I follow him down the stairs sighing he was right I had been trying to distract him so we wouldn’t go at least not yet. I giggle and shake my head shivering as soon as we get outside I pulled my hood up and tight around me. “You sure I can’t talk you in to turning around and going back inside?” I ask as I smile at him

I shrugged. “I’m not going to force you to do anything” I said. "So if yiu really want to go back, please go back…“I tell him genuinely before holding out my hand.” But I would love for yiu to come along"I said with a smile, though it was hidden behind my mask that I had put on again.

I take his hand. “Im coming you smooth flirt.” I say as I lean my head on him while we walk I was cold but I would survive the walk to the corner store hopefully. “What do we need to get from the grocery?” I asked as I lean into him a little seeking out any warmth from him I could.

I chuckle as he called me a smooth flirt. He hud a little behind me so I caught the wind and hugged ne for some warmth. one day I’m buying this guy pocket warmers - I thought as we slowly made our way forward. With the string wind and the slippery snow, it was hard to move forward.

“Well, We need…” I started as we were almost at the store, when my foot slipped so in order to not drag us both down, I held on to Archer for dear life. When I was steady again I started to chuckle. “Looks like we made it in one piece” I joked as I still had my arms around him.

I was not pleased with how cold it was and the wind only made it colder out. Genosta was pretty warm so keeping him close felt really nice. I tried to help catch Genosta but I was worried I would go down with him. The sidewalk was slick. “Yeah lets keep you in one piece.” I say as I hold his hand and walk into the store. “Ok so what do we need and Ill pick up a few extra thing while we are here.” I say as I smile and brush some snow off his mask where it had collected.

“Lets see, I need shrimps, asperges, garlic, lemon, herbs and butter. And as a reward, get a milk chocolate bar and milk as well” I said with a grin and gave his hand a squeeze. “Should we also buy food for tomorrow in case it’s going to be the sane weather” I asked.

I smile as I hear him list off food it sounded delicious and it was things I hadn’t had in a really long time. “That all sounds delicious Genosta.” I say as I hold his hand and a basket as we look for what he listed off. “Yeah we should probably get groceries for a few days. Especially because I think it is suppose to be crummy for a few days.” I say as I squeeze his hand back and smile.

“I guess we’ll find out tonight if it is” I just said jokingly as we walked through the store. We were holding hands which I liked, but it also made me very aware of the few other people that were present right now. In this city, things like this could get you in trouble if seen by the wrong person.
I looked back when I felt Archer’s squeeze in my hand. “Then we’ll get some different stuff and as well” I said.

I giggle and lean my head on him. “Don’t worry im sure it will be great Genosta.” I say as I smile and look for what we needed in the store. He seemed a little uncomfortable that I was holding his hand. “Genosta you all good if you want me to not hold your hand that’s fine just let me know.” I told him as I grabbed some garlic when I saw it. I didn’t know why he seemed worried that I was holding his hand but I didn’t want him to feel forced. “Ok if you find something you think looks good then grab it, We will eat it sometime this week… probably.”

I nodded and grabbed a few different types of meat, vegetables and a small sack potatoes since they were heavy and it wasn’t the best condition to carry them outside. “Sorry about that, it’s more the city ad what type of people live here than anything else” I explain and gave his hand a squeeze.

I put milk and some eggs and bread in the basket because those were things it was always nice to have on hand. “No its fine I just didn’t want you to feel uncomfortable ad stuff.” I say as I smile and look for the things he said we needed. "Well lets get what you said you needed then we can go back in and get a few things for the rest of the time we will probably be stuck indoors. "

I smiled at him. “Thabks Archer, but don’t misunderstand and think that I’m ashamed to be seen in public with you, because I am not. I just know what type of people walk around these streets and I don’t want you to be hurt” I tell him and grab the last things. “I think that’s everything” I tell him.

“Gensosta I didn’t think that you were ashamed to be seen with me for even a second I just wanted you comfortable.” I say as I smile at him and pull my hat down some as I grab a few last things and walk to the check out with him. “Yeah that should be everything.”

I smiled at him. “Good, but just to make sure” I tell him and then we check out and leave the store. The wind was a lot calmer now which was good, but it was still snowing pretty hard. “Looks like we won’t be able to use the plastic bags as sails” I joked as we walked out and I took his hand while I carried the bag.

You would think a 5 minute walk wouldn’t be that bad but here, things just don’t like to be simple.

“Oh look who we have hear, the boy who got away yesterday” a male voice said. “Sorry to interrupt you guy… I mean gay’s walk” He added.

I smiled humming softly as we walked back home with our groceries. I was still holding Genosta’s hand and I smiled at him. I was trying to keep form falling in the ice and wind. I giggled softly at his little sail joke and just kept on the way home. It was then wen a few guys crossed the street towards us. I held Genosta’s hands tighter and walked faster as I had him put his head down. It was the guys who had left him bloody and beat in the first place. I took a deep breath as I heard their comment. “Go home I will handle this.” I whisper to Genosta. “Well actually Im Bisexual and I don’t think my sexuality has anything to do with you so good bye.” I say as I keep walking.

