I was excited for Antlers!
Oh this seems interesting! Is it out yet?
Pretty sure it got cancelled. Rip.
Cool ! I see they are going to pick the Wendigo as the movies villain which is always interessanting to see. Knowing the legend of the monster before hand I wonder if the boy in the movie might result to cannibalism or not ?
I seriously doubt that because the movie seems to be mostly finished and by not releasing it in any way shape or form will lose the company tons of money.
Because the way these companies make their money back is by releasing it to the public .And seeing as Guillermo Del Torro is involved as well . I doubt they plan on cancelling the whole thing. It’s most likely just delayed not cancelled
I didnt hear anything about canceled. I think (hope) just postponed becauee of corona.
Yes that.
What are you guys opinion on the found footage subgenre within horror movies?
Found footage is a film subgenre in which all or a substantial part of the work is presented as if it were discovered film or video recordings. The events on screen are typically seen through the camera of one or more of the characters involved, often accompanied by their real-time, off-camera commentary.
Some famous examples of found footage movies
- Cloverfield
- The Blair witch project
- Paranormal Activity
- As above So below
- Creep
- [REC]
- Grave encounters
- Cannibal Holocaust
- The visit
It really depends on the movie. The first Paranormal Activity and [REC] are pretty great, but then you have movies like Cannibal Holocaust and The Visit. It all just depends on the director, I think. That’s what made Creep stand out for me. The directing was so visceral.
Agreed it’s all about how you make use of the medium and sometimes it ends up boring and dragged out while other times it ends up suspenseful and realistic.
I think that another reason Creep stood out from all the other films I have listed above. Is because besides just the way the film had been directed it also had a very limited cast in a semi-realistic situation. Most horror films that make use of the handheld medium tend to be about some unknown creature causing terror.
Horror films are rad
I haven’t watched too many but I do like them
recommendations are always welcome
8/10, because if I get a jumpscare that scares me so bad I’m afraid I might pass out- (I havent yet)
I’m pretty brave, I just hope that never happens.
Science fiction horror like (Alien 1978/The invisible man 1930) , psychological horror and natural.
Yes I do! It’s Jason!
I’m sick of characters tripping over air. Then again when you are scared it is common to loose your cool. I like seeing jumpscares it’s really fun!
Maybe the red house?
Ooh love those films. Well maybe unfriended not so much, but Perfect blue, Belko experiment and Carrie are great <3
Not really, if it’s a good movie then sure I don’t care about most scares
Tbh, even though they’re never good now, just slashers
Honestly, real life horror stories get me the most. Not based on real life but the ones where it’s happened and you’re told what happened.
Gotta be jason. He’s just the best unstoppable villain.
I can name a few. But probably every single character being so stupid you genuinely question how they even survived the first 5 minutes
Tbh, unfriended is pretty good. Also train to busan
And babysitter’s a good comedy horror. Same with cabin in the woods.
Needing ideas on different horror themed shows/movies to watch. I am a huge horror fan and lately it seems they aren’t coming out with anything good anymore. I just watched Midnight Man on hulu and it was better than what i expected. I’ve also seen all the insidious films. Those I have enjoyed. However, i have also seen movies liker Hereditary that was claimed to be “the best horror film of the year” when it came out but was actually horrible. I’m open to any new type of horror as well as the classics.
Is this based on the midnight man ghost game thing? Or is it separate?
Added horror and film tags
It’s different, I didn’t know there was a game. The monster in the movie is a pagan entity that comes from a “game”.
Yeah there’s a ritual game you can do sorry if I made it sound like a video game (although there are some based off it)
Oh! Totally thought you meant video game. What is a ritual game?
