get him kicked out which Dorian wouldn’t mind, at all.

“I’m doing fine, thank you for asking,”

“I wasn’t really,” Dan said nonchalantly. At the very least; Dan was honest. Did he give two sh!ts about Dorian? No, he didn’t even give one. What he did care about was Dorian messing up his last bloody two weeks at this school. Ah… what a thought that was. Two more weeks and he’d finally be done with Dorian DeLoughry for good. Thank the heavens. Trust him; Dan was ready to never see that man ever again. Just one bloody conversation to get through and two weeks.

"Huh?

Dan couldn’t help but roll his eyes. It was automatic. “Don’t play me DeLoughry; we both know you at least have two remaining brain cells to understand what the hell I’m saying,” Dan continued. “You know you are legitimately the epitome of idio…” Though Daniel couldn’t finish even what he was saying before he felt something cold meet his body; causing him to automatically stand up in an attempt of letting the liquid drop on the floor instead of seeping all over his body. Daniel could feel the anger within him rising in an instant. “You bloody PIECE OF SH!T” Dan screeched; grabbing a napkin and attempting to dry the suit. “This suit probably costs more than your family’s net worth combined,” Dan sighed; looking at the ruined one-of-a-kind suit Valentino had shipped over to him.

Daniel had a shred of dignity left, however; quieting his voice down to bearly above a whisper as he reached Dorian’s ear. “Two fcking weeks. That’s all you had to do Dorian. Behave for two weeks. Do you really not fcking know how to follow instructions?” Dan asked. Though before he could mutter his impending threat; he heard someone scream fire and his gaze moved over to the shout; seeing a curtain quickly catch fire. “You have to be bloody kidding me,” Dan groaned looking at Dorian with annoyance almost as if he himself had caused the fire. “Get you ass up, DeLoughry and move. We’re taking this bloody sh!t outside,”

Though the Royal Wedding had a strict ‘phones switched off’ policy, Delilah had to bend the rules for the sake of hearing whether or not her father was going to be okay. And, as she had partially expected, while the exchanging of vows was taking place, she could feel her phone in her pocket silently buzzing, thankfully being in the back row meant she could leave without drawing too much attention. So, as lovely as the wedding between two strangers was, Delilah had to leave her seat and go into a nearby hallway, since the exits had been closed off to prevent any unwanted visitors.

Delilah advanced further into the hallway, out of earshot from everyone watching the wedding. Her phone, still ringing, she pulled out and saw the call being from the County Jail. Though it had been all she was thinking about since the first call, Delilah was still scared about answering this one. No, not scared. She didn’t get scared, no. Just, slightly apprehensive. About the fact that the call would literally be life or death. Her shaky hands accepted the call, placing the phone to her ear as the caller began to talk through, verifying her identity and then relaying the events of the last 24 hours back to her. An exhale that lifted weight off her shoulders came when her only question was answered. She closed her eyes and leaned against the wall in relief that it was okay. The person she hated for a decade, whom was still a stranger to her, was someone she couldn’t have been able to lose.

After hanging up the phone, Delilah took her time rejoining the audience, now having even less interest in it than before. Though as she got closer, a reddish glow became visible, and the sound of chairs hitting the ground and people running around echoed in the hallway. By the time she made it into the hall, there was no one to be found, the room engulfed in flames. The chairs they were sat at, the alter the pair got married at, all burning to ashes as the uncontrollable fire spread.

Her eyes drew to the exit, that was now wide open where she assumed everyone else had disappeared to. However while making her way towards it, the ceiling collapsed in on itself, blocking the sight of daylight and therefore her way out, and it only took a slight glance behind her to realise the way she came wasn’t going to be an ideal route back out. Panic, that she had held in when answering the phone call and had tried to when first seeing the fire, finally slipped out as she tried to push away the fallen debris and get out of the castle.

