The Alternate World Series: Andy McAllister

:musical_note: Play Best Part – Daniel Caesar :musical_note:

So yes, as I said before – there are an infinite number of realities and truly anything can happen. Though… there are certain things that have a higher possibility than others. Things that simply occur on a more frequent basis because it was, well, you could say “meant to be”… you could the stars aligned correctly for a mere moment…. But with these scenarios, they simply aligned correctly too often to meet probability standards. Sure, there was a possibility that Jessica died…. but ironically, her fate has always been more probable towards surviving. Perhaps someone up there (or down there) likes to pull a few strings – that’s not my place to say, however… but I will say me and the other narrators due have ongoing bets and Jessica Pierce is often on our most “followed” list. But in this series, I have a very particular goal in mind. To discuss the intrigue of Jessica Pierce’s love life. There are, honestly, such an endless number of possibilities for our dear Jessica. Probability-wise, within all the realities, there are three names that overcome all others. Can you guess who they are? Indeed – Malachi Azure, who in himself is an intriguing case. Especially with the sheer number of times that Jessica has simply missed the man due to “timing” (Really this “timing” is just more pulling of strings… what can I say…. We get bored okay). Dorian DeLoughrey, who will forever be Jessica Pierce’s first love – and that truly holds so much weight in many of these outcomes. I mean… just look at her current life. The girl has once again found herself in his arms. And finally, one that not many would expect but had a high number of possibilities: Andy McAllister. (And of course, there’s a few strays too… like the time she married Trevor… or maybe even that incident with her and Zac. But that’s a story for another time).

So, Andy McAllister. How? Why? A person that has been there for our particular Pierce since she was 9 (or as some would say, 2 and ¼ due to her unfortunate birthday date). So, if it was so meant to be, after all, probability was on her side – what happened in this universe? Well, I did tell you – timing is everything. And in this life, one decision after another kept them as friends. But here’s the thing – the level of connection Jessica and Andy McAllister shared has always been more than friends. They know each other. They understand each other. It’s more than friendship, it’s what those to consider “being each other’s person.” Someone who will always have an important part in the others life. And would you be surprised to hear that there was only a small number of realities where Jessica and Andy weren’t at least friends? Because, in the end, here’s the thing: They will forever be drawn to each other. Even in instances where Jess never came to Cerulean High – they somehow found one another. They somehow fell into the same motions that made them friends in the first place. They somehow always became nuggets. But why am I telling you this? After all, I could go on and on about the endless realities. Of the time Jess and Andy ended up together after that shared kiss during one fateful game of spin the bottle. How one change made it so Andy picked up Jessica’s call the night she disappeared so instead of going to Mikel, she went to Andy. How one moment, one thought could change their whole relationship from friendship into…. Well, something more. But as I said before… Telling you won’t do anything. So why don’t I show you? Follow me along as we experience one of my favorite realities with the two ending up together.

So, things occurred as they did in the original timeline. Pain… loss…. It was all experienced in exact same way. The loss of her children – both Malachi’s though… that’s something she’ll never know…. And Dorian’s, the pain that Malachi inflicted, Jess leaving and returning from North Korea to find that her nugget’s wife had died and going to comfort him. But as I said. One moment. One alteration from the timeline can change everything. And this time around, this happened a little after Jess had finished her piece on North Korea – and won her first Pulitzer. So, let’s get into it, why don’t we?

Year 6: Things Change

:musical_note: Play Medicine – James Arthur :musical_note:

Ahh yes. The Pulitzer. Life really was… to say the least, crazy. Interviews every other day, and it felt as if Jess really didn’t have time for anything else. Perhaps that’s why when Jess was in town once again during the original timeline, when Andy invited her to a party, Jess had said no. After all – she was exhausted. But here’s the thing that changed. In the original timeline, Jess had an interview with the morning news, a meeting with her publicist, a flight – a L O N G flight because a kid was crying the whole time and so when she had arrived back in Beryl, she was exhausted.

In this timeline, however – Jessica’s meeting with her publicist was canceled. Allowing the butterfly effect to take place. What happened was because her meeting canceled, Jess decided to take an earlier flight back to Beryl. One earlier flight meaning no crying child. No crying child meant Jess was able to fall asleep on the flight back. And what that meant was that instead of saying no to Andy’s offer of a party the night she arrived, Jess’ answer was a hell yes.

She had of course pre-gamed slightly – arriving at just the perfect amount of tipsy. There was a soft smile on her lips reaching the party as it reminded her of the many parties she had gone to over the years in Beryl. People were dancing, drinking, having fun, and just enjoying themselves – something she honestly missed. Her life at that point seemed so much as if she had been putting up a front of happiness. Really it was a mask to hide her pain with everything she had been through. Part of her was happy that Andy was coming out and working through everything after Ziah had died a year earlier. The man was truly such a wreck after it had happened, and it took time to even get him out of the house and Jess was there every step of the way. Because pain… true pain is something one should never endure alone. It’s ironic how wise a girl can be though fall under her own traps – keeping all her own pain to herself.

In any case, Andy had texted her that he’d be there soon which really left her alone for a bit –which ended with her on the dance floor, her eyes closed as she enjoyed the rhythm of the music. Letting go – forgetting… something she really didn’t get to do too often. Well at least until some handsy assh-le decided to start grinding on her. Which – really? God, why were some guys so in their head about what was okay to do at a party? Turning around – it only took a second for Jess to realize who was in front of her. Kyle gag Whittle. A man she had told multiple times to go screw himself with a razor blade because of how uncomfortable he made Jess. Though it seemed he never got the hint. ”Jessica damn you look hot.”

And there started a 20-minute conversation that Jess tried to get out of. And of course the sentiment of ”So are you seeing anyone right now?” came up only causing Jess to sigh. Honestly, she wasn’t one to lie. But she also knew Kyle’s type. He was the person who respected other men more instead of believing that a girl was just not interested. So, when she caught eye of Andy behind the man, who soon waved at her, Jess had an idea. A stupid idea, but an idea nevertheless. “Actually yes. I am and there he is right now,” Jess stated, pointing at Andy. As the man turned around, distracted, Jess walked towards Andy with a smile – jumping and giving him a bear hug immediately as she brought her lips towards his ears. “Go along with this – I’ll explain later,” Jess whispered, and with that, Jess brought her lips to his own. And for the first time in about a decade, Jess kissed him. And immediately, she knew it was a mistake. Because she shouldn’t have felt anything for the nugget. But instead, there was this feeling in the pit of her stomach as the two kissed. And god knows how long they kissed… Jess just knew that she was the one to break it. When it was broken, however, she found herself immediately turning around to hide her expression though used the guise that she was seeing if Kyle had disappeared – which thankfully he had, likely getting the hint. So, what did Jess do after that? Well… what was Jess best at doing. She ignored what she felt, pushing it down. After all – it was inconsequential. Something that was probably just due to the alcohol in her system. “You are a bloody lifesaver McNugget. Kyle Whittle was flirting with me and I swore if I didn’t do something, he was going to follow me home like a bloody stalker or worse – continue to talk to me,” Jess stated with a soft laugh, trying to ease the tension that had just formed between the two. “Anyways, Nug, come dance with me,” Jess stated immediately – a soft grin on her features as she ignored the look on Andy’s face. A look that showed her that he had felt the exact same thing she had. Though that night… neither of them said anything. And if Jess had anything to say about it – neither ever would.

And that was the start. The beginning. The push that brought Jessica and Andy to realize there was more… that there could be more between the two of them. Because there was always that possibility. It always existed. And now… now it was going to unravel.

Year 7: What a Mess We Created

:musical_note: Play Experience - Ludovio Einaudi :musical_note:

Jess and Andy’s interactions had drastically changed. Neither of them had meant for it to but it wasn’t… normal between them anymore. There was always this unresolved tension between the two of them now… and Jess continued acting like there wasn’t which… well was obviously making Andy frustrated as almost any hangout ended with the two awkwardly departing. After all – it was her go-to. To pretend she didn’t know it was happening. Perhaps that’s why Jess was nervous going to Andy’s concert a few months later. The man hadn’t had a concert in over a year – taking a break from touring after his wife died to pay attention to his daughter. But now he was back and people went absolutely crazy for his tickets. It was sold out within minutes of being released and Jess had to work some magic to get herself a ticket because apparently getting on the venue website 2 minutes late was “too late” to surprise your friend. She hadn’t told him that she was coming and using the “I’m the ex-wife card” only went so far but she somehow (after pulling a few connections with Andy’s manager) found herself in the front row, screaming at the top of her lungs when Andy came out – singing along to his songs, and smiling as he casually, after years of practice, interacted with the audience by asking people in the front row if they wanted selfies on their phone during the concert.

And of course, Jess screamed bloody loudly when he came near her section – something along the lines of “You bloody piece of sh!t if you don’t pick me I’ll stick a damn hammer so far up your ass that….” Well, use your imagination to what she said after that… though to keep it pg 13, I personally won’t be repeating her words. But what she had said caught Andy’s attention as he looked straight at her and after a second a soft smile met his lips realizing it was her.

There was a playful demeanor on Jess’ lips as he neared her, bending down to look right at her – Jess of course jokingly screaming, “OH MY GOD HE’S LOOKING AT ME, NOT YOU,” at a few girls near her who were clearly annoyed by the sentiment. “Hey nug. Can I have a selfie?” Jess asked, handing the man her phone with a laugh which he returned before taking her cell and turning the camera towards the two of them. Jess didn’t waste any time before leaning up on stage and moving to place a kiss on his cheek for the photo, but instead of on his cheek, Andy turned and instead she found her lips on his once again for a mere second before the two separated… leaving her… honestly… confused though she tried to play it off with the gasps in the audience and Andy laughing saying something about “Well that was fun” with a wink to the audience before going into another song.

Perhaps that’s why Jess ended up going backstage waiting in his dressing room… to talk to him… to figure out what the hell they were getting into… or more specifically… how the hell to get out of this weirdness that had settled between them. Which… getting there was honestly an easy feat since she knew his personal security team. But knowing what to say? That wasn’t so easy. She found herself sitting hesitantly on his couch, though there was something about Andy that always made her smile despite anything going on in her life – which is what filled her features when he entered the room. “Hey stranger… that concert was killer,” Jess mumbled softly as he walked in. Though there was something on his face that told her that he wasn’t interested in pleasantries. He… likely like her wanted to talk about what happened. Not just about this but… the last time. Though Andy didn’t say anything else before going deeper into his dressing room after closing the door and within seconds, his lips were back on hers, his body moving on top of her on the couch as his hands moved down her body and a soft moan left Jess’ mouth. “Andy what are we…” Jess started, though there was a look in Andy’s eyes that Jess couldn’t place. ”If you want to stop, just say the words.” Andy whispered with sincerity in his voice. But the odd thing was… she didn’t want to. So…. she didn’t. At that moment, Jess made a choice, and bringing his lips back to hers Jess found her fingers unbuttoning his shirt and the two begin roaming each other’s bodies for the first time, and honestly, Jess didn’t want it to stop. And they didn’t. For a long time, the two were just lost within one another, lost within each other’s bodies. Though later as she laid naked on his chest, catching her breath… suffice to say she was confused. After all… this wasn’t… ever supposed to happen. Andy was her person…. The person she would confide anything in. But this… was unexpected… and part of her heart ached because she knew she was hurting someone else that was important to her… Dorian. Though Dorian and she had made it clear that the two of them would never work it still… hurt to hurt him.

“Andy we should… talk about that,” Jess whispered in a quiet voice.

And talk they did… or more like… argue about how this was never going to work as Andy emphasized that Jess was getting too caught up in her head. And maybe she was… but all she knew was she needed to go. Her instinct was to run. And sitting in his dressing room, Jess sighed looking at the man as she pulled her clothes. “I need to… I need fresh air,” she whispered, though it was strange. There was something in Andy that no one had ever shown her before. Because in an instant, Andy had grabbed her hand, ”No,” he whispered, *”I know you, Jessica. I know if I let you walk out that door, you’re going to run away and I’m not letting you do that because I know now more than ever that I love you. Running away isn’t going to do sh!t.” Andy stated. And he was right. Andy did know her – he did know that if she walked out that day, then things would be different. Here’s the thing… Jess never had that before… never had someone asking her to stay. Rather… it always seemed that no one would ever fight for her. Dorian had let her go without another word and then slept with someone else a few days later…. And Kai… well… he continually made Jessica feel like she was worth less than nothing. So this… this moment was… strange. Her instinct was to run because over the years, that’s what she had been conditioned to do. But instead… now she found Andy’s arms around her and part of her never wanted to let this feeling go. So… she didn’t.