“No” I just said. “I’m not leaving you here to handle punks like them on your own,” I tell him and the other guys started to laugh while they block our way. “Oh this one has a little sas, you think we care if you kiss men or if you are even more desperate to do everyone?” He asked and this angered me. “is someone getting angry now that we’re insulting his little boyfriend?” another guy asked. “Why do you all waste your life on us after one bump?” I asked and the started to laugh. “You got away,” The main guy said and suddenly threw a punch at me while two of his friends grabbed Archer. I stumbled back as I got another punch, this time in my stomach. “and people like you, who hide behind a mask, tick me off the most” he said with a grin.

I held Genosta closer before the guys pushed us apart and I started to panic reaching in my pocket for the knife I kept there. The guys started to freak out when they grabbed me and I tried to get away from them. “Stop it now! Im not some h0e Im not trying to get with everyone I am just being me let me go and stop hurting him!” I yelled as I panicked and kicked. I wanted free and I was almost crying as I saw them beat Genosta. “Stop hurting him!” I was screaming and our groceries were all over the sidewalk. “Just leave us alone.” I was trying to get them to turn their attention to me. I was really tempted to yell what we were always told to at the orphanage “FIRE!!!” people always liked to see a fire over two guys being beat up a call of fire garnered more help then yelling help always and that was a simple fact. But the streets were pretty empty because of the weather so even that was a long shot.

I wasn’t too concerned about getting beaten up, frankly, I was kind of used to it, but seeing Archer this scared and them just laughing at it, was hitting me harder than any of their punches. I got a kick in my stomach which made me fall over, but I used it to grab the bag and everything that was still in it before getting up again and running to Archer. One guy tried to throw a punch at him so I quickly pulled Archer away, making him hit my arm instead, but I didn’t care and punched him back before pulling Archer with me. “There’s no reasoning with people like them” I just told him butterly while running. I looked back and saw them following us, looking furious so I dragged Archer into the cafe and straight to the stairs. Public places like these were like safe havens, they don’t try anything because too many people are watching.

Out of breath, I sat down on the stairs while holding my stomach. I looked up at Archer and removed my mask. With a frown, I looked at him and took a hand. “Are you okay?” I asked him, did they hurt you? "I added worriedly

I was scared and worried I had always blended in enough that no one even knew I existed let alone tried to start anything with me. This was something that I want really used to. I had received a few punches and kicks as the guys held me but I saw Genosta push them away and I wrapped my arms around him as we ran with what groceries we had left. I tried to calm myself down as we got in the cafe and up the stairs but I was still worried about Genosta and freaked out. I locked my door and then hugged him tight. I was still holding my pocket knife in my hand it was shaking just like the rest of me though. “Im ok I think.” I said as I let everything I was holding fall on the floor and hold him tight. “Are you alright??” I ask as I rub my thumb on a not black part of his face.

I held him close as he was shaken up. “I’m fine, I think, they got off some nasty hits in my stomach, but I’ll live” I reassured him honestly. “They are gone now” I tell him as I kept holding him as long as needed. I stroked his back as I felt anger towards the guys for upsetting Archer. “We’re okay” I shushed him, trying to calm him down as I felt him tremble in my arms.

I was shaken up but felt better with his arms wrapped around me and took deep breaths. “Let me see you stomach make sure there is no bruising and stuff. I have bruises too but I will be fine.” I say as I run my fingers through his hair. “I know they are gone for now.” I let him rub my back it was calming and felt relaxing. “I know Im ok your ok but they are around here and know where we live now.”

“They saw us get into an cafe, that’s all, if needed I will go outside in a little but as a bird, go into a different house and then fly back just to set them up, but later” I reassured him and was a bit hasitent, not really because of the bruising that I knew was there, but if I did, Archer would see just how far the decaying was spread out.
In the end I did take off my shirt so he could check since i trusted him and didn’t want to hide it from him either.

“Oh Genosta.” I say as I see him take his shirt off and see how far the black skin spread down his body. “Does it all hurt you?” I asked as I held his hand. I didn’t want him to be in pain his whole life he didn’t deserve that. I wanted him happy and everything. I wanted that perfect dream with him even though I knew it was nothing more than a dream. “I do think you might have a broken rib though.” I say as I stand up and lean my head on his shoulder. I knew this was what loving and caring for someone felt like but I just was hoping he felt the same way.

I looked down at my own chest and frowned. “I’m not sure to be honest, lets see if the bruising goes away in a few days, if now, we can let it get checked in the hospital or something” I suggested. I then held his hand as be rested his head on my shoulder. “As for the blackness, have you ever had a consistent pain somewhere, that after a little while it just felt heavy and numb?” I asked. “Like you knew the pain was there, but you don’t feel it?” I added. "That’s what this feels like, I know it’s there, I just don’t feel it anymore except for little occasional waves.