Ketziah Drake

How does one even begin to predict that when they wake up in the morning, that the day ahead of them would change their life? That the day would be one of the most important. Ketziah sure couldn’t have expected it. She wasn’t sure what to expect when Andy had told her that he wasn’t going to say whatever it was that he had in mind, let alone where he was leading her, or why. Ketziah followed his lead, and they soon found themselves alone in a beautiful grand garden before he let go of her hand to turn and face her. “Alright…?” Ketziah said, slightly unsure what was going on, especially when he even said he was nervous. That’s one thing that wasn’t normal. She’d never known Andy to really get nervous, not nervous enough where it showed at all, let alone this nervous. A smile grew as he began by telling her he loved her, and that he couldn’t imagine a life without her. However, the chances were, that he would have to continue on with his life without her. Soon after her health had started getting bad, she accepted what her fate would likely be, but since she had come home, it had become so much harder to accept the idea. She had her brother and friends, who she had thought about prior, but then there was Andy. Andy, their child, the two of them made Ketziah hope more by the day that she still had a long life ahead of her. At what point as Andy spoke it clicked in Ketziah’s mind what was going on, she couldn’t have been able to say if she tried, but by the time he was down on one knee in front of her, she was truly stunned. They were once just close friends, but then came more. They had become so much more. Now there they were, and he was asking her to marry him. She finally broke eye contact for just a moment, to the ring box with the ring inside, purple, just like he knew was her favorite. Her eyes moved back to his as her smile grew wide. “Yes, of course I’ll marry you. There’s nothing I’d like more.” That morning, Ketziah woke up expecting nothing more than to be a guest at a royal wedding, not even imagining the possibility that the next time she would be at a wedding, it could be her own. She was going to marry the guy she loved, the one who had become most important person in her life. They would be a family, the three of them.

Maverick Weston

Maverick honestly didn’t think about anything else as him and Yara kissed. He didn’t think about Dom in that moment. Dom, who Maverick was there with as his date, for their first time actually as anything remotely official. His mind had only been on Yara, so he hadn’t even noticed Dom when he saw them kissing. When Yara finally pulled away, looking up at him, all he could really do was look back at her, with a sense of shock, trying to process that they actually just kissed. As she began to speak, it was clear that she was just as shocked and confused about what just happened as he was. “I… you…?” What could he really have done other than kiss her back, it was something he had wanted to do for so many years, and he could never say that his crush on her ever fully went away. “You couldn’t ruin everything.” He was barely able to process it, but one thing he did know, was that there was no way she could ruin things with him, especially not because of that. “I… you kissed me?” He had no idea what could have actually made her kiss him. All he knew was that he was her friend. He had been her friend for years, and she had never shown any indication of wanting anything other that.

“You bloody PIECE OF SH!T”
Laugh, that’s all he could do, watching the anger within Daniel rising. It was entertaining, Dorian almost felt proud of himself. Did he regret accidentally doing that? Of course not, he’d do it again just to see that reacting again, to feel what he was feeling now. At this point he just didn’t care anymore, as Daniel said, they only had two more weeks. Two weeks and he won’t have to see him almost every single day.

But as much as he didn’t care, as tired as he was getting of his annoying threats and this act of being above them all, that same act could quickly get on his nerves. He could feel his fist flinching at every word, a smile he forced faltering. Who was Dan to tell him to behave? To give him instructions? He was the one that had to learn how to behave and as much as Dorian wanted to defend himself, hearing someone scream fire and actually seeing it for himself made him stand up, for a second ignoring Daniel. I know it’s really bad but fire… not great timing.

We’re taking this bloody sh!t outside."
Dan’s words only now getting to him, the anger he felt seconds ago rising. It brought a slight smirk to his lips, watching as people were in a rush to get to safety. “We are?” With that same expression, he took a step closer to Dan before walking past him and purposely bumping him with his shoulder. “Ok, great,” last thing he said as he attempted to walk outside, only turning back when he was out in the open, a wide smile on his lips like he was waiting for this his whole life. And in a way he was. “Go on then,” laughing, he casually placed his hands in his pockets, waiting for Daniel to make the first move. “You want to embarrass yourself? Be my guest.”