End of Year 7: And We Live in the Mess We Create

:musical_note: Play Halo - Beyonce :musical_note:

Drastic change. That was what that night had caused in Jessica’s life. Because after that night, Jess and Andy were inseparable by every means. Here’s the thing. When you love someone so much… even just as a friend, shifting that view from a friend into… something more… wasn’t as hard as people expected. Especially as Jess and Andy didn’t start off as friends. They always started off as each other’s crushes. It wasn’t simply a physical attraction – it was an immediate emotional one too.

Perhaps Jessica was making a mistake. But why did a mistake feel so damn good. Because she loved him. There were so few times that Jess had felt truly happy in her life, and Andy… he was bringing those feelings up. All the love she had now belonged to him. Well… that was until she found herself looking at a positive pregnancy test. And now… her love would grow towards her children. Jessica didn’t wait a moment. She didn’t have time. Immediately, Jess found herself going into a place she had promised herself she never would. A hospital… because she needed to know. Was there any defining how happy she was when the doctor told her that she was perfectly healthy, and the baby was doing fine? No… after not knowing for the past 6 years if she could even have a baby again, her mind couldn’t control how happy she was.

And her and Andy… they were also great… Jess loved him. Less than a year, that’s how long Jess had been with Andy. Been with him in a capacity that was more than just… friends. Though despite the short length in the two dating… the happiness he brought her was indescribable… comparable to her past loves… the ones she had to leave behind. Though this was something else… how do you tell someone you love you’re pregnant? Especially when this was never planned. Jessica Pierce didn’t know that answer… she didn’t even know how to start to bring it up. Clearly, she never had with Dorian and the ending to that choice would forever haunt her.

What she did know was all of her resolve in telling him dropped in one moment. She could remember the day as clear as if it had just occurred. Jess was playing with Kaya – a simple question of “how are you liking school,” leading to the little girl saying something that was odd. A mention of wanting to go everywhere her mama went. Which later that night led to an argument she would never forget.

Her arms wrapped around Andy as she brought the moment up. “Did you know that Kaya wants to go to all the same schools as Ziah? Including Cerulean High… how are you going to tell her she’s not going to?” Jess asked. There was an innocence in that question. It wasn’t hidden that Jess hated Cerulean High… everything she personally had been through there all the way to being forced to come back through threats by Blue Royalty. And Andy knew this… he knew everything she had been through. Jess had always been honest to him about that… about how Kai used her. It was for this reason that she never expected Andy to reply with ”What do you mean? She is going to go there?”

And there begin an argument for hours. How could he send his daughter to a school that quite literally tormented people? That had manipulation as an extracurricular. Perhaps there was the added stress that she was pregnant and, in her mind, there was a fear that he would want their kids to go there too. “I’m done… just… I need space, Andy.” Jess recalled yelling, grabbing her wallet before walking out his door, leaving all forms of communication behind despite him yelling after her. Jess didn’t care – she simply went into her car and disappeared.

And for the next three weeks – Jess truly did vanish. She needed to think… just be by herself. For three weeks – Jess traveled. She didn’t care where she was going, she just bought a plane ticket for whatever was leaving that night and left. From Mexico to Europe Jess was trying to calm her fear. Her anxiety… though it wasn’t until Jess was in Switzerland at a little coffee shop that she found a tv playing something about Andy. Her eyes faltered to the news segment and for a brief moment… regret filled her. The segment showed a clip of an interview with the man, and Jess found her hand going to her stomach.

”And how are you doing since your wife’s death?”

Jess’ eyes went to the screen as she found Andy frowning slightly at the interviewer’s question.

”I’m not going to say that everything’s okay because honestly… Ziah’s death will always hurt…” Andy started, taking a drink of his water. “But I’m doing better. I have an amazing support system and the best little girl a man could ask for. And… you know it’s hard to find love after you feel like your soul mate left and for a while… I had kind of given up on that… but recently… there’s someone in my life that makes me feel how I felt with Ziah and I… I’m just really happy and in a great place right now,”

Jess had never heard that interview before and she knew it was dated before their argument. Biting her lip… Jess knew she had made a mistake. And immediately… Jess left the shop and went back.

It was raining the day she returned, and she found herself standing outside his door during an hour of the night that only Jessica Pierce would have been awake. Knocking on his door, she stood there completely soaked – hesitantly pressing the doorbell once. And that was it. She found the door opening moments later from a half-asleep McNugget who didn’t even wait a second after seeing her. He pulled her against his body, wrapping his arms around her immediately ”Don’t ever do that again Jess I was… so damn worried,”. And at that moment, Jess whispered “I’m pregnant, Nugget,”

Year 8: She's Pregnant Nugget

:musical_note: Play All those pretty lights – Andrew Belle :musical_note:

”Just Breathe, you’re doing so great”

“YOU DON’T THINK I KNOW HOW TO BREATHE YOU IDIOT? I KNOW HOW TO BREATHE. WHERE THE BLOODY HELL IS MY SLUSHIE I ASKED FOR A DAMN SLUSHIE,” Jess screamed at Andy as another contraction hit her body. The two had been… ironically at a Mcdonald’s when her water broke, and the man had dragged her out of line to take her to the hospital. But you know what that meant? That she never got her food… or her nuggets… or her lemonade slushie she had asked for. Suffice to say Jessica’s hormones were everywhere and she was very upset. “God… when the hell will they give me the epidural,” Jess cried looking over at Andy, but soon posing the question to the doctor as the woman came in who simply gave Jessica a sorry smile as she hit her with the worst news possible. “I’m sorry… it seems like your cervix is fully dilated it’s time to push Jessica,”

“Nope No nono no. I’ve held this baby in me for 9 months, she can wait another 30 minutes so I can get my slushie and epidural,” Jess muttered. Her hand was in Andy’s and she found him turning her head towards him. ”Nug… it’s time to push” he whispered and she frowned at him though nodded, holding his hand and going through the worst pain she had been through in a long time.

Was it worth it though? Yes. It was when she heard her little girl crying – the doctor cleaning the baby off before handing her to Jess. So perhaps Jessica had been through a lot of pain with love. But this… this was it. Pure love… one that would never fade away. Looking at her baby, Jess smiled. “You’re perfect,” Jess stated, kissing the little girl on her forehead – smiling larger as the baby stopped crying and looked at Jess. Jessica turned to Andy whose eyes were on his little girl. “Here,” Jess whispered, letting him take the girl from his hands. “Go introduce Kaya to her little sister,” Jess continued. She fell asleep soon after that – but all she could remember was the sheer happiness she felt passing out in exhaustion after that.

She woke up hours later and found her hospital room filled with food. From wall to wall was a buffet. She didn’t know what Andy had done but he had apparently gotten that slushie she wanted as the left wall had 7 slushy machines with different flavors. She found Andy coming inside a few moments after and shot him a smile. “Hey you’re awake beautiful. So what would you like? We have nuggets over there, I have supplies for a burger, I got an ice cream machine right there – one that is clearly working since the one at McDonald’s is almost always ‘broken’” Andy asked. “God I love you,” Jess laughed, grinning as he walked over to her and kissing her. “How is she?” Jess questioned and Andy grinned. ”As beautiful and strong as her mother… also as tired as her. She’s sleeping in that room with all the other babies and Kaya’s watching over her telling everyone that passes that she’s her little sister,”

Year 9: Can Happiness be Bottled Up?

:musical_note: Play Pieces – Andrew Belle :musical_note:

If pure joy could be quantified – Jess would say she had it. “Mama,” Jess’ eyes were closed, though she felt a smile on her lips as Tia climbed on her body to kiss her. Though instead of “waking up” Jess continued to pretend to be asleep as her little girl tried to wake her up by jumping on her. Though daddy’s little girl soon changed course saying ”dadda” when the man walked into the room.

”Is your mom sleeping in your bed again. How dare she?”

Andy laughed, picking the little girl who had her arms out wanting to be played with. “Well if it isn’t my 1 year old and my 7 year old again,” he continued. Opening her eyes, Jess frowned as she stood up and jumped out of the crib she was sleeping in after comforting her daughter the night before. “I swear, she’s such a little traitor. First her first words are “dada” and not “nugget or mama” which is treason in itself and then this,” Jess poked, kissing Andy on the cheek, and then her little girl on the forehead. In retrospect – Andy wasn’t wrong. Tia Pierce- McAllister was a little look alike of Jess herself. Well… except for her eyes which she got from Andy. “At least Kaya likes me more,” Jess continued with a pout as she wrapped her arms around Andy.

”Well come on then, let me make it up to you – why don’t we take our little girl on her first Disney trip?”

[color= mediumaquamarine] “How come I never got impromptu Disney trips?” [/co.or] Jess poked though there was a smile on her face that said ‘hell yes’ they were going. And they went – thank you private jet. Honestly, randomly picking up their stuff to go on a last minute vacation was the defining trait in Andy and Jess’ relationship. Unpredictability but with security. Honestly something Jess always needed in her life. Looking at Andy play with his two girls on the flight – Jessica Pierce truly did feel happy. There was no describing how much because honestly, with everything in Jessica’s past, she never… thought she’d get here. To this point in her life where everything was just… amazing. Perfection was unattainable but if there was a way to bottle it up – to Jess, it would be this moment. “Hey nugget,” Jess stated from her seat, watching as he looked up at her. “I love you,” she finished.

Perhaps he knew that this whole time. Because what she thought was an impromptu trip to Disney turned out to be… so much more. Jess could remember the laughter that met her lips when he brought her to a “McDonald’s around the world” store in Epcot where they had food from every country. What she hadn’t expected was that when she walked in, no one was inside except for the four of them. Though despite that confusion on why the hell people wouldn’t be lining up outside, Jess hadn’t questioned anything until Kaya came up holding Tia with something in her hand. ”Dad wanted us to give this to you,”

Jess looked at the ring pop in the girl’s hand and smiled. A small laugh left her lips as she picked it up and put it on her finger. “I think it looks pretty cute, don’t you?” Jess asked the girls as Tia looked at her with her arms up mumbling “mama.”

Picking her daughter up, Jess kissed Kaya on the forehead before looking around. “Where is your dad anyways?” Jess asked, looking around as she walked towards another room in the shop. Though when she went inside, the whole room was, legitimately, filled with ring pops with Andy in the middle. “Andy What…” Jess started not even sure what to say as she looked at the man.

“Jess… I’ve known you since I was 12 when this curious little girl sat down for a game of spin the bottle and somehow, I don’t know but someone made it so that when she spined, it landed on me. I didn’t think of that moment as one of the luckiest days of my life because after that day, we became more than just friends. Jessica Pierce, you became my person. No matter what we’ve been through… distance….fights… you’ve never stopped being that for me.”

Jess watched as he walked closer to her, smiling at his little girl who was still in Jessica’s hands. “We got married once before and… god I can’t remember what I said that day but I know how important you are to me and have continued to be through everything. I can’t imagine going through the rest of my life without you so, Jessica Pierce…” Andy started before getting on his knees as he pulled out, this time, not a ring pop but an actual ring, “… will you marry me?”

And for the first time in a long time, Jessica was stuck for words as she looked at the man she loved on his knees. “I…” Jess started. “Kaya… do you mind taking Tia to the other room and getting whatever you want?” Jess asked handing the little girl back to her sister. Once the two were gone, Jess, like Andy, got to her knees and pulled him in for a kiss as she leaned her head against his. “No…” Jess whispered and she saw the immediate sadness that met Andy’s features. “Wait… Andly look. In the 27 years that I’ve been alive I’ve… fallen in and out of love so many damn times and I’ve realized… so many things,” she whispered, tears meeting her features. “I’ve gotten married… divorced… more than once… and I’ve realized… marriage is nothing but a piece of paper. I don’t want to be with you because it’s written on a piece of paper. I want to be with you because I want to be with you,” Jess continued, wrapping her arms around the man. “I want to be with you because I love you and no paper is going to change that. You, Andy McAllister, are my everything. I don’t need anything else.” She finished kissing him again. “So will I marry you? No. But will I be with you for the rest of my life? Yes.”