“That sounds kind of horrible Genosta.” I said as I held him close when he talked about the blackness. “Lets put the groceries away then I want to hold you. You worry me.” I say as I keep him close and grab the bags. “I locked the door if anyone tries anything.”

“It’s not as bad as it sounds, it just feels like an pressure on my skin all day, nothing more” I reassured him and started helping him with putting away the groceries. In the end we only got the chocolate and the ingredients for tonight. “Looks like were going to have to buy groceries again tomorrow, but we’ll go somewhere else” I said and took his hand firmly. “Be honest with me Archer, are you scared for your safety right now?” I asked him.

I helped put the stuff for dinner in the fridge and and shook my head when I heard Genosta’s question. “No that’s not why I was scared. I was scared for your life and I dont know I’m just not used to that kind of thing. I am plain enough I get lost in the crowd easily usually and it’s just strange I guess. It was scary but no I wasnt scared for my life.”

I sigh and pulled him to me. “I meant, are you scared of them coming here?” I asked with a frown before I take him to the couch. “Because I don’t want you to be scared while you are here” I said and pulled him in a hug. “Sorry” I then tell him. As I slowly pull away a sharp pain shoots through my stomach and I let out a his. “One good thing came out of this tho” I saod with an sour chuckle through the pain. “I can’t sleep as a bird like this, and sleeping together will reassure us both” I said with a grin.

I sigh unsure if I was scare of them coming or not. “I honestly don’t know if im scared of them coming here.” I replied as I shifted so I didn’t hurt him but we were still touching. I laid my head in his lap and grabbed the blanket on the couch cuddling up with it. I hold his hand as I lay on his lap. “No its ok I will get you ice in a minute I just need to calm myself a little first.” I rub little circles on the back of his hand with my thumb as I try and clam us both a little. “Good well not good you’re hurt like that but good that your sleeping with me in my bed.” I say as I keep rubbing the little circles on the back of his hand.

I let out a chuckle. “Are you sure you didn’t ask them just to get me to sleep with you?” I asked with a grin. “I mean, I know you believe I’m tough enough for a few punches and of couse, I am, but I had already agreed to it before” I saod and poked his nose as I looked down on him. “No need for ice, you here works better” I then said with a smile and I started to stroke his hair.

“Gen I wouldn’t do something like that.” I say as I cuddle with him. I smiled his grin made me feel at ease and I really needed that right now. I was still a bit shaken up about the situation. “I know you agreed before and that is one of only billions of reasons that I would never hire someone to do what those thugs did.” I giggled when he poked my nose. I smiled as he played with my hair. “Gen really if you need ice just let me know and then I can get it and cuddle more.”

I smiled. “I know you wouldn’t” I reassured him. “They are just sad punks who feel the need to prove they aren’t as pathetic as they really are by stepping down on others, and those who are different are easy targets,” I said with a sigh before putting a hand on my stomach. it was slightly painful but ignored it. “I think it’s fine for now, if I stay like it’s pretty manageable” I tell him with a smile.

I hold his hand and cuddle in I wanted him to feel better. “Gen I know I just want you safe ok I know its hard to stay safe with the types of people around here but I want you safe with me.” I say as I rub my thumb in small circles on his hand. “We should watch a movie or something honestly we should both shower again I got a bloody nose from bing hit and I an sure you are at least dirty if not bloody yourslf.”

I giggle and cuddle in more. “I mean I can’t argue with that. Your right cuddling is pretty nice.” I say as I take a deep breath and kiss his lips then lay back in his lap. I knew I had either really messed up doing that or I had done the right thing there was no gray area with what I had just done.

I was taken back by his sudden action and kind of froze. “I…” I started while still being confused and my head just went blank after that one word. But it didn’t feel wrong, in fact, it felt okay. I took a deep breath and smiled at him. “Sorry…you just…you know…took my by surprise” I said with a chuckle.

I blush and nod as I get up. He was being polite I was definitely the one that just messed everything up. I headed to the bathroom I shouldn’t have done that. I messed up. I should have kept my emotions to myself. I took deep breaths trying to calm myself down. How could I have misread signals that badly? I thought he was interested. I thought to myself as I sat on the bathroom floor.

I was confused when got up and walked away. I could see him blush, but he also looked hurt. I thought for a second before I realized I made it sound like I politely rejected him. I slowly got up and made my way to the bathroom where Archer was sitting. I let out a sigh before crouching down next to him. “I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. Let me rephrase it” I said softly before I gently made him look at me and I softly pressed my lips on his.

I looked up at Genosta with teary eyes as he tilted my head up. When he kissed me again I blushed and wrapped my arms around his waist as I kissed him back softy and pulled him into my lap. “I thought I had messed everything up I thought you were going to leave.” I was still panicking slightly and I just cuddled in as words spilled from my mouth. “Im glad that you feel the same way that I do because I don’t want to loose you.”

