When its legs gave out, the spidery creature crashed to the ground. Two Gold coins rolled down it’s back and onto the ground before Salazar. Without a second thought, he scooped up the coins and tossed one to Thia. He knew that they did all the work, so they deserved the loot. Thia caught and pocketed her coin before suggesting they they take a short rest her. It had been a long journey and ALL of them need to feel rejuvenated for the next stretch of their journey. The Mount and Neverwinter were done, only Gauntlgrym and the Wood to go. They were halfway. Thia recognised the mass as a gelatinous cube that was squishing toward the group with slow but unstoppable speed.


The heroes must do their best impression of the gelatinous cube to hopefully trick it to passing you by. Describe it below and make sure you have the best impression!


Kiya Astorio, the Sage

Roll 11+ = +2 stamina to any two players

When this ability is used, the monster doesn’t attack you.

HAHAH okok

So so so Salazar takes out the blanket he has in his bag, and then like puts it over himself and then curls up so he looks all compact and whole beneath the gray blanket. And, on the ground, he like inches himself forward, kinda lightly shaking his body so the blanket kind of ripples and it’s more gelatin-y yknow

Yup, and whether it is successful or not, since it’s not fighting, it won’t count as being used in this area/“dungeon”.

Korinn covers herself in slime remains that are around the cave, then moves around like a slime.
(als slightly grumpy mumbles in between because she doesn’t like doing it)

They had all just spend the past few hours resting and when Thia opened her eyes, she saw it and pointed in the direction the group were headed. Coming from the depths of Gauntlgrym, was a large mass of… something. As it slowly got closer Salazar listened to Thia explain that it was a gelatinous cube and if they all disguised themselves as one of these things then it wouldn’t bring harm to them.

So Salazar reached into his pack and took out his blanket, then put it over himself and then curled up as compact as possible beneath his grey blanket. Carefully he inched forward, lightly shaking his body so that the blanket rippled almost like jelly. Patrick took a different item from their bag, the pet memic, who upon seeing the mass, flopped to the ground as its duplicate. Patrick stepped back, pressing their body against the wall. Looking around where she sat, Korinn patted the ground and stone slab she rested her back on. All around her was small traces of slime and Korinn grumbled as she gathered as much of it up to smother herself in it. Thia looked at Salazar and like the idea but the mass was getting too close now to grab her own blanket. Instead, she curled herself into a tight ball and attempted to bounce on her feet without wobbling over.
As for Kiya, they weren’t having any of this nonsense about acting like the creature. They had magic. Feeling the power and warmth in their hands move up their arms, Kiya attempted to create an illusion that they were the creature. The problem was that the gelatinous cube was much too close now and could sense the magic used.

The path they had chosen to relax in was tight between the slabs and there wasn’t much manoeuvring room for the gelatinous cube. Thinking he was one of its own, it went around Salazar, and the pet mimic too. Except, to avoid the pet mimic, it got too close to Patrick and the wall. It sucked them inside. Same too with Thia but didn’t sense Korinn. As for Kiya, it barrelled right for them, sucked them in, and continued on.
Gradually, it released those three down the path in piles of slime. (-1 stamina each)

Once the group has recovered, they discover that to the side of the main rumbling path is a large alcove. Towards the back, they can see a slab that had been used as a table with things strewn across it and a firepit down beside it.


Would any of the adventurers like to go into the alcove? This is going to have them meet some kind of monster/creature to battle. You can each choose separately, with or without discussing it.