Marie had had just settled into her seat, waiting for the wedding to start, when there was a scream. Marie shot up, looking around in horror. She noticed the curtains were engulfed in flames. She swore in Norwegian, panicking. Completely disregarding her own safety, she looked around for Zion. “Zion?! Where are you?!” She yelled.

Dorian DeLoughry’s laughter only served to anger Daniel more. He didn’t know what it was. Perhaps the perceived Alpha Male persona that Dorian had when in reality he was a tiny little puppy. Out of everyone in school - Dorian DeLoughry was the person that Daniel least respected. There was no place for respect; he was simply a school jock who screwed girls left and right. Why the hell Jessica became friends with the idiot - who the hell would know? He never thought Jess was the kind to fall under idiotic charms but apparently… well… just look at Dorian. Dan was partly glad that Jess left that day - especially leaving Dorian. Sure was he annoyed that the girl didn’t even give him notice - yes. But it got her away from that travesty of a man which was a plus in his book.

But one question remained. WHO THE HELL DID HE THINK HE WAS. The sheer audacity of Dorian throwing a drink on him. ON HIM. DANIEL PARKER. That was it. The last bloody straw. Daniel couldn’t take it anymore. After all… if you were dealing with a neanderthal - sometimes, you had to deal with them on their own turf. And Dorian obviously didn’t understand anything besides taking his shirt off and sheer violence.

Daniel followed Dorian as everyone exited the castle… which was honestly a few minutes away from burning down into flames… that’s what you get when you live in a fcking 17-century building. Upgrades people. UPGRADES. In any case; it wasn’t long until the two were outside - Dorian turning back around with that stupid smile for the second time.

“Go on then,”

Daniel remained calm - taking off his suit jacket and throwing it to the side. People around them could sense the tension and had already started moving to form a circle. Dan unbuttoned his white sleeves rolling them up to reveal part of his arm. Perhaps Daniel just didn’t want to get blood on it; what could he say he had some patience.

“You know, Dorian. You are an utter disappointment to every single person you have ever come into contact with. Do you know that?” Daniel stated calmly. Was Daniel egging him on? Perhaps. Did he care? No. A soft laugh escaped his lips at what the man said about embarrassing himself and shrugged. “At least I’m not an embarrassment everywhere else.” Dan retorted, rolling his eyes. “People might not like me, Dorian, but at least I’m respected… whereas for you… people just don’t like you or respect you,” Dan muttered - cracking his knuckles. “Oh and don’t start with the bs list of people who you think like you. Because trust me Dorian, I’ve read their dms. Your whole team even hates you. Maybe not to your face, Captain, but the moment you’re gone. They go off. Why don’t you ask Maverick about the group chat they have without you?” Dan questioned. It was with that statement that Daniel approached the man and got a punch in the man’s stomach. Perhaps it was because he was distracted with what Dan said. But that was the easiest punch of the day. Because the moment Dan got one punch in - he could see the anger growing in Dori.

“Aww did that hurt?” Dan asked blocking one of Dori’s attempts; though perhaps in his distraction, he felt Dori clock him in the chin; blood dripping from his busted lip the moment Dori did. Dan wiped his lip more annoyed by the man than he was before. “I hope you enjoyed that DeLoughry - that’s the only damn hit you’re going to get in,” Dan muttered. And with that; Dan went back towards him, dunking one of Dorian’s own punches and clocked him right back; drawing blood of his own.

“Yes, of course I’ll marry you. There’s nothing I’d like more.”

The smile that found it’s way to Andy’s lips stuck on his face and grew into a grin as the girl in front of him responded to his proposal, not his girlfriend, but his fiancée, his future wife. Andy McAllister had a damn fiancée. You must all be asking yourselves how the hell did that happen? because let’s be honest, a tattooed dark rocker bad boy who disappeared from school because he was sent to juvie doesn’t really seem like the type of person to be in a good steady relationship, not to mention get engaged and have a child. But Andy? Well, Andy wasn’t as bad as people may think… not always, but still.