“You’re not” I just tell him before kissing him again but shortly. “Now calm down” I added before I continued, but staying in a bit of a curled position was starting to become extremely painful and I pulled away with a hiss. “sorry” I tell him. “but no, you’re not losing me, sorry I gave you that impression” I tell him with a smile as I get up while holding my stomach. “I might take some ice after all while you shower” I chuckle and pulled him up. “But seriously Arch, I’m not going anywhere” I reassured him with a smile.

I smile and nod as I hear him. “Honestly hearing that is a relief but yeah lets get you some ice and rest while I shower take it easy in my room ok.” I say as I smile and kiss his cheek as we walk to the kitchen. “Im trying to calm down and Im sorry I just have a little bit of abandonment issues.” I admitted as I bit my lip. “I have icepacks in my freezer.” I say as I pull a big one out. “Here baby now go lay in bed with this while I shower please.”

I let out a sigh as I follow him. “It’s totally fine, I’ll try to be more careful, just know I’m not good at expressing these types of emotions” I tell him as I sat down on the bed with another his. “Okay, I will, but you should go shower now, I feel bad seeing that blood on you. it infuriates me to think someone did that to you” I said as I took the ice pack from him and layed down putting the ice on my stomach but the weight just made it hurt more so I moved on my side, hugging the ice pack slightly.

“No its fine Im not either and it can come out a little much when I do.” I say as I hold his hand as I softly press the icepack to his stomach. I smile at him and grab him some clean clothes. “Here if you need to change go ahead. Im going to shower so we can cuddle.” I say as I ruffle his hair and head to the bathroom. “Love you and just take it easy Gen.” I say as I pat his head and take my clean clothes.

“Thank you Arch,” I tell him for caring about my well being and the clothes. I felt happy to have met him because I never thought I would ever find someone who would actually love me, or make me fall in love with them. “You too…” I then mumbled trying to say I loved him too and everything but once again, I messed up and Archer had already moved to the bathroom for me to fix it. Uhg, way to go - I told myself before carefully changing my clothes while there was now nothing to distract me from the pain. “Shoot, they hit me hard” I mumbled as I closed my eyes to push back the pain before looking down to see my stomach purple and blue. I then changed into the clean clothes in turtle speed and with pain but ended up changing and then layed back down, hugging the ice-pack again and closing my eyes, feeling really tired.

“No problem at all Gen” I smiled as I headed to the bathroom I needed to clean up. I hurt but I knew Gen was in a lot more pain than I was. I wanted to clean up fast so I could be there to watch over him. I worried he was more hurt than he was letting on. This was what love was and I was glad it had been him he seemed to get me in a way that I hadn’t expected to ever be understood. I knew now that he loved me too even without words and I knew it would take time for him to say that out loud and I was fine with that. I showered and now as the hot water hit my body I realized they had gotten more good hits in on me than I had thought and my glasses were bent and nearly broken. I knew if I was in this much pain Gen was worse so I hurried to finish showering and change I wanted to get back to him. “Genossta are you really ok? Let me see how bruised your stomach is I want to make sure your not internally bleeding or something.”

I opened my eyes when I heard Archer’s voice. I was about to say that he shouldn’t worry and that I was fine, since it was my go-to respond, but stopped myself as I didn’t want it to look like I was hiding it from him. "It hurts, that’s all"I said and sighed before taking his hand. “I don’t want to hide it from you but I… I don’t want you to worry either” I saod before slowly turning on my back and pulling up my shirt and let out a little groan while doing so. “I think you might have been right about the broken rib” I said trying to add a chuckle with the pure purpose to keep even this in a light mood.

I sat in bed with im and held his hand. I smiled I could tell he was about to tell me he was fine and I was glad when he changed his tune. “I know it hurts Gen I just want to make sure its not something really bad ok. You took a real beating from them and I know that it wasn’t a light beating either.” I say as I look at the bruises and run my fingers where I thought the broken rib was. “Im guessing that hurt a lot because I thinking that is the rib that is broken.” I say as I kiss his cheek. I wanted him to feel safe. “Ok if it gets worse im taking you to a doctor I know you don’t like it but I couldn’t live with myself if it was more than a broken rib and it hurt you more,” I say as I lay down beside him and hold his hand. “Laughing hurt?” I ask as I hear him try and chuckle

I could feel his touch as if it was an electric shock, but it wasn’t a bad feeling per se. Even when he touched my bruised ribs, he kept it in a light touch which kept the pain to an absolute minimum and I felt grateful that he was so tender. I let out a sigh as he mentioned the doctor. “In normal cases I wouldn’t mind going to the doctor, but don’t forget my body is…my body looks like it does, I just expect that if I go in, they will not let me out because of my skin, you know?” I said and moved closer to him. “It only hurts when I’m in a certain angle, right now, it doesn’t” I reassured him. “Thanks for caring” I tell him and managed to give him a peck on his cheek without hurting my body.

