“It is the best,” she remarked about Tajin, “after class I will run to the market and get us some fresh fruit, so you can also get a taste of this magical combination.” While Izzy had mostly been raised in the States, the Latina couldn’t be taken out of her, and part of that was in being very generous and wanting any of her guests to feel welcomed. Especially a guest such as Greer, a friend she really cared about. Of course she was going to get even more ingredients. Of course she was going to make her friend taste some more authentic Mexican flavours. Of course she would make that effort, not a doubt in her mind.
When Greer said they thought Izzy was a great cook, she replied “Heh, well, I’ll try not to burn down the kitchen while we’re at it!” she added a playful chuckle, acknowledging her tendency to create culinary chaos. “But seriously, you’re too kind. I can promise you a flavorful adventure, even if things get a little chaotic along the way!”
“And I’m super thrilled you’re interested in my sketches! It means a lot coming from you,” Izzy exclaimed, her eyes lighting up at the mention of her artwork. “I can’t wait to share them with you! Who knows, maybe we’ll even get some artistic inspiration cooking up those tacos,” she added with a playful wink.
Izzy’s grin widened at the sight of Greer’s beaming smile, “Absolutely! Home is where the heart is, and with friends like you, it feels like home is everywhere,” she remarked, her voice carrying a sense of belonging and appreciation for their friendship. Izzy, while she deeply cared about her family, the people she was related too, she also believed in chosen family and the power of friendship.