Andy was in fact the type of guy that when he heard the yes coming out of Ketziah’s mouth, his first reaction other than his unstoppable smile, after putting the ring on her finger, was to get up and kiss her, a tear or two rolling down his cheek. He didn’t know how she did that, but that woman had a massive affect on him, this wasn’t the first time she made him cry, good cry, but Andy rarely ever cried.

”I love you so much” he whispered after breaking the kiss, his hand cupping and stroking her cheek, and the other one holding her own, bringing it up to look at the ring, ”Not what you expected when you woke up in the morning is it?” he joked lightly, turning his gaze, looking at her with loving eyes. ”Guess I had no reason to be nervous” he said with a small smile

The two were there for a while, and Andy was so on cloud 9 that it took him quite a while to notice the smoke and the fire calls coming from the direction of the castle, which they weren’t exactly close to but it was still a mess which they needed to escape. ”Fire?” he looked at the people running off ”Let’s go” If only that magical moment could last longer… but hey, screw that moment, they have each other now, from now until forever.

“I… you kissed me?”

”Kind of hard to miss” she responded, confirming what he already knew ”I… Is that weird?” she asked, biting her lip as anxiety started coming up on her making a part of her think she was making a mistake, like a tiny voice in her head along with the other, stronger voice that told her she wasn’t. She was relieved when he said she couldn’t ruin anything, that was already good, because if there was one thing here Yara didn’t want, was to lose her friend. That and a fire, but we’ll get to that later.

”Whats wrong with me? I can’t just go and kiss people, for all I know you might see me as your sister and that would be very wrong” she said, looking away from him somewhat mad at herself for being a potential idiot, stepping away from him as she ran a hand through her hair ”especially since it’s not the first time I wanted to do that” she admitted ”I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable or anything…” she said, turning to look at him again trying to figure out what he was thinking

“They must have a pocket map, because I already don’t know how we’re going to get back,” he said with a slight grin.

Through all of his feelings of guilt and pain and sadness and regret, the one thing that was absolutely certain in his mind was that he didn’t want to take the words back. As much as he wished they weren’t just sitting in the air around them, as much as he wished that the event hadn’t happened to begin with, Lui didn’t regret telling Gio—if anything, he regretted not telling Gio in the beginning. Even if this was the end of their relationship, he would come to terms with that; Gio deserved someone that was a lot better than he was and so… he couldn’t even blame him. In fact, while in the hours after the accident he’d been throwing blame around like snowballs on a snow day, now, the blame only landed on himself. It had been his fault that he’d broken Gio’s heart like that, and subsequently, his fault that Gio had gotten into such a bad car accident… it wasn’t enough that he had ruined their relationship, he’d ruined Gio’s life, gave him injuries that required rehab and took away three years worth of memories. He might not have been driving the other car, but it definitely felt like he had a hand on the wheel.

After Luciano had said his piece, the loudest silence he’d ever sat in settled between them. He didn’t dare to look at Gio’s expression, afraid to see what his opinion on all of this was. He remembered all too well how Gio had reacted then, it was his words that acted like a scratched record in his mind at night, and he expected it to be the same. He didn’t want to look at Gio and his offer for a fresh start and see both of them broken. So it was much of a surprise to him when Gio spoke and the words that entered the silence were the opposite of what he had expected.

”No you didn’t,” Gio said, and Lui’s thoughts came to an abrupt halt as he slowly turned his head to gaze at the man with whom he was still in love with. ”I-… I’m not mad.” Hope blossomed, but at the same time it was tampered by the pessimistic thought that it wasn’t the Gio from then answering, rather, the Gio who had been told all these good things about their relationship, and by comparison, this didn’t make much of a mark in his idealization of it. Because how could he not be mad—it didn’t make sense to Lui. Maybe it just wasn’t as bad of a mistake as he thought it was, but how could it not be? A mistake that led to his boyfriend almost dying had to be a pretty grave one, no?

