Sarah kept an eye on her bags just in case someone wanted to come and steal them. That’s why she didn’t realize someone was walking up to her.
“Didja pack ya whole house in those bags? And if not, how did you even pack that much stuff?” She jumped from the sudden sound of someones voice. “Oh! You scared me.” She said, her eyes opened wide. The guy was wearing thick glasses. He looked like one of those people who would tease her at school during recess. “Y-yeah, I didn’t realize that my bags would be this big. I practically did pack my whole house” she said with a small chuckle. “I actually had to put them down because my arms were hurting. I didn’t want to leave anything at home.”
Helix let go of his hair. Helix was brainstorming what show they were speaking about, and sadly, he didn’t know any featuring girl named Orla. “That’s cool. It’s good you like it, and I think it’s a good name no matter the intent,” Helix smiled. He wondered what type of humor they liked, if not dark humor. But, before they could ask, they were asked a question themselves. “Oh, uh. You’d have to call my parents to get that answer. I don’t think I ever asked. Also, that’s a reason why I thought your story was interesting. I never really thought about the meanings behind names. If you had to give something or someone a name, would you consider its meaning?” Helix was wondering if they could top his imaginary cat’s name of Sprinkle Fluffs.
“If I had to give somebody a name … Of course I would give them one with a beautiful meaning. Oh as you know, I’d try to avoid giving my family funny names like TittyMitty and Slippery When Wet Dikrats and more in the terms of Jack Bauer. But I liked my name because although it’s meant to be funny in my case it’s unique and beautiful. If I didn’t have this skin and still had the name and my mom told me it meant golden princess I’d assume it means something about wealth and beauty or maybe me being golden. So I think my mother tried to be funny but didn’t manage. But thank god I didn’t have to name anybody … Did you?” She asked him.
Destiny looked him in the eyes when she heard the subtle hint of sadness in his voice, “Well, what would you say if I did?” She asked him, softly. Destiny really liked this guy and wanted to see if he would be ok with her being bisexual, although hopefully the flirting, if you could even call it that, would tell him she was bisexual. Well… recently she had thought about becoming strictly lesbian with the kind of guys she’d been dating lately, but…this one was different.
“So you are? That’s great …” His brain wanted to add “for you” to that sentence but he knew that would sound selfish. “If that’s what you enjoy go for it. I usually go for the things I enjoy and I was always fine, although never fine with sticking to one pleasure.” He turned to her “I guess now that you’ve come out I could ask you about it … How do you stick to only one woman? Everybody thinks I’m crazy because I don’t see the benefit in doing that. I don’t belive in love either and they just think I’m heartless but to be honest I never thought not being in love shouldn’t mean not having a heart and I just don’t understand it. How do you love women Destiny?”
@Bluecookies - Ms. Miller I have a question … Why torture him?
Destiny laughed, “Well, then good thing I like you, I mean men, I mean guys, I mean-” She said tripping over her words before finally taking a breath and pushing her hair behind her ear. “Good thing I like guys too.” Her cheeks flushed red and she turned her attention to his question for a moment, “Because I’m not looking for the one who has everything. I’m looking for someone who completes me, and I think that only one person can truly complete another. Maybe if try looking for a nice woman who completes you instead of a hundred women who can only offer you one thing. You know, in Greek mythology when humans were first created they had two heads, four arms, and four legs. Fearing their power and that the fearsome beasts could overthrow him, Zeus split them apart. Now, it’s said that each half longs for the other to be whole.” Destiny smiled when he asked why she loved women, “Because women are generally more kind, compassionate, emotional, understanding, gentle. I like being with someone who can give me that, but lately with all the guys I’ve dated, I’m kind of starting to think maybe I should be lesbian.”
