The rain was pelting their backs and lashing at their faces. It was had to make out anything into front of them. It was Lucan who suggested digging a hole for any of their possessions that would conduct electricity, and he, Thia, and Patrin got to work. They make quick progress. When it deep enough, they all threw in their metals. Kiya suggested covering it with Patrin’s waterproof cape, which the pair secured tightly over the hole while the other three made shelter from branches and leaves between two low-hanging trees. They all huddled together under it.