But even as he thought that Gio couldn’t even remember that whole day, he was surprised, again, when Gio started speaking as if from experience… as if this memory was one that lingered in his conscious. ”I never was… I was hurt, I didn’t know the whole story even then, but walking into a cafe and seeing the one person I loved the most, kissing someone else…” He could hear the pain in his voice as he spoke, and he hated himself wholly for ever making Gio hurt like that. But that he knew what he felt then… well, that felt like a step in the right direction for Lui—not necessarily for their relationship but for Gio. Most of all, he wanted Gio to remember the past three years because he didn’t think it was fair for anyone to have such a gap in their memories. It was true that he could make new ones but… it wasn’t right that Gio had to forget everything that had shaped him, all the good experiences he went through.

”I thought you got bored of me…” An alarmed shock washed over his face, and he shook his head fiercely. “No, G, no. You’re- no.” He stood again, taking a hesitant step towards him. “I would never get bored of you, you were—you are everything to me.” He paused, unsure if that was a bit too much to say to him as Gio didn’t have memory of loving him; the last thing he wanted to do was scare him away. But it was the truth. He never understood why Gio was so quick to down himself, because whenever Lui looked at him, he saw this caring, amazing guy who was brave and all-around wonderful and he couldn’t see that? He really looked into the mirror and saw anyone less than the beautiful man he was? It was unfathomable to Luciano. “I was so lucky to have you, and I took that for granted and I… I really ruined everything and I’m so, so sorry.”

He let out a breath, rubbing the back of his neck. “I loved you and knowing that I led you to get into that car crash… God. I thought you were going to die I-” His voice broke, and he couldn’t prevent the tears that ran down his cheeks. Even after all this time, it was difficult for him to think about how the wreck had looked, and how Gio had looked when they had pried him from the vehicle.

He wiped his eyes, turning and mindlessly walking away from him. “It’s not your fault…” Gio said, but Lui was already shaking his head, turning back to face him as he opened his mouth to protest that it was indeed but Gio continued speaking, taking a step towards him. ”I said what I said… if it’s really the one thing you want more than anything, like you said, I’m right here.” He held his breath, waiting for the catch, waiting for Gio to rescind the offer and go find a guy who was so much better than he was. And yet, there was none, and there was just Gio, looking at him in this forestry wonder of a greenhouse, and taking a risk. Even after everything, he was still willing to take that risk… for him, of all people. And while he didn’t deserve it, he knew that he didn’t deserve it, he hadn’t been lying when he said that it was the one thing he really wanted.

“Really?” He asked, his voice not much louder than a whisper, taking slow steps towards him. “After… after everything, you still want to try again? Gio…” He chuckled softly, giving a slight, disbelieving shake of his head. “You could get any guy you wanted, you know that? I just… don’t get why you’d choose me.” Luciano paused in front of him, reaching out for his hand and interlocking his fingers with Gio’s. “But, this is the one thing I want more than anything. So,” he smiled gently, “a fresh start sounds perfect.”

Zion was sitting in their seat, waiting for the wedding to begin when they suddenly heard someone shout ‘Fire!’. They immediately started looking around to find the person the voice belonged to. When they saw the curtains engulfed in flames, they immediately stood up and began to make their way towards the exit. Amidst the chaos of the wedding guests trying to leave the building, they heard someone call their name and they turned their head towards where they heard it coming from, seeing Marie. “Marie!” They called out to her as they ran towards her, ignoring every part of their brain telling them to run in the opposite direction. “We need to leave. Now.” They told her, taking her hand and leading her towards the exit.

Marie let out a sigh of relief when she saw Zion running towards her. “Thank god.” She muttered as Zion said they needed to get out of there. “Yeah, come on!” When Zion grabbed her hand, she squeezed it and began running towards the exit. “Pull your shirt over your nose! Smoke kills more than the actual fire!” Marie yelled over the flames. She did just that, running out the door with Zion’s hand tightly held in hers.