Year 10: Wrapping Up

:musical_note: Play Anchor – Novo Amor :musical_note:

And that was it. The end… or shall I say the start of Andy and Jessica’s story. Because with endings, there are always beginnings. And if you don’t believe me… say hi to their second child, Jamie, born a few years later. Because here’s the thing – throughout all the sadness Jessica Pierce had; there was happiness always hidden below the surface. Jess had that, whether Andy was her friend or something more. And that being said, that concludes my sentiments of this alternate universe.

With a hyperactive child on his lap that was calm only when there was food in front of her, after so many years of wishing for this very moment Dorian found himself sitting next to his renewed wife at their wedding. One year after their first daughter was born… Truly the most special day in his life. Two special days - the day Shay was born and this one. A nervousness he never felt before and there were many, many times when he was supposed to feel the way he did this morning but he never did. So it would be right to say he was indeed freaking out. It wasn’t only a wedding, it was his wedding, he was marrying (again or whatever) the only woman he could imagine having a perfect future with, future he didn’t have to imagine anymore. There was nothing that could help with calming down, not even their little daughter he was delighted to see as their flower girl. And listen, she was still young but with a little help of her cousins she did a perfect job. You’ll never see a flower girl cuter than Shay; her cuteness not stopping after she saw her dad just standing there with the biggest smile as he looked at his precious girl, making her attempt to run up to him. Usually someone would take the kid but not at this wedding, if you don’t count Dorian picking up his kid and refusing to let Davina hold her the whole time because that’s exactly what he did. She was in his arms as he waited for Jess, in his arms when it was finally time for her to walk out, in his arms as he kissed her chubby cheek whispering, ”Look, it’s mommy”. The idea of crying when seeing his wife walk down the aisle always seemed funny to him, he never understood it until now. Yes, it was really hard to fight back those tears, it wasn’t overwhelming it was just… a moment of pure happiness he thought he would never have, or deserve. Realizing what he actually had, what he will have and what his life has become. His perfect kid and his perfect wife.

“Of course you like cupcakes the most,” chuckling, Dorian was looking down at his little girl that was not so surprisingly still awake. With this food festival going on how could she not be? Feeding her everything she wanted on this one day before going back to trying to make his kid eat real food along with Jessica. A mission he knew would fail but it was nice to hope. His gaze often falling upon Jessica with a soft smile before gently taking her hand and placing a soft kiss on top of it while still holding Shay. Seeing that people around theme were slowly finishing their meals, he looked over at his mother before getting up, asking her to hold Shay for a little bit. Of course, Jessica would be the first person he’d give their child to but very soon he’ll be needing her for something else. So making his way to the middle of the venue and grabbing a mic people used before him for their speeches, he looked over at his wife that had that what are you doing look on her face. It was their wedding, he had to say a few things, didn’t he? “I hope you’re having a good time here, I just wanted to take couple of minutes to say something and before I start … Jess and I are betting on who’s going to get the drunkest tonight and my bet is on Riker… I know you’re sad I’m marrying someone else so drink up because I’m not losing again.” With a goofy smile, not missing a chance to joke around, Dorian took a second to look at the man, catching his sister giving him a dirty look. But his gaze quickly lowered, getting more serious.

Okay… How do I start this?.. I was never the one to dream about this perfect life with a wife and kids. I couldn’t imagine myself having that… You know how some people are so enthusiastic about it? I can’t wait to get married, have kids. I’m going to raise then in a perfect house and they’d have the best parents! Yeah, that was never my priority… Hell, I don’t think that though crossed my mind once. Sure, maybe one day but… I didn’t really want that. I wanted to be successful and famous. Be someone people would talk about… In a way be free to do with my life whatever I wanted. Wife, girlfriends? No, I don’t need that. That’s what I thought for a long time. I also never believed in love before which takes me back to that story of never imagining myself getting married… I never believed in love so what was the point of thinking about that? Imagining a perfect marriage and family? Why would that make me happy?” Ending that quietly, he took a small pause with a weak smile before continuing through a laugh. ”Don’t worry, that’s not what I think now! It changed when Jessica and I started officially dating and if we never did I’d probably still think that way but we did… and at only 20 I bought an engagement ring. Yeah, we were young but… it felt… right. I was never excited about anything the way I was excited about that. And terrified, in a good way of course, so… I was wrong to think I didn’t believe in love.
She made me believe in it and it took me a while to realize that for the longest time I was in love, with my best friend. She was the only person I was ever in love with.”

”What I wanted to say with this is that I’ve been in love with my wife for almost 20 years now. When she was away and I haven’t seen her in a long time, when we were fighting and she probably thought I hated everything that had to do with her, when we were together for the first time and when we weren’t anymore. When I was with other people, when she was… It… it had always been only her… It all started with this childish game we played at a random party when we were 13 and she kissed me… You can ask her about it later, I’m sure she’d love to tell you about it especially after pretending, for 4 years, that she couldn’t remember it… “ Letting the room fill with laughter, he looked at his wife and shook his head in disappointment, obviously in a joking way, proven with a mischievous smile that followed. ”But I knew I’d always do anything for her. No matter what our relationship was, no matter how much of a d!ck I was… Excuse me, there’s royalty here," Dorian whispered, keeping his smile on.

"I knew I would do anything for her even if I’m not the most creative person but lucky she likes to ramble and with that reveal what she wants. You know… I remember this one time we were talking about working out and whatnot and she said how she’d only work on her biceps by bringing food into her mouth and how she’s actually an olympic champion… That conversation ended with us agreeing that should be an actual sport so she could win and get a trophy because she is the best of the best even if she tried to reach out to someone and they said no. Well… I obviously know some people, one being a very important person in the International Olympics committee… the current president of the IOC and I reached out to him… Unfortunately he couldn’t be here today but I do have a little message he left for… Jessica.” Dorian glanced at her for a second just to see her confused reaction before turning to the screen on the wall and put on a video he had previously prepared for this moment - a familiar face to him showing up.

“First of all I want to say congratulations on your marriage and best wishes. Dorian came to me with a very unusual but interesting idea, saying how he wanted to do something special for his wife. This was the first time someone suggested something like this to me or my colleagues and as much as we wanted to do something about this charismatic idea we sadly can’t make, and I quote “bringing food into mouth” an official olympic sport. But what we can do is make it a Jessica Pierce only specialty and mention her as one of our best athletes. What we also can do is make a trophy for her, which Dorian suggested and we happily ended up doing…" the rest of his message wasn’t that important, or Dorian just didn’t listen to since his friend approached him and gave him that trophy. A cheeky smile on his lips as he turned to face the table where his wife was, but she was already making her way towards him, a smile that matched his. “Surprise,” only thing he managed to say before she pulled him in for a kiss he immediately returned, wrapping his free arm around her. “What a good addition to our shelf, huh?”

Yes I did use parts of this post for another reply but this was my original post I thought I’d never get a chance to share so… No judging.

What If? - Soccer Game Day Stabbing

One moment, one choice, can change the course of someone’s life. Just as there is a vast number of alternate timelines surrounding one Jessica Pierce, there are just as many surrounding Malachi Azure. There is a world out there where he didn’t live past his 13th birthday, one in which he never had an arranged marriage, one that left Kai single after high school, living in New York, and even one where he was engaged to marry Princess Angela instead and the wedding was called off so they could both be with someone they loved. The ways Kai’s life could have gone, is limitless. Though, there are certain moments that brought some of the most notable changes.

May 30th, 2020. Doesn’t that date ring a bell? Oh right that’s the day that Jessica Pierce beat death, dying and coming back to life, as well as being the day one Laurel Parker was born. That day alone brought many possible futures to the lives of everyone involved that day. There were futures brought by that day where Laurel had not survived, even one universe where none who went to the hospital that day survived through the night, and for Jessica, there was even the possibility of it not being her who was stabbed, but Anna instead.

However for Kai, his alternate futures that came from that day surround him and Jessica. There was a world where he had to live and she was gone, some in which Anna let him in to see her in the hospital, a reality where they both bled out in that school hallway, hands together, fingers intertwined until the end. Then of course there were the timelines in which Jessica survived, but Kai was the one who died, unable to conquer death. Let us take a look at a couple of the ways that event could have taken a drastic change for the better, and for the worse.

There will be two alternate realities posted in relation to this, and will be posted when they are finished.

Flashback: Wedding

Cloud 9 - Paravi Das

A soft smile met her lips as she looked at herself in the mirror - within it a version of herself looking back at her. One that she thought she may never get the chance to see. One that… well… was happier than words could describe. The reason? Because for the first time - Jess had nothing holding her back. Because… in a few minutes she would be walking towards the man she loved more than anything else. Her person… Her best friend. Her forever. Was it bad that she thought she may never have this moment? Never get the chance to be with someone who made her heart race simply by the thought of them? For such a long time - Jess had gotten it… gotten that feeling just to lose it over and over again and honestly… it was killing her to the point of being done with it all. She was almost content that love wasn’t for her. The time she lost Dorian… the times she had her heartbroken. Part of her almost feared that she may lose it again… but she pushed that thought out of her mind hearing a soft voice behind her.

“You look beautiful, nugget,”

Her smile was replaced with a larger one as she found Andy leaning against the wall, looking her up and down. There was a simple elegance in her dress she wore - nothing too fancy. Jessica’s excuse was that she needed something that had the breathability to eat - but really, she just… loved the simplicity in it. After all of it - Jess never needed a fancy dress, a fancy wedding, a fancy ring. All she wanted was to be with someone who cared about her.

“You sure? Isn’t this about around the time I’m supposed to start freaking out about something superficial and stressing my knight of honor out?”" Jess questioned, moving her eyes away from the mirror and meeting the blue hues of Andy’s eyes as she walked over towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing his cheek before holding him tightly once again. “Hey you still have to get me ring pops okay? Ex-husband or not,” Jess muttered, smiling as she looked at him.

“Wouldn’t have it any other way Nug. Anyways, there’s this huge crowd out there and usually, I’d think it’s about time for me to start singing - but I think today they’re waiting for you,”

Jess laughed ever so slightly as he put his hand out, and without hesitation, she found her hand in his as he brought her out of the empty dressing room to the exterior where everyone was waiting. Though Jess let go of Andy’s hand bending down as she saw her little daughter stumbling over towards her the moment the little girl had seen her mother - Amie and Phoebe yelling her name as they were seemingly trying to get her to hold flowers and stay still.

“Hello baby girl are you being a little rascal again?,” Jess whispered with a smile, laughing as the little girl said “No mama”, kissing her girl on the cheek and smiling as the little girl tightly wrapped her arms around her neck. Within a few minutes - they had all made their way to the start of the walk. Kissing her baby one more time, Jess put the pouting girl down. “Hey Shay look over there,” Jess whispered in her girl’s ear, pointing towards where Dorian was standing, as Amie and Phoebe went to either side of the girl. It only took a second of the girl catching her father in her sights that she started stumbling over with Amie and Phoebe who threw flowers as the munchkin tried to get to her dad.

Usually, at weddings, it was a father who gave a daughter away - but that wasn’t the case this time around. Jess loved her parents… but they had never been a big part of her life… never chosen to be that. So she had requested another person. As her little girl walked… okay fine… ran towards her dad, Jess stood up to face that man for the second time. “Ready when you are Mister,” Jess smiled, taking Andy’s arm as she started walking towards Dorian. Towards the love of her life.

Reaching him, she muttered a soft thank you to her friend before taking Dorian’s free arm - the other tightly holding their daughter. Jess brushed her hand over her daughter’s hair, before looking back at Dorian - the love for him only growing within her. And soon, the two got married for the second time, finalized as she kissed him after the minister finally uttered the words “You may kiss the bride”

Jess and Dorian had spent the last few hours of their reception greeting the guests and not eating. Her wedding planner and Davina had warned her that no matter how much food she organized - it would be rare if she had time to sit down and eat any of it since apparently being the “bride” meant that you had to talk to ever damn person in this place. And god damn it, they weren’t wrong. But this was Jessica - and if she worked this damn hard to have all the damn cuisine at her food festival of a wedding - SHE WAS GOING TO bloody FEAST on it all. It wasn’t long until Jess and Shay found themselves at their table eating… okay, stuffing their faces with desserts and avoiding people. Jess pouted, however, when she heard her husband appear with the words “Of course you like cupcakes the most” at their little girl. “She obviously has good taste” Jess teased the man, standing up as she placed a kiss on his cheek. “Sorry for leaving you with Aunt Helina… that woman can go on and on about the royal history and I could not bloody deal with it anymore - especially not on an empty stomach,” Jess grinned. Though, instead of answering, she watched as he picked Shay up and walked their baby towards Davina. Jessica watched with a curious expression as he walked towards the middle of the venue grabbing a mic. She couldn’t help but laugh at his sentiment of the ongoing bet they had going - which honestly was the first of many based on this wedding. Though Jess was still positive her Uncle Reginald would be the first one. He always thought he had a higher tolerance than he did, after all - and both her and Dan could recall the time he had two drinks and then fell asleep on the Queen’s lap.

