“Oh, you startled me,”
Saga took a small step back. She felt despicable that she had startled the girl. She hoped she didn’t upset them. Her worries lessened as she got distracted by how cool the goggles looked.

“Nice to meet you,Saga, my name is Moon.”
“What is it you would like to know?”
“Well, you just answered the name one I had,” Saga chuckled, “Great to meet you too, Moon. May I say, that name sounds absolutely wonderful! Anyways, my first question is, did you notice anything interesting with those beakers? Second question, what’s under your robe? Is it a snake? or perhaps a bunch of pencils? Third question, how many questions is too many questions?” Saga nervously stepped around Moon as she watched for Moon’s reaction.

Moon smiled and nodded, “Thank you, my father gave me that name,” She chuckled. “No, I don’t think I did. Was I supposed to?” Moon’s expression suddenly seemed to darken at the second question. Don’t use the murder stick, don’t use the murder stick… She thought as she thought about her father’s staff, he had given to her. She inhaled deeply and a grimaced smile spread across her face, “It’s a tail.” She said through her teeth. “Two questions, too many.” She replied to the last one.

Saga’s eyes widened as she backpedalled a bit. Her stomach sank at the realization that she already angered the first person she met. She glued her eyes to the ground and tried shifting her hair over her face to cover it. “S-sorry, I just was curious and wanted to know. Sorry that it offended you so. I-I think tails are really cool if that’s any consolation… but, I won’t continue to pester the issue. Again, I’m really sorry. I can try and help with that homework… if you’d like. Sorry,” Saga said. Saga clasped her hands and held them at her chest. She wished to make up her mistake to Moon in any way she could. Saga was also angry at herself for upsetting them. She could tell she had crossed the line.

Basic Chemythstry

Moon narrowed her eyes. Poor girl, she looks like she’s about to cry…perhaps I should console her so I don’t draw any more attention…? Moon exhaled through her nose, still exasperated, “It’s fine, it’s fine. Would you like to meet my pet monkey? She always cheers me up, maybe she’ll do the same for you.” Moon hopped off the stool and left the science lab; she walked to the end of the hall where a door was leading outside. “Please wait here a moment while I go and find her.” Moon went outside and disappeared from sight, after looking around and checking that nobody was around to see her, Moon turned into her true form. She decided to wait a few minutes as to not seem to suspicious before heading back.

Five minutes later, a short female monkey approached the doors eating a peach. She tilted her head then seemed to look the girl up and down. She then screeched and hopped up and down as if she wanted to get inside.

A burst of laughter came from Kristi, "I don’t regret anything, I’ve never regretted except maybe when I failed to torture my enemies but I’m sure that’s not what you meant. " Quill didn’t know if she should smile or let a worried expression cross her face. “Yeah, not quite.” Quill added as Kristi continued to laugh hysterically.

My parents sent me here for killing people behind their backs” Quill honestly knew she’d have to get used to this, “My mom is very dramatic when it comes to stuff like this” Quill teased, “Oh yeah. That’s so dramatic.” Quill knew why she accepted the letter, but didn’t think it was really safe to tell anyone why. “Does it matter if you even kill anyone? I heard someone say once ‘every choice a god makes, is the right choice.’ Even if it doesn’t line up with human morals.”

Yeah, not quite.” Kristi snorted, “I thought so too” . Kristi looked at the ground before laying down, putting her hand over her head for protection. “The sky looks beautiful today” Kristi commented, looking at a cloud that looked like a knife.

“Does it matter if you even kill anyone? I heard someone say once ‘every choice a god makes, is the right choice.’ Even if it doesn’t line up with human morals.” Kristi rolled her eyes, "Not when it comes to Ekwensu, he is recognized as the god of evil so his choices wouldn’t really be seen as the ‘right choice’. Also I don’t really know if I, Krist could be considered a god. I’m higher than a demigod that’s for sure but what am I? "

"I’m higher than a demigod that’s for sure but what am I? " Quill thought for a second, “A deity? I don’t really know how any of that works.” Quill put her hand near her mouth to play with her piercings. “It’s strange to me how a demigod gets involved with a god of evil. I mean, love is love I guess.” Quill took a deep breath, but stopped mid breath “that’s not offensive is it? Your parents can love whoever, or whatever.” Quill panicked the last part a bit

*“A deity? I don’t really know how any of that works.” Krist nodded she also didn’t know how all this worked, she didn’t even know she was immortal but she did know she was f^cking strong. “It’s strange to me how a demigod gets involved with a god of evil. I mean, love is love I guess.” especially when that demigod is a pure innocent bean, seriously she never understood their relationship but as blueberry said love is love. “that’s not offensive is it? Your parents can love whoever, or whatever.” Quill said in a panicked tone and Kristi chuckled, “Don’t worry I won’t kill you, it’s not offensive and I also do wonder how they got together.”