Your wedding day, a day that is supposed to be one of the best days of your life, certainly wasn’t for Kai. It would always be a day of regret, a day to remind him of what could have been, what he could have done differently. He never wanted the wedding. He didn’t want it from the second his parents told him it was going to happen. He put off any thought about it for as long as he could. It was even a factor in his decision to go to Cerulean. It meant getting away from his parents, and pushing off any thought of the wedding that was inevitable, for just a little longer. Then there was Jess. Getting married, instead of being with her, who he actually loved, was breaking him. He wanted, more than anything, for the two of them to ditch the wedding, together, so they could actually be together, but… that’s just not the hand life dealt. So many would be jealous, but for Kai, he knew much misery. There was no price he couldn’t afford, but money can’t buy happiness, or love. He was marrying a princess, but he didn’t love her. He would have his name in the spotlight, something wished for by so many, but not Kai. He hated being in the spotlight. Any time he strove to be the best, it was to prove he could, never for the attention. The spotlight was more than he would ever be comfortable with, but he didn’t have the choice. Kai always liked to have control in every situation possible, he hated that sense of control being taken from him, but it would always because he had no control over his own life. What little control he had, was quickly being lost, and it would soon all be gone and there would be no way to turn back.

Finally, after Kai being late and delaying the entire thing, the wedding was to begin. He had to bury everything he felt deep inside, and fight to not let any of it show. Kai wasn’t one to be outwardly expressive in a situation, he was good at putting up walls, and merely showing an ever changing mask to the world, but you can only keep so much hidden before the cracks begin to show. It was a struggle, but there was no other choice. The wedding itself, looked amazing. Kai’s mother was a skilled planner, one could not argue with that, and it was certainly fit for royalty, but it was nothing Kai would have chosen for himself. Soon enough, Kai found himself at the alter, first watching the one positive of the ceremony, with Ria happily getting to be the flower girl, before watching the princess finally walk down the aisle to meet him, a slight irritation about the delay, clear to Kai in her eyes. This was it, he was getting married. When it came time for the vows, they merely kept with the traditional. First with Princess Eva, then Kai. He paused for just a moment, taking a deep breath. It was short enough of a moment for anyone to merely think of it as nerves, not as the doubt and reluctance it really was, even as he said “I do.” Next came the rings, as unpleasant as it was for Kai to do with his aching hand, he placed the wedding ring on the princess’s hand, and she placed the ring on his. When the day started, he wasn’t wearing a ring, but now, he had two. A wedding band, and on the finger right beside it was the ring that actually mattered, the one from Jess not long earlier. At that point came the question to all who were there, asking if there were any objections. There was a part of Kai that was begging for one, even if not from Jess, from anyone with the power to stop the wedding, but there wasn’t. Whatever tiny fragment of hope Kai may have still been clutching onto, was broken at the words heard next. ‘I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride.’ As told, the newlyweds kissed, though there was no passion and emotion behind it. It didn’t matter to him that he was now Prince Malachi, husband to Princess Evangeline, a husband kissing his wife, he didn’t love her, and he didn’t have it in him to even pretend to kiss her like he meant it, yet all most saw was a new royal couple.

With the wedding ceremony complete, it was time for the reception. Most of the guests were happy, the royal family and Kai’s parents were pleased by the results of the day, but there Kai was, truly miserable. It took every ounce of effort he had to play along, and keep up appearances. He really wished he could have been able to accept Valerie’s offer of providing a distraction for him to run before the wedding began. He just couldn’t, and now it was too late even if he could. However, the wedding was only the beginning of the eventfulness of the day, as a fire soon began within the castle. What caused it, Kai didn’t know. His concern just went to the people he cared about, though, he didn’t even get to look for any of them, as royal security carefully escorted him and those of the highest importance out immediately. Even once outside safely, he wanted to go back in. Not everyone he cared about was out there, and he needed to make sure everyone that mattered to him was alright. The thing was, security wouldn’t let him set foot inside. His safety was more of a concern to them, even if Kai didn’t care. Though, he was in no shape to try helping anyone out. He wasn’t fully healed from being stabbed, his right hand was broken, and it would have been surprising if he had any painkillers left in his system by that point, so how he had been hurting before, was only amplified. Anything he could have done to try and help anyone, only would have gotten him hurt further.