Though jokes aside, when she heard his next sentiment the confusion returned to her face as he started going deeper into his speech. Although, as he continued her expression was rather replaced with one of pure love. “Heyyyy” Jess laughed as he called her out about lying to him about remembering the kiss, soon followed by the laughter of others in the room - though hers only grew when he cursed in front of the royal audience.

But when she listened to the video that came on the screen, her heart started racing again and she could feel the slight goosebumps on her skin. God, she loved that man with everything in her heart - which was exactly why she didn’t wait after his speech was over, rather, she immediately made her way towards him and wrapped her arms around him to pull him in for a kiss. Soon, holding him tightly as he whispered in her ear about the trophy, though she matched it with her own whisper, “I love you so much,”. And she did. There were no words that could fully describe how happy Dorian made her feel. “He’s a bloody liar by the way. On the record, I didn’t pretend not to remember. I just selectively forgot a few things,” Jess stated into the microphone before putting it down alongside the trophy and pulling the man towards the area dedicated to dancing. Wrapping her arms around his neck, Jess laid her head on his shoulder as she swayed with him - the band playing a slow song as it was technically their first dance. “You know…” Jess whispered, looking back up at him with a smile. “There are no returns or exchanges available for me… you’re kinda stuck now,” She stated, bringing her hand towards his cheek. She was about to say something else though she found their little girl waddling towards them mumbling dada up, Shay found herself escaping Davina and made her way towards the two of them with her hands raised. Jess watched as Dori easily picked her up so the little girl could dance with the two of them. And that’s exactly what they did. This truly was her forever, and Jessica couldn’t be happier.

Alternate World - Sacrifice

Playlist

Note: The playlist above is for this Alternate Universe, and the next Alternate Universe for the stabbing.

In one instant, without even the time to think it over, you make a choice that changes the course of your life. After all, that’s what happened when Jessica made the split second decision to put herself between Anna and Elettra’s blade, but Jessica was not the only one to make that choice, as the blade pierced not Jessica’s flesh, or even Anna’s, but Kai’s.

Where his sister had gone, Kai didn’t know. Most of his surroundings weren’t of any concern as he looked at the growing bloodstain on his shirt. “F**k.” For a mere second, there was only shock, but as Kai’s legs gave out beneath him and he hit the floor, Kai felt a sense of deja vu. Though in Kai’s case, it wasn’t just feeling like he had experienced the situation before, as he had been in the same situation once before.

Flashback

Blood, pain, shock. The young Kai looked to the kitchen knife his twin sister held. How had he pushed her so far? Was it something he said? Something he did? He didn’t know, but did it even matter? There he was, sliding against the counter and white cabinets to the floor, looking up at Elettra, her hand and clothes covered in his blood. His vision blurred as he heard footsteps. Elettra, it wasn’t her. She wasn’t getting help. She was simply standing nearby, eating cake, their cake, their birthday cake. More footsteps. Akielah, his little sister. She found him. “Elettra! What did you do…? Mom! Dad!” His mind was fuzzy, he was barely awake, but he could see the fear on the little girl’s face as she pressed a towel against the wound. “You’re gonna be okay Kai… You’ll be fine…”

End of Flashback

Kai nearly died that day. His 13th birthday, six years earlier. Now, there he was once again, lying on the floor as a pool of his own blood grew as a result of his own twin. Once again, with people he cared about over him, thinking they were about to lose him. Though this time, it wasn’t his little sister. It was Val and Jess.

Val… Kai knew she had been through loss, with her own sister. Val was his cousin by blood, but in his reality, she may as well have been a sister to him. This time, he wouldn’t be there to make sure she knew she could handle it. Candice may not have actually died, but at her best friend’s funeral, he was the only thing that had held Valerie together. He wasn’t the person in the world she was closest to, but they were family, and if Kai was gone, who would be the person to make sure that she didn’t break from the added pain. Kai could feel his mind growing less clear, his body was colder, and it was getting harder to keep his eyes open. He looked first to his cousin, pausing to breathe between words. “You… can handle… anything.”

Seconds, turned to minutes, and felt like hours. Stay awake. Keep my eyes open. Kai reminded himself. Once he was unconscious, what chance he had of making it out of that hallway alive, would slip away. That was when his eyes turned to the one thing he could focus on, Jess. “I’m sorry…” They hadn’t seen each other since his birthday, since he told her the truth. The truth about who his family was and why he was there. The truth that he regretted being true, but had to tell her, even if it would hurt her, but here she was by his side, covered in his blood. His lips curved into a weak smile, relieved she was alright. He took the hit for her, so she was fine. Jess wasn’t hurt, that’s what mattered to him. Everything else was quickly becoming a blur, the sights, the sounds, it was all blending together, but he could hold onto the fact that Jess wasn’t hurt. For a girl who he never planned to care about, the thought of her being hurt was more painful than the knife.

Flashback

Jessica Pierce. Make a good first impression, ask her out, pull her close, break her heart. It was simple. Play with her heart and complete the tasks given by her sister to protect his siblings. Though none of it was that simple, and it grew ever more clear with each date. She was never what he expected. To keep from losing everything, she forced him to let down his walls, and that was it. It was all over. All of the little things he had noticed that caught his attention before, began to add up as he let her in, and before he knew it, he was in love with her. Even in the moments that she drove him insane, Kai found himself falling harder for her. The way she teased him, challenged him, the way she made everything seem like it didn’t matter. From the conversations with their siblings, to the way they bickered about something as trivial as bananas. It was everything about Jess that made him fall in love with her, one moment at a time. At what point he was officially in love with her, he couldn’t say, but she had become someone he felt real with. He was himself, he felt comfortable with her, and nothing else really mattered.

As his birthday approached, and the two grew ever closer, each night that went by, he found comfort in holding her close. Close and secure, ensuring that she wouldn’t go walking the streets in the middle of the night, and he wouldn’t have to worry. Whenever she woke up, ready to go walk, he simply pulled her close, so she couldn’t leave. Though even when she tried to get away, he made no reaction to imply he was awake other than a slight smile. Just as whenever he woke up in the middle of the night, with painful memories on his mind, she was there, and all he had to do was keep her close.

End of Flashback

Kai was slipping in and out of consciousness. Only so much could be done with the blood he was losing. It was just a matter of time before Kai found himself in the hall one moment, and in an ambulance with Jess beside him the next, on the way to the hospital. In one moment, Kai looked at Jess, and tried to say something to her, but he could barely get “Jess… I…” out, as it wasn’t long before the semi-consciousness faded away as Kai was on the brink of death.

Minutes, hours, days, Kai didn’t know how long he had been out. His mind wasn’t clear, he could only remember flashes of what happened. His sister, the knife, Jess. Waking up, he slowly opened his eyes, and as he looked to the side, there she was. “I think I may have done something I shouldn’t have…” Kai said to get Jess’s attention. When she saw he was awake, Kai immediately found her arms around him. “Please don’t ever do that to me again you w^nker.” Jess whispered to Kai as she held him in a secure hug. “I don’t plan on it.” He smiled weakly, lightly hugging her back. “Jess… as much as I don’t want you to let go… this hurts…” At Kai’s words Jess did back off some, even if he didn’t really want her to. “I’m sorry Jess… about everything.” He had gone into things with Jess, wanting to protect his family, but that didn’t change that she had become just as important to him, he was so in love with her, that he was willing to die if that’s what it took to protect her. Jess was family to Kai, in more ways than one, even if Kai didn’t know that yet.

The Alternate World Series: Malachi Azure - Part 1

So, you’ve heard me say it before – there are, indeed, multiple realities. Multiple worlds continually going on infinitely. In this life, Jessica Pierce ended up with Dorian DeLoughrey: a man she truly loves with all of her heart. And how could she not? He had always been her first love – and in this life, he would be her last too. And have you seen their kids? Absolutely adorable. But if you believe that this was the only way things could have ended up, you are very wrong. I mean… just take a look at my last storytime. In another world… another life, Jessica was wholeheartedly in love with another. One Andy McAllister. Here’s the thing I personally have found interesting about Jessica Pierce within my job as a “narrator”. When she loves someone – she loves fully. It is all-encompassing for her. Well… in most cases. Let’s just say there were a few individuals cough Trevor cough where she always wondered what could have been. Then again, Jess never was fully in love with Trevor.

In any case, this story isn’t about Trevor. Rather, it’s about another man Jess had the ability to fully love. One that almost seemed written in the stars. Want to know a secret… part of it was written in the stars. Sometimes we celestial beings and Narrators like to mess around and let’s just say the number of times Jessica Pierce and Malachi Azure momentarily missed each other in this life was a little game between us all. This only goes to show how many moments there were that the two could have met… been together before the craziness of their lives got in the way. If Jessica had just waited a few moments longer when talking to little Akielah at the airport, or perhaps, if she had gone on that date her parents had set her up on when she was 16 instead of having Jezebel Sloane pretend to be her. For Malachi and Jessica, it was always simple misses, however, that’s what made their connection when they finally met that much stronger. The thing is, no matter what others say – It’s true that Jessica Pierce and Malachi Azure were drawn to each other. Maybe they always would.

There were many routes I could have taken in telling this story – however, I have a particular one in mind. This story… well… let’s just say I was drawn to it for its intricacies. Sure, Jess could have left with Kai during his wedding. But this story – this one’s a little more… action-packed. Let’s go back a little bit – all the way back to 2024 when our dear Jessica saw Malachi Azure at a memorable press interview. One in which she asked him to leave with her… one in which he said no, an answer she had given him on a few years earlier.

However, what changed? What is so special about this universe? Well… let’s just say a little change in “positioning” can lead to something more than just a broken heart.

Year 4: Age 22 to 23 – The Pain of a Thousand Deaths

"musical_note: Play Love Sux – Marisa Maino :musical_note:

A fool. That’s how she felt standing in front of Malachi Azure that day as he told her he was not coming with her. That he couldn’t leave with her. Perhaps that’s how he had felt years earlier when she had said it to him. So…. was it all a ploy? Had he done all that… gotten her hopes up that they could be together simply to put her through the pain of him saying he couldn’t? Was that all she was to him? Because for Jess – the moment she said no to him years earlier at his wedding was something she had done for him. Something she wanted to do to protect him. And if he had done that… broken her heart… played with it simply to hurt her… well that… was crueler than anything Jess could have ever done.

His voice echoed in her mind as she looked into his eyes, her heartbreaking. And no, she didn’t give him a chance to finish what he was going to say. Because the moment she looked down – she found his wedding ring on his finger. And she knew that he had made a decision – one that told her she was not part of his life. Walking away from the castle that day – Jessica Pierce didn’t look back. Despite that, however, her life would forever be changed after that day. Something… well… something she didn’t realize until a few months later.

Year 5: Age 23 to 24 - Running

:musical_note: Play Remember That Night - Sara Keys :musical_note:
Working under Sabastian Varlock was… honestly a life-changing opportunity for Jessica Pierce. Soon after her heartbreak, she immediately went into preparation mode. After all – crying about a man who clearly didn’t care about her would do nothing. Not to mention that within a month of the interview with the… prince and princess – she had to leave… an opportunity that Dorian had encouraged her to apply to as a freshman. One that she had gotten and worked her ass off for the past 4 years; which required learning the Korean language, writing, learning how to maintain a cover, and so much more. Perhaps it was good. After her heart being broken for the second time, she needed the distraction. Did that mean it didn’t hurt? That it didn’t kill her when she saw the magazines that revealed a pregnancy rumor for Kai and the princess? The reality would be that… it would always hurt – but she couldn’t let that hold her back because if Jess let all of that… catch up to her… she would never be able to move on. There was too much pain in Jess’ past for her to stop – in reality – she had to keep running. Running kept her alive.

In a month, she had arrived – seemingly the lowly assistant that carried the bags and helped with equipment. For a while, everything was going according to plan. Jessica had found herself being treated like one of the servants – which is exactly what she and Professor Varlock had hoped. While he was dining like a king, Jess was treated like scum – giving her the best material for the real story. The story that Varlock was never going to write. One that was only her own.