I was trying to be gentle with him but I laid my head on his shoulder as I cuddled in a little. “Ill keep an eye on you but keep it iced Gen.” I say as I play with his hair. “Im only taking you to a doctor if it comes down to absolutely needing it for that reason. I don’t want them keeping you because of your skin when Im just concerned your bleeding internally.” I hold his hand and try relaxing back in. “Just take it easy and don’t worry about a doctor for now ok.” I smiled as he moved closer this was nice. Not the being hurt part but the closeness. “I will always care about you Genosta and the broken rib is to blame for why some angles hurt so much.” I cuddled in more after he kissed my cheek.

“Still I think this must be some kind of unfair rule. finding a person you care about so much that cares for you equally as much in return, only for us to get hurt 2 days later for being together” I said and rested my head against his shoulder. “But I don’t think I’m bleeding internally, maybe my bones got infected by the same stuff as my skin and just break faster” I said with a shrug. “It will heal…probably” I added and put one arm around him as I kept laying on my back since it was the most comfortable position but it did mean I couldn’t ice it.

“Hey things just happen but I am here and you have me and I have you so Im not all that worried that they got mad we were together.” I say as I play with his hair it was thick and a little wavy. “Im glad you don’t think your bleeding internally but lets just be careful while we rest up and head.” I say as I hold the icepack early on him so he would get some of the benefit of icing without the pressure of it laying on him. “You better heal I can’t have you this hurt for ever Gen.” I mumble as I cuddle in closer. “Do you need anything before we get too comfortable?”

I shook my head. “Nah, I’m good” I said and closed my eyes while we cuddled. “I have everything I need, right here” I said and could feel the chill of the icepack slightly. “Do you mind if we take a bit of a nap?” I asked as I let out a yawn. “I guess the excitement of going shopping with you has warn me out a little” I said, trying to focus more on the fun side of today, rather than being stuck in the spiral of the attack.

“Ok then Im cuddling in.” I say as I grab my blanket and cover us up. I saw him closing his eyes and knew he needed to rest anyway. “I have all I need to. You, blankets, and a bottle of water. Im set.” I say as I giggle and lay back with my head on his shoulder. “The icepack isn’t too close is it?” I ask as I kiss him again. “No nap away you deserve it.” I say as I cuddle close knowing full well I would probably end up fall ling asleep soon too. “I know I liked shopping with you a lot though.” I say as I rub my eyes.

I shook my head with a smile. “Nah it’s fine, I’m only worried that a cold person like you will stay cold with the icepack present” I joked, not trying to call him mean, but referring to how quickly he gets cold. “But if you, do, I’ll always be happy to be your personal heater, hurt or not,” I tell him and open my eye for a second to see him rubbing his own. “You should nap as well, things must have been exhausting for you as well,” I tell him and closed my eyes again, falling asleep quickly, feeling happy and safe with Archer by my side.

I smiled laughing at his little poke about how I was always cold. “Well If Im always cold I would love you as me personal heater.” I say as I snuggle in even higher and smile. I knew he didn’t mean cruel when he said cold he meant actually cold and honestly that he noticed that was kind of sweet. “I will. in just I bit. You nap and Im sure ill be right behind you.” I closed my eyes as we talked even though I was fully awake still.

“Hmm” I hummed. “You just have to ask,” I mumble and started to drift off. It was weird to fall asleep as a human, but sleeping as a bird could actually be fatal so I didn’t habe a choice. Then again, having Archer by my side made me feel safe and made it easier to fall asleep.

I opened my eyes to find the bed next to me empty. I got out of the bed and looked around to find Archer in the living room with a frown. Suddenly, everything seemed to be standing still, like everything was frozen in time. “You don’t deserve him” a voice whispered in my ear. I looked around hu no one was there. “And he soon he will realize this as well” The voice added. “You will always be alone,” It told me. “Just watch” It added

The time returned and Archer pointed at the door. “Get out,” He said and I felt my heart drop. “But Arch…“I said but he cut me off by yelling.” I SAID GET OUT”. I didn’t know why but I couldn’t argue about it. I was just hurt but didn’t dare to ask why, instead, I just walked out into the snow. Looking back once more I changed into a bird and flew off, only to feel a sharp pain in my stomach that made me fall mid-air and I fell towards the ground.

My eyes shot open and I looked around the whole gasping for air. In front of me, I saw Archer sound asleep so I quickly tried to calm down without making too much noise. I felt my stomach hurt and without waking up Arch, I freed myself from his cuddles and looked for the first aid kid. There I looked around for some painkillers and took two before looking at the time, and I noticed it was getting close to dinner time.

I wanted to surprise Archer so I started cooking without waking him in the hope I could wake him with the smell of freshly made food instead.

