Brandon looked at the blog post before leaving for school. To his surprise, it was actually about the people on the blue bloods list. When he got to Mikel’s post he couldn’t help but snicker. For some reason he couldn’t imagine Mikel doing something like that and now it was out for everyone to see. He couldn’t imagine anyone doing what they did. The secrets were getting darker and darker and he started wondering if things would get worse for him. He shook his head and put his phone in his pocket and hopped on the bus for school.
Brandon was enjoying all of the valentine decorations. It was something different and it took him out of all of the usual routines. He stood by the stand, pondering if he should fill out the surveys. “Whatever, it’s not like i’m serious about this anyways.” He thought. He wondered if Selena was doing the same. While walking down the hallway, he spotted Ruby in the cafeteria. He was wondering if she was okay after the outburst she had the last time she talked to him. He decided to give her space for now. Instead, he went up to Maverick who he barely talked to, even though they were on the same soccer team. “Excited about valentines day?” He asked him.
After they hugged. Kara felt a little more relieved that she could get on with her day without wondering if there was going to be a conflict between her and someone else. “I don’t think i could stay mad at you for long anyways. It was kind of hard to ignore you too.” She said while laughing. “Don’t worry about it, I can probably talk to him later about the survey results , if he decides to take it.” Elodie then said that she was going to take the survey. “I thought you already took it. Well, have fun because I’m dying to use the bathroom right now. See you later.” Kara hurried to the bathroom. Why didn’t I use the bathroom before I left.
Ruby fell silent, eating quietly. The voices filled her head and she grimaced. She really wished it was only Sam’s voice but that wasn’t the case. Some of the voices were downright evil…They’d scream at her to hurt people, which was very dangerous due to her emotional instability. “So…what classes do you have?” She asked, finally breaking the silence. @Littlefeets - Reina
“Wow. Just put your mind into it that today will be better, and tomorrow will be better yet. Trying to stay positive makes a difference.” Reina shrugged. “You never know, they might like you. I do alright when its just talking, but about anything past the friendship stage and things get messy. Well, it did the one time I actually had a boyfriend.” Reina paused to take a bite of her food when Ruby asked about her classes. “Really just the typical classes. Just the ones the other seniors are taking. Nothing special really.”
“I guess you’re right. Well, I’ve never had a boyfriend or girlfriend really. I fall in love way to easily which is a really big problem because I always come on way to strong and scare them away. I wish I could control my emotions.” She said, sighing. “I was wondering if maybe we had class together. I wasn’t paying attention to any of the other kids, so I don’t know if you’re in any of my classes.” @Littlefeets - Reina
Jezebel smiled at Mikel as she walked around to get in the passenger side of his car. Other than Daniel, Mikel had been the only one who had known her secret prior to it’s exposure on the blog, though it had only been recently. As long as she wasn’t the one who had to drive, she was fine with anything. “Where we go is up to you. You’re the one in control here. I’m just along for the ride.” She said with a smile in response to his question of if she had anywhere in mind. “I’m up for anything.”
The girl left, or at least chose not to follow Maverick as he walked away from her. He didn’t even know her name, but he was just glad to be on his own again. It was a little while later when Maverick had someone different come up to him. Brandon, one of the other guys on the soccer team. They knew each other, but not well by any means. Maverick looked over at him with a shrug when he asked if Maverick was excited about Valentine’s Day. “Not really. Valentine’s Day isn’t really my thing.” He sighed with a shake of his head. “My sisters are probably excited about it enough for the three of us. But I take it you are? What makes you excited about it?” Maverick didn’t have anything against the holiday, but it was still a bit much in his view. Yeah if you’re dating someone, that can be good and all, but there’s plenty of other times without so much fuss that you could have a romantic date and stuff.
It was still pretty early in the morning and the sun wasn’t fully up so Mikel knew exactly where he wanted to go. It was a place he used to go when he was on another level in the past but it was also a place he could go when he just needed to get away and feel free. Mikel still hated how he found out about Jez’s fear and the fact it wasn’t too long ago still made him angry at himself for putting anyone else at danger. If it were just him there he wouldn’t care and might’ve hoped for a different outcome but he would never want to hurt anyone else for his own mistakes and stupidity.