It wasn’t until about 3 months in that Jess realized that things weren’t all according to plan. It had been a late night of helping Professor Varlock “record” the “prosperous” North Korea – though Jess had the opportunity to sneak away and get real footage of the true destitution. For some reason – Jess was getting… more tired than usual. She found herself retiring early to the servant quarters trying to figure out what was happening when one of the older servants who Jess had become friends with entered the space.”jesika gwaenchanh-a?” The woman asked, questioning if she was feeling okay with a small bowl of food in her hand. For the past few days Jess had been skipping meals which was odd in itself – though it seemed the older woman had noticed as she brought the girl some. Though here was the issue, the moment it was in proximity to Jess – the smell immediately made her nauseous and Jess found herself running to the bathroom and throwing up the small amount of food she had eaten in the day up. The worry in the older woman was immediate as she helped Jess in the bathroom. But after a few moments, the woman said something ” imsin-ibnida” and Jess’ eyes widened at the woman who with a knowing look uttered that she was pregnant. And then it hit Jess – she had, indeed, missed her period for the last few months. And then… the worry set in as the memories of what had occurred a few years earlier hit her and her past… well… it was catching up and this time, she couldn’t run.

Year 6 - Well damn, a kid in North Korea

:musical_note: Play For Real - Lana Condor :musical_note:
Pregnant and in North Korea…. Yeah, that was an issue. It took quite a bit of comforting from the older woman that night to bring Jess out of her fear – the woman who had started praying immediately as Jess told her what had happened last time. Was it the North Korean voodoo pray that the woman had done? Maybe Jess’ own prayers to a God she had labeled as non-existent in the past. Well – that she would never know. What she did know was that the baby was doing well despite not being able to see a doctor. After all, Jess was still being treated like a servant which albeit worried her, Jess was happy to have the support of the other servants who helped take care of her. And that’s how Jess found herself having a healthy baby girl half a year later inside of a bathtub with the help of a midwife and the other people who had been working in the castle. Though Varlock was visibly unhappy by her pregnancy, even he had to admit it was a good story. Though more than unhappy, Jess knew he was more worried for her wellbeing – notable by the letter he had sent her… risking the whole assignment simply to ask her if she would be okay and if she needed to take leave.

But that was it – as worried as Jess was, she had help. The moment the baby was born, everyone in the servitude of the dictator was helping take care of her and the baby – one that they all loved like their own. One that… shared more than a few similarities to her father. Despite everything, Jess stayed on with her cover; if anything, having a baby made her go by even more unnoticed – allowing her the opportunity to see more. To witness more. And her little girl – Jess… god Jess loved the life out of her. Any second Jess had – the girl was with her baby. And at 4 months old, Jess finally had the chance to take her home…. Though… well let’s just say there were a few issues bringing the baby back to the states. Because she did, indeed, get caught at the last moment and was almost stuck in Korea. Despite everything, however, Jess was okay. Her baby girl was okay. And now – she was going back. Though what she would tell everyone when she got there… that she didn’t know. Hell… Jess didn’t even know if she would be able to tell them that she had returned.

Well… and maybe she wouldn’t have. Maybe Jess would have disappeared for a while longer with her little girl in tow – not let anyone know she had returned. But that was when she heard that Ziah had passed. No matter what was going on Jessica’s own life, she would forever be there for Andy and found herself making her way to his home immediately. And as she knocked on the door, Jess held her daughter close. Smiling sadly as Andy opened the door. “Hey nug…” Jess whispered, wrapping one hand around him immediately as she muttered “I’m so sorry about Ziah” in his ears. Letting him go, Jess looked into his eyes as she said her next sentiment. “Your goddaughter is sorry too,” she muttered, “but we’re both here for you…” she whispered.

To be continued…

“Okay you two ready?” Jess smiled, bending down as she looked at Shay and Zoe with a serious look, the two girls bouncing up and down excited by their father’s return home after 2 months of being with the team on the road. Jessica had heard his car pulling in seconds earlier as she gathered her two girls to attack the idiot the moment he entered the house. “Shay you tackle him from the right, Zoe you go in through the left, and I’ll hit from the middle,” Jess stated as the three waited. Jess smiled as she heard the man unlocking the door, the moment it opened, the girl screamed “ATTACK” though CLEARLY someone didn’t get the memo since Zoe forgot all about the plan and just started running towards him with her hands up screaming “Dadaa” leaving Shay and Jess to groan “ZOEEee,” Oh well, she couldn’t blame the girl. Zoe loved Dorian to the point of not being able to sleep at night until he called to wish her good night.

Jess smiled seeing Shay look at her with confusion but after a second, Jess just pointed at Dorian giving the girl the go-ahead to go and run her dad too, soon followed by Jessica making her way towards him with a cheeky smile. “One day, I promise you - I will teach them to master the art of a good tackle,” Jess stated, joining the girls as she wrapped her arms around him giving him a small kiss as she laid her head against his shoulder. “I swear if you drove here from the airport and you didn’t get me a Togo box for something, DeLoughrey, you are not getting any tonight,” Jess whispered in his ear with a soft laugh, though a serious one, as their kids started going on about showing Dorian what they learned in school that morning.

{ Farmers’ market trip | 2037 }

”Ready?” Dorian asked with a goofy smile, looking at his little girls through a rear-view mirror of his car as they were safely buckled in. Every Sunday he would go to the farmers’ market for some fresh veggies and fruit being, as we all know, completely different than Jessica when it came to food. It was a day when he wouldn’t wake up and pick up some burgers or nuggets on his way back home from the gym but go and buy something healthy they could all eat for one day at least. Well… those were some nice dreams. No matter how much he hoped Jessica wouldn’t be disappointed if he came back home with “nothing good for her” he knew that would happen every time so that’s what he’d do after. First stop farmer’s market, second stop whatever he thinks Jessica would want that morning, or girls. Recently the two of them expressed their wish to go with dad and help him, wanting to have their own little baskets which he happily got for them. But he always thought the real reason why they wanted to go with him was because they wanted to see alpacas he showed them when he took them the first time. Proven with their first words whenever he would asked them if they were ready, ”Will we see alpacas?”

”That’s why you want to go, isn’t it?” Turning to face the girls, Dorian jokingly asked putting on a fake pout. ”Nooo,” with a smile that matched Dorian’s from earlier, Shay immediately replied, playing with a little basket in her lap. An answer that wasn’t very convinced, that’s why Dorian turned to his other little girl. ”Do you just want to see alpacas?” Looking between the two rather confused, Zoe slowly nodded.”Mhm…” ”No Zoe… You have to say no…” Her sister jumped in, leaning towards the little girl in an attempt to whisper those words, only making Dorian laugh lightly to himself. But Shay was always a cheeky little girl, before Dorian had a chance to say anything she leaned back in her seat and with a grin asked, ”Will we get ice cream?” ”We’ll get ice cream after and you’ll pick something for mommy, deal?” It was a deal they made every time and with that Dorian started the car, driving them to the market.

Two little girls with baskets holding hands as they follow their dad around - it was the cutest scene. Almost strange to see them excited about strawberries, mangos and other fruit they don’t usually care much about, but it was also adorable. Adorable seeing them picking apples they like the most and then putting them in their little baskets but Dorian didn’t let them carry so many things, just enough to make them feel helpful. ”DADDY, cinnamon rolls! Can we get cinnamon rolls, pleaseee,” Shay tugged on his shirt, pointing toward the stand with different homemade cookies and muffins. ”Go on, pick what you want,” with a sweet smile he told the girl before following her as he picked up Zoe. That’s how it usually went, they’d start with healthy food but girls would always get distracted with cookies and candy, getting different kinds and of course not forgetting about their mom or little brother. ”Can we see… Pacas now?” Zoe asked excitedly, looking around the place hoping to see them or hear her dad say yes. Which he did, as he always did. And that’s how their Sunday would start and how their farmers’ market visit would end.

Rain. Honestly - Jess loved it. Loved the feeling of it hitting her bare skin as her body became soaked from head to toe. There was something about it - the feeling of the freezing droplets setting onto her body mixed with the brisk winter air. Perhaps it was just habit. For the longest time, waking up at 3 am and going out for a walk - no matter the weather - was a comfort mechanism. A way to keep running - hiding. Though over the years she had gotten out of that habit… partially thanks to Dorian and finally having some sort of stability in her life - her nightmares mostly subsiding away. Though… sometimes… rare times it returned. Like today - Ironically the anniversary of her death.

Jess had woken up from her dream with a gasp - the memory of the shock setting into her skin as she looked around her body, her friends… and family surrounding her with tears in their eyes. As she jolted awake, it took a few seconds for her to realize what had happened… where she was. That she was still alive. Dorian was asleep next to her - not waking up as he, himself, had a busy day the day before and looked exhausted. Looking at the man with loving eyes, Jess placed a kiss on his cheek before moving out of the bed and through the darkness of their bedroom to the hallway outside. Their kid’s room was a few doors down though Jess stood still for a moment to make sure they were still asleep before making her way towards the living room - turning off the alarm system that was in place when they slept. Years earlier Jess would have just gone for a walk. Rain or not - that was her instinct. But she was far past that point in her life… if not for her, for her kids. So instead, she found herself walking barefoot to the backyard - entering the patio and just standing there - in the middle of the rain as the water ran over her body. Jess closed her eyes as the water surrounded her - listening to the calming sounds of the rain surrounding her, mixed in with thunder.

Over the years - she could still remember the good times… and the bad - the memories that rain brought within her mind. The way she laid on the floor years earlier contemplating the day she left school for four years. Or maybe even the time Dorian drove her home and they ended up sitting together and later dancing… and kissing in the rain. Part of her didn’t even realize how long she had been out there before hearing a scared little voice behind her. “Mommy…” Opening her eyes, Jess moved her head up to see her two girls huddled together jumping at the sound of thunder. Zoe was holding on to her little bear dressed in a soccer uniform that Dorian had brought back for her with one hand and was tightly holding onto her sister while Shay was wrapped around her blanket shivering.

Jessica didn’t hesitate before immediately making her way back to the two and bending down to their level, frowning as both her daughters tightly wrapped their arms around her the moment she had gotten close to them. She felt Zoe jumping at another sound of thunder and starting to cry muttering “mama” between her sobs and Jess softly kissed her on the forehead. “Hey shh, you don’t need to cry my love, there’s nothing to be scared of,” Jess whispered to the two, watching as Shay poked her head into her arms as well. “mama why were you… outside?” Shay asked in Jess’ arms and Jessica kissed her other daughter. “Just thinking…come on you two, come here,” Jess stated, picking Zoe up and holding onto Shay’s arm as she brought the two to the kitchen - turning the electric fireplace on so there would be some light and warmth as she turned the stove on to make some hot chocolate for the girls. "Do you want to know a little secret? Rain is good luck, Jess told her daughters, one of which was hugging her leg and the other sitting on the stool. “Give me one-second baby,” Jess smiled, picking Zoe up and putting her on the counter as she walked over to the laundry room nearby to grab a towel for herself so she wouldn’t get her kids wet. She returned just as the water had heated up and adding hot chocolate in a cup for Shay and a sippy cup for Zoe once the temperature was cool enough that the two wouldn’t burn themselves.

“How is… rain good luck mommy?” Jess grinned, picking Zoe up off the counter and walking towards the Sofa with their drinks as Shay followed suit, cuddling with Jess once she was seated. Well, Shay. I metyour dad when it was raining like this for the first time do you want to hear the story? she asked her kids, feeling a nod from Zoe who had stuffed her head in Jess’ shoulder as another boom echoed in the night, making both girls hold tighter on to theirs mother. “Well… once upon a time when your mom was just a little bit older than you… she met your dad for the first time due to the rain”

Flashback

Many people believe that Jessica had fallen in love with Dorian the day they kissed during one fated game of spin the bottle. But the honest truth of that situation is that love doesn’t work that way. It isn’t instantaneous where you see someone as your best friend and then boom you’re in love with them. Rather, it’s a series of small things. Things that indicate it could be more… it could always be more. But that all started somewhere. The day that Jessica Pierce met Dorian DeLoughrey was not an event that anyone would have expected.

And that event… well… it was a freak storm that no one had bloody expected. Jess had only just arrived to Beryl a few days earlier and Dan was being a party pooper in his bed. Though… .granted… he was still upset about the move… and his little sister… well let’s not talk about that. Either way, Jess had decided to go somewhere to get some food for the idiot. So that’ show she found herself in a place called “whole foods” by herself. After all - they called it whole foods. There must be… a whole ton of food right? Perhaps it was strange for an 9 year old to be alone in the streets - but the alternative was a 64 year old butler taking her around and honestly, Jess preferred the former. So here she was - an 8-year-old who had never been on the streets of America casually going to a random store to buy food. Not to mention while it was raining cat and dogs - and Jess says that coming from the city of rain.