William smiled when she said she likes men too because that brings him back on the table. He doesn’t know why it should matter, but he was happy it was an option, not yet sure why he should be the one to be happy for it though, at least not yet. However he got the answer to that question once he noticed her blush and his face got all red and hot and he had to turn his head away from her view. For some reason he was ashamed of the things he started to feel for her because he felt he wasn’t made for love and whoever shows him any would get their hearts broken. And that’s what he thinks of himself … A heartbreaker, because he doesn’t completely understand the difference between love and hookups he thinks he broke a lot of hearts when it was just horny women getting what they want. He soon turned back and said “That’s a nice tale, Miss Miller.” He adressed her this way because he was afraid she felt uncomfortable when he spoke to her using her first name thinking it was too fast and she might think he was too forward with it and he didn’t want her to think poorly of him. “It’s wholesome, but it’s a shame neither of us can truly belive it’s more than just a story.” He reminded himself how there’s probably not somebody for everybody in the world and took himself as a prime example.
Then she started telling him why she liked women, and what most people want or need in a relationship. He started thinking again. “Kind, compassionate, emotion, understanding, gentle.” He softly repeated it as she said it. That’s exactly why he started liking her, but if women are generally more like that like she says … Maybe he doesn’t like her any more than he’d like any other woman. “I can’t break her heart.” He thought to himself. “She’s too interesting and sweet and nice and beautiful and … amazing. I didn’t want her to go … What does that mean?” He kept wondering things but still listened to Destiny and when she finished he said “But you already like both men and women, doesn’t that mean you don’t need to change your sexuality in order to be in a relationship with women?” He asked. He wasn’t giving advice he was just a bit confused about why she’s say she would be a lesbian when she admitted to already being bi.
It would be a lie to say kakólin enjoyed camping, especially on a sunny day such as now. But the news that she might find her soulmate sparked a deep interest in her, after all she wanted to meet the person who would be the Gomez to her Morticia-although Kalon was more sadistic and darker in different ways than Morticia. The sun shone on Kalon and she brought out her umbrella, deflecting the sun from herself. A couple of happy campers passed Kalon and she frowned, she flicked her fingers and the duo tripped and landed painfully on the ground, their legs accidentally brushing a sharp object that led to bleeding. Kalon smiled, “Aren’t you going to help us?” The duo said groaning as they stared at their bl00dy legs and tried not to show fear. Kalon arched a brow, “So now you see me?” She responded moving closer to them, “But when you walked pass me you didn’t even say hey.” She faked sadness before she pressed a button on her umbrella and it turned to a knife, she stabbed the knife on the bleeding leg of to the friends as they shrieked. “What-what somebody help, help!” Kalon held a finger to her lips and as if magically they were silenced, “Thy shall not call for help, this is simply a punishment. You should have said hey instead of ignoring my existence, I like to be seen.” She said as she stare at her nails. The duo had a frightening face and tried to make a sound, but couldn’t “Don’t worry this is just a temporally bad luck, you’re not dying today, after all one of you might be my lucky Gomez.” She promised them as she fled the scene and hid behind a tree, tripping a man that was walking by into their direction. The man saw the couple and called for help, getting a crowd to he help them stand.
Kalon hummed, see you didn’t die today, she thought as she walked off, turning the knife back into an umbrella and swinging her hips. Reaching an area for sitting down, Kalon saw a really average looking woman who seemed to be boringly thinking about something as she stared into the distance. Kalon smirked, seemed like the lady miss boring needed some excitement in her life. Kalon flicked her hands and when the lady tried to stand up, she couldn’t as she was glued to the chair, as she struggled to stand she fell and Kalon laughed. “Kakólin” Kalon introduced as she approached the lady and flicking her hands, the glue from the chair disappeared. “it seems you might have been cursed with some bad luck eh?”
Emma was afraid. She didn’t show it, but she was terrified of what her soulmate would think of her power. She leaned back on the bench, soon realizing she was glued down. “What the-?!” Emma exclaimed, trying to stand up. The glue then disappeared and she heard a woman’s voice. “Bad luck? Oh, you have no idea. Trust me.” Emma said, standing to face the woman. Sh!t, she was pretty. “Is Kakòlin your name? What nationality is that? Oh. I’m Emma.” She just prayed Kakòlin didn’t shake hands… @Kristi - Kalon
Kalon gave smirked arching her brow, “It seems that not everyone in this camp is idiotic, you didn’t ignore me.” She leaned close to the girl and let out a cold breath in her face, “Buona, Mi piace essere visto.” Good, I like to be seen. Kalon tucked her hair. “Kakòlin has no nationality, it’s just a name my parents created from their creativity.” She paused, “Talented people, really talented.” Kalon let out a deep dark laugh, “It means bad luck though, and my country of origin is italy and yours?” She asked extending her hand that was covered with a long black lace glove.