He turned up the music a bit more and let his armrest on the door and since his jeep didn’t have the top on he could feel the breeze on his skin. “You’re the one in control here.” He smirked a little and raised a brow to this. “I’m up for anything.” He nodded and drove the rest of the way there. Parking the car when they got to the top of a trailhead and he got out of the vehicle. “Follow me, it’s not too far up…” He told her and started walking on a narrow trail that was mostly dirt under his feet.
He didn’t stop walking until he got to a spot that was a little rockier, the spot he was most familiar with, and smiled as he looked back at her. “Isn’t it amazing up here and seeing all that.” He meant the view and the lights of the city below them. “Makes my life and me seem so…small especially when you realize how many other people are out there. Living their own lives, not caring about what I do in my own.” He shrugged as he spoke and ran a hand through his hands through his own hair. “Makes that little list seem irrelevant.” @Littlefeets
Jezebel didn’t hold anything against Mikel with everything about how he found about her fear. All she cared about was that she wasn’t behind the wheel herself. It wasn’t accidents that scared her, it was more of bring the one to cause them. When they finally stopped, Jezebel got out of the vehicle right after Mikel. She had to be careful and watch her footing at a couple points Since she didn’t know the area, especially as the ground became less even and rockier. Taking her last few, careful steps, Jezebel smiled at Mikel as they stopped. She looked out at the view, eyes widening slightly at the sight. “Woah. Yeah, it is.” Jezebel hadn’t even known that there was a spot there to look out over the city like that, so she was in awe over the view. “Yeah, I can see how that could be. I’ve seen views like this a couple times when I’ve been with my mom, but it’s kinda crazy to actually see the city like this, and be close to home. There’s a whole world, and here we’re basically in our own little bubble.”
He didn’t really take into accounts if this was something she would’ve wanted to do or not and since he was probably going to come here anyway he didn’t think twice. Though if he came here alone, he proably would’ve brought extracurriculars with him but this was fine too. “Yeah, I can see how that could be. There’s a whole world, and here we’re basically in our own little bubble.” “It’s a little intimidating honestly. Makes everything that happens at that school or to make that list seem not worth it but I guess it’s the life we live…” He shrugged and sat on one of the rocks, resting his elbows on his knees. Since he was pretty tall he looked a little silly sitting this way because of the length of his legs. He had always been tall, even in middle school he was the tallest in all of his classes and didn’t stop growing until about a year ago. Maxing out at six foot four.
“I come here a lot.” He told her and broke away his look from the city and over at her. “Just is a place to really get away, especially with everything these last few days.” He couldn’t imagine being in his classes today and tyring to listen to a teacher go on and on about why we need to know the difference between an epithetical cell and a nerve cell. School, in general, wasn’t really Mikels thing anyways, unlike most of his peers, he didn’t want to go to college and the thought of dropping out was always in his mind. “Now, this is my secret place so you better not go and tell the whole school about it.” He smiled up at her and chuckled a bit when he said this. @Littlefeets
“I get that. I’m more of the opposite. I keep my distance so I don’t get hurt. It sucks when you care about someone and they turn their back on you.” She said with a sigh. She let out a deeper exhale and returned to a bright smile. She pulled her phone back out of her pocket and pulled up her schedule to show Ruby. “That’s my classes, if you’re in one of them maybe you can sit by me.” Reina still didn’t really know Ruby, but she figured that if they had class together and could sit together then maybe it would help Ruby get accustomed to the school a bit easier.
Puckering his lips to one corner, Lyonrad made it seem as if he actually was thinking when he filled in the survey questions. He’s kind of genuine about it, but is he true about it? Well… that’s question left only for those who know him well, and that’s certainly not him. He read his answers over again for an assurance, staring at one question he wasn’t sure what to answer with.
He let out a chuckle to Mady’s answer in agreement—he had an alibi to, and it was last year when he was given a girl he was sure didn’t fit the description he had for himself as he chose to be paired with someone “the same” as him. It was either they actually messed up… or someone else just messed it up. He playfully shrugged his shoulders, “Yeah, you’re right.” he said with a nod. He brought his eyes to the paper once again, finally finishing it. Feeling satisfied of his lies, he looked back up to Mady with his hand lifting the paper in front of her. “Let me just pass this to them, I’ll come back in a second.”