To anyone else it must have been an interesting sight to see a little girl alone with a large cart putting random foods into her cart. And by random - she meant random. Sure there were a few things that were actually meant to make food but most of it was junk - cookies, cinnamon buns, cake - really anything she could get her little hands on.

Jess had gotten all her things in her cart and was waiting in line - her eyes going to the picture perfect American family in front of her. Two blonde boys and a blonde girl arguing - around her age - and then their mother who was putting things from the cart to the cashier so that her items could get checked out. Was it bad for Jess to be listening in on the conversation in front of her? Mayybee. But she couldn’t help it. The little girl had seemingly asked her mom for some candy and the younger boy was telling her how it wasn’t even good candy. First of all - rude. Let the girl have what she wanted. Jess found herself walking towards them, puffing her chest out as she looked at the boy. “Hey don’t be mean,” Jess huffed before looking at the girl. “Don’t listen to him. I love that candy,” Jess told the girl who beamed at her words.

Perhaps that would have been the end of it - until of course the lights instantly turned off with a rage of thunder making everyone jump out of their skin. In the darkness, Jess found herself gravitating towards the person closest to her and instantaneously holding his hand. The lights didn’t come back on, rather, instead Jess heard a voice on the intercom. “Hello guests. we apologize for the power outage but due to a surge it seems that the power in Beryl has gone out for every business and home. The city has called an emergency notice to stay inside for the next 3 hours as the storm passes and we would like to request that all guests stay inside and only leave at their own risk. Whole foods has generators so please stay with your family and hold tight.”

Jess watched as a few emergency lights came back on and realized that she was still holding on to the mean boy’s arm and let go after a few seconds. She watched as the mother of the three bent down asking if her kids were okay. It was interesting… to see a mom who cared so much about her kids. It was… something Jess never had. Her own parents barely cared about her asking to come to Beryl in the first place. As long as she was out of trouble. Though what surprised her was when the woman looked over at her and asked if she was okay too and where her parents were. “Me? Oh I’m good. I’m here alone,” Apparently that wasn’t a normal thing because the minute she said that, the woman, who she later learned was named Davina just said that Jess could stay with them until it was safe again. And that was the start. The four of them sat down and talked and for the first time - Jess felt like she was part of a family… even if it wasn’t her own.

End of Flashback

"So you met daddy because of the rain? Jess smiled as Shay wrapped her arm around Jess’ stomach, her eyes drifting between opening and closing. “I did, the first time I met your dad and his family was because of the rain and then we all became friends,” Jess told the girl - smiling as a soft smile met her lips and the girl fell asleep on top of Jess. Zoe was also wrapped around Jess, her eyes closed seemingly having fallen asleep during the story."

“You still remember that?”

Jess found herself slightly startled as she looked behind her to find Dorian standing their leaning against the kitchen counter. “Are we forgetting that I remember everything Dorian?” Jess asked cheekily as he walked closer to her, kissing her on the lips when he reached her. “I also remember you asking me ‘who even are you’ after I yelled at you for being mean to Elo…so Dorian… who even am I?” Jess laughed slightly as he helped pick Zoe’s sleeping body up and Jess picked Shay up - ready to put the two into a peaceful sleep despite the thundering storm.

What do you do when you feel like your world is falling apart? No really - what do you do? Because Riker Taylor has ABSOLUTELY no idea. And at the moment… well… that was exactly what was happening. Anyone who ever met Riker would say that he had the perfect life. While perfect wasn’t truly quantifiable… Riker did think he had it. A beautiful wife he loved with his entire being, kids that he loved more than anything in the world - currently who were on summer vacation except for Amelia who had one last summer mini class - and a new bubbly baby girl. And Lexie Jane, though unexpected (yes there were jokes between Riker and Dorian but nothing ever came to fruition with that), Riker loved.

Everything was… as close to perfect as it could get until… well… until Riker came home and found Elodie with her suitcase staring back at him.

“Elodie… I don’t… I don’t understand what… where are you going…?”

Riker didn’t get a direct answer to that question before Elodie disappeared, leaving Riker alone with a crying baby girl who wanted her mom. Trust him kid, Riker wanted the baby’s mom too. So here he was - sitting alone on a couch having dropped the baby off at his mothers who was babysitting drunk out of his mind. Amelia had left later that night to join Phoebe on their trip and so here he was. Alone. Drunk. Confused. All of the FREAKING above.

He wanted to talk to someone… needed to talk to someone and currently Riker was still p^ssed at Jordan so what happened was contacting another friend… someone he had only grown closer to over the years: Sadie Monroe. After a few text messages exchanged, Riker found himself calling the girl.

“Saddddieieeeeeeeeee you said you were goingggg to drinkkkk with meeeee. I know you can’t see me but I’m frowning VERY big right now because yourreeee nott hereeee and imm sadddd. OHHH bring tacos if you’re coming. Tacos and Margaritas sounds like soooo much funnnn”

So yes… drunk may not even begin to describe Riker’s current state, but what could he say. His wife had left him with little to no explanation and he had no idea where she was. Not to mention the fact that she wouldn’t pick up his calls so drinking away his troubles seemed like the only viable think to do.

Alternate World - Pain

Playlist

Note: The playlist above is for this Alternate Universe, and the previous Alternate Universe for the stabbing.

Pain. Exhaustion. That didn’t begin to describe what Kai felt as he woke up in a hospital bed, how long he had been there, he didn’t know, but that was far from his concern. Elettra. Knife. Jess. Jess, where was Jess. That was all he cared about when he came to. Elettra stabbed him, but that was nothing. What mattered to him was Jess. She was dying. No, she couldn’t be gone. Kai wouldn’t be able to live with himself knowing Jess died because of him. Because his sister killed her. As soon as he saw the first nurse to come by his room, all he wanted to know was where Jess was. “Pierce. Jessica Pierce. Is she alright? Where is she?” It wasn’t easy to get word on where Jess was, but he did manage to find a room number. Of course, he wasn’t allowed to go visit her, but that didn’t matter. He needed to know she would be alright. That’s how he found himself face to face with Anna Pierce herself. “Let me see her.” As expected, Anna tried to keep him out, even by saying Jess wouldn’t want to see him after what his sister had done, and Kai nearly left, not strong enough to put up much of a fight, but then he saw her. Just a glimpse through the cracked door, but enough to give him the strength to push just a bit further.

“Hey stranger. How are you holding up?”
Kai was exhausted, not enough energy in him to even try to fight back against Daniel if he saw the pair together, but that didn’t matter. Kai was there with Jess. Sitting down beside her, no matter how he felt, he couldn’t hide a smile. “Holding up fine now, but I thought I lost you.”

Even as Kai spoke to Jess, the relief he felt emotionally, couldn’t counter the worsening situation physically. His mind was fuzzy, he had already been in pain from the wound itself, as well as weak and exhausted, but over time it only increased, especially when the time came that Kai had to leave and return to his own room. He had barely made it out the door and into the hall when he hit the floor. The wound was still stitched and bandaged, but if the bruising of his abdomen was any indication, there was a bleed. By the time Kai was rushed into an operating room, it was clear that there was severe internal hemorrhaging.

With the ongoing surgery to save his life, there was one place left Kai’s mind could go, what the future could be. His mind didn’t go to the wedding his parents had arranged, not even to New York, but to Jess. To Jess and a life they could one day have together.

Waking up each morning right next to Jess, laying there for a while, for no reason other than to feel at ease next to her. Then eventually getting up to make coffee and read the newspaper before returning to Jess’s side to finally wake her for breakfast. One day, even marrying her and having a child together. A little one that they would both love with their entire heart, even after that child was followed behind by siblings they loved just as much. They would be somewhere near the city, but far enough away at the same time, somewhere the kids could play without worry. Then, each night he could fall asleep with the person he loved most in his arms. It would be the life he wanted. None of the pressures put on him by his parents, a life away from the spotlight. He would have the people that mattered most to him, he would be completely himself, and he would be happy.

“Malachi Azure. Where is he? Tell me. I’m his sister.” It didn’t matter if nobody was going to take her seriously as just a young teen. It was clear to anyone that could see her there. She didn’t care, and nothing would stop Akielah Azure from finding out what was going on with her older brother. Though the words that came from the doctor’s mouth hurt the girl in a way that nothing ever had before. “You’re lying. You’re F**king lying.” Though all it took was a look on the doctor’s face to confirm that it was indeed true, and she couldn’t lie to herself. She was the little sister, but since she was 8 years old, she did everything she possibly could to look out for and even protect Kai. Now, there she was, standing in the hall of a hospital feeling more alone than she had imagined was even possible. That’s when the girl who kept her fears hidden from everyone, crumpled to the floor as she broke down and watched her own tears fall. Her brother was gone…

The odds were not in the favor of Malachi Azure that day, but Jessica Pierce, despite what she went through, the universe let her go on. As Kai would say, Jess must be like a cat with 9 lives. She’ll reach the end of her last life at some point, but this was not that time. It seems that she had enough lives remaining to spare one for herself to live after the 3 minutes and 13 seconds that she had been dead, as well as one for the growing child inside of her, one final piece of Kai.

tune in

A loud thunder woke Dorian up in the middle of the night, an absence he felt making him reach his arm out to the other side of the bed and pull Jessica closer to him. But he was indeed met with an empty bed, she wasn’t next to him. There were times, back when they first started dating, when Jessica would be awake at night or wake up Dorian after having one of her nightmares, something she hasn’t done in a while so not seeing her in their room did worry him. At this point fully awake, he got out of bed picking up his t-shirt that was right next to it and throwing it on before walking out of the room. Through the tapping of raindrops on windows around him, he could hear a faint voice down in the living room, a sign that everything was alright. Their little girls being with Jessica, a guess seeing their bedroom door was open and they weren’t there. He was expecting to find them scared because of the storm, cuddled up with their mom as she was comforting them and in a way he did, but there was so much more to it. A smile met his lips once he heard a story Jessica was telling them, being reminded of that day he couldn’t remember as clearly as she did.

A simple day that ended with a little stranger in their house. He was no older than 8 and there weren’t many things he remembered from that time but parts of Jessica’s story stuck with him. Simply because that girl basically became part of their family with how much time she was spending in the house with Elodie, even Dylan and his mother, and because later she became important even to him. His arguments with Elodie in the grocery store were a normal thing, Dorian just loved voicing his opinion when he was younger but never did he expect a little girl to stand up for his sister. That’s what he does remember - little Jessica trying to act tough and be nice to a girl she’d never seen before. He also remembers his reaction, his confusion, even annoyance as he asked the girl who she was. Remembers a little boy who had no idea that one day, that strange girl would mean the world to him.

”You still remember that?” Truly a silly thing to ask knowing she’d say how she remembers everything but it was just a moment of reminiscing, not expecting to hear that story now. And once she did say that, he smiled cheekily walking over to her from the kitchen, kissing her softly once he reached her. His gaze then falling on their little girls sleeping while cuddled up with their mom. And what he could guess hot chocolate on the table but we’re not going to comment on that now. ”You are…” gently picking up Zoe, he laughed to himself before turning to his wife. ”Do you want a sweet or honest answer?” Dorian joked about her question, his cheeky smile only growing hearing her calling him an idiot when he turned to carry Zoe to her bed and tuck her in. But besides hot chocolate there was something else he noticed - a towel she had wrapped around her previously, indicating that maybe, just maybe she wasn’t awake because of their girls. But he didn’t say anything about it at first, he just helped Jess carry girls back to their bedroom and make sure they were asleep before walking up behind her and wrapping his arms around her. ”Everything okay?” Whispering, he placed a kiss on top of her shoulder, his arms still wrapped around her slightly cold body, damp clothes. ”Come here…” Soon letting his hand slide down to her hand, intertwining their fingers as he led her out of the room to let the girls sleep. Then with a sweet smile picking her up and wrapping her legs around his waist. ”Wow, you were really out without me, huh?”

That was almost their thing - being out in the rain together. Not something he ever imagined himself doing but there he was. Back when he saw Jessica again after 4 years, back when they were dating for the first time and she’d often drag him out to dance and now. Holding her tightly and kissing the moment they got out in the rain. Not pulling back as he slowly put her down, resting his hands on her hips. ”What song are we imagining this time?” Quietly asking with a grin, he took her hand in his, twirling her around for the first time that night.