"Oh. I’m Emma.”
How basic, though it was a name that seemed fitting for the woman Kakòlin deemed average. “The name doesn’t roll out of my tongue well, but I guess it’s a fitting name for a lady like you.” Kalon flicked her fingers and a group of people fell down, she turned to give them a scary glare. She had seen them staring at them and pointing fingers, how dear them dishonor her. “Emma, you must excuse me.” Kalon made her way to the small group that contained 3 people and crouched to the ground. “Were you looking down on me?” Kalon asked her face twisted in an unreadable expression. The group of 3 shook their heads no. Kalon sighed and sang “Johnny, Johnny. Yes papa? Eating sugar? No papa. Telling lies? No papa. Open your mouth. Ha-ha-ha!” The group of 3 opened their mouths and as soon as they did it, a group of pigeons flew by and landed a dung on their faces. Kalon gave them a disgusted look, “Filthy.” She said before exiting and walking back to Emma, “Sorry you had to wait, I was talking to long lost friends-” She paused with a smile, “Anyways how old are you? i’m 21.”
Helix was slightly confused by those examples, but he got the idea and resisted a snicker at the ‘Slippery When Wet’ name. Helix had to wonder what he would feel if his name was a joke. He didn’t think he’d mind it, but it’s not like he had to deal with the fact his whole life. “Yeah, to be fair, even if someone told me to be funny or I’d die, I’d probably instantly keel over. Comedians must be on some higher plane of existence to do what they do. Why am I talking about comedy again?” Helix slightly rambled, “Oh, and I did name something once. I wanted a cat as a kid, but my parents don’t like pets. So, I made up an imaginary one named Sprinkle Fluffs. The idea was that it had sprinkles in its fur. Best name ever, I know.” Helix shook his head, turning somewhat red. He was a little embarrassed by the name, though he still thought it was a fun fact.
“I’m not one to ignore people who glue me to benches.” Emma said, with a small smile. Emma stood her ground when Kakòlin leaned in close. “Was that Italian?” Huh. Her parents just made up her name. “That’s super cool. My name is kinda boring. Oh, I’m American.” Kakòlin extended a, luckily, gloved hand, and Emma carefully took her hand, careful not to touch her skin. “I…guess I’ll take that as a compliment.” She then blinked in confusion when a trio fell down when Kakòlin flicked her fingers, telling Emma she’d be back. Emma watched the scene unfold in front of her, utterly confused. What was this girl’s power? Kakòlin soon returned, and Emma quickly closed her mouth. “I’m 21 too. If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your power? I saw what you just did. That’s kinda awesome.” @Kristi - Kakòlin
Finley jumped when the girl did, not expecting it. Finley giggled after the fact, finding it funny that they both ended up spooked. “Oh, no worries. It was entertaining. I mean, you probably have to have super strength to carry all of those without being tired,” Finley chuckled. Finley nodded, they definitely weren’t surprised that the bags were tiring to lug around. “Why didn’t you want to leave anything at home? This seems like a lot more work than just organizing what you’d need at a camp.”
Kalon laughed, pressing a button on her umbrella and turning it into a fan, “I suppose it’s not easy to ignore a person who does that.” She held the fan to her ruby-red lips. “Sì” Kalon curtsied, the fan still pressed to her lips. Kakòlin noticed the carefulness of average Emma, it was as if she was avoiding touching something about her. Before Kalon could ask, a group of 3 started pointing and them and laughing, Kalon excused herself and headed towards the people.
“Jinx, i’m the mistress of bad luck.” It has become a habit of Kakòlin to introduce herself like that, the mistress of everything wrong with the world, bad misfortunes. But she was a Royale, and all royale were mistress/masters of something people considered terribly. “Like I said, the meaning of my name means bad luck.” As soon as she said that, a girl who was walking passed them mirror broke and the female screamed. Kalon laughed, “That never gets old.”