Oh, I come from a land, from a faraway place where caravan camels roam

Where it’s flat and immense and the heat is intense

It’s barbaric, but hey, it’s home.

“WHO DISTURBS MY-” Grotto yawned, “-sleep?” He blinked and looked around. When he did he noticed a merchant on a camel. “Oh, it’s him again.” Grotto listened and sung along with the chorus, he actually quite enjoyed the song, just not the hour in which the merchant chose to sing it.

Come on down stop on by

Hop a carpet and fly

To another Arabian night!

Grotto watched the traveling merchant ride until his voice became softer and softer until silence once again fell on the dunes. Grotto was about to go back to sleep when a flying carpet arrived, holding a package with its tassels. It seemed to jump up and down before setting it down and flying off. Grotto sighed, “No, no, allow me.” He rolled his eyes and shook his head before closing them. The sand around him began to swirl until the mound of sand in the shape of a young lion’s head was replaced with a teenage boy. He walked over and picked up the parcel.

Dear Grotto of Antiquities,
Congratulations, student! Our systems have verified that you are indeed a child of a fairytale character, and are now inviting you to Once Upon a High! Once Upon a High is a boarding school specifically for the offspring of characters from myths, nursery rhymes, and fairytales. If you choose to attend, you will be met with luxurious dorms and meals, and the best staff in the kingdom. Classes have been specially prepared to suit the needs of each attending student, whether they be royal or commoner. No tuition is needed, just this letter to prove you are the child of a fairytale character.
We hope to see you soon,
Headmaster Grimm & Staff

Grotto raised an eyebrow, “Don’t they know that I’m a sand dune?” He sighed, “And I’m talking to myself.” He checked the date, “Of course it’s late, carpets just don’t understand urgency.” He used the spell to open a portal and stepped through.

Once he had arrived he checked the rest of the letter and found his locker. He was going toward it when he accidentally bumped into someone.

Ji-Woo was headed to Kingdom management, walking down the hallway. Why did he need this class? He wasn’t royalty, and thank god he wasn’t. If he was, he was positive his mother’s head would explode from her inflated ego. He loved his mother, but she needed to be taken down a peg. He was so lost in thought that he didn’t see the boy in front of him. His books flew everywhere, and he began to quickly pick them up. “I’m so sorry! Are you ok?”

“It’s fine, it’s fine. Would you like to meet my pet monkey? She always cheers me up, maybe she’ll do the same for you.”
Saga looked up at her. Moon still looked upset, which made Saga not want to say anything. She was more concerned with how Moon felt but maybe Moon gets joy from helping others like she does.

“Please wait here a moment while I go and find her.”
Saga began to worry after Moon was gone for more than a minute. “I hope I didn’t just cause her to skip class cause of my stupids comments,” Saga sighed as she kept eyeing the door.

When the monkey approached the door, Saga let out a relieved sigh. Then she realized they were alone. She blinked at the screeching and opened the door. “Are you Moon’s monkey, little one?” Saga asked.

Grotto narrowed his eyes and looked at the boy up and down, he had gotten used to judging humans and was determined to do so at this new school. Humans lie, cheat, steal, covet, and so many more things that made them unworthy. However, those who recognize what they do is wrong and try to better themselves are perhaps the most interesting. It was just something about the whole determining worthiness thing that made it so thought provoking. Had an evil sorcerer created his father instead, perhaps the way in which he judged worthiness would be a completely different scale. He continuing staring for a moment before finally replying, “Yes, I’m fine.” He picked up the books the boy had dropped. “Kingdom Management? You are a royal? …No, not a royal. Then tell me, why attend a class you have no reason to be in?”

Hall

Moon walked in, her little monkey feet pattering on the tile floor. She looked up at the girl and crawled up her left leg, going up her body in a spiral motion before coming to a stop on her shoulder. She sat down and continued eating her peach. When she finished, she pulled out another one and was about to eat it when she stopped. She looked at the girl, then at peach, back to the girl, and the peach again. She crawled onto the Saga’s arm pressed it into her hand. She then crawled all over Saga, hanging upside down from her arm, messing up her hair, and just all around being playful before resting on the girl’s right shoulder.