I could feel Gen breathing hard and hoped he wasn’t having a nightmare I cuddled in closer holding his shirt in my hand as I feel back to sound sleeping. I felt safe with him right there to help keep some of the bad dreams at bay. I felt a lack of warmth near me after a few minutes and whined a little half asleep but he didn’t come back and I started to panic that he left. I shot out of bed eyes wide and quickly scrambled out of bed. “Genosta!!” I ask scared and then the smell of food hits me as I get to the bedroom doorway and I calm down. “I thought you left.” I mumble as I rub my eyes and steady myself on the doorframe. “But no just making dinner for us.” I say as I smile and head to the kitchen wrapping my arms around his waist from behind and smiling as I kissed his cheek. “Its smells really good and looks just as good too.”

I was so focused on cooking that hearing Archer yell my name made me jump a little. I looked over my shoulder to see him look kind of scared. He put his arms around my waist, but for injury reasons, I gently moved to my shoulders and neck instead while putting one hand on his. “I told you, I’m not going anywhere unless you tell me to” I said softly as I kept my focus on not burning the food. But the words of dream Archer played in my head even though I tried to block it.

I lowered the stove fire a to a minimum before turning around and hugging him tightly. “Sorry, I just need a moment” I tell him as I just held him.

I held him back tight but not tight enough to hurt him. “Im not leaving never ever and I don’t want you to leave me ever either.” I mumbled as I tried not to cry my panic was still caught in my throat and I just held him. “I love you.” I say ad I cuddle in. “Im sorry I scared you I know your not leaving. Just so many people have left me and I don’t want you too I just get so scare you will and I can’t think straight and I got really worried when you were gone and I called for you softly and you didn’t come so I really panicked.” My words fell out of me in a flurry as heavy as the snow outside and I burred my face in his shoulder as I held him he was there he was still with me and had no intention of leaving me but my brain still worried he would, even when I knew in my heart he wouldn’t.

“Hey, hey, hey, calm down” I said with a slight chuckle. “Because I think our problem is already solved. You fear I walk away, and I fear you don’t want me and tell me to get out like most people have” I said and gave his forehead a soft peck by standing on my toes for a second. “I know you’re scared of me walking out, but despite me being a loner and I had successfully avoided any type of relationship with people for many years, I don’t need a minute to think and threw it all away from you. Despite there bing multiple abandon buildings to hide and recover in from those earlier bruises, my head just went straight to your house and you” I saod softly while I hugged him again so I didn’t have to look at him while saying something so embarrassing.

I cuddled into him nodding it made me feel a lot better hearing him say that and I knew it was my turn to reassure him that I would never want him to leave. “Gen…” I mumbled and looked at him as I kept him held close. I kissed his head and continued. “Im not ever telling you to leave. You just showed up here and I don’t think you know how happy and excited I was to have some stranger barge into my house. I mean I was really happy that you came to me and I made sure you knew that as best I could. You are home here with me and I don’t take home away from you and I don’t think I could take you away from me even if for some crazy reason I wanted to. You are mine and Im your and your here as long as you want to be here with me.” I mumble as I go back to cuddling him. I knew mine wasn’t as eloquent as his but it was the best I could do I wasn’t a great speaker and I was even worse when I was still trying to get my emotions under wraps.

I smiled at his words. Hearing him say ‘you are home now’ made me choke up a little but in a good way. “Thank you Arch, you don’t know how much it means to hear that” I tell him with a smile before I smelled the food and realized I had to turn it or else it would burn.

“How about we push away our silly now non-existing fears and we go eat” I suggested and put down the food on the table.

I smiled and gave Archer a quick peck before walking to the shower. I chsnged out of my clothes and saw just had bruised up I am… Well compared to normal. The purple spots looked like spread out parts of my decaying skin and around my stomach and ribs, It looked the worse. “So much for getting better” I mumbled before I stepped into the shower. Every movement from taking of my clothes, to taking the shower, but it also felt good and relaxing.

When I was done, I walked back and hugged Archer from behind. “Are you ready to face the cokd?” I asked.

I had finished the dishes and I had made sure to evaluate my own bruises I had managed a black eye and a possibly broken nose as pretty much the only damage I had. I smiled as I felt Gen wrap his arms around me while I put the clean dishes away. I leaned in gently to ensure I didnt hurt him more. “Yeah I guess if you are I need my coat and hat and stuff though still.” I say as I turn around and kiss him quickly as I go to grab my gear. “Did you get fresh clothes from the closet when you showered. I mean my clothes fit you so just wear them unless you want to get some clothes for yourself while we are out.” I say as I put my hat on and smile.

“Make sure you’re wearing two layers, icicle” I joked as I felt him lean in. “I did steal some of your clothes for the time being and put all our dirty clothes in the washer,” I said and turned him around as I stick out my arm. “But ‘they fir me’ wouldn’t be the words I would use,” I say as the sleeves were too long, and I had to fold the end of the pants to make sure they fitted. “We can get clothes another time, once my other clothes are clean again, I can wear them for a few more days, so no rush” I reassured him. “Now get your second layer and everything else so we can go” I joked.