Talking With The Parents - 2030

“Si, mama. I’ll be right back.” The girl called out as she walked out of the kitchen in her family’s home, stepping over towards her boyfriend and kissing him on the cheek. “I’m heading out to get a few things my parents didn’t realize we were out of so they can finish dessert. Do you want to come with me?”

Raphael smiled at her before giving a slight shake of his head. “I’ll stay here, I was just talking with your grandpa.”

“Perfectly fine Raph. I’ll be back soon.” Eve said with a bright smile before walking out the door.

It’s true, Raphael had been talking with Eve’s grandfather, but that wasn’t why he chose not to go with Eve, even if he had wanted to. With Eve out the door, he walked into the kitchen where Eve’s parents were. “Sir?” Raphael took a deep breath, wiping his sweaty palms off on his pants, as Eve’s father turned towards him.

“Raphael? Is something wrong?”

“No sir. There was just… I wanted to speak with you, and your wife, about something.” It was at that point that Eve’s mother turned to join the conversation. “I love your daughter, I’ve loved her for a long time now, and I know how much your approval would mean to her, so if you approve, I would like to marry her.”

By that moment, Raphael’s nervousness was clear, more clear than ever, but it wasn’t for long as he soon found himself in the arms of Eve’s mother, who was smiling from ear to ear. “It’s about time.”

Eve’s father stepped closer, placing a hand on Raphael’s shoulder. “I couldn’t ask for someone better for my daughter. You’re already family, son.”

Random day in 2036 - in the bakery

Zion walked into the kitchen, playfully rolling their eyes. “What?” Emily asked, looking up from the recipe she was making. “Your son, that’s what.” They responded, pulling out the ingredients they needed for the next recipe they had to make. “My son? Last time I checked, Zion, he has your last name.” Their wife quipped, flicking flour at them. “Anyways, what has our son done now?”

They began to measure out their ingredients. “Well, I went into the front to see how Xavier was doing with his homework, but when I got there, he wasn’t there.” They begin to tell her as they start combining the ingredients. “I waited for a bit, just in case he’d gone to the washroom or something, but I started to get worried when several minutes had passed and he still hadn’t come back. As I’m sitting there, contemplating whether to call my brother or the police, doesn’t the little f-cker come waltzing in with Athena.” Emily giggles as they finish their story. They shoot her a look, wondering why she found the concept of their son disappearing so funny. “Apparently he’d finished his homework and went home to walk Dante, without telling us. On his way back, he stopped at my brother’s and somehow convinced Athena to come along with him.”

“So, where is he now?” Their wife asks, pouring her batter into its pan and then putting oven mitts on before sliding the pan into the oven and setting a timer. After she’d finished, she walked over to them and put her arm around their shoulders. “I gave the pair of them some cookies and told them to sit at a table where they couldn’t cause any trouble.”

”You know they’re fourteen, right? Not five?” Emily said in response to their last statement, smiling and trying not to laugh. ”Also, Athena is the only person he’ll talk to outside of his soccer team. Shouldn’t we be encouraging him to hang out with her?” She points out, starting on the next recipe in their list. They didn’t say anything in response, knowing that they couldn’t deny the fact that their wife was right.

Years had passed since her divorce from Jordan Williams, and Sadie was at her peak, career-wise. Releasing singles until soon assembling albums, guest-starring in shows into becoming lead roles in blockbuster movies, hosting award shows before actually winning awards; her career had really gone from strength to strength as the years went on. Maybe gradually this successful career and single life had begun to heal her once deteriorating self-esteem. Though she had thought she would never see the day, Sadie had found self-sufficiency and, even, confidence post-Jordan. Had it overtaken the happiness she had when being with the love of her life?

The day Sadie had spent shooting the music video for her latest single ‘Skin’. As the evening crept up on her, Sadie arrived in the silent, empty house, that had undeniably felt like it was missing something for the last four years. The kids, that would usually fill the space, were at Jordan’s house again, and so Sadie turned to Instagram to fill time, doing what she continuously tries to avoid: reading the comments of her recent on-a-whim post. It was the same with every post, for every general compliment there were three Jordan Williams stans sending hate or ‘Jordie’ shippers telling them… well, the clue’s in the name.

That was when her seemingly mundane evening took a turn, the scrolling of the comments on the phone screen coming to a pause from the banner that had popped up on the top of her screen, making her sit up and turn all her attention to it. A message- an… extremely not sober message- from Riker Taylor. Her growing concern took her to hover over the call icon, though it seemed Riker beat her to it. Sadie was already out the door when she answered, driving the route to his house becoming like second nature to her, though slightly delayed by his specific request on the phone. Minus the part about Margaritas, from what it sounded like, the last thing he needed was more alcohol.

Her bag fell to the ground as Sadie stood at the doorstep of his home. “Riker?” She called out, cautiously, her growing anxieties worrying she wouldn’t get an answer for whatever reason. Closing the front door, Sadie followed the trail of empty bottles he had created, leading her soon to the broken man sat before her. While Riker had unintentionally given her a prewarning through the DMs, it didn’t at all lessen the panic and concern she felt when she saw him. “What happe- Riker, are you- how many have you-?”" She started, struggling to compose a sentence as she rushed across the room to take the half-empty bottle out of his hand, pulling it out of his grasp, not that it would make much of a difference clearly.

Just another day in the life - 2036

Kindergarten. That’s where Shay was right now, sitting in the middle of class bored out of her mind as the students around her finished their times’ tables. Shay finished them within the first few minutes and her teacher just told her to sit with her head in her hands but she was Booooreeeed. Why was it so hard for everyone? Shay just remembered it. Her teacher showed her once and there it was the answer in the back of her mind. Her mommy told her that her mind worked differently than other people but Shay didn’t get why. Don’t get her wrong - Shay loved learning new things. She just got bored when her teacher wanted to repeat the same thing oveeerr and oveeer and oveeer again. A soft sigh left her lips as the girl looked around the room at the kid next to her chewing his pencil and the girl beside her, Ally who Shay was friends with, seemed to be on only the third question. Whhheeeen would this end??

It was a few moments of doing this - of sheer boredom and making stories up in her mind about what her classmates were thinking when her teacher came over to her table and bent down. “Shay, your mom is in the principal’s office. Do you want me to walk you there or do you think you can get there by yourself?” Shay instantly perked up hearing her mom was here and shook her head at the teacher.

“No, I know where it is Miss Robin,” Shay yelled, instantly hearing a shh by someone next to her to which she simply put her tongue out. Soon she was skipping all the way to the office where her momma was waiting. Running to her mom, Shay hugged her mother’s legs tightly, smiling as her mom bent to pick her up. “Hello baby girl, what do you say you and me sneak out of school a little early?” Pure excitement filled her being as she tightly hugged her mom, jumping up and down her arms. Shay and her mom often had days like this where she’d come to pick her out of school early and they’d just hang out for the rest of the day with Zoe. Maybe it was because Shay told her mom that school was boring because it was so easy that her mom did that but either way, it was some of her favorite days.

Soon enough, Shay found herself strapped into her car seat next to her little sister. “Where are we going mama?” Shay asked as her mom who was driving. “I wa-want Ice cweam,” her sister added making her mom laugh. “How about something better than Ice cream? You two miss your dad right? What do you say we give him a little visit in Italy?”

Instantly Zoe started bouncing at the mention of their dad and Shay also found herself excited. The two called him every day after school and talked for hours but they still missed him. Shay knew her mommy missed him too… usually mommy would go to sleep with him but when he left she stayed awake at night and Shay had seen her various times early in the morning when Shay needed to go to the bathroom. In any case, both Shay and Zoe screamed “daddyyyy” out of genuine excitement at those words as their mommy drove to the big airport with all the planes.

Both Shay and Zoe had fallen asleep on the plane a few hours after eating ice cream like Zoe had wanted. When they woke up they still had a few hours and found themselves watching Spongebob on the tv in mommy’s plane that they had been on a few times to go to Disney World or visit family in Beryl. But soon enough the two had arrived and both Zoe and Shay only became more excited. After all, what could anyone expect? The two girls missed their dad who they hadn’t seen in a month because he was in the championship games.

As they walked through the airport, Shay ran to a magazine stand near them and immediately grabbed one off the rack before running back to her mom. “Mommy mommy mommy it’s daddy,” Shay jumped looking at her dad on the cover before Zoe reached for it and hugged the cover the moment she got it in her little hands “I loveee daddy.” Mom smiled at Zoe before walking over to the stand and paying for the magazine before holding both of their hands and walking toward a taxi speaking in funny language to the driver.

It was strange to be in a new city, but at the same time, Shay loved it. She found it so much fun to look out of the window - whether it be on a plane or a car - and just enjoy the new surroundings. In all honestly, it felt so much more engaging than school. And soon enough - Shay’s eyes widened as she found herself at the biggest field she had ever seen. "Daddy’s playing… here? . Shay had often seen it on TV when he played out of the country, but she had never seen him play in different country in person and nothing could hide the grin on her face as she looked outside the window to the stadium. “Alright babes. Your dad doesn’t know we’re here today so we’re going to surprise him okay?” Shay instantly nodded, almost simultaneously running out of the taxi as the hustle and bustle made her want to run around with excitement.

Grabbing a hold of mommy’s hand once again while Zoe was in her arms, Shay practically pulled her mom forward so they could get there sooner. The three were brought to the front row where they were eye level with the field. Immediately, Shay looked around for her father though couldn’t find him. That was until there was a loud announcement on the field to start cheering for the American team and the team started exiting a little door near where Shay and Zoe were looking. Fans had started putting their hands down the side trying to get high fives from the team and Shay started doing the same, looking for her dad in the midst. There was no hiding the grin on her face when she saw her dad come out smiling and high-fiving a few kids. “DADDY” Shay screamed, though soon frowned when her voice was drowned out by other fans. “Dadddyyyyyy” Shay screamed at the top of her lungs again as the man got closer to her - soon joined by her little sister when she saw the man as well. It was at her third scream alongside her mom and Zoe that Dorian turned towards them with confusion. Though, he soon seemed to realize what was going on and ran towards where the three of them were and jumped on the stands so he could talk to them. He immediately gave her and Zoe a kiss before saying something to mommy, giving her a kiss as well before telling the girls to wish him good luck. And with that, he was soon running back on the field with the rest of his team.

For the duration of the game, Shay and Zoe watched their dad - pressed up against the glass screaming when he got a goal. Or… Shay screaming and Zoe mimicking either her or their mom who often screamed at the referee as the girl had no clue when to cheer when dad’s team was winning - rather, she was too busy holding onto her bear that daddy had gotten her and the magazine mommy bought in her hands. After a 90 minute game that daddy’s team won, mommy led the two towards where the players were coming back and Shay squealed when she found her dad running towards her and picking both her and Zoe up, and spinning them around. Shay kissed her dad on the check before scrunching her nose and saying “ewwww you’re sweattyyyy” which only made her dad kiss her more to mess with her. After a few moments of hugging dad, he let Shay down, though Zoe clearly wouldn’t let go, and made his way to mommy to give her another kiss.

Shay listened to her parents as the two talked about what they were all doing there and Shay found herself jumping up and down pulling on her dad’s arm as she pointed at Zoe’s magazine. “Daddy, daddy look what we found,” Shay yelled, pointing at what Zoe was still holding and smiled as her dad took it out of her sister’s hands with the words “What do we have here?” Though before Shay could say anything, her mom gave her dad a cheeky smile.

“Apparently a riveting piece trying to teach me how to maintain my 6-pack-abs but I think it’s absolute bloody bull since I saw nothing about eating chicken nuggets and fast food on the daily. I say fake news.”

“Obviously fake - I mean, first of all, I have an eight pack,”

Shay watched as her mom rolled her eyes before continuing with “Right - how about we help maintain that eight pack by going out for some Gelato?” leading her dad to laugh and put his hand out for Shay to hold. "Wouldn’t have it any other way Jess.

Flashback

“And where do you think you’re going to go, child? Nobody fcking wants you. Even your mom didn’t want you. You really think you can survive out there? Well go ahead, do it. But don’t fcking come back crying when you realize I’ve given you the best damn home anyone will give a black btch.” There was a sickening laugh coming from his father’s voice as 13-year-old Jordan looked back from the open door. He had enough… Jordan Williams simply couldn’t do it anymore. He couldn’t live in this household with this… abuse. He couldn’t. Lost in his thoughts, Jordan jumped out of his skin as a bottle smashed beside him. “Get the fck out of my house child.”