Ji-woo nodded when the boy said he was ok. “Ok, good. I’m sorry for knocking into you.” He said, taking the books the boy had picked up, thanking him. He raised an eyebrow when the boy was able to correctly deduce that he wasn’t a royal. “You’re right. The school still thinks I should take the class for some reason, so here I am. Let’s just hope This doesn’t go to my mom’s head. If it gets any bigger, her head will explode.”

Saga shifted her weight to her right leg as the monkey started climbing. She wasn’t sure exactly what was happening as it ventured to her shoulder so, she stayed relatively still. She felt the push into her hand, looking at the peach. Saga never had a peach and was unsure how to eat it, so she just took one big bite. Her eyes lit up with surprise and delight. Saga giggled as the monkey clambered all over her. After it stopped, Saga took a moment to look at her peach.

Saga sighed and dug her nails into the peach, cutting it in half, one side without a bite and the other with her bitemark. She didn’t mind that some liquid had gotten on her hands. Instead, their focus was on thinking about Moon. She held the unbitten peach up next to the monkey. “If you can, could you give this half to Moon? I fear I upset her, and I don’t know her well enough to help make her feel better. So, I hope this peach will, and maybe you could try cheering her up however you can? Wait… I don’t know if they can understand me,” Saga sighed, “Well, if you can… I’ll be so bold to beg of you to clean up my mess and cheer her up. Please and thank you.”

Advanced Chemythstry

Merthiel’s head was high and proud as she entered a classroom with nothing but a nearly-finished cracker by her rosy lips. Chemythstry. By the wit of this word, she expected that she would excel at this subject, and so she took the advanced classes for it. A small smirk arrived to her face when she saw the other students had something to bring whereas her hands were empty, especially now that she has already dusted off the excess crackers on her uniform—and yes, today, she was a good girl.

She figured she had to do a good impression on everyone, making it look like she is someone not to be messed with. To add on to that, it was also a tire to bring something while she walked all day to these massive halls. What was the way she devised? She simplified a spell so that she could use it even in the morning, though limited, to transport things through magic. And as you might have guessed, it’s successful… probably.

There was still one free table, though it was further in the back that what she would’ve preferred. Shrugging, she took it while hoping no one would have the guts to sit beside her.

“Mm… what do you say we run away from here? Maybe explore the school a bit and find that cafe we were talking about?” She didn’t have a problem playing hooky. Missing a class wouldn’t hurt. The Ahnvi in the past wouldn’t even imagine skipping classes. But, well, people change over time. In her case, it wasn’t good. No one wants to turn in a brat, do they?

“Only just an unknown prince.” She didn’t expect that. Talking, no, flirting with an actual prince? Oh, she had hit the jackpot. Just a prince? Are you kidding me?!” She felt a bit offended. “That’s so…” she couldn’t find the right word to describe how she was feeling about him being royalty. Finally, she settled for “-cool.” Yeah, that worked. Ahnvi felt slightly jealous. Growing up in an extravagant castle, doing anything you wanted, being looked up at and being loved by the people. It was the kind of life Ahnvi wanted. Sure, she lived in a grand house with everything too. But it wasn’t enough for her.

Pushing her thoughts away, she brought her attention to him. “Hey, what’s wrong?” he asked. “Uh, nothing, you can continue.” she flashed him a charming smile and moved closer again. “Maybe just maybe, I am interested.” Ahnvi smirked in satisfaction. “I thought so,” she said to herself. She noticed him leaning closer. “Hm… where were we again?” she asked softly, staring into his dark eyes.

Cece woke up in the morning and smirked. A new day in a new place. I wonder what manner of hot guys, I’ll run into. She got up and went to shower before the thought hit her. What if they lie to you and cheat on you again? For a moment her confidence wavered, until she remembered her new life philosophy. Right, I momentarily forgot. I’ll simply dump them before they get the chance and turn any man who has the audacity to reject me into… Cece thought for a moment, She liked to vary the animal forms she cursed men with, for nothing but her personal enjoyment because the same forms every time would soon get boring. She gasped, "Oooh, I know, I’ll turn him into a dog, cursed to obey their owners commands. That will teach them not to reject me!* Cece hopped out of the shower and slipped on her favorite dress. She quickly did her hair and makeup before turning her attention to a brew she secretly started working on last night.