The two walked through the castle gardens and paths until they reached the greenhouse, and frankly neither of them understood how the hell people are supposed not to get lost in such a humongous place ”Just follow the music and the smell of edible gold or whatever royals eat” he said withlight chuckle, though technically he didn’t know how to get back as well, but it wasn’t that far anyway, and not like he was leading them somewhere he actually knew, so there weren’t too many twists and turns on the way because getting lost wasn’t exactly on the top of his priority list for that day.

Showing up at the wedding after all this time and seeing all these people who used to be a part of his life even though he didn’t remember them was one thing, but taking Luciano and talking to him one on one about their whole relationship was another. And frankly it took a whole lot of courage Gio has dug from every part of him, because he knew either way this goes, they needed to talk. It just had to be done, perhaps closure?

Not gonna lie, remembering that moment and what he felt in it hurt like a b!tch, like someone stabing you in the heart and walking away, but at the same time, Gio was glad he got to know the whole story. Even though he would have preferred if Luciano would have just told him about it, and he wouldn’t mind because he was never a jealous person and he valued the need of closure enough to not make a deal out of his boyfriend going to lunch with his ex. But it is what it is, life doesn’t always go as we want them to, and even so, Gio preferred the pain of the memory with the knowledge of the truth than having neither of them.

Honestly, as complicated as this whole situation was for Gio, if there was one thing he adored, it was the way that even after all this time and all this mess Luciano still seemed to have a part in him that loved him. And still, even now, say that he was and is everything to him. It was something Gio never thought he’d be lucky enough to have, and frankly it was almost impossible for him to believe, but it made him feel all fuzzy and warm inside.

As Luci got up and took a step towards him, Gio’s eyes stayed up, fixated on the beautiful and amazing man standing in front of him. Everything he said, the tears, his eyes, his body language… this was what honesty looked like, luci really was hurting and in pain from that story, he cared, he loved, and it was something Gio could not ignore, he hated the way Luci basically blamed himself for Gio’s accident, when it was nothing he could predict and on reality Gio just shouldn’t have driven in the state he was at the time. In a way, looking and listening to him, it made Gio supposedly understande more regarding why he fell in love with luci in the first place, even though there was no actual reason because love doesn’t work like that, it just happens and there’s nothing you can do to control it.

And in that moment, standing in the middle of a greenhouse in a royal castle instead of actually attending the wedding, Gio gathered his courage and tried pushing away any sort of insecurity, as he stood in front of theman he used to see as the love of his life, Gio took a risk. A massive risk, but one he had to take, it wasn’t even a dilemma in his mind, he knew exactly what he was going into and he was willing to make that effort. “Really?” ”Really.” he answered, in the same low whispery voice as luci’s when he asked. As the boy made slow steps towards him, it wasn’t hard to see he found it hard to believe that Gio was actually being serious. But for real, he was dead serious.

”Gio… you could get any guy you wanted, you know that? I just… don’t get why you’d choose me.”
It always made Gio confused, and wondering how on earth did luci not realise how fcuking amazing he was. It was something Gio could never understand, because even before they got together, Gio saw him as one of the most amazing (and handsome) people he had ever crossed paths with, and I’ll just say he had crosssd paths with quite a lot of people in his life. And still, one thing he always wished, was for Luciano to be able to see himself the way he is seen in Gio’s eyes, as true, worthy and amazing as he really was.

Luciano stepped forward and was now in front of him, close, taking his hand in his own and intertwining their fingers. Gio looked up at him, there was something aboit his eyes, they drew him in like a wide ocean but in brown, he just couldn’t seem to want to look away, he couldn’t look away. ”I don’t want any guy, I just want you” he said, quietly gazing at him. It was complicated yes, but other than the fact he had faith in his memory returning as it slowly seemed to be doing that piece by piece, there was also the fact that both now and before, inside him, Gio always knew he’d never find someone better than Luci, and even if he did (which was highly unlikely), there could never be a love in his life greater than the one he held for one Luciano Ribeiro. He was and will forever be the love of his life, with all the complications in the road.

