May was quite amused that Valentina was able to at laugh at one of his conversations, of course, he doesn’t necessarily show, but instead nods in approval with a small grin on his face. Still, his hands on his back, replied to her little question but stepped back as she got closer to him, scoffing with a sense of uneasiness to both the action and question. He responded back, “Well, colleagues as in friends from other kingdoms. You know, both in the looking glass and wonderland. Since my… father is quite intertwined with Mr. Hatter. But I do not entertain my beliefs if I consider the world as ‘Underland’ or ‘Wonderland’, but what I can say is that life is but a joke.” With his look, he smirked in her last comment, thinking of the so called technicolor world as nothing but grimy and damp.
Nodding to the comment of Valentina, he did expect nothing less from a daughter of a cupid. More or less, he’d be stunned if her favorites were anything but romance. Saucy and grandiose, but what is more fun than to laugh at the writings of a fantasy made in the workings of a mind thirsting for a certain desire. As the elegant speech went to his usual somber tone of despair in the views of the things that he knows have lost, she saw the look of Valentina’s face, as if she had seen a man who was tarnished by the world by some rejection. He wonders a bit if she could find out the common roots to this handheld grudge, but he looks coldly to dig it deeper if she is that curious. Of course, what is interesting if he could drop a little clue as to avoid spilling his life, and with her question of curiosity; Gotcha, she took the bait. Clearing his throat, he simply nodded as he tells her back, “I fell in love with a book, such a romance I could be as i wrote every single feeling I had. Night and day,” May laughed at the sound of his ridicolousness, “Of course, I’m only kidding. Love is not lost as I do love to write. But there is truth in every word, and it is a fact that I loved. Tragedy, of course, but love happened.”
“You do?” May questioned, probably to know a little more about her and her background a bit. A bit tiring since it was all about him and never hers, why does he have to be the only one opening up? Adding to the sentence, he says, “Spare me the tragedies, we came here to talk about sunlight not the dawn of evening where the monsters thrive in. If you can, I might be able to tell you a little tidbit of my love. Love that is conditional, of course.”