I giggle and put a sweat shirt over my long sleeve before I put my winter coat on. “I have smaller clothes in the bottom of my closet that I out grew.” I say as I kiss him and smile. “Thanks for putting the dirty clothes in the washer. Ill state the laundry when we get back home.” I say as I pull a smaller sweatshirt from a bucket in my closet. “Here this should be smaller and fit better Gen.” I hand it too him as I pull my hat and gloves on. “These are all yours if they fit I can’t wear any of them anyway.” I say as I kiss him and head for the door. “You ready?”

I chuckle and take the shirt but put it away. “I will try them on later. I’m already proud I managed to wear these and the long sleeves aren’t bad so I think I’m going to stick to these” I tell him and waited for him to fiinish changing before I nodded. “yes, let’s go” I said and we walked out.

Going down the stairs was painful but doable. It was an actual relief to be down and we started walking outside. I was more on guard this time, but those punks didn’t show up again. Only after we got on the bus, however, was I able to relax a little.

While we were on the bus, I took Archer’s hand. We were ond of the only few in the bus so no one was paying us attention anyway. I later rested my head on his shoulder as I watched the buildings pass by.

I nodded as he told me he would try stuff on later and I didnt mind I just wanted him to know that if they fit he could keep them. I giggled as he talked about being proud to wear my stuff and the sleeves not being too bad. “Thats my sweat shirt from high school. I walked slowly downstairs a little worried about Gen now that the adrenaline had worn off. He seemed to be managing but the slow pace was definitely helping too. I held his hand as we walked to the bus I knew he was hesitant about it so I didnt let it last long.

I smiled when we got on the bus and he took my hand. I was glad here he felt comfortable enough for that. I wrapped my arm around his shoulder as he laid his head on my but I made sure to keep ahold of his hand too. I wasn’t letting his hand go any time soon

I smiled when I felt Archer’s arm around me. it was warm and even though we were in public, gave me a safe feeling. I could see some people look and whisper but I ignored it. words don’t hurt as much as a broken rib, so who cares if they want to waste their time.

“Archer?” I asked. “We both this city is corrupted, right?” I asked. “Why do we stay here?” I added. I know why I didn’t leave this city, because back when I had nothing, a corrupted city like this, was my only form of entertainment. I would solve or find incidents and then watch the police struggle to find the clues. But for Archer, I didn’t understand why a sweet guy like him would stay here.

I smiled cuddling in a little Gen was warm and despite the layers I was still cold. I didnt care we were in public he wasn’t leaving me unless I wanted him to and I wasn’t leaving him unless he wanted me to. Honestly that was never going to happen so I didnt care who saw I wanted anyone that would try and take him from me to know that they should think twice before they try. Some people whispered and I cuddled in a bit more.

I head Gen say my name and looked at him a little surprised. “Yeah Gen I know the city is corrupt.” I say as I play with his hair. That question was not one that I had readied myself to answer. I took a deep breath. “I stay because this is where I was given everything and had it all taken from me too.” I answered not wanting to go into detail about what I meant. The best and worst times of my life had been here I was tied here at least before him. I had nothing to drive me to leave, drive me to find better.

I nodded and smiled at him. “How about I tell you how I learned to ice skate instead” I suggested as I felt like it was a suitable story for the winter view we looked at, about as long as we were still on the bus, and a lighthearted story about my past. I wanted to let him in about my past, but maybe starting off small and taking it easy will be better.

“When I was little, there was this little pond in the woods behind our house. It was quite hidden so it felt like my special place…well mine and my mom’s since she saw me go there once. In the summer we would feed the ducklings and fish in the bond. During the winter, it was often very cold, but that also meant we could stand on the ice. Mom started a tradition that we would try and keep the ice snow-free so it would stay clean and have no bumps. Then she bought me ice skates and showed me the basics before she would dance around on the ice. I wanted to learn it too so we could dance together, but before I was good enough, she passed away. After that I spend every winter on that pond, skating like she taught me, so I could dance for her” I tell him with a smile. “It was my special moment with mom. My dad, step-sis and step mom didn’t know about it” I added. “Winter always remind me of her” I then said softly while smiling into the distance. I missed her, but I couldn’t do anything but smile while thinking back at her.

I smiled as I nodded I wanted to hear any childhood story he would tell me. I was especially curious where he had learned to skate even though I am sure he had the same question about me. I cuddled in hoping it was light hearted and sweet I needed a soft story and I think he knew that. I also think he wanted to share his past but didnt know where to start. That is how I felt to, I wanted to share my past with him but didnt know how.