An infatuation potion, she prided herself on her ability to catch men herself, but a little aid never hurt anything especially in a new school. She brewed the potion for another minute before adding one more ingredient that made the final product a mist rather than a liquid. She captured the mist in a perfume bottle and gently sprayed it on herself. It was enchanted to smell like a memory, like a small group of lavender petals gently carried on a warm summer breeze, the scent then seemed to flow with the breeze and change smoothly from lavender to fresh white linen washed and hung out to dry. A little girl was running, and giggling as she followed the lavender petals home…Cece blinked and shook her head, “I’m gonna be late.” She had looked through her roommate’s things and shook her head at what she saw. Cece didn’t understood how humans could live with only one perfume scent at a time and so strong too. She preferred subtle hints, yes the scents were still there just not as strong. Cece rushed out the door but not before a passing glance at her potion textbooks and books on potions for her spare time caught her eye. She hesitated, No, not on the first day. Not ever, I will be pretty and beautiful and even dumb if I have to, as long as I can get the men’s attention.

Cece entered the room followed by a group of guys following her like love-sick puppies. They swarmed the room and made everything in their path perfect for her. They found a seat next to a girl and set Cece gently down in it before staring at her with dumb-struck faces before the teacher shooed them out. Cece turned to find a girl sitting next to her and decided on the facade of pretty popular girl rather than powerful sorceress. “Hi, I’m Cece! What’s your name?” Cece said perkily before mentally gagging, Ugh, I hate this part so much.

Azziz Van Helsing

Azziz walked out into the clear, warm day, the sunlight glinting off the layers of a lightly forested area and clinging to his skin. He sighed, ready to search out this area as he assumed she would be out at night. As he went on, the forest became slightly denser with leaves and trees. He kept an eye on the form of the landscape, which he knew wouldn’t change dramatically, as well as the trees. He was well aware that he needed to get to work. He couldn’t will time to stop just because he wanted it to.

Somewhere in Azziz’s vision stood a towering tree, with a trunk nearly the size of the the wine barrel, with majestic branches bending down to greet passersby and still more higher. The almost silver bark splintered, exposing a golden layer underneath. Azziz went to reach out to touch it. As he brushed his hand over the bark, he noticed something that didn’t seem to be leaves nor branch. He looked up after repositioning himself in a new role. Is that…a person? he squinted. Azziz hoped it was a student because, while he could kill a monster if necessary, he didn’t want to risk getting in trouble with not only the school, but especially his father.

Azziz cupped his hands over his mouth. “Hey, how’d you get up there?”

Grotto nodded curtly in response to the boy’s thanks. “Perhaps the majority of the student body is royalty?” Grotto surmised. Ariadne smiled graciously as Bay did her best to pronounce her name. Bay wondered if she was just being kind, or if she was pleased that Bay had pronounced it right. Just as she was about to determine it was the latter, Ariadne spoke. “Close enough.” This meant she was wrong, no? Bay huffed lightly, not pleased with being wrong a second time. “You can call me Ari if you’d like, though.” She offered. Ari… that was close to her mother’s name. Bay was not on great terms with her mother. “Alrighty, Ari! You can just call me Bay, I don’t really think that can be shortened. Unless you want to call me ‘Ba’.” Bay finally decided, a bright expression on her face. She giggled at the last sentence. She looked confused-Ariadne didn’t seem to know her own age. Was she one of those people who’d never had a birthday party?! “Nineteen? Wow, you’re pretty old. I’m only sixteen.” Bay chattered, unaware of how any of that could come off as rude.

Ariadne sighed. “Yep, that’s him.” She confirmed, as Bay continued to stare obviously. “Like a tree.” Ariadne agreed, still hiding behind her. Bay giggled, imagining this. He really was similar to a tree-he even had brown hair like bark. “Or like a very tall strand of kelp!” She suggested, trying to get in on the fun. Ariadne looked at her. “I’m pretty sure, yeah.” She sure did seem unsure about a lot of things. “Well, you’d better hope so! Also, don’t worry, I forget a lot of things too! You know, this is only the second year I’ve been on land? I’ve lived in the ocean all of my life.” Technically, Bay had lived on land a few years after she was born. But she didn’t really count these years, since she couldn’t even remember them.