He turned his back on Mady without some kind of confirmation, hurrying towards one of the girls who were in charge of the event; however, he stopped right from his tracks as he saw someone approaching another one, and almost instantly was interest piqued from him. He recognized the girl immediately not by any other reason but the Blue Bloods’ List, and what’s something better can he do? Befriend her.
And so. he hurried to her side and handed the paper just in time for it to be “coincidentally” done at the same time with her. He purposely bumped his hand with her just for him to be able to say, “Oh, sorry.” He smiled at the girl that was Elodie DeLoughrey, arching his brows as if he’d just recognize her at that moment. “Wait, Elodie, right?”
“Yeah, at school, and home, and stuff, the list means so much, but everywhere else it doesn’t matter the same way.” Even with thinking about how insignificant a lot of it was on a larger scale, the list was still everything for her. Being on that list let her have some recognition from her mother, something that she had wanted for as long as she could remember. Whatever comes after everything is said and done and graduation comes around, she honestly didn’t know, but everything she wanted for as long as she could remember was to actually feel wanted. Being on that list meant that for even just a minute she could feel like her mother did want her. Jezebel giggled quietly at how Mikel was sitting before sitting down next to him. She nodded when he mentioned how he came there often. “Yeah, this seems like a nice spot to go and make all your troubles go away for a little while.” Jezebel smiled with a small laugh before putting her fingers to her lips with a zipper motion. “My lips are sealed. Your secret spot is safe with me.”
Smiling as she watched Kara leaving, she couldn’t help but feel relieved the blog post didn’t ruin her friendship and, hopeful, reputation as it was meant to do. Shifting her gaze to the nearest seat she could find in the hallway, she reached for a pen in her bag, walking in that direction. Filling the survey was her main goal today and she wanted to make sure she answered truthfully, according to what she really wanted, so finding the perfect quiet spot was the first step.
“Don’t disappoint me,” laughing as she made her way back to the stand, she jokingly told the girl sitting there but as she was putting the paper down someone bumped into her, apologizing right away. Without saying a thing, she simply smiled and shook her head as a way to show she didn’t have a problem with it, glancing at the person for a second just to see who it was. And it was hard not to recognize him. He was that guy she never really interacted with but heard many stories about. Mostly from her brother complaining about people he doesn’t like and from that she learned not to fully trust someone like Lyonrad. But maybe what she heard was not true at all and she would be wrong for doing that.
Not thinking much about it, she just wanted to turn around and walk away but hearing him speak up again made her look up at him, noticing the expressing and smile on his face. “That’s me,” she confirmed through a chuckle, almost uncomfortably crossing her arms. In this kind of situation she didn’t know what to do, but not wanting to be rude and simply leave, she smiled back at him, politely asking, “Can I help you with something?”
Mikel messes with the rings he wore on his fingers as she spoke also nodding along to what she said. He knew not many people felt the same way about the list like he did. He was grateful to be on it and he had gotten a message from his parents saying they were proud but not much more than that. At this point there wasn’t much he could do anymore to get emotion from them. They were too busy being the perfect family to notice anything wrong ever and that’s shown in things that have happened in the past and even a few thing in more recent times. They mostly just paid off people to hide their scares.
“My lips are sealed. Your secret spot is safe with me.” Mikel smiled at the act of her zipping her lips to show she would keep the secret. “Good, I don’t need certain people up here and ruining this place for me.” He joked a bit but was also being serious. In this town there was really no such thing as secrets so coming here was the place he could get away and feel actually safe. “How have you been though, I mean things have been pretty crazy these past couple days?” He asked her genuinely and tilted his head to look at her sitting next to him. @Littlefeets
She laughed with a smile. “True. People would just mess the whole thing up. Some things are best kept low-key. Makes it seem more special that way.” Jezebel let out a small sigh. “Yeah, things have been crazy, and I’m sure with valentines and then prom coming up that things are about to get even crazier. I’ve been doing alright though. Well, other than being utterly embarrassed that everyone now knows I’m terrified to drive. It was bad enough knowing that someone to do with Blue Royalty knew somehow, but whoever runs the blog revealing it, royally sucked.” Its not like it was some deep dark secret, but it was certainly a blow to her confidence and pride. Especially since the post had practically rubbed salt in the wound by bringing up how ‘Well’ Daniel took the news of her being his sister. None of the stuff about her in the post was a reputation crusher or extreme for her like the others. It was more of something that hurt her personally. “What about you though? How’ve you been with all the craziness?” She asked as she looked up at him with a sweet smile.