And that’s exactly what Jordan did. No words were exchanged as Jordan left that day - one small backpack around his shoulders with minuscule amount of money. This wasn’t the first time Jordan had run away from home - the last time being when he was 9-years-old and using a small back space in a dance studio to sleep. However… they had caught him last time and locked the doors so now… Jordan really didn’t have anywhere to go. The only family Jordan had was Yara and he couldn’t… let her see him like this. Bruises filled Jordan’s body from a black eye to a sore back from all the times his father had hit him with a belt. Now… well… Jordan was alone. The time was 2:42 AM and Jordan simply walked. He didn’t know where to go so he ended up navigating towards an empty park near his school, falling asleep on the bench with his bag tightly secured on him. Or… well… sleep was relative. All the sounds in the night kept him awake until the bright morning when Jordan was scared off as a police officer tried to ask him what he was doing there.

So Jordan ran… for 5 days, Jordan spent the time sleeping in odd nooks and crannies. He had disappeared from school and used what money he had to buy food… until of course his back pack was stolen and he was left scared, cold, and alone. Jordan was defeated… if that was a possibility after years of torment. He truly found himself at the lowest point in his life. There were times he used to walk past school, hiding in the trees just wishing… that he could be one of to the other kids. Be… happy. With a family that cared about him.

It was a Friday afternoon and Jordan found himself in a park, laying against a tree with his eyes half closed. Jordan hadn’t had sleep for a few days and he found that the best sleep was when the sun was out… the safest sleep at least. Though it was difficult after four days of having no food in his stomach.

“Jordan?”

He heard the soft angelic voice wake him from his slumber and for a second… Jordan almost thought he was dreaming. Dreaming or… well… dead. And maybe when he saw Jezebel he almost wished that was true because… the one thing he never wanted was his crush to see him like that… see him so… broken. Jordan was aware he probably looked… horrible.

“I… hi… Jez” It was the only words he could get out as she took a seat next to him, worry in her eyes and he didn’t… he could barely face her. But he didn’t have to… it was almost as if she knew what was happening and she didn’t question it further. Rather, she stood up and put his her hand out. Jordan was confused about what was happening but there was something… so inviting about her. So, without another word, he took her hand and started to follow her as she walked. Neither of them spoke about anything, but when Jez got to her house - she made an indication to wait as she went inside and after a few seconds, she pulled him in and lead him upstairs quickly, all the way to the… attic. “I know it’s not the coziest but there are some blankets and pillows in that box and an old mattress in the corner. My grandparents and mom aren’t home right now but you can make yourself at home just… don’t make too much noise… Go ahead and get settled in and I’ll bring you some food and clothes”

There were no words to describe how Jordan felt at the moment it was… there was just this kindness in her voice and he couldn’t… he didn’t know what to say. He started to argue but she didn’t give him a chance as she descended the staircase and disappeared.

End of Flashback

For the last three weeks… that’s exactly what Jordan had been doing. Hiding in Jezebel Slone’s attic. Sleeping… eating… going to school by sneaking out early in the morning with Jez it was… strange. But for the first time… Jordan felt so much gratitude towards another person. Not to mention that person was Jezebel Sloane who… well… he had the biggest crush on since he was 8. And staying over at her house just… made the two grow closer… to the point where Jordan told her what happened… despite her never asking or pressing the matter herself.

Jordan honestly didn’t know how he got so lucky… lucky to have a friend like Jezebel in his life. Currently, he laid in his room staring at the ceiling. It was a Saturday meaning no school and for him that usually meant either staying quiet all day or sneaking out with Jezebel to go to a coffee shop or something to catch up on homework.

Jordan lifted his head up hearing the sound of the door opening and smiling when he saw Jezebel enter… god there was something about her smile. Remember that crush? Yeah… let’s just say that didn’t diminish with time as he spent the last few weeks at her house… if anything… it grew.

“Hey dummy. My mom and grandparents left a little early today so feel free to take a shower and then we can go,”

Jordan nodded, following the girl downstairs and going into the bathroom as she left him. Hot shower… now that was another luxury he never had before. Oftentimes his dad didn’t pay the water bill which meant mostly no water. Stripping down, Jordan entered the shower closing his eyes as the water hit his skin. The bruises on his back had started to heal slowly but the water still slightly burned. After a few moments, Jordan opened his eyes as he heard a sound on the other end.

He heard a small curse as Jezebel walked into the bathroom that he left unlocked and after a few seconds he heard Jezebel whispering “I’m sorry” before entering the shower fully clothed and closing the curtains. “Wh-wha” Jordan was about to say something, the shock too high for him to even have time to cover anything but instead, he found Jezebel putting her hand over his mouth - the other holding onto his clothes.

And then he heard it, a female voice on the other end. “Jezebel, are you in there? I left my phone inside to charge…”

The women didn’t even ask before coming into the bathroom, and immediately, Jordan stayed as still and quiet as possible - letting Jezebel talk in this very… very uncomfortable situation. "By the way - did you look into that internship I told you about Jezebel? You need to start working with influential people now if you want to make it anywhere.

Alcohol. Was there any better substance that numbed the pain that Riker Taylor-DeLoughrey was feeling? Oh wait… haha… was he even “DeLoughrey” anymore? Who even knew. Anyways… back to numbing pain… Well… okay fine there were MANY substances that Riker could take that would numb pain but it was something Riker usually avoided. Drugs were just something that Riker didn’t want to ever get into… mostly because of his mentor, Jordan’s mom, teaching him better. Teaching him what her husband had done to her… But Alcohol… well… you know what screw it. Riker was sad enough what was another drink or two. Who cared anymore. Not him, let me tell you. That could easily be seen with his drunken state as he blasted music and danced around his house and, of course,, drank. Drank until he couldn’t feel his fingers… didn’t know where he was… didn’t know why he was. Honestly, he had even forgotten that he had texted/called Sadie after about half an hour of dancing… maybe a little crying.

The music was so loud that he had not even heard Sadie enter the house when she finally did arrive. He heard her ask… or start to ask a stream of questions but he ignored them as he spotted the tacos in her hand. “OHMAHGAWD” Riker exclaimed, running to the girl and picking her up and sipping her around. YOU are SUCHHhhhHH a lifesaver. I’ve beeennn starrrvinggg, Riker smiled, though it soon turned into a frown as she took his drink out of his hand. “Heyyyy” he pouted at her movement - also noticing she didn’t bring his margaritas. Sure… he couldn’t remember his own name but he did remember that tacos with margaritas were amazing. “I thought we had a deal. Tacos AND margs. How else are we supposed to have a partahhhhyyyy,”

His words didn’t matter - honestly, at this point, they were jumbling together anyways. Putting the tacos down, he looked at her with curiosity. “You know what, screw food, let’s dance,” Riker muttered, putting everything down as he grabbed her waist and started doing the salsa. Though after a few seconds, a pout met his lips. The last time he had done the salsa was when he took Elodie on a date to a salsa dancing class and the two learned together and now he was just sad which… well… ended up with him sitting on his couch with a frown. "Why’d she leave Sadie? What did I do? I thought… I tried my best to be the best husband and father I could… I just don’t… where did I go wrong? Does she not care about me? Maybe she wants someone different… someone, better… I can’t… Who can blame her… I was never good enough for her and she finally realized it and now I’m all alone and I just… I don’t know what to do .

There was honestly in Riker’s words that he would likely have kept hidden if he was sober… but he couldn’t. Confusion revealed in his entire being and he just… didn’t know what had happened. "Why did you… you left Jordan. Was it because you didn’t love him anymore? Is that why she left me?

Shorts Series: Gotta win them bets - 2033

“Jess I’m going to head to the gym and I’ll stop by the grocery store afterwards, do you want anything?”

It was a Saturday morning and Jess was laying on the sofa watching TV with her two-and-a-half-year-old, Shay. Zoe, who was about 5 months old, was peacefully sleeping in her crib and Jess was honestly just waiting for the girl to wake up because she knew she’d be hungry soon, and Dorian wasn’t about to breastfeed her so Jess assumed it would be her… yet again. sigh. Siri - search how to train a man to breastfeed. Thanks. Anyways, Jess was about to say something before she saw Shay walk up to her dad with the words “Me too meee toooo,” leaving her mouth and Jess let out a small laugh. "I’m fine love… I’ll text you if I remember anything but it seems like that one wants to come with, Jess stated, pointing at Shay and Dori picked her up talking to the girl. After a few minutes of Shay begging, Dorian decided to take her with him - going to the grocery store first before the gym so he could drop her off in the middle. In any case, it seemed as if a few moments after he left Zoe wanted attention which is how Jess ended up walking to her baby’s room.

Zoe was always a playful baby - always wanting to be active and do something. The girl easily made Jess smile as she bounced up and down against the crib as she saw her mom. Though… honestly… Jess wasn’t sure if it was for her or if it was for the fact that Jess coming to the room = food. In any case, Jess had one bubbly babby waiting for her.

“Hi Zooeeee,” Jess laughed, picking her baby up and giving her a soft kiss on her cheek. "So how’s sleeping going? I’m 99% sure you’re an undercover spy and you just pretend to sleep and sneak out at night huh? Honestly the number of random conversations Jessica had with her kids was phenomenal but what could she say, it was adorable when her baby would make noises - seemingly “understanding” what she was saying and respond. Currently, Zoe had yet to say her first words but talking to her was still fun.

Though… well… she had yet to say her first words until that moment. When Jess walked the girl downstairs to the living room, she said the most OFFENSIVE thing that one could say. “Daaddaa” Hearing the word, Jess stopped in her tracks. At first, thinking it was just a fluke of sounds mushed together. "What did you say baby girl? Jess looked at her child with a soft smile, honestly thinking nothing of it until she said it again…and again… and again. “dadadadada” . How. Dare. She. Okay look - Jess was excited that her baby had said her first words. BUT DADA? REALLY? OH HELLL NAW. Did that man hold this kid in their uterus for 9 months? Not to mention Jess and Dori had a bet about what would be the baby’s first words and of course, “dada” was on Dori’s list of five words he thought it would be. So what did Jess do? Jess had an ETA of about 20 to 40 minutes before Dori came home so it was crunch time. First, Jess sent Dori a… well… kind of long list of things to get from the store to keep him distracted. And second? Jess BRIBED the hell out of that kid.

First, grabbing the girl’s favorite toy, Jess danced it around Zoe’s face as she said “Okay Zoe, say ‘mama’” . What did Jess get in response? Well… you have one guess. The extent to what Jess did to try to get that girl to say anything but “dada” was extraordinary. Jess almost considered just waving her breasts around and saying mama until the girl said it before feeding her but that probably went under cruel and unusual punishments and Jess wasn’t that mean. Suffice to say, Jess was exhausted. 2 hours. TWO HOURS of saying “mama” later and no progress was made.

Jess was laying on the floor, her daughter crawling on her laughing periodically - though it really felt like the girl was laughing at Jess pain at this point. “That’s funny to you huh?” Jess asked with a soft smile, kissing her daughter again and ticking her softly. Hearing the door being unlocked, Jess looked at the girl one last time. "Fine you lil traitor. Say dada all you want but just wait a few minutes so I can get your dad out of the house and have a few more hours to convince you to switch sides okay? deal? Jess asked the little girl, putting her hand out and shaking her daughter’s hand.

Jess smiled at Dori as the man entered with his arms full of bags and Shay next to him holding an ice cream cone with a big smile on her face. “How did we end up with 'I don’t need anything to 'please bring me half the store home please?” Jess shot him a soft smile as he disappeared to the kitchen for a second before heading back towards her and Zoe who was still sprawled on the floor. “I love youuu,” Jess smiled as he approached the two, bending down alongside them as he picked Zoe up. "Tell me Zoe, why is your mom such a weirdo? he asked the girl and with a soft laugh, the girl did the ONE thing Jess told her not to. “Dada”

“OH FOR GODS SAKE we had a deal Zoe,” Jess sighed, placing her head in Dorian’s shoulder as he was surprised to hear his daughters first… was it even first at this point? She said it like a hundred times. Anyways, her first word. And then - well, of course Dorian skipped going to the gym just to hear Zoe say it again, and again - which she did. Not to mention, gloat about winning the bet. Touché DeLoughrey…To-fcking-ché.