I stayed cuddled close as I listen to his story and smile. I was trying to picture everything as he told the story. I closed my eyes and leaned my head on him as I listened intently with a soft smile placed gently across my lips. As I listened I could tell how important his mom was to him and all the love in his voice but he was sad too. I hugged him gently because of his ribs. I wanted him to know he was loved though. “That is a really sweet story Gen.” I say as I smile and open my eyes. “You are good at telling stories too I felt like I was right there with you as you talked about it.”

I could tell he was glad I was holding him how I was so his ribs wouldn’t be in as much pain as they could be. I shook my head. “No need, I want to make new memories with you, not blend old ones together,” I tell him as we walked out of the bus. “Those are memories from my past, one of the very few good ones. So instead of trying to make those precious memories something from the present, I rather make new memories with you that I can add to the list of good memories.” I explain with a smile as I squeeze his hand as we walked into a cabin with a little cafe. it was a logged cabin with a lumberjack-themed Interieur. It has a cosy atmosphere as well.

We walked to a little couch near a fireplace where we ordered two hot chocolates and we started talking again as we waited. “Can I be honest, it may sound weird, but I like these cosy type of cabin style cafe’s more than the modern or retro things” I said as I looked around.

I nod I understood what he meant I wanted new and special memories that were just ours too. The old memories were just that memories but I wanted to live with him and experience life with him. I wrapped my arm around him I wanted him to know I understood. “I get it. I have memories like that too. And I want all kinds or good memories with you, More than you can even dream up right now.” I say as I smile big at him. I was happy to have him and honestly that was all that mattered to me. I smiled giggling as we walked into the little cabin it was silly but cute and warm. “The them is ironically cute.” I say as I look the place over and find us a seat. But it seemed Gen found us a place to sit first a place I liked much better. The fire was warm and I sat on the floor close to it with my back resting on the couch where your legs would usually be. “I do too they are cozy and I always like the silly little themes and gimmicks that they have they make me smile.” I say as I jokingly finger gun a lumberjack statue.

I chuckle and grabbed his finger as he shot the finger gun. “Yeah, but that’s not the only silly thing that makes me smile,” I said and sat next to him where our shoulders touch. “The past is in the past, as amazing or cursed as they may be, we can’t change it, but we can decide what we make our future memories,” I said and hugged him from the side. “That is…if you want to” I added with a smile before looking outside. “Though that means you’ll have to deal with the cold today,” I said.

I giggle when he grabs my fingers “What do you mean that isn’t the only silly thing that makes you smile?” I ask as I look up at him my eyebrow quirked upward in confusion. I smiled when he moved to sit on the floor next to the fire with me. “I agree the past is what it is and I do want a future and our own memories.” I say as I lean my head on his shoulder while he side hugged me. “I definitely want to Gen never think that I dont ok.” I say as I smile at him and play with his hair. I catch him looking outside and I smile I knew he was thinking something up. “What are you planing Gen?”

I chuckled and rolled my eyes as I took the hand that he used to play with my hair. “I mean you silly” I said with a chuckle.

I smiled as he told me he also wanted to make memories with me. “I won’t but that doesn’t mean I don’t like hearing you say it” I saod before I gave hime a quixk pack on his cheek. “You’ll see, but fist let’s enjoy the hot chocolate” I suggested.

I giggle when he says I make him laugh. “Im make you laugh. Well that is good to know my humor isn’t waisted.” I say as I giggle and lay my head on his lap.

I was glad that he wanted to make memories too because that meant a lot to me. “Well I like to say it so it well that and I love you so I dont think I am going to stop any time soon.” I say as I smile and kiss his cheek back. “Ok good let me enjoy the warmth of the coco and the fire a little longer first Gen.”

I smiled at him. “Of course you do, I may not express it as openly, but you really do” I tell him as I stroked his hair while his head was on my lap.

“I’m glad to hear it” I said with a smile. “Because I can’t get enough of you right now” I added and gave him a soft peck on his forehead in return before hearing someone clear his throat. “Two hot chocolate?” A girl asked while looking at us with a raised eyebrow. “Yes thanks” I said with a tone that said; you can go now. but she kept on staring. “Oh leave those two alone Susy, they are cute” I heard another girl say as she pushed her collegue away and gave us a friendly smile.

I saw his smile and held his hand tight. That solidified in my mind that I was never letting this man go. He meant so much to me already and the look of joy made me happy. “I know you are not as open about it and its fine I was giving you a hard time anyway Gen.” I say as I cuddle in whelps he plays with my hair.

“Just right now because honestly for me its kind of a constant thing.” I say as I smirk knowing fully well I was being a little bit sarcastic and Gen hadn’t seen much of that side of me yet. I blushed softly when he kissed my forehead but it made me really happy and a Wie grin spread across my face. I sat up some to take my hot chocolate without spilling it. She was staring I could tell Gen was trying to be polite. “Thanks that’s all we needed.” I say as I smile and wave as I hope she walked away but her friend took care of it much to my relief.