Emma really liked Kakòlin’s umbrella fan, saying so. “That umbrella is really cool. Where’d you get it?” She explained her power, and Emma made a noise of interest. “Oh, I see. So you’re pretty much a walking Murphy’s Law. That’s cool.” A snort escaped Emma’s lips when the mirror of a girl walking past them broke. “Nice one. I’ll make sure to keep mirrors away from you, then.” Would Kakòlin ask about her power? @Kristi - Kakòlin
Kalon pressed the umbrella to her lips as she softly opened her lips, “My father. My father makes this type of items and sells them, under the name ‘royale castello’” And as the daughter of Kasabian Royale, she got things like this for free. Oh she was lucky Kalon frowned, “Murphy law? I don’t think i’ve heard that term before.” Was it something only Americans or people like Emma knew? “Just when i’m in a bad mood.” Kalon responded with a smirk, turning the fan back into an umbrella. “When i’m in a good mood, no need to keep mirrors away from mi.”
“Oh, that’s really cool. How much are they? I really like it.” Emma said, looking at the fan. “Oh, Murphy’s Law is pretty much if anything bad can happen, it will.” Ah. That made sense to Emma. It was probably her powers amplified by her mood. “Is it amplified by your mood? That’s cool.” @Kristi - Kakòlin
“You wanted a cat?” She wondered. “See I never got that, I always wanted a dog. They’re soo adorable and loyal and make your heart warm no matter what type of cat it is. But then again I got scratched by a crazy cat as a kid and I was always afraid of that cat and that’s probably why I don’t care for them. But I probably would’ve forgotten all about it if I had Sprinkle Fluffs. Except mine would be Smarties Fluffs, I swear those smarties are my weakness.”
Destiny laughed at his formality, “Please, call me Destiny. The only ones who call me Ms. Miller these days are my kids, I mean students. Maybe but that doesn’t mean we can’t try first, look the only reason you’re even still talking to me is that you think I’m still little miss innocent. Well, when I was a young girl, one of the pretty popular girls had stolen my boyfriend at the time, well, as one could imagine, I got angry, really angry and I confront her, the next thing I know she starts choking and grabs her throat like she can’t breathe. I had found out later that I was the cause of that, apparently I had given the very air she breathed the properties of water and…” Destiny turned away, ashamed, “I put her in a coma for a year and a half, I swear I didn’t mean to, I was just so angry I couldn’t think straight. She ended up having temporary brain damage, I’m extremely lucky it was only temporary.” Destiny sighed, “I’ve never told anyone that story and I promised to never ever manipulate air or any other elements in a way that could be harmful to people, like that again.” Happy he changed the subject, Destiny replied sadly, “I do, but with the kind of guys I’ve been dating lately. They’re rude, inconsiderate, they don’t care about me, and some of them just played a long con to get in my pants, and then bolted bragging to their friends while I just became another girl to them.” Destiny sighed, “Don’t get me wrong, I like that I can attract handsome guys, that I’m wanted but for once, just once, I wish I was what they wanted, not just my body. As for the whole lesbian thing, the longest most stable relationships I’ve ever had have been with women. So, after my latest heartbreak, my friends and family heard that this place was guaranteed to find anyone their soulmate, they practically paid for me to go while I just wanted to curl up by the fireplace and write my novel.” Destiny laughed and rubbed her watery eyes, “Wow, I’ve just met you and told you my whole life story. I’m so sorry, I promise I never do this.”
Kalon chuckled, “Then I guess i’m pretty much murphy law.” To the people who thought their luck so good, nothing would ever happen, false. Bad luck always found a way, you try to talk- like what happened to the duo, but you found out you’ve lost your voice from screaming and excitement and can’t scream for help. You tried to lie, like what happened right now, but found out you couldn’t find the words, so when you opened your mouth, misfortune happened and a bird’s dung dropped on your face. Sad, they must have never expected something like this to happen. Kalon shook her head, “No, I just choose to do it when i’m in a bad mood, but I also do it when i’m feeling ‘spicy’”