Mikel had read the whole blog post, not just the part about himself. He knew about the paragraph on Jezebel and Tala. The ending of hers left some uncertainty for everyone reading it also and knowing that the last part was probably going to come out about who was with her during the incident he was wondering when and what it will say. As for Elodie, he chuckled when he read that. Never did he imagine her doing something so intense but he admired it. She definitely had the nice girl exterior so he never saw that coming. “I’m sure with valentines and then prom coming up that things are about to get even crazier.” He was sure she was right on this. “I can’t even imagine what will come out as we get closer to then…whoever is doing this must have a pretty boring life to have the time to learn anything and everything that happens in the school.”
“What about you though? How’ve you been with all the craziness?” “Well obviously one of my own secrets got let out…though Candice also let that spill the day before, I just didn’t expect everyone to know…” He shrugged a little at his own words. “I don’t really care though, its not something that is going to make or break what people think of me really I don’t think. Actually, I don’t even think I have a reputation to uphold anyways.” @Littlefeets
Ruby nodded sadly. “I blow up at people so they leave because they can’t handle me. I may fall in love easily, but I try to push people away so they don’t get caught in the crossfire of my wild brain. I never really had many friends. Those that stuck with me were very patient and could handle my explosive outbursts.” She said, leaning over to look at Reina’s phone. “Oh, we actually have next period together…” She said. “Do you…want to walk together?” She asked, knowing she’d say no, but asking anyway. @Littlefeets - Reina
Sadie slowly gave a genuine smile when Giovanni reassured her that he wasn’t offended. She knew that other people at this school would not have acted so understanding about her not knowing who they were - though Sadie did know those types of people, partially to avoid the frustration from them. But, thankfully, in this case it seemed she had picked the right person to talk to. “Yeah, even. We are.” Sadie replied through a sigh of relief, unintentionally mixing up the correct order of those words.
To her surprise, Sadie’s advice successfully encouraged him to fill out the survey. At almost the exact time that he did, Sadie unfolded the sheet of paper that she had been clinging onto during the conversation. “Who knows, you may find the perfect person,” Sadie said, turning it more into a question by looking up at him. After he replied, Sadie put her shoulders back and looked around for a moment. “Anyway… it was really nice meeting you,” She concluded with a smile, before the conversation drifted into awkward nothingness. “I promise I will know who you are next time I see you,” She added, half-jokingly, before leaving.
Walking over to her locker, Sadie decided to start filling the survey out finally. She began to tick the boxes of the multiple-choice questions, wondering what type of person would match with her.
“I don’t know…valentines day is pretty cool to me. I like seeing all of the pink decorations and stuff.” Brandon felt kind of weird saying that since Maverick just told him that valentines wasn’t his thing. He didn’t want him to think he was weird or something. “I just like holiday decorations. It doesn’t matter if it’s winter, halloween, or whatever. It’s funny because my younger brother acts like he doesn’t care about it but I know he does.” He shrugged his shoulders. He didn’t even know that Maverick had sisters, so it was interesting to know about. “Any who, hows soccer coming along for you? I’m really burnt out on all of these sports, and kind of discouraged after that…Dorian fiasco.” He shook his head and chuckled.
“Thank you,” Lyonrad smilingly said to the girl as she received his paper, playing good on the tone of his voice. He adjusted the sling of his almost empty bag, holding on to it while it only hung from one of his shoulders. He took steps closer to Elodie so as to not block the other students’ way for the Oh My Dollar Valentine survey—he normally doesn’t care about it, but it was nice to give off that impression.
He could tell right away the difference from Elodie and her brother—one was salty and the other sweet, even though his image was probably ruined first by the salty DeLoughrey. He shrugged the thought of Dorian doing so, not really minding it being an obstacle between him and Elodie—he believed he was capable enough to turn it around.
Now, is he, actually? “No, nothing,” he said, planning on walking beside the girl if ever she left because of his answer. “This is a nice day we’re having. Are you excited about this activity?” He casually pointed behind him where the Oh My Dollar Valentine surveys were stationed, not planning on getting his smile away. He tried to be as genuine about it, which always works thanks to his years of doing his stuff.