But, apparently this really was the one thing Luci wanted more than anything, and hearing those words brought a smile to Gio’s face, a smile he could not hide even if he wanted to. “So, a fresh start sounds perfect.”
”It does sound perfect doesn’t it?” he said in a voice almost as gentle and quiet as a whisper. Gio gently brought his hand up to the man’a chest, looking at him without breaking the gaze for a moment as he went up on his tiptoes and kissed the guy who borrowed his heart and never gave it back.

With his hand on Lui’s chest, and his lips on his own, Gio felt every beat coming from the boy’s heart against his hand, just like the very first time.
“Your heart,” he said quietly, back in that one Valentine’s Day that changed his life, as yet another memory came back to him. The two of them alone in a classroom, Gio’s hand on Lui’s pounding heart, just like now. “It’s you, It’s always you.” Luciano whispered, right before Gio made the move and kissed him. and in that moment, Giovanni felt whole, happy, happier than he had ever been. There was no better feeling than that. And now? Now he finally understood just how lucky he really was.

If there was one thing Valerie was indeed right about, it was the fact that royals are too bloody boring to hold a good party, but she didn’t really have room to complain because she knew it wasn’t up to Kai in any way.
Not to mention… her mother was there. The one person she did not want to see after managing to stay away for her and not see her at all for the past month or two. You stay out of my way, I stay out of yours, was that too much to ask? Apparently, yes, it was.

So as actively avoiding her mother trying not to lash at her in the middle of her cousin’s wedding, Valerie really needed some damn alcohol, and those fancy champagne trays really did not make the cut. So leaving the party aside for a while, Valerie started wandering the castle in search of some real alcohol that doesn’t fizz and take drinking like a whole bottle to get somewhat drunk.

She did in fact find it, if you ever doubted it, nothing can come between a goal focused girl and enjoying her booze. Or maybe… a fire can, apparently.
Valerie didn’t know what had started the fire, all she knew was that the place needed to be emptied, and as she was further away from the center of action, it would take her longer to get out.

Leaving the room behind, Valerie started making her way out. Being on her own and far away resulted in her taking longer to even know of the existence of the fire, so as she tried escaping, the fire was already growing bigger and stronger. The smoke hurt in her lungs, but she made her way trying to get to the exit, until passing by somewhere and hearing voices in a nearby corridor.

”Jessica?” she came towards them as she called at the figure of the girl who was holding a little boy, trying to keep him safe, ”can you walk?” she asked, coughing as smoke got in her lungs while talking

As they began to run towards the exit, they heard Marie tell them to pull their shirt over their nose. They nodded, but they knew that their was no way the lace on their jumpsuit would stretch up to their nose, so they covered their nose nd mouth with the hand that wasn’t holding Marie’s. They ran out the door as fast as they could in their heels and once they were out of the building, they closed their eyes and clutched the necklace around their neck, muttering a prayer in Spanish. When they’d finished, they turned to Marie. “Are you okay?” They asked her.

Pure fun and enjoyment. That’s what the day had been for Ria. Playing tag with new friends, and an adorable dog was all that mattered. None of the troubles of everyone around them changed anything. They were happy, enjoying being kids. Though, the fun finally came to an end as the adults found where they were and made them stop playing as it was time for the wedding. Ria was the flower girl, so she had to be there. She may not have had any idea what was really going on, but after the wedding, she could tell her big brother wasn’t alright. When the wedding ended, she found her way to Kai, simply hugging him with a smile. However, after she stepped away from her brother, she found herself alone and after a mere few minutes, she was lost, and soon the chaos that came only made things worse. A fire had started, and the little girl was scared, alone, and lost.
